  1. Just as a general announcement, it isn't necessary to take a photo of the parts and include it in the 3 entry photos. You just need to be able to provide either a parts list or extra photos to verify the part count, if required. -imperialshadows
  2. Welcome! *y* You could try removing the second http// from the tabs in your sig... ;-)
  3. If you're talking bowsprit (the mast that sticks out the front of the boat), you could just use 1 stud wide plates to build it up, like for the jibs. However, I would really recommend buying one, to stay in keeping with the rest of the ship ;-)
  4. *sing* Off topic, but c'mon Liverpool! *wub* And on topic... So you're not giving opinions; are these to be the captions for the voting?
  5. Well, it won, didn't it? :-D And as a pirate fan followng (and entering) the CCCV, it was only natural ;-)
  6. Well, I've just tried heavier ammo, using a knut so I didn't have to damage the centre prong. Guess what? The range decreased, as did the power 8-| As for the Technic blaster spring, firstly it is nearly bigger than the cannnon and therefore useless, and secondly I have no idea how to get hold of it :-/
  7. Dwarf: Sorry mate, they put the plastic for your beard in the wrong mould!
  8. Looks to me like there's no members who aren't yanks, aussies, kiwis or Europeans... 8-| More people should come on! X-D
  9. Oh, I have more questions :-$ Does the figurehead (if half a minifig) count as one, and so can be omitted from the part count? Or does it count as parts and so is not a minifig? And are composite images allowed, to show action features and to fit in more angles of the set? Yeesh, my first draft ship had 600 pieces! *sing* It's unfortunate that I don't have any 12-wide hull pieces, so I'm having to build to the size of the RBR with only a third of the parts! *sing*
  10. Well...that would have been the case before 2000 :-/ THat's when they stopped attaching the heads in the factory, which I really miss :'-(
  11. I liked my old title :'-( But I like this one just as much! :-P Praise indeed, from the mighty hippo! *sweet* As for the wizard's hat, I used it once before in a tie-breaker MOC here, although it was very small, and so went unnnoticed outside the Pirate forum... And to yourself - you showed great ship building skills in the CCCV; are you planning to do more like it?
  12. OK, are base plates allowed? Ships hulls? Sails? Oh, wait, that's the Pirate contest 8-| I'll knock something up :-D Punny... *sing* I'd say 3, one part for head, torso and legs. That's how TLC counts them.
  13. Have any of you ever tried taking two ships and ramming them into each other? X-D Great fun, but ever so destructive! :-D
  14. Industrial, eh? I think I'll wait a while to see if I can find one somewhere else; I'm not that serious! :-P Thanks anyway *y* Unlike you, I like my bricks not to be blown up! ;-) As for the brick wall, I meant one with tiles beneath a section and on top, so it would slide out. Normal cannons can't destroy this, although Technic blasters can. Therefore, I'd like to get the power up to that of a Technic blaster. Without using explosives. :-D
  15. For Benk's sake, the Pirate King rank image hasn't been transferred ;-)
  16. Tell me what you want! *sweet* Or should I make up some? Shhh! *sing*
  17. A question about voting: How will people vote? -Most TLC? -One you'd buy? -Best Looking? -Best Built? This will affect how I build - TLC would include a cheesy <insert that tiresome argument> catapult for the Islanders, but this wouldn't be very good looking... 8-| Very well! My modualr ship shall be compatible with Kahuka's palm tree and my Imperial fort! X-D

    Harbor MOC

Wow! X-O I need to go big now! X-D I can't find those skeletons! :'-( Guess I need to do more Where's Wally? *sing* However, I don't think the roof of the red and yellow building (and some others) looks too great with a variety of techniques; I would go for an all-plate roof instead, lying on top of the slopes, which fill in the gap. I also see you borrowed MicahBerger's goat X-D How long will you keep this? Will it be expanded? Only there isn't a frontpage... ;-) Thumbnails with a description would do well! Alternately, in the BS folder you could add a number before each of the picture names, so they will go in order as you would view them, not alphabetical ;-) I actually didn't notice that any were decals until I went looking for them! :-D I guess you've got a steady hand! *y*
  19. Yahoo! It wasn't that good in London though - it didn't settle on the roads and it's all melted already *sing* But not my snowman! :-P Actually it snowed really properly in February last year; I got the day off school :-D Did you make it walk in the snow?
  20. Welcome" *y* Well what do you expect with a name like that? X-D And how do you pronounce it? Flight or flute? I've always pronounced it flute, but I don't really know... *sad* Perhaps you can build one! *sweet*
  21. Whilst working on my It's a Pirate's life entry, I found that it was very difficult to get the standard cannons to trigger anything (exploding wall e.t.c). So I wanted to increase their power. First step: take the cannon apart. I did this by pressing the circled indent with a blunt nail and lodging my fingernail in the gap that appeared between the components. Keeping my nail in the gap, I did the same on the other side. All the insides fell out *sweet* So then we have the 4 parts, from left to right: -The barrel -The two-pronged shuttle -The spring -The end cap Now to increase the power. As the cannon works by compressing the spring when you pull the pin and releasing the energy to strike the cannonball with the prongs, the way to increase the power would be to increase the potential energy storage of the spring. My attempts: 1. I inserted two springs into one cannon. This actually decreased the power of the cannon as there was a lower storage capacity as some was already used up as they had to be compressed to fit them. Furthermore, as the ends of the spring were uncompressable, the ratio of uncompressable spring to potential storage increased. 2. I looked for another spring. I couldn't find a suitable replacement, as most springs were too narrow (especially biro ones) or too wide. The dimensions of the spring are 22mm long, with a diameter of 6mm and a 2mm gap between each coil. Does anyone know where you can buy/find such a spring? I tried my local craft store, but they didn't have any springs... *sad* Are there any other ways to increase the power? - A piece of bendy metal? A compressable material e.g. foam? Has anyone else tried this?
  22. Yes, I rushed them as I needed to photomograph it before it got dark and started raining *sing* It does. You mean you didn't have one when you were born? X-D It's a good thing I rarely use BURPs... :-D Well then, I'll start putting in tiny windmills if you want! :-P
  23. Firstly, many people like to give comments once many entries have come in :-) It's very nice, but not that TLC; they wouldn't do a tiled floor and the playability for a younger audience is low. Furthermore, the cannons would be firing, but you can't help that ;-) (maybe). It's a nice MOC though, and maybe once the contest is over you could create a seperate thread for it... *y*
  24. [pid][/pid] Last full MOC before I enter the Pirate contest... *sweet* And, of course, the Islanders (and monkeys) are winning and thir vanquished foes will meet a culinary end :-D I have finally decided that Achu is now a member of the tribe, and the wizard/mage/wise-man/Amazonian-priest at that! :-) The first photomograph doesn't show this, but the beach curves upwards... Enjoy! :-P
  25. I'll always call it Block Block. >:-(
