I agree with this, it makes the most sense in my opinion. The main drive behind most primitive alien species is reproduction and their own life cycle, and so a likely reason for them attacking us would be because by infecting us we somehow help them in his. I'm no medical expert, but I have heard of cases like this over my years of service as a language specialist.
-
I don't think the situation we are dealing with is a disease, but rather these strange alien lifeforms are actually bonding with their victims, thus "infecting" them. This is the impression I am getting from the video footage, at least. We cannot, of course, rule out the possibility of a viral disease though, but unless we see more information I am inclined to think that this is a case of a parasite taking over a host, or something of that nature. Any other thoughts, people?

If this infection is carried through the air then we could all be doomed already. That's a scary thought. It is my belief however that the exploring party took a number of other sausage samples, and these have been released by Dr. Feynman and are now roaming amongst us: I fear some of us have already been infected... Thank you, you are right, this situation calls for calm discussion. It's just with the death of the Captain and the threat of rampaging sausages on the ship, I am feeling rather flustered. Oh dear, not the pumpkin jokes again... *sigh* Edna, be careful, don't get too close! We don't know how this thing spreads yet, best to be cautious. I agree with this, these bodies have the potential to still be carrying the infection, and since we don't really know the nature of it yet, we should be as cautious as we can. It seems harsh to dispose of the body of our dear Captain in such a way, but I'm sure he would agree that it is for the best.

As a language specialist I feel completely helpless in our current situation. It is clear these strange "space wieners" have no intention of communicating with us, but rather just to wipe us out. Oh the horror! May the soul of our dear captain rest in peace; he died alerting us to this problem, and we will remember him for all the good times. I do not know what will happen to our expedition now, but we definitely need to smoke out these aliens quickly before anything worse happens around here. We cannot let our mission be endangered.
-
Oh dear, we still don't appear to have found anything. Either there is nothing to find, or we are looking in the wrong places. Lord Faisser must be upstairs, we should proceed with caution when going up, considering his mental state. We should try and avoid provoking him to kill any more of us.

Infection - Confirmation & Discussion

No, I don't think they would appreciate that. Hello everyone, I am Ernev Seluj, your language specialist for this mission. If you don't know, I am a Hsiknarf language specialist, and it is my job interpret and translate all dialect with any unknown aliens we encounter. Space is a dangerous place, and communication is vital to prevent unnecessary misunderstands. -
Thank you Baker, that is most interesting. I didn't get to read it, but it sure sounds strange, and confirms there is something up here. Clearly, this treasure is dangerous, we shall have to tread cautiously. I for one don't know where we should go now, but I agree we need to look around some more and try to get to the bottom this situation. Our host is clearly mad and either out to get us or so far gone that he could turn on anyone. We should be careful, and stay as a group. We can return to the basement, or we could look around one of the rooms we haven't visited up here yet. I don't mind either way, as long as nobody starts punching me again. I am still waiting on a confession for that. I would like to inspect the mathematics problems in Rudy's notebook, there may be some clue hidden in the workings on that page, perhaps a code or something.

Mystical Castle - Conclusion
Dragonator replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If you had not gone after your "balance", the wizard, then the confrontation would not have been shown, and it would have been the "uneventful night" post. However since you targeted the wizard, and since it was part of the game that all conflicts between the wizard and the sorcerer at night would be shown as the balance to your powerful night-killing ability, the whole thing was posted as part of the day post. If you had targeted another person, this confrontation would not have been shown. -
Mystical Castle - Conclusion
Dragonator replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Unfortunately that's just how the night actions turned out. If you had chosen to attack any other person, you probably would have survived a lot longer, but someone I suspect succumbed to metagaming. The combination of you being blocked, attacked by the assassin and attacking the wizard, your "balance" player in this game, led to the events of the night, which were quite standard in terms of the usual information given at the beginning of a day on what happens during the night. If you had not attacked your "balance" player, then the information would not have been given out. Still, you played well, it was just unfortunate for you that the actions of several other players combined with your own action led to the inevitable result. I hope you have better luck in Infection. -

Let me be the first to say that I would definitely like to play. Looks fun, Quarry. -
You reasoning seems sound, it would certainly be good if we really are rid of that murderous madman. I guess we will find out soon enough, won't we? The absence of the journal is troubling, where can it have gone? Who took it, and were did they put it? We need to finish reading that. As to this gun, I do not think we should give it to anyone who has a bullet; we cannot be certain they do not have some other reason for wanting to look after it. Personally, I think we should keep the weapon separated from the ammunition as well as we can, to avoid any possibility of future conflict. Going by that, either someone needs to give up their bullet, or the gun should be given to either Mr. Baker or myself. I would be happy to entrust it to Mr. Baker if nobody disagrees, although it really doesn't matter who has it as long as hey don't also have a bullet.
-
My goodness, what a night! I feel terrible, whoever punched me has a mighty good swing, I'll give them that. *groan* I would still very much like to know who did that, I am willing to offer my forgiveness as a man of the Lord if you would only own up please. His Holiness teaches forgiveness, but for there to be forgiveness there must be confession. I really don't know what to think right now, but we do need to find out who stole that journal, it appeared to have some vital information in it that might explain the presence of this madman amongst us. It is too bad we didn't get a chance to finish reading it. And it would seem we have another victim amongst us, Rudy our dear professor. I will pray to the Lord for his safe passage to Heaven, he seemed a good and honorable man from the little time I have had to get to know him here. We must put a stop to this madness soon, before we are all wiped out by this madman that is here amongst us.

OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
Dragonator replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
After some consideration of how voting has been handled in games up to this point, the following rule adjustment is being made to the "standard" EB rules. Rule Update: In a standard mafia day, lasting 4 real days, players may not vote in the first 24 hours. On another note, I would like to congratulate JimButcher, who, after an excellent performance in Mystical Castle combined with his previous contributions to Mafia games, has earned himself a Mafia Appreciation tag. Good job, and well deserved. -
Mystical Castle - Conclusion
Dragonator replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The sudden death rules, as they were called, simply gave an extra advantage or disadvantage to different people during the night. For example, some people's actions were less likely to succeed, some more likely to succeed, some people were protected from being killed, others were protected from other actions. It depended. They didn't really apply that much in the game since there was only one sudden death night; it would have been interesting if there were a few more, but things just didn't pan out that way. -

Good job everyone for a very enjoyable game, it was a lot of fun to host, and I'm glad you all enjoyed it. I have here a record of the night actions. Finally, on Ricecracker's death Quarryman's action was replaced by the assassin role. Stash2Sixx, as the First Dragon (Godfather Role), appeared as a loyal citizen to any investigation. Some roles had different limitations, for example Zepher could only block men (unless it was a sudden death night), TinyPiesRUs had a 50% success rate for night kills, Svelte could only protect against magic attacks etc. There will be a quick update of a few rule additions in the main discussion thread sometime in the next few days. -
It was midday, and the sun was shining down brightly into the grand hall of Matidoer Castle. The castle residents gathered angrily around Ambassador Ralf Simnel of the People's Republic of Hamenweir, ready to convict him to die, charged with being a traitorous dragon. "You are all fools", sneered the Ambassador. "While you may have found the last of us, your efforts will prove useless in the long run. There will be no Alliance of the Three Nations, in fact, there was never going to be one in the first place. Hamenweir is already under the leadership of our great leader, and with the efforts of my fellows and I, your lands very soon will fall so as to be reunited as a part of the great Draconian Empire. I am proud to have served my leader faithfully, and to have helped in allowed for this noble reform to occur. The Kingdom of Matidoer is finished, you will not survive this." "See him!", shouted Chef Walter Angrily. "Even when faced with certain death, he continues to lie through his teeth, just like his fellow zealots. What he says in untrue; we have finally defeated the evil that is the Dragons. With his death, they will be purged from this planet, and good riddance too, I might add. " "You don't know how wrong you are", chuckled the Ambassador. "But enough of that, you will find out soon enough. Allow me now to gloat at your stupidity. You see, all this time I have been manipulating you, and you didn't even know it. You think we dragons would just leave letters around where anyone could find them? No, I have framed many of you throughout this whole escapade, and it even worked once, when I framed my fellow Ambassador, Sirion Vipont, to appear as one of us. Personally, I was very pleased with the outcome of that particular deception. In fact, I still have the offending letter here with me, if you would believe." Holding up the letter, the Ambassador smiled smugly, pleased to see the shocked reactions of the crowd on hearing his news. "But we've got you now", said Nicholas the Dromindurian Guard. "You may have been clever, but we outwitted you." "Yes, you have caught me, I admit", sighed Ambassador Simnel. "You were better than we expected from people not sworn to the greatness of Dragonkind. Nevertheless, your time has run out, for very soon you will suffer for your betrayal of your history and your people." "Enough of this!", cried Nicholas angrily. "As the newly appointed executioner after you managed to trick us into killing off Captain Geoffrey, I will end this right now. This is for your manipulation of Ambassador Vipont, you sick bastard!" Rushing towards the Ambassador, Nicholas pulled out a knife. Ambassador Simnel quickly raised his arm to ward him off. "Now wait just a minute", he hastily gabbled. "If I can distract you just a little longer I might survive this." Nicholas was not stopping for anything though. With a quick, precise movement, he stabbed Ralf Simnel in the gut. "Long live the Draggaaahh!!", gasped the Ambassador as he fell to the floor. Just then, the people heard a thunderous crash from out the front of the castle. Turning, they looked towards the entrance foyer, but could not see anything in there. "What in the name of the Almighty was that?", wondered Hugh. "Sounded like it came from up near the gatehouse", muttered Peter. "Screw the children, won't somebody just think of me!?", exclaimed Agnes. When no further sound could be heard, the residents collectively let out a heavy sigh, and relaxed a little. Just then, a loud concussion filled the hall, and a blindingly bright light exploded forth from the main entrance. Shielding their eyes, the residents looked away from the source of such a display of raw power. Apparently, the residents had some visitors. Two men stood in the ruined entrance foyer, one of which the castle residents knew very well. The residents stood in shocked silence, starring at the strange sight before them. Their eyes were drawn to the second figure, who pushed past the handsome robed man and ran into the grand hall, a triumphant smile plastered across his face. It was Lord Griffin, the Dragon who had escaped them several days earlier. Stopping before them, he raised his hand theatrically and addressed the ragged residents. "My dear friends", he began heartily. "How nice it is to see you all again. After you convicted me, I went straight to my master, and now we are here to finish you off. I am proud to say that I am the First Dragon, the leader of the group who has caused you such suffering during these past days. I was the one who ordered the deaths of many of your fellows, and it was I who lead the Dragons in their first attack on this castle. Now, my master and I are here to finish that job, so that the Dragons may live on forever as the mightiest rulers of this great land. Prepare to meet your makers, my friends, as we-" "Yeah, that's about enough from you", interrupted the robed figure as he raised his hand. Lord Griffin turned to the robbed figure in confusion. "You failed me, Edward, and you know I don't accept failure. I had hoped I wouldn't need to deal to these people personally, but obviously if you want a job done right, you have to do it yourself these days. Goodbye." As the robed figure sent a charge of magic fire towards Lord Edward Griffin, the Lord threw up his hands in horror. Screaming, he shouted, "If only I'd had the chance to-". He was cut off by the consuming flames. A charred mess toppled to the floor. "I guess we'll never know what he wanted to do", muttered the robed figure. Turning to the cowering residents, he began to speak. "Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Lord Dragonator. I am sorry to inform you that your fun is now over. You have killed almost all my agents that I planted here, an effort which I congratulate you on, however now you have forced me to come deal with the last of you myself. You will now die for your betrayal of your land and your traditions. Any questions?" "I have a question", spoke up Walter hesitantly. "You said we have killed most of your agents. Surely you mean all?" "No no, there is still one of my people here amongst you", smiled Lord Dragonator coldly. The residents looked at each other in confusion. Who could it possibly be? The Queen coughed. "That would be me", she announced regally. The residents gasped and turned in surprise and shock to face her. "You filthy people make me sick", the Queen sneered. "How any person descended from the noble blood of the Dragon Knights could abandon their people and their traditions I do not understand, but I for one will not let it continue. Now that you know my true loyalty, I thinks it's about time I did this." Pulling out a knife from a well concealed pocket in her bodice, the Queen turned towards the King. The residents looked on in horror. "You can't kill our King!", they cried. "Don't do this to me Mary", the King pleaded. "Ha, just watch me", said the Queen gleefully as she stabbed the King through the middle. King Charles cried out in pain as his chair flew backwards, smacking into the rear wall. Blood poured from the gaping wound in his belly. "How could you betray us like this?", demanded Hugh. "Help me! Screw you all help me!!" screamed Agnes hysterically. Lord Dragonator coughed. The residents froze and, as one, turned towards him, looking to each other for comfort against their fears. "Now that you know the truth of your petty struggle and how futile it really was, I guess there is only one thing left to do." Lord Dragonator smiled. The residents gasped in terror as he ignited a flame above his hand. They tried to back away, but the Queen was an ever present threat behind them too. They were trapped, duped into believing they were fighting for the good of their fellow people against a terrible enemy, when really, they had just been fighting a decoy while the real threat arrived. "Agnes", muttered Walter. "Yes Walter", replied Agnes. "I... I just wanted to say..." "Yes?" "I don't love you at all. Those times in the kitchen meant nothing to me. Sorry" "Bastard", muttered Agnes, as the pair were blown apart by a blast of magic. "Woe unto us", sobbed Hugh. "We are most surely doomed, may the Lord have mercy upon us." "The Lord doesn't have mercy on the likes of us", replied Peter, winking at Hugh one last time. "Awww, come here Peter", said Hugh affectionately. "Oh my God, no!" screamed Peter in horror, as a loud snap was heard above them. "That's not what you said last night", smiled Hugh, completely unaware until the last moment when the great chandelier crushed them both. "Now, have I missed anyone?", wondered Lord Dragonator aloud. "Ah yes, you", he said jovially as his eyes fell on the motionless Nicholas who was standing shocked off to the side. "Too bad you didn't run, it would have made some nice sport." "You may have taken this Kingdom, Dragonator, but you will never take my homeland", said Nicholas bravely. "Ambassador Vipont has already left to go and inform our people that the Alliance is not going to happen." "On the contrary, dear Nicholas", chuckled Lord Dragonator. "I killed Sirion a number of days ago, and with him gone, my people in Dromindur are already acting to bring the popular support of the loyal citizens around to my side. The Draconian Empire shall live again, but without you, sir." With a look of defeat on his face, Nicholas stood straight as Lord Dragonator raised his hands and tore him in half. As his body fell to the floor with a thunk, quiet once more fell across the grand hall. It was a Grim sight. Lord Dragonator, surveyed the carnage with indifference as he watched the Queen carefully step down and walk towards him. "I thought you would never come!" exclaimed Queen Mary as she faced Lord Dragonator. "Whatever took so long?" "I had to deal with the shields Sirion left behind", replied Dragonator. "They were very powerful, that one had much potential, but I eventually unraveled them. Looks like I was just in time too, these people would probably have realized what was going on if I took another day. "Well, very good then" smiled the Queen. "Take me away from here, that King was such a bore!" Dragonator chuckled as he turned his back on the carnage and walked out of the castle with Queen Mary, off to see to the rest of his plans. Silence fell over the deserted castle. Not a soul was left alive. But then... a whisper. "I tried to warn them, but their pride would not allow them to be saved." sighed the Friar. "Who cares?", grunted the Sorcerer. "Stupid pigs. OINK!" "You certainly didn't help any", added the wizard, peevishly. "I wasn't supposed to!", the Sorcerer exclaimed. "Oh, that's right, because you're neutral", said the Wizard, rolling his eyes. "Exactly", agreed the Sorcerer. "Well, nice going telling all of your secrets to that stupid wife of yours", sneered the Wizard. "Guess you didn't know she was a dragon!" "Hey! You know I have a weakness for the ladies!", the Sorcerer chuckled. "Funny, I never heard that one in confession", commented the Friar. "You just shut up now!", scowled the Sorcerer. "Don't let him bother you, we all know about the Friar...", said the Wizard, winking. "You shut up, too!", growled the Friar. "Look, we can at least take satisfaction knowing that none of them did any better than us", stated the Wizard. "Yeah, look at them", said the Sorcerer in disgust. "The wages of sin...", muttered the Friar. "I never was paid nearly enough for all I did", commented the Sorcerer. "That's not what he means!", exclaimed the Wizard. "How should I know what he means, he speaks in riddles", complained the Sorcerer. "Why, I never!", exclaimed the Friar in outrage. "That's not what we've heard!", the Wizard laughed. As the trio continued to bicker with each other, life went on in the lands around the castle. Very soon, the events there would be but distant memories in the minds of people who had seen a lot of war in their lives; just another sacrifice on the road to redemption. For many, life had far greater tragedies in store, but that's another story, for another time. For the residents of Matidoer Castle, the chapter was ended, the story told, and the chronicles of their lives completed. ******************** Winning Players Hugh (Servant) played by WhiteFang Peter (Servant) played by Darth_Legois Agnes (Maid) played by Striker Nicholas (Guard) played by professor flitwick Chef Walter played by JimButcher The Deceased Ethel (Maid) played by Adam (Citizen): Convicted, Day 1 Lord William Harcourt played by Hinckley (Neutral): Convicted, Day 2 Gilbert (Guard) played by General Armendariz (Citizen): Killed, Night 2 Ambassador Sirion Vipont played by ImperialShadows (Citizen): Convicted, Day 3 Countess Margaret Durville played by TinyPiesRUs (Citizen): Killed, Night 3 Lady Beatrice Harcourt played by Zepher (Dragon): Convicted, Day 4 Duchess Juliana Dufay played by Alice (Citizen): Killed, Night 4 Simon (Librarian) played by I Scream Clone (Dragon): Convicted, Day 5 Lady Rohesia Papelion played by Sandy (Citizen): Killed, Night 5 Lord Edward Griffin played by Stash2sixx (Dragon): Convicted, Day 6 - Escaped Francis the Friar played by Svelte (Citizen): Killed, Night 6 Captain Geoffrey played by Escape the Fate (Citizen): Convicted, Day 7 Lieutenant Victor played by Bob the construction man (Citizen): Killed, Night 7 Richard (Guard) played by Ricecracker (Dragon): Convicted, Day 8 Admiral Thomas Mallory played by Sir Dillon (Citizen): Killed, Night 8 Ambassador Ralf Simnel played by Quarryman (Dragon): Convicted, Day 9

It was early morning, and the light was just beginning to get brighter when Admiral Mallory left his rooms for the final time. From the opposite side of the hall, a shadowy figure watched him go. The Admiral made his way around the upper gallery of the grand hall, on his way to the rooms of one of the castle residents. Unknown to him, however, a shadowy figure quietly followed behind. The Admiral turned to the right down a corridor with only one door partway down. He didn't have much time, dawn was fast approaching. Reaching the door, he peered through the window, and reached for the handle to open it. Just then, he heard a noise behind him. Startled, he turned. "Good morning Admiral", grinned a robbed figure. "Not you!", the Admiral gasped. "Surely we have killed all of your kind already?" "Apparently not", hissed the robbed figure. "You may have killed my fellows but I am still left, and as long as here is one of us our cause lives on." "You'll never take me alive!", shouted the Admiral angrily as he raised his hook in defiance. "Fair enough", agreed the robbed figure, and lopped off his head. With the carried moment of his swing, the head flew straight out into the hall. The robbed figure walked away, satisfied that it had begun its revenge of its colleagues. A bloody head and a decapitated body lay a silent testament to the ever present evil that still lurked in the castle. Not long after, when the sun was shining brightly through the high windows of the grand hall, the residents of the castle once again gathered to hear the news and continue their quest to purge the castle of the evil Dragons. Once everyone had gathered, the King made his morning announcements. "Fellow citizens, once again tragedy has struck during a victory for us. Last night Richard the guard was executed below in the dungeons, and my people were happy to report today that after a through search of his rooms he has been found to be a traitorous Dragon. I congratulate you on your fine work. However, last night, our dear Admiral Mallory was brutally murdered while out searching for signs of Dragons. His decapitated head is what we see before us. My people have informed me that he was most definitely a loyal Citizen, and will be sorely missed by all. Resigned to the fact that they would have to vote yet another person to go to their death, the citizens reluctantly resumed their discussions once more. A majority vote of 4 is required to convict. ******************** Rules of Play This game will follow the basic conventions of a Mafia Game. Each "day", you will be given 4 real days in which to vote for someone to kill. The day will end as soon as a majority decision is reached, or when the 4 days are up. If someone has been convicted, you will find out their loyalty shortly after end of the day. After this a night phase will begin, which will last 2 real days. Then the cycle will repeat. Those players with night actions must PM them to me during the night phase. If I do not receive them within the two days, they will not be counted. - There will be two main sides in the game. Your winning criteria will be included with your character PM. - Voting is to be done in the day thread, and should follow the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Please note the use of bold. This is the only format that will be accepted. To unvote someone, the same applies: Unvote: Character (Player). - You may not edit your posts. Violation of this rule may result in a moderator kill. - Please avoid posting out of character in the game thread. - Do not ever directly quote something the game moderator has sent to you via PM, whether it be your character information, night action results, or any other form of communication. Violation of this rule will result in a moderator kill. You may of course paraphrase any information you receive; if it is your own words then it is fine. - Do not discuss game tactics or "play the game" outside the game thread, including in the General Discussion thread. You may communicate privately via PM, but this is at your own risk, and should be considered part of playing the game. - Please be considerate towards the host. I will try my best to stick to the schedule, and your cooperation will help this greatly, particularly getting night actions in promptly. - Sudden Death rules, as outlined in your roles, will only apply on certain nights. You will be informed of this in the final post of the day. A day in which no conviction is reached will definitely result in a sudden death night. I haven't stopped in here for a while, but I thought I should share my most recent purchase. I recently bought the 8038 Battle of Endor set and the 10195 Republic Dropship and AT-OT. I have so far built the Endor set, and it really is fantastic, including some great minifigs and a really neat new AT-ST. It would also be worth noting that my total saving for the 2 sets was 67%, which I was truly astounded at, since we never get Lego that cheap here in New Zealand. Let's just say that I was more than happy to part with the money for such a great saving.

That's a really nice hotel MantaMan, I like the colour choice. Simple is quite often best for many micro-creations; I think this is done very well. I have moved this topic to Trains and Town as it fits better here.

I did no such thing Morrison; as you can see, I am in no fit state to attack anyone thank you very much, and am outraged that you would even suggest such a thing. Whatever gave you the idea that I attacked her? I am a man of the Church; we do not partake in wanton violence and fighting. -

Mafstraw Manor- Chapter 5 (Part A)

*groan* I was punched in the stomach by someone, and collapsed to the floor. Dear Lord this hurts! When I fell away from my attacker I dropped the book, I don't know where it is. Whoever hit me might have taken it, but if we can find a light switch then perhaps it is just lying on the floor where I dropped it. What I want to know is who in the name of the Unholy One punched me in the gut!? We need to recover that book, it appeared to contain information that will be vital to us in understanding what ungodly things are going on here. We can't do anything till we have a light though. Does anyone smoke, or something? I'll help you look for a light switch Morrison, I really do hate the dark. -

The remaining castle residents gathered around Richard, the last remaining castle guard. The chef pointed angrily, shouting, "This man is clearly a Dragon! Send him to the executioner I say!" Richard raised his hands in terror. "No, don't kill me, I'm innocent I tell you! It isn't my fault I'm a terrible investigator!" The citizens ere having non of it though. The servants made their way forward to escort Richard to the dungeon. As Richard was led from the room to await his final hours in the dungeons, the residents shouted their encouragement. "Off with his head", someone gleefully cried. "Make him pay for the deaths of our friends!", another heartily agreed. "Won't someone please just think of the dear children!?", a voice sobbed hysterically. With Richard gone, the residents turned to each other to talk amongst themselves before heading about their daily activities. Were there more Dragons still amongst them? How close were they to ridding themselves of the vile people for good? Nobody knew, but they would find out for certain in the coming days... ******************** Day 8 has now ended. Tonight will not be a sudden death night. Please send in your night actions, if you have one, as soon as possible. If you do not wish to use it, please let me know anyway. The night will last 2 days. The sooner you get your actions in, the sooner I can prepare Day 9. Thanks.
