But what are the advantages of these bots? Do you get money from them?
-
Kids have got to keep buying it. Even if they've run out of ideas, it's still one of their best selling ranges, so they need to keep producing. And new sets just keeps them on the hook
-
I know, they shouldn't be facing into the wind. But I've always thought that they look funny like that. It also allowed me to get a slightly smaller box around the whole ship

How about a MOC triathalon, where contestants build 3 MOCs, one from each of 3 chosen genres, and then these are pitted against each other in a 3-part poll? No parts limits, no rules, just pure MOCing
-
Now for my views: -Awesome -Great use of parts -Great colour scheme -I'm not too sure that a live crew is the best idea -Just look at this broadside! -Although I'm not the biggest fan of the technic blasters... :pir- Done!

Large Category: The Jolly Sinner 200 pieces. Press the button at the base of the mast and watch it realistically collapse! Then snap it back on again and battle the enemy! Designer's notes: Although this seems very large, it contains 200 pieces exactly. This comes as a result of using slightly more <insert that tiresome argument> parts (e.g. 1x4x2 arches instead of a 1x4 arch and two 1x1 bricks), larger parts (panel walls) and, in some areas, reduced structural integrity. Although this might seem a disadvantage, it in fact can be helpful to the model's overall realism, if not looks. An example of this are the jibs on the main mast. These are built to TLC specifications, but with a few pieces removed. Therefore they are weaker, and so snap when the mast falls over, making the carnage all the more. Another example of apparant weakness is the mast base; it might seem that the mast would topple over all the time. Not so, as its weight keeps it vertical to quite extreme angles. On another note, it may appear that bits of rigging and rope are missing in the images. This is because of the resizing. just click enlarge to view the main picture in all its glory. Thanks again to Phes for the CGI background!

I think what he's trying to say is that the instructions are the loose model-mashing ones...
-
Firstly, I wouldn't publish your address; if you want someone to send you something, do it via PM. As for the instructions, scanning them would be easier and cheaper, not to mention that it wouldn't cost someone theirs. And no, I don't have the instructions.

Mine are sorted straight after photomography. The end.

Impulse Category: Kahuka's Palm Tree 24 pieces. Tip the palm tree to reveal the treasure! Thanks to Phes for the CGI background!

The only place I've seen them was in the MacDonalds franchise thing, where you got a rubbishy blocky monster with your Happy Meal; it was on top of Dizzy's head. @Phred: I love your entry, and how it says Help at the bottom of your post And my first two entries are in...

Random EB humour; I wouldn't do it in a contest It could be you! You yourself said you were rarely cleanly shaven!

Correction: It is impossible to vote *tongue*

I can already smell it on BS! *tongue*

I can count 22! Got to get the craft knife out!

Firstly, two springs reduces the range as the useful to useless coils ratio decreases, giving a lower energy storage capacity. As for lengthening the firing pin, it would work theoretically, but not in practice as it would require lengthening the end cap, as the firing pin slides between this and the H piece described below This is attached to an H shaped part that is at the end of the barrel; the two firing prongs slide through the slots and the central prong comes out the middle of the H. I wanted a classic look, not 4+
-
Only 32? I've done 4. *sadnew* I'm surprised about you though; do you do a lot of ebaying then? Or do you just go to TRU?
-
The answer is obvious. TLC must stop using ABS plastic, to stop using oil. Instead, they must withdraw all ice-cube trays and use them to start moulding bricks in different materials; water (ice) for trans, chocolate for brown and all sorts of other colours, with corresponding materials. They must then be frozen and therefore played with in sub-zero temperatures. The energy used in keeping AFOLs' houses to this temperature will require marginally less oil than making the equivalent number of bricks, so it will have paid off.

Nope, Pirates make rules. Imperials follow them, and Islanders bend them.

I was talking to Greenbeard, the son of Bluebeard (better known as Bluebard) and Yellowbeard, not you! *grin*
-
This hat: As for the poll, full edit your first post, and poll options should appear. Otherwise, you could try getting an admin to do it, or maybe even a fellow - do they have powers here, Greenbeard? *tongue*
-
Poll. *sceptic* I would have voted for Exo-Horse, if he'd only put that SW hat of his on the horse, but he didn't so I reserve my judgement *classic*
-
I see your ents have acquired armour and shrunk somewhat, except their leader, the mighty Owlbeard! *grin* And Phes doing magic is just awesome, better than playing naughty games with *yoda* , who has now acquired a hat in the Pirate forum... *sing*

Cutlass to foreshadow a return of the Pirate Theme?
SlyOwl replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Pirates
I would suggest that perhaps TLC is releasing ships in the Castle line (and the Vikings perhaps) to compensate for a lack of Pirates. They're just not giving the entire theme enough weight as there isn't a large younger audience for Pirates. Therefore, releasing ships is a way of compensating Phes the AFOL community. Just a suggestion I'd like to see a bley cutlass, not because I like bley, but because it could give some variety and would allow for more accurate fan-designed sets. I was under the impression that Skeleton Attack Ship contained a bley cutlass, although I may be mistaked I think that cannons, bicorns or tricorns would be a near-guarantee of a Pirate return, especially as Pirates is just beating Romans in the Embassy poll And answering Sinner's question, yes, a cutlass is generally a cutlass, unless it has a cheesy <insert that tiresome argument> catapult attached
