  1. Looks very nice! Much better than the official set, anyway
  2. The snowspeeder in particular looks very impressive. Good job!
  3. That would be nice. Likewise, reviving the Archie characters as Lego minifigures would've been absolutely bombastic
  4. Those look amazing! Sure, the AT-DP's forward-mounted cannon looks weird, but the rest is absolutely splendid! Great job!
  5. Who said that they wanted to kill Leia? The troopers sure were shooting to kill, but not at Leia precisely! If they were planning to let them escape from the very beginning, why were the troopers shooting at them with deadly blasters and why did the TIE pilots attack the Falcon? Tarkin explicitly says: "I'm taking an awful risk, Vader. This had better work". This means that he didn't approve of Vader's plan from the very beginning and only accepted it because the Rebels escaped Why am I explaining this? And besides, if the troopers were instructed not to shoot to kill, why didn't they set their blasters to stun? And how do you explain this line:
  6. Thanks for the reminder! I still don't think this assumption was fully correct. They DID try to thwart their escape, but gave up very soon - this is how I view the situation. Tracking the Falcon was an emergency plan, to which they ultimately resorted
  7. Such a majestic castle! Looks absolutely gorgeous. Something you cannot do at minifigure scale, obviously... Great job!
  8. Creeper looks awesome. I hope they are going to realise a better Creeper minifigure someday - the one we've got doesn't look really accurate to me
  9. When were we explicitly told that? Yes, Vader's idea (disapproved by Tarkin) was to track the Rebels back to their fortress, but he never ordered the troops to let them walk alive on-screen. The troopers obviously shoot to kill while pursuing the gang in the corridors - and miss, but it's hard to blame them in context. I won't even comment on Ben Kenobi's stormtrooper line. It's a clear indication that something is wrong Judging by their portrayal in the OT, the stormtroopers aren't the elite by any means - they are ordinary soldiers who have little chances to hit a small number of fast-moving targets
  10. Here's my small squad of Bluecoats: I only recently bought them to an acceptable condition. I had an Idea of using them for a Steampunk of Miyazaki-eaque fantasy MOC. I also have four CMF sailors
  11. @PunchAndJewelee, rejoice: I started crafting JLU characters! My first minifigure... No, it's not Wonder Woman, but Huntress! Instead of painting Batwoman's cowl black and purple, I decided to use a paper mask instead. It was very hard to achieve, and it doesn't look that good, but I am quite satisfied with the result. Hope you like it!
  12. Many Star Wars fans enjoyed the Rebels TV show while criticizing its art style. Funny me - I hated Rebels but enjoyed many of its designs, especially TIE fighters with short solar panels (they looked so cute! ) and, among other things, the thin lishtsabers (they looked elegant IMO). Why am I typing this? Watching Darth Vader and Ben Kenobi's duel from ANH, I noticed that Vader's lightsaber looks somewhat thinner and considerably longer, than Obi-Wan's. Different sources claim that it was a production error; Legends claimed that Vader had a dual-phase lightsaber, which could change its length. Nevertheless, I want to stay faithful to the movie in my Lego creations, so I custom-crafted this long and thin lightsaber blade from a 8H antenna whip part. It's barbaric, but hey, it looks decent IMHO. Such a method could also be employed for Rebels-style lightsabers. Not yet, but I am planning to. I shall post them as soon as they are ready (not soon... ). Firestar toys posted an article on the subject on their blog
  13. Those are very beautiful hydroplane models. I appreciate your work
  14. On a positive note, K-2S0 minifigures might become more affordable now, so that we can build armies of Imperial enforcer droids... On a negative note, that might not happen...
  15. Maybe it's because on the Breeze texture eyebrows are separate? I dunno, actually
  16. The new Venator on Flickr looks absolutely amazing! The idea of motorizing it is unusual, yet interesting and nicely executed. Awesome! As for the 2013 Venator... We all started somewhere, constantly improving our building skills. After all, isn't it the entire point?.. It does look very cute though
  17. I'd say that a green Duros minifigure is good news, since they were green when first introduced in ANH. Would be useful for my project Turbo tank instead of UT-AT is a great disappointment indeed. I don't remember any Turbo tanks on Mygeeto when Mundi was killed
  18. Yeah, I agree that my proposal is not a better solution than what we have now. Thanks for visualising, though.
  19. In the game they are 1.5 times taller than the player. Their Lego figures are, like, almost 2 times taller than an ordinary minifigure. It looks weird
  20. Looks recognisable, but not utterly accurate. I do think the horizontal shape (wing/integral fuselage) of the model can be improved further (especially the rear parts of the wing - the front is obviously tougher).
  21. My issue with official Lego Endermen is that they are too tall and, as it seems to me, a little too flat. My suggestion, though, also has its flaws - I didn't take in account that Endermen have thinner legs
  22. Am I the only person to wish Lego Endermen were regular minifigures with long arm and leg pieces (like Avatar and old Toy Story ones)? Sure, they wouldn't be able to hold blocks in their hands like they do now, yet something tells me that would be a better solution. Besides , new hand/arm pieces could be designed to allow holding blocks for such minifigures
