I look forward to playing this game. It looks very fun and has playable Space Police, Blacktron and M-Tron characters!

Nice build! I like the idea with the water and the boat.

As a frequent Bricklink customer I don't see that as a problem. Almost every time I build large MOCs I am missing some part that I need. Even without any restrictions I buy five or ten or twenty of small inexpensive pieces when I order even if I only need one for the MOC that I am currently building because I know I might need them in the future. Yesterday I was very happy that I had stocked up on blue forestmen hats because I needed some for a MOC.

What are your personal criteria/interests when building/buying/collecting Lego? Do you like everything or are there some limits for some reason? Limiting factors for me are interests (I mainly like themes and building styles from the 80s and 90s and modernized versions of them, money (I can't buy everything so I focus on the stuff I like the most) and space (If I had unlimited or more space I would widen the criteria for buying and include more sets and themes). Because of these criteria I focus on: 1. The original themes Town(including Trains 9v and other related subthemes), Space and Castle as well as Pirates and Aquazone because these themes are the ones I like the most. 2. Sets and themes from the time period 1978-1999 and modernized or new versions of them like the Santa Fe Super Chief or the new Renegade (in my opinion the golden age of Lego is from the mid 80s to the mid 90s) 3. When it comes the new sets I only buy ones that are close enough to the originals, the colors and minifigs are important because I like to display both old and sets together. Therefore I bought the new Galaxy Explorer but not the new Eldorado Fortress. Remakes must fit seamlessly with the originals. 4. Sets that I like very very much for some reason like the upscaled minifigs or sets that I buy for specific pieces (like the Dreamzzz set with the Futuron style torso). 5. When I buy pieces for MOCs I avoid pieces that doesn't fit the 80s and 90s aesthetic. I only use colors that were available before the year 2000, (for aesthetic, economical and storage space reasons). I try to keep a large inventory of pieces for MOCs, set restauration and landscape builds and I can barely fit all the pre 2000 colors in large enough quantities). When I build MOCs I mostly focus on my favorite themes but sometimes I just want to build something crazy like a jet engine powered chicken.

Always nice to see Aquazone stuff! Those rocks have the perfect colors for Aquazone landscapes.

The minifigs look great! The set is 90% of what I wanted. I'm only missing shooting cannons. I can't understand why they didn't add those. They are a must have for any Lego pirate ship. I hope this isn't the end for the cannon piece. What will happen to it when the Creator pirate ship is discontinued?

LEGO is considering abandoning physical instructions
SpacePolice89 replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know about three companies that at least used to print Lego instructions. Laursen in Tønder, Denmark, Frank Druck in Preetz/Holst, Germany and Muhlmeister and Johler, Neumunster, Germany. I have NA exclusive sets from the 80s and 90s with Laursen and Frank Druck instructions. I have always believed that all instructions for North America were made in Europe before the Mexico Factory opened. My 1729 Barnacle Bay (NA exclusive set) was put in a box in the US but with European made instructions. -

I compared some instructions. Futuron, Islanders, Black Falcons (late 80s to mid 90s) vs Star Wars, Dreamzzz, Lego House (2010s and 2020s). The older ones are glossier and feels harder. I don't know if the paper is thicker but it feels more sturdy. -
This is very beautiful. This is the type of build that is a work of art. I like to look at all the small details. Fantastic job!

LEGO is considering abandoning physical instructions
SpacePolice89 replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I remember when I was a kid it felt so fun building sets with the old instructions. It felt more like a challenge and it was a very rewarding process. I also miss the quality of the old instructions, the colors were more visible and the the quality of the paper was much better. The current instructions are too dark and made with low quality paper. -
What an impressive collection! It is nice to see all the sets from different eras together. Basements are great for displaying Lego, no daylight means no yellowing.

They used to be like that, the instructions for 6990 is a good example. https://www.toysperiod.com/lego-set-reference/space/futuron/lego-6990-monorail-transport-system/ -
[SFF] CAT A - Futuron 2 Reconnaissance Spaceship
SpacePolice89 replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks! I got inspiration to build this spaceship after watching Behind Enemy Lines (the scene with the twin seat reconnaissance F/A-18F Super Hornet). I tried many different seating arrangements for the pilots before I settled for this one. I wanted the computer screen to be in front of the rear pilot while still attached to the canopy. -
Let me present my Futuron 2 Reconnaissance Spaceship for the Summer Faction Festival contest. The faction is a special unit of Futuron that is specialized in exploring remote planets with extreme environments. That is the reason for their different uniforms and colors. The colors of their vehicles are similar to Futuron but instead of trans dark blue canopies theirs are trans green. This is a reconnaissance spaceship that is the the first to visit unexplored planets. It is fast and equipped with various sensors.

Thanks! Yes, I couldn't find hands in the correct colors but I got the idea to use white hands from the prototype green Futuron minifig. I guess they didn't have green hands when they created the prototype and also had to use white hands. The shields are from 6951. They were also available in a couple of other Classic Space sets.

Thank you! I guess the he got too close to some lava or magma and survived with only some damage to his spacesuit. I decided to use trans green instead of trans dark blue because Classic Space also had different colored windscreens. At first all were trans yellow and then switched to trans green and trans dark blue. Maybe they would've done something similar with Futuron if it the subtheme had lasted longer? They even planned a Futuron spaceship with a trans red canopy for the Seatron monorail set.
