    Baker rifle

The cocking elements on the baker rifle seem a little over detailed; they may turn out to be like the tongue on the snake: it breaks off very easily. The many lines on the periwig make it seem very detailed, but I guess that it'll disappear in real life. I wonder - how strong would that tail/tassle be?

    Baker rifle

These are looking good My only slight concern is that they are a little over-detailed, so may not fit in with the general Lego design aesthetic that well. However, given that you're probably going the full way with your army (decals, custom hats e.t.c.), it probably won't matter
  3. Firstly, whilst I haven't been following the EBWIPHTMLBBCGCSEMBEMOCSNOTLOLROFLCCBwhatever , I like what you're doing here A lot! Given that No. 1 seems to be the winner, a few comments on the design - - Tiles on the window sills? It seems that you variate between tiled and untiled floors, but it would be more consistent to tile the window sills when the floor is tiled. I'd go with light grey, although dark grey or bley could give a nice accent. If you're looking for a non-parts intensive design, tiling won't help, as you may need to recess the into the wa;; beneath, or raise the arches and columns by 1 plate. -The 1x2 log bricks won't match the round bricks on the ends when they're all connected together. For this reason, I prefer the arches in number 4. You could implement a system whereby you use 1x2 log bricks at one end, so it sticks out, but slides into the next hall section, where there is a slot for it. -I can't say I'm a fan of the 1x4x2 arches; plus, you could extend the column decoration up by 1 brick if you use normal 1x4 arches. -Is there any reason for using studs instead of 1x1 plates for the module connections? I'm assuming that you'll do corner sections as well? Really good job

  5. Ooh, I'd say that's quite expensive. I got a crow for 80 cents and the Sinner Walrus MKII for $1.40 on BL. I'm not sure how much my others cost, as they were a present. It really does depend on their rarity, although it seems a bit of a lottery on BL sometimes...

  8. Check the Land Based MOC index. I don't think there are any battle MOCs as such, but there are things from that era, such as forts. There may be some in the MOCs based on Paintings index.

  11. Thanks for the replies Actually it looks really stupid, as the cloud is smaller than the tornado I did take some photos like that, but it makes more sense to me to have a dark wizard appearing in a cloud somewhere rather than half a dark wizard chasing a tornado in a tiny cloud machine I don't get you Or the wizard targeted him? I did originally have another knight's head sticking out the tornado, but it looked stupid as the tornado is so small...
  12. Great review Whilst out of the whole theme I only own half of the Elephant Caravan (figs + elephant), I'm pretty well aquainted with it, from my friends' (all now in Dark Ages) collections, and from studying the pictures in magazines and catalogues. It's the sort of theme (the Adventurers in general) I wish would be revisited - all sorts of fantastic places, people and parts. -Egypt (Indy > Last Crusade, Raiders) -Jungle (Indy > Temple of Doom, Raiders) -Dino Island (Jurassic Park 1, 2, 3) -China + Himalayas (Indy > Raiders) -India (Indy > Temple of Doom) All in all, Johnny Thunder (or Sam Grant as he was known to begin with), is the typical action-adventure hero, standing in for any of the films of the time. My main complaint about the Orient Expedition line is the characters, as you said: in the 3 first Adventurers lines, aside from the 4 main characters who remained constant throughout - Pharoah Hotep (Egypt) Lizard Boots/Sly Boots (Egypt) Achu (Jungle) Senor Palomar (Jungle) Gabarros (Jungle) Max Villano/Rudo Villano (Jungle) Mike (Dino Island) Alexis Sinister (Dino Island) Mr Cunningham (Dino Island) Harry Cane (Desert, Jungle) My main peeves there are the loss of the various non-theme specific figures (for example, you can't have the Pharoah on Dino Island) - the other bad guys: Alexis, Sinister's wife, Lizard Boots, the rich sponsor, Senor Palomar, the crime lord and Cunningham, Max and Gabarros, the henchmen. Then there's the good guys too: Harry Cane, the pilot (incidentally, in the Adventurers line Johnny Thunder drives a car with the number plate HC 515) and Mike (the photographer from the Lost World), the naive kid. Sure, I love the figures in each setting, but I'd like to see a larger, more continuous cast, as was seen with Alpha Team through its various guises (normal, underwater, snow). There was a rich array of possibility which was sadly missed out on (although this partly happened in Dino Island). I think we're about due for another of these expanding themes (realistically set on Earth, but in a place which is abnormal for a Lego theme) -Western (1996) -Adventurers: Desert, Jungle (1998) -Ninja (1999) -Dino Island (2000) -Orient Expedition (2003) -Vikings (2005)
  13. Toothpaste can work, although it will scratch the piece more than brasso as it cleans by abrasion, whereas brasso works chemically.

  22. Indexed! I'm glad we're including Steampunk ships (although we'll have to draw the line somewhere) now Wow, that would be huge!
  23. I'll index those on Boxing Day - I've been far too busy today to do anything :pir_laugh: In the index! (I think ) Ta-daa! Both in the index, although the first is only in the Islander MOC index - I'll sort that out when I next index Please do! I'm always stuck for inspiration when it comes to ships, especially as I like to do something "new" most of the time! Speaking of which, I really should index Hinckley's steampunk ship, which heavily influenced mine!

    Pet Peeves

It sounds like Lego, it's shaped like a box of Lego, and lo and behold, it's not Lego! I've got identical notches in my middle fingers from seperating plates, which come back even when I cut them!
