Thank you all for a great game, it was a fun experience playing as the scum for my first time. Good job Quarryman on some excellent hosting, I hope our next pair of entertainers are just as good. You made some nice MOCs to add to the story, there were some interesting twists and characters, and all in all a high quality production of each day. Just what we want in this forum. I'll go fetch my official "Whip of Regulation in the Department of Gaming". That will dish out some serious 6d96 damage. I was subtly encouraging them all privately.

My goodness you lucky, lucky thing. As for me, I am an avid book collector, I do a lot of reading and always buy my books rather than borrow from a library. I am a great fan of science fiction and fantasy, but also have a collection of non-fiction books including histories, philosophy, science etc. My dad always comments that when he wants to read a good book, he just has to visit my library. I was also once a bit of a coin collector, and have a small cupboard full of various NZ coins mostly, as well as some others. Lots of Iraqi banknotes too, although they have more sentimental value. I used to collect model trains, with a focus on Marklin, which is a very nice German brand of miniatures, very high quality. I have alas sold most of that collection now to fund my expanding passion for Lego. As much as I enjoyed them, they weren't really as enjoyable as a hobby for me.

I believe it may have something to do with the Aprahanti menstrual cycle, but don't quote me on it.

Hinck, it would be an honour to play in one of your games. This sounds so exciting already, my tail is twitching. I love it when a host promises death in one of these games, it just makes it all the more exciting. Nice to see you in this forum too Sieggy, it is good to see old gamers returning. Lovely picture by the way, very spooky.

OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
Dragonator replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Most certainly, you are next on the list. I'm glad to hear you're all ready so soon! Shadows had his doubts. Post it up whenever you feel like it. It's true I did. -
Thank you all for an enjoyable game, although I was certain you would all get me because I was rather obvious in places. I had fun playing the killer, and there were some good moments. Thanks Zepher for hosting, good job on your part for sticking with it to the end. Well yes, of course. I would be doing that anyway. Wouldn't everyone? Oh I left it over in the monastery, sorry about that. Ruby anyone?

At the moment I too am at a lose for who to vote for. I want to work through this logically before voting, rather than jumping on any bandwagons. I do think that at least one of the current suspects has to be infected, so I'm trying to work through that and decided which one I think seems most likely. I must agree that all this voting and unvoting is a little confusing, but I am starting to get a picture of who is against who and such. Maybe this will make sense to me after some lunch.

I must say that this is one of my favourites too, what an interesting idea to base a MOC on. You've pulled it off really well, and included lots of interesting things to look at. Two features which really jumped out at me when I first saw it were the use of a black outline for the windows, and the lovely damaged roof. Both are very nice details that have been well executed. The overall composition is well laid out, with the indoor section, the entrance, the vegetable garden and the are out back nicely divided up with walls and gates. I thought the drain pipe and barrel were a nice addition, lots of interesting things hidden away in corners here. I have to love the fence technique in the back section. I also wonder about the buttresses, the middle one looks like it is almost piercing that window. I presume they are unevenly spaced to allow for the wall separating the garden, and the entrance door? Lovely fountain by the way. In terms of the interior, I have to say my favourite part is the ceiling area, with the lovely gargoyles and the hanging chandeliers. I think the floor area could do with some sort of mosaic or tile detailing, but it looks fine as it is. It just looks a little plain compared with the detailed ground outside. I must say I'm personally not such a great fan of the white walls, they look a little odd to me with all the greys mixed in, but I can see the idea behind it. I guess it just doesn't appeal so much to me, considering the area above the pillars is all grey. It is a nice use of discoloured white pieces, too. I really like the three pillars in there, a nice detail as apposed to simply using round bricks. Can't say I am quite getting what the tape recording piece is meant to represent around the altar, some sort of carving detail I presume. The cross is a neat design, very good use of parts there. One thing I don't quite understand is that from the slope of the roof on the outside and the half of the other window that can be seen further up the wall, it appears that this room is meant to give the impression of being much larger than what you have built. Why then, is the altar not central? I just get the impression that it is off to the side, and that only half the room is shown in the diorama, if you get what I mean. Is this meant to be a side chapel perhaps? Overall an excellent job SlyOwl, from the monks to the interesting fight scenes and the great technique use in the architecture, this is a very well presented MOC. I wish you the best of luck in the contest, you are sure to do well.

I have to agree that this is a tricky situation we are now in. The lovers are battling it out, and we are left to try and figure out which one is fighting on our side to get rid of the wicked wiener, and which one is lying desperately through their teeth. And I can tell you, it is hard to distinguish. Both crew members present a compelling argument, which makes it very hard for me to figure out which way I will vote. I am going to review some of the surveillance files before making my decision, as I think we really need to go by our own instincts here and try to avoid being swayed by the cases set forth by these two individuals. If we all vote by what we feel is right, then I think we will lynch the correct person, the one with the wiener. This whole situation needs to be solved now, we can't be putting it off for another day.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Dragonator replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I got a couple of nice deals in the 20% off Lego at the Warehouse last weekend. I thought I should mention that the Lyall Bay store still had 2 7754 Home One sets left, discounted at $190 instead of the retail $250 on S@H, so if anyone is searching for those that's the place to go in Wellington. I have been unable to find the Pirate Tank or the Shipwreck Hideout (both red shed exclusives) anywhere in the region though. The red Creator dragon also seems to have slipped me by. ToyWorld has got the Emerald Night in stock at $200 if anyone is interested, might not be at all stores as there was a limited number delivered to NZ. Might also be worth mentioning that the special minifigs coming out next year, the 16 ones in that promo campaign, will be coming to NZ, I know that ToyWorld stores will be ordering a few boxes each. Accordingly there will be 2 waves as well. While I'm here, I should probably mention that while your TM links are very much appreciated Commander Fox, perhaps you could tone down the excessive use of exclamation marks. Thanks for that. -
Losing our night vigilant is going to cost us, but hopefully we can make it up today by finally voting off one of the real infected. There has been much confusion recently over whether people are what they claim to be, but I think we are starting to get a clearer idea of what is going on now, even if it is a little late. Personally I have someone in mind that I will likely vote for as well, and I will be interested to see how everyone else votes. This day may be very revealing for us all, I should say.

~ The Mafia Games Index ~ Welcome to the Mafia Games Index, where you can find everything you want to know about past, current and future Mafia games here on Eurobricks. Ever since their introduction to the site, a large group of EB members have enjoyed the fun and excitement that comes from playing these community-based games. Mafia, while ultimately about strategy, survival and tactics, also promotes teamwork, critical thinking, and community interaction. Playing in these games is a great way to get to know other members more, and to further enhance and challenge your creative thinking skills. As well as this, you are guaranteed to have an enjoyable time, with all sorts of hilarious situations arising. If you are interested in playing a Mafia game, then simply read through some of the past games, familiarise yourself with the rules, and sign up for the next Mafia School game. You will need to pass a Mafia School game before you can sign up for the more advanced games. While you won't always get in the first time, the best way to get in is to be a positive and well-spoken individual, to respect our fellow players and game hosts, to post maturely in all parts of the board and to be seen as reliable. Remember that playing in these games is a privilege, not a right. It is also important to remember that playing a Mafia game requires a time commitment for at least a month to two months, varying between games. If you are not willing to commit the time to playing, then these games are not for you. If you are interested in hosting a Mafia game, then you will need to contact the Games Moderator (Dragonator) privately. Hosting a Mafia game is a big responsibility, and permission to host will not be granted lightly. If you want to seriously be considered as a future game host, you need to have displayed your competence at Mafia game playing in several games (at least 3 full games), have a clear understanding of the rules and the role a host plays in the game, and to have demonstrated your ability to show deep thinking and imagination in crafting a fun and exciting game to play. You then need to provide a game summary to the Games Moderator, outlining your idea in such a way that it does not give away any crucial plot details or prevents anyone who reads it from playing the game. You will also need to provide a banner for the game, the rules you intend to use and let me know your Mafia experience as well as why you think you would make a good host. You will be required to invest a lot of time and effort into creating character roles and building scenery and sets for the game. Lastly, the game will need to be produced in an aesthetically pleasing and professional manner. It must be carefully planned and well executed to make the game enjoyable for the players. If you take a hosting slot and aren't ready when your time comes around you will be moved to the end of the list after discussion with the Games Moderator. From what we know of the events over the last few days, I am fairly confident we are making the right decision with this, and so I will support the vote for Engofi like I mentioned yesterday. After discussing this, it is now time to take action, for otherwise we will learn nothing. We do need a conviction today, and he is looking the most fishy to me. Err, and not just because he's a fish. Vote: Engofi (Eskallon)
-
I'm sorry you think that way my friends, all I want to do is go home. You honestly think a man of the church would start murdering people he has never met before in some creepy house? It sounds unlikely to me. What I want to know is what has happened to Faisser. I know I am not the killer, so going off your logic Florence, I would have to point my finger at Johnson. Pointing fingers however isn't really going to get us anywhere. We should be looking for facts, and I am sure there must be some around here somewhere...
-
After everything we went through yesterday, all it has achieved us is the lose of another uninfected crew member, and our investigator at that. Even though he was getting wrong results, he could still have been useful to us. The question now is, why was there only a single death last night, and why were these plans Micheal is talking about not carried through? I think we need an explanation and fast, because we are definitely going to be making a conviction today. At the moment La'H'Rok is looking extremely suspicious to me, and I look forward to his explanation of what happened last night. With the death of Barney, I too wonder about Engofi as well, it seems highly likely to me that Barney was insane, or else there was some other factor we don't know about.
-
It would be worth noting that some of the busy staff (namely me and Shadows) have some exciting plans already lined up for next year, but unfortunately you will need to be patient and wait for them to be revealed. All I can say right now, is that if they are realised, we will have something fun for you next year that I think all you EBRP players will very much enjoy. I can't say more though, as we are still in the planning stage, but the ideas that we have been throwing around these last couple of months certainly have the potential to be something awesome! As to the EBRP, I have no objection to this starting up again if there is sufficient interest. The Adventure Thread is still there from when I last tried to give it a kick-start, so feel free to continue where we all left off.
-
If I might add, we are beginning to run out of time today, the evening is fast approaching and we are yet to come to a decision. Personally I believe that not acting when we have a chance to is only aiding the infected, and it is clear that they have tried to stop us from acting today by spreading all this confusion. I would suggest that if we can, we should try and come to some sort of decision today, as that way we won't be wasting valuable time and giving the infected the upper hand. The fact is we need to make a decision based on what we know right now, as hard as that is going to be. As I see it, we can either vote off our fishy friend Engofi to test Barney's scanning skills, or we can focus on one of the other numerous people who has drawn attention today. Whatever we do, we need to do it fast, so perhaps if everyone could step forward and let us know what they think we should do? We aren't getting more information anytime soon, unfortunately, so we have to run with what we have. Since this little situation seems to have at least come to a stalemate, shall we go with Engofi? I have gut feeling about him being uninfected, but I have been wrong in the past. If the rest of you don't feel confident testing Barney's scanner in this way, then I can't really see anything else we can do in the short time remaining to us that will help us come to any decision. Thoughts?
-
I unfortunately have to agree, there is a killer among us, but we are still no closer to discovering who that person is, which is frankly quite disappointing. Surely we must know something by now? A few things still concern me. Where is that diary? Where is Faisser, what has he to do with all this, and why is he intent on killing us? Why are we even here in the first place if he did not invite us? Why did Florence have a fish? Why do I feel so hungry looking at that fish? Well, that's probably because we seem to keep forgetting to eat, but still... Right, let's see if we can actually figure something out today. Suggestions and observations, anyone? This library must contain something that can help us...
-
Well, after my questions this morning, I must admit that your responses have more than overwhelmed me. This day has been one of many conflicting stories, but I think we are beginning to now find something amongst the madness. I must admit that earlier I was at a lose for words, a rare thing for a language specialist. One thing is certain; the infected have been pumping very hard today with all this talk and all these opposing theories, the only question is, which of them are the work of the infected, and which are truth? Right now I don't have a definite idea either way, but I do see some validity in the arguments of our lieutenant commander. As has been asked by her and Michael already, why did the infected killer not strike last night if La'H'Rok is the uninfected vigilant? I think the answer to this question may well clear up a lot of the confusion we are under at the moment, but alas, I don't think we are going to get one. After being mislead in my voting yesterday, I am less inclined to vote today without thinking a bit more, because I really don't want to get this wrong, particularly when we are possibly risking some of our most useful crew members in this search to find the wieners. At the moment I am inclined to believe Antares, as despite her aggressive attitude she is speaking some sense, or at least is making more sense to me amongst all the madness today. I think I need to review the recording of the discussions so far before I make a final decision, as it is very difficult to get a clear picture of our current situation with all the insults flying everywhere...
