New Games Regulator: Dragonator!
Dragonator replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Right, I'm here now. And Day 8 has just been posted, alright!? Thanks very much to all of you, I appreciate your support. Ever since my arrival here on EB I have enjoyed participating in the games that many of our talented members are kind enough to host for us. There are a lot of great memories to be had, and I have come to know a lot of you through interacting in this forum. Eurobricks has one of the best and most diverse gaming forums in the online Lego community, and I feel that as a community we have benefited from this, both from the talented building and inspiration that is evident from those who post here, and also from the way it brings various different people together to simply relax and enjoy the magic of playing with Lego in a more complex and mature manner. Eurobricks has always been more than just another Lego forum to post your MOCs in, and this is evident through the great sense of community that you get in parts of the board like here. I would like to thank the rest of the staff for giving me this opportunity to run this gaming forum, and look forward to the exciting things we have in store for the future of it. We have a number of new changes in store for this forum and how it is operated, so stay tuned. Be ready for chandeliers, Grim deaths and potatoes. -

Thanks Dillon, my mistake. -
An owl hooted in the distance, and the eerie scratching of branches faintly penetrated the quiet of the grand hall. Then... faint footsteps. A figure approached. Lieutenant Victor confidently strode out into the grand hall, stopping before the throne, where he paused to look around. "I should probably head for bed, now that I've dealt with the Captain", Victor muttered to himself. "The old fool had it coming to him." Suddenly, Victor heard a noise of too his right. Turning, he was shocked to see a spear flying towards him at high speed. "Hey, what the hell do you think you're-GAHH!", he cried, as the spear skewered his head, sending him toppling backwards. With a mighty crash, the Lieutenant hit the floor, dead before he'd hit the ground. Blood gushed from his mutilated head. In the darkness of the west doorway, a robbed figure looked on in satisfaction at a job well done... As the morning light strolled through the halls of the castle, the residents came to meet once more in the grand hall. Their numbers were certainly beginning to dwindle. The residents gradually trickled in to gather around the body of Victor. Nobody looked surprised however, they had come to expect someone to find a body in the hall each morning. The fear of everyone was, would they be next? The King went to stand in front of his throne and delivered the daily Grim news. "Unfortunately I don't have anything good to tell you today. As you ca see, Lieutenant Victor was brutally murdered by a dragon last night on his way back to bed after dealing with Captain Geoffrey, who you convicted yesterday. My people have been at work, and have found both of these men to be loyal Citizens. Captain Geoffrey has been executing the convicted person each day as well, so I have appointed someone else to do that now. I hope you don't make a mistake again today, we don't want to lose any more innocent lives." The people looked around in dismay at having been wrong about Captain Geoffrey, before beginning their discussions anew... A majority vote of 5 votes is required to convict. ******************** Rules of Play This game will follow the basic conventions of a Mafia Game. Each "day", you will be given 4 real days in which to vote for someone to kill. The day will end as soon as a majority decision is reached, or when the 4 days are up. If someone has been convicted, you will find out their loyalty shortly after end of the day. After this a night phase will begin, which will last 2 real days. Then the cycle will repeat. Those players with night actions must PM them to me during the night phase. If I do not receive them within the two days, they will not be counted. - There will be two main sides in the game. Your winning criteria will be included with your character PM. - Voting is to be done in the day thread, and should follow the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Please note the use of bold. This is the only format that will be accepted. To unvote someone, the same applies: Unvote: Character (Player). - You may not edit your posts. Violation of this rule may result in a moderator kill. - Please avoid posting out of character in the game thread. - Do not ever directly quote something the game moderator has sent to you via PM, whether it be your character information, night action results, or any other form of communication. Violation of this rule will result in a moderator kill. You may of course paraphrase any information you receive; if it is your own words then it is fine. - Do not discuss game tactics or "play the game" outside the game thread, including in the General Discussion thread. You may communicate privately via PM, but this is at your own risk, and should be considered part of playing the game. - Please be considerate towards the host. I will try my best to stick to the schedule, and your cooperation will help this greatly, particularly getting night actions in promptly. - Sudden Death rules, as outlined in your roles, will only apply on certain nights. You will be informed of this in the final post of the day. A day in which no conviction is reached will definitely result in a sudden death night. New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Dragonator replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Man, there sure are some great deals out there at the moment. I dashed down to K-Mart last night and grabbed th last Endor they had, as well as the second to last AT-OT (the other had a very badly damaged box). So I guess I got lucky there. I still can't believe how cheap that is, considering some of the ToyWorld stores now appear to be selling Endor at $250. Overall, a 67% saving, which is insane. Too bad their weren't any more Endor sets, I would love another one. Still, I am very happy with my haul, thanks for the tip off whoever mentioned this sale. I'm glad some other EB members got in on this too, better us than all the dealers. Thanks very much Ravi. -

Dragonator replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
That is an excellent price, I think I will pay K-Mart a visit tomorrow and see if these prices apply in Wellington too. At that price, I wouldn't hesitate to get the Endor, and maybe even the Dropship. -
After some consideration, I feel this game will be fine to go ahead, and encourage anyone interested to take part in it. It should be made clear, however, that this game is being run and organised by ADHO15, and it is therefore his responsibility to supply, award and deliver the prizes offered for this game, as well as settle any disputes or complications that arise within the game. In addition, the game must adhere to all EB posting guidelines, and should be well structured and organised so it does not become a centre for off-topic/spam posting. Good luck to ADHO15 with the game, and to all participants. If you have any queries or require any advice, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Vote Count Richard, Guard (Ricecracker) - 3 Votes (JimButcher, Escape the Fate, WhiteFang) Captain Geoffrey (Escape the Fate) - 6 Votes (Sir Dillon, Bob the Construction Man, Ricecracker, Quarryman, professor flitwick, Striker) Non-Voters - 1 Person (Darth_Legois) A majority vote of 6 votes is required to convict, therefore Escape the Fate has been convicted. Once again, the residents of the castle had made a conviction. Captain Geoffrey looked around in bewilderment at the angry castle residents, his arrogant sneering gone. "Hey, you can't turn on me, I'm in charge of the guards here", he hastily blurted. "I'm not going to execute myself!" Pointing at the crowd in general, the Captain appealed to them. "Really, I have done nothing wrong. Please reconsider your votes." "Too late for that", said Lieutenant Victor, coming out of the crowd. "You have been convicted, and thus you shall be taken to the dungeons to await the executioner like everyone else, you filthy dragon". Walking across the hall, the Lieutenant grabbed a hold of his former Captain, while Richard grabbed his other arm. "Hey, what do you think you are doing!?", shouted Geoffrey. "Unhand me, Lieutenant!" "Now don't make a fuss, sir, come away nicely", muttered Victor. "After all, it's only what you've expected of everyone else who has been convicted." "This is an outrage", spluttered Geoffrey. "After everything I have done for this castle, this is how I am to be thanked?" Geoffrey continued to rant t himself as he was escorted from the hall. Nobody was really listening, their minds had already turned to what would happen that night. With a conviction made, the residents of the castle went off to do their own thing. The sun would be setting soon, and not long after that they would know if they had continued their excellent run of convictions, or if they had made a fatal mistake... ******************** Day 7 has now ended. Tonight will not be a sudden death night. Please send in your night actions, if you have one, as soon as possible. If you do not wish to use it, please let me know anyway. The night will last 2 days. The sooner you get your actions in, the sooner I can prepare Day 8. Thanks.

Mystical Castle - Discussion
Dragonator replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
When a majority is reached the day is over people, please remember that, I have said it before. No unvoting once someone is convicted. Thanks. -
After a while, the main hall cleared, and the people went to other parts of the castle. As the sun was beginning to set, a familiar figure appeared. The condemned Lord Edward Griffin sprinted into the hall. "Whew, glad I managed to escape those guards!", he panted, as he looked around. "I need to get out of here fast before somebody catches me! My master will b waiting on my report..." Looking back one last time, Lord Edward Griffin ran off towards the west wing, slipping through the fingers of democratic justice... Night fell, and the castle descended into darkness. One figure though, a light to many, instead made his way down to the grand hall. Francis the Friar looked around. "Hmmm, I wonder where he is?", he mused to himself. "He asked me to meet him here." Looking around, the Friar noticed something at the other end of the hall. "Hello, what have we here?", he muttered, while walking towards the strange black substance on the ground. "Hmmm, it is quite greasy, must be oil", he said to himself, while looking at the slick liquid covering the floor. Just then, a light appeared off to the right. Looking up, the Friar looked towards the source, and raised his hand in greeting. "Oh, hello there", he said to the approaching figure. "Somebody appears to have spilled one of the large iron torches over there, the floor is covered in this filthy oil!" "How convenient", grinned the robbed figure. "Your faith in the Lord can't save you now, my dear greasy friar", the robbed figure chuckled. "Time you learned what it's like to burn in Hell." With that, the robbed figure dropped his burning torch into the pool of oil, which immediately began to ignite. The Friar threw up his hands in alarm. "What are you doing!?", Francis cried. "You can't kill me, I'm a man of the Church!" "That's nice", sneered the robbed figure, turning away. "Sleep well, Friar." The flames rose up, and the poor Friar quickly caught alight, his cloths and skin beginning to char. "AAAAAAARGHHHHHH!!!!", he screamed, falling to his knees in despair, raising his hands pleadingly to the heavens as he noticed an intense burning in his loins. "Save me Jamie Lord!!" As the conflagration continued to roar, Francis the Friar, the humble servant of His Lord on High, was reduced to a figure of blackened, charred bones. The fire ragged wildly on into the night, extending the Friar's torment until long after his spirit had left this world. In the morning, the residents of the castle began to gather in the grand hall, around the remains of the late Francis, who was resting in the remains of the pool of oil. A few small areas were still smouldering, and some dried blood had been baked onto the floor. "What a Grim way to go", the King sighed sadly. "Did you find Lord Griffin, Captain?" "Unfortunately no my King", replied Captain Geoffrey. "He appears to have escaped us, but if he is still in the castle, then we will find him eventually." As they talked, the other residents of the castle began trickling in. Very soon, everyone had arrived to hear what the King had to say. "People of the castle, once again we have mixed news. My people have searched the rooms of Lord Edward Griffin very thoroughly, and after much effort have found him to be a vile, traitorous Dragon. My congratulations on your efforts yesterday, it is only sad he mas managed to escape the grasps of our guards before the executioner could deal with him. If he is still around, then we will find him, but I think it would be safe to say that he has managed to vacate the castle. "This jubilant news is shadowed however by or dearly beloved Friar, Francis, who last night was the latest victim of the evil plots of the Dragons. My people have confirmed him as an innocent Citizen of the castle, a man dedicated to his faith and sharing that faith with others. He will be sorely missed by all. Avenge his death, and all the other innocent deaths, by continuing your excellent work in eliminating the Dragons. I'm am confident that we are close to eradicating them for good, and will finally be able to return to our peaceful lives." Standing around the scene of last nights' murder, the people once again began their discussions for another day... Mafstraw Manor- Chapter 5 (Part A)
Dragonator replied to Zepher's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh my, look at all these boxes! This basement is quite big for the age of this house, considering it would have to be dug into the mountain side and any large boulders moved to clear the space. I wonder what is stored in all these boxes? I do wonder who was being kept down here though, and how they escaped, and for that matter where they are now and what they are doing. This weekend is getting scarier by the second. I pray that the Lord will guide us and save us from any vengeful knife-wielding spirits. The presence of this journal is most interesting, we should definitely take a look. Perhaps it will explain what is going on here? I will read those chapters for you if you like, Amelia. *Father Clarence picks up the journal and opens it up* -

Oh dear, how embarrassing. All fixed now, my apologies that a few sentences were a little unclear, I have had a very tiresome week. You know how much I hate mistakes, you just couldn't help pointing it out, could you? -
I would be happy to sign this, I mean, why not? Western was a really great theme, so I have no qualms about a return as long as it is done well.

MOC: 10193 10199 Mashup - Medieval Christmas Village
Dragonator replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Town
That's really neat Svelte, I like the recoloured house, it looks good in dark red. Now, is that all old dark red or new dark red? Nice inclusion of some favourite BF items too, including the adorable mushrooms! The extra details like the pond, presents and drinking fountain complete this and make it visually interesting to look at. Good job, and I look forward to that review. Vote Count Lord Edward Griffin (Stash2Sixx) - 7 Votes (Svelte, Bob the Construction Man, Striker, Darth_Legois, professor flitwick, Escape the Fate, JimButcher) Francis, Friar (Svelte) - 1 Vote (Ricecracker) Non-Voters - 4 People (WhiteFang, Stash2Sixx, Quarryman, Sir Dillon) A majority vote of 7 votes is required to convict, therefore Stash2Sixx has been convicted. After some quick discussion, another fast conviction had been made in the castle. Lord Edward Griffin had been condemned by vote, and was soon to be executed. His lordship looked around haughtily at the assembled people. "You can't convict me", he sneered. "I'm not only innocent of your charges, which you have no evidence to back up, but I am a Lord, and should be above the law. You are all mostly just peasants and common guards. Anyway, I can prove I'm innocent, you will see." Unfortunately for his lordship, the common people did not agree. "Kill him now, before he can do any more harm!", someone shouted angrily. "He is obviously evil, I mean, he is an aristocrat", another agreed. "Won't someone please just think of the damn children!", somebody else sobbed passionately. Captain Geoffrey swaggered forward and grabbed Lord Edward by the arm. "The people have decided; you are to be executed tonight, your lordship", he said jovially. "I will take you to the dungeons myself, just to make sure nothing untoward happens on the way. Lieutenant, come take Lord Griffins' other arm." As Edward was taken hold of, his uncaring facade began to crack. "My King and Queen, would you truly allow these common folk to kill in cold blood one of your loyal and long serving lords?", he pleaded, looking up at the throne. "It is an outrage against the Kingdom!". The King shook his head sadly. "What can I do?", he sighed. "I have given the power to the people. Your execution will go ahead. For the sake of the people, I do hope you are a Dragon." With that, Lord Edward Griffin, a man of much power and reputation throughout the land, was led away to be killed in a dismal dungeon at the whim of the people. The crowd looked on in satisfaction as the guards led his lordship out. As the people of the castle went about their daily business once again, Lord Griffin glanced back at the grand hall for the last time. Had the residents made a mistake? Or had they finally got the right man? They would find out soon enough... ******************** Day 6 has now ended. Tonight will not be a sudden death night. Day 6 is up, thank you all for your patience. I have been informed that WhiteFang will be away from the 7th of October till the 12th of October, so he will very likely be unable to post. Please take this into consideration when making your decisions. -
A click was heard, and an outside door swung open, letting a small ray of moonlight into the dark corridors of the castle. Pocketing her key, Lady Rohesia Papelion stepped out into the crisp night air. Drawing a deep breath, Rohesia sighed to herself. "How lovely the night air is", she exclaimed, looking around at the roses lining the path. "It is nice to get out of that stuffy castle for a while. I'm glad I found this key conveniently placed by the door there." Just then, something unusual happened; a fish fell from the sky and landed on the path in front of Rohesia. Confused, the Lady walked over and picked it up. "I wonder where this came from", she mused. Just then, two potatoes bounced off her head. "Ouch!", she exclaimed. "What the hell was that!" Throwing up her hands, Rohesia began to run from the falling food that seemed to be attacking her. But she wasn't quite quick enough. A large turkey slammed into her, knocking her to the ground and severely fracturing her skull. Potatoes continued to rain down. Up above the twitching body, a robed figure continued to poor food down onto the poor Lady. "I may be new to this, but at least I make it more exciting than stabbing people every time", the figure muttered to itself. Eventually, the body of the late Rohesia stopped twitching, and the night was once again still, the pile of food a strange disturbance in the rigid lines of the gardens. In the morning, the people of the castle gathered once more in the grand hall to hear from their king the outcome of the previous nights' execution. Speaking from his throne, the King delivered his news. "Ladies and Gentlemen", he began, "thank you for coming down here once again. I am glad to inform you that your efforts yesterday payed off; after a through search of Simon's rooms, my people have concluded that he was indeed a Dragon. They also found a sword in his rooms, the one used by the assassin to kill so many innocent people over this past week. Clearly, Simon was not the nice, humble librarian we have always believed him to be. "I am saddened to have to inform you though that the Dragons are still active in our castle. Last night, Lady Rohesia Papelion was murdered while out for a stroll in the castle grounds. My people have informed me that she was a loyal Citizen of the castle." Mixed murmurs of happiness at being right about Simon and sadness and anger at the passing of Rohesia spread through the crowd. The people had another tough day ahead of them, but hopefully, they would keep up their good work, and find themselves another Dragon... Ah, excellent, the files. If you would kindly take your hands off my bible and pay attention here, then perhaps we can find out something worth knowing? Thanks. I say we should read all the files, starting at the top and working down the entire list. That way, we can sift out who here are good citizens and who have been convicted criminals, giving us something to go off in our future talks. I suggest after we have made a clear inspection of all the files, we should finish looking through any other bedrooms that we haven't looked at yet, since we have already started, and then I want to take a look in some of the unopened crates around the house, particularly in the Living Room. I suspect that a crate was referenced in the "title" of our afternoon discussions for a reason, and I want to find out why. That blood covered knife is worrying, I presume it must be the murder weapon used to kill poor Jimmy. Since we were all handed out knives earlier, does everyone still have theirs? I would like to ask you all to show your knives now, for if somebody is missing theirs then we might just have a suspect. I have mine right here in my room, as pointed out earlier. What about the rest of you?
-
I agree with all that, I have a fairly large head, but I presume it will come in a number of sizes, so I should find one that fits. I'm sure it would be very comfy indeed, and as I said before, breezy can be nice. We have a lot of caves in New Zealand, so I'm sure I could use it for a bit of spelunking too. Although, a lot of the caves here are wet caves, so I would need to know if it is water resistant or not first, we wouldn't want any accidents.
-
Thank you very much sir, I appreciate that. May the Lord smile upon you during your time on this lowly Earth, and give you safe passage to the land of Eternal Life, when your time to join Him on High comes. Now, as to looking at those criminal records, I think we should definitely look at them, and I don't know why we haven't already. It would be better for us all if we knew whether somebody here has been a convicted criminal in the past or not. I suspect somebody here must be, for only a criminal who has shunned the Light of our Lord would even consider breaking one of His eternally binding commandments; thou shalt not commit adultery. Wait, thou shalt not commit murder. I think that is more relevant, although adultery is wrong too. Anyway, as a man of the Church, I know I myself have no criminal records, for only those of immoral standing and bad principle would dare break the law of the State and, for that matter, the Law of our Lord on High. I live only to serve the Lord, and with his guidance, the misguided people of this Earth. I think reading these criminal records would will give us some valuable insight into the people we are dealing with here, and might point to a likely suspect for our killer. I also think it would be worth searching some more of the house. Can we look around the living room for example, and open any crates that are around? We still haven't figured out why we have been invited to an empty house with a missing host...

After much discussion, another conviction had been reached inside the castle of Matidoer. Simon, the long serving castle librarian, was to be executed that night on charges of being a conspiring Dragon, plotting to overthrow the ruling monarch. Throwing up his hands in despair, Simon looked around at the mob of people that had sentenced him to death. "People, I am innocent, please, you must believe me", Simon pleaded. "I have served this castle faithfully for many years, you can't just put that aside now!" The guards came out and grabbed Simon by the arms, ready to march him away. "It is alright, I will go to my fate without making a fuss", Simon sighed. "No point in making a scene, I guess." Resigned to his fate, Simon was lead from the room. The remaining residents of the castl stayed a while before retiring to their rooms for the night... ******************** Day 5 has now ended. Tonight will not be a sudden death night. Please send in your night actions, if you have one, as soon as possible. If you do not wish to use it, please let me know anyway. The night will possibly last 3 days. The sooner you get your actions in, the sooner I can prepare Day 6. Thanks.

This is an outrage! How dare you manhandle a man of the Lord's Holy Church on Earth, and tie me up in a corner!? You should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you! Mr. Baker, I believe you have the right of this situation, these people have been duped by the real threat into irrational decisions that have already harmed the cooperation of our group. We will get nowhere with this sort of discord, and more people will very likely die. Now, somebody please untie me this instant, and perhaps we can get on with whatever we are meant to be doing. Tying people up just because you disagree with what they have to say is not the way civilized people act, and I will most certainly remember my treatment from you when I next speak with the Lord on high, and the city official for that matter. Mr Baker, if you would be so kind? You seem like the only person here with half a brain today, these people obviously don't attend church enough.

You would attack a man of the Church, a man of God, so that you could have a weapon to try to silence me? How dare you sir! I will not hand over the gun, it is to be kept out of the irrational hands of people like you who would only use it to hurt others. Shame on you sir, shame on you, and may the Lord look kindly on your misguided soul. Oh dear, this is very strange. Just as you are certain you didn't have a ruby, I was certain you did. Perhaps my eye-sight isn't as good as I thought? Oh my Lord! What have you done to poor Thomas!? That is called assault people, and is not only illegal and something you can go to jail for, but also frowned upon by the Lord. We are going to get nowhere if we start knocking out the first person who tries to come forward with any sort of evidence, even if it is proven to be inconsequential. What we should instead be doing is assessing everything everyone says, and hopefully we will be able to come to some rational conclusion about what is going on here. Amelia, I am not going to give the gun to any of you, as I do not want anything more bad happening and more people dying, however I think your plan is a good idea, and if you will give me a moment I shall fetch the bullets, and we can deal with them as we wish. So yes, I too Vote: Agree with Amelia's Plan. Err, Morrison, why are you voting for Baker? We are voting on Amelia's plan, not on people. Good Lord protect us, we are not a lynch mob who is out to kill people, that would be immoral, wrong and completely against the teachings of our dear Lord on High. I think I need a moment to pray to the Lord for guidance, this situation is increasingly spiraling out of control. Father Clarence adopts a praying position and begins muttering.
