  1. Well, I can´t tell much about how true to the lore it is, as I don´t know anything about what is told about this in the books. So far most film/series versions based on books took some freedom though so that is nothing surprising. Personally, as I can´t tell anyways it doesn´t bother me that much. Eitherway I would bet it is closer to the original than Amazons Rings of Power.
  2. Well as mentioned above and earlier in this thread it is meant to represent the clothes Oswald is wearing under his lab coat and since they are blue since the beginning, the colour was pretty much preset ;). In the end it was likely just meant to be a little nod towards classic space as I don´t think that anyone would have thought they would make a version without the lab coat at any time, since usually you get the dreamworld versions in the sets - I mean we don´t even have him in the Lab coat as minifigure yet. Well, and given there are quite some classic space fans working at Lego, I would bet that we will get the helmet and airtanks sneaked in some sets as they did with the purple one.
  3. Well sure it would be good for us who only want to have the GWP - but it certainly wouldn´t be good for Lego. People buying for RRP is making them good money per Set sold and if they would lower the cost of the set with sales by 20% for instance they would lower their profit by a way higher amount as costs for production, logistics and shipping would stay the same still. And on the other side you usually still get better discounts elsewhere so there wouldn´t be any point really to oder from Lego themselves. Now on the same time those GWPs sold won´t bring them enough money to compensate that. Especially not when they also would have to be discounted in their shop - or would be bought elsewhere with higher discounts - and eitherway Lego makes way less money when someone else sells their products, than when they sell them.
  4. No, they are exclusive to BAM
  5. If there would be Sets, we would have heard about it by now I am afraid, so I second your opinion here. Of course they could always do it later, but Lego would want to have it out when people watch it in the cinemas.
  6. Once again, there is not one single word about why it should be done, or what the benefits would be - just that it should move public but everything should be ensured to stay the same aside from that...
  7. Probably a Mod saw both of your threats and thought you opened the same twice - well aside from the pictures linked, they were exactly the same and actually one thread for both would have been enough ;). I basically used the same way Forged in Lego mentioned above, which is not that easy honestly, unless you know how the parts are named on Bricklink and which ones are rare. Well lets say it took me some trying around to find it lol.
  8. No idea if your other post got deleted, or you posted the wrong pics, but just in case you are still searching for it: 75229 Death Star Escape
  9. Looks quite good so far. For now there are good chances I would go to the cinema for it. Not completely sold on the synchronisation yet though - especially the one of the german trailer but will see how it turns out in the finshed film or later trailers.
  10. I don´t see different colours there.
  11. It very likely was just put together by some medial artists using typical elements from both Nike and Lego, so I doubt we will see those things in a colaboration between those two.
  12. I would see them doing one or two Sets each year, from the classic themes. Well given we only got one Set after Lion Knights Castle and the Galaxy Explorer for the 90 years celebration, might be we won´t see two, but I wouldn´t rule it out completely. Well and additional to that some nice GWPs.
  13. There are probably fans of almost all past Lego themes working there, so that isn´t really a surpirse. I mean just look at all the references we got in sets over the years. Well anyways, although this is the 2024 Space Sets topic, since we got a castle set this year, there is a good chance we will see a space set again next year, so what would you all love to see? I would guess an other faction aside from the classic spacemen would be more likely, thought I wouldn´t say it is exactly unlikely to do a classic space Set again. That beeing said I would love to se a remake of the 6971 Inter-Galactic Command Base. That one would benefit greatly from a modernized version, and also has good potential to add playability with the base, the rocked the small ground vehicle and the little spaceship. Not gonna lie, the minifigs were also part of the reason why I would love to get that one, since it would bring back the blue, black and yellow classic space minifigures.
  14. It isn´t uncommon that Sets can be preordered with 20% or something like that. Also, it isn´t like it is Lego where it is like that but other brands to - in the end they want you to buy it and in their shop, and as almost everyone seems to sell Lego here nowadays, there is a lot competition - and if you offer Sets for 20% off right at start you might make more money than you would trying them for rrp.
  15. They usually don´t have that much old stuff yes, though they are also way more frequented than smaller shops so they are selling their stuff faster. But for instance the Harry Potter Grimmauld Place was still in stock in some shops in March, same as some still had the Galaxy Explorer back then.
  16. But what is really different from City Space to other space sets? The only thing I could name is that it is less colourfull - and actually a bigger spaceship would also have been great to have. Space had so many different designs, with different colours and different shapes, that I couldn´t put my finger on something and say this is space - no this is not. I could do so for single factions, but when it comes to classic space even that is hard to do, since there isn´t really any system there apart from the minfigs. If I compare some of the classic space ships with city ones we got now, city space isn´t that far away from that. Sure they look much more modern, but last years Spaceships got a similar V-Shape as many of the older Spaceships had and there are also quite some that weren´t colourful at all back then. So yeah, for me the biggest difference between both is that city space got no bigger spacship. And probably had the lowest spaceship-to sets ratio of any Space-theme ;). As for the Creator Pirates and Castle Sets, for me they look more different from other castle Sets than the City Space Sets from Space. I mean Creator has it´s own, more blocky building style. although it got already much less blocky lately. However it still looks quite different from the normal building style and the biggest difference IMO is that they used built sails which kinda changes the entire look of the set. The Medieval Blacksmith on the other side is way to big to be placed near any of the other castle sets, even the Lion Knights Castle, which is already bigger than the others ones. Well in the end it was meant to be a stand alone set - and of course it always can be modified to work better with the castles.
  17. In the end, they can make the same scenes they make as dioramas as play sets, so it would actually just a difference how they do it, not what they do. Well, but is there that much of a difference if people just buy one big set, or many (different) smaller ones? In the end it would end up selling more Sets because simply more people can afford to buy them. Sure, there are other things to consider here aswell, such as exclusivity, packaging etc, but overall I would say both ways have their pros and cons that I couldn´t choose which way is better - well obviously it would be to do both.
  18. I do have to disagree here. Sure both of them resemble a past time, but aren´t necessarily located there - especially castle and less than anything of that fantasy era - something like that would actually be my wish if they would make new Castle Sets, with so many possibilies. Well of course also very unlikely, because they would need more moulds for it than for just normal medieval based castle. Are they? Give your daughter City Space Sets and some old Sets, and she will just be able to play with both of them together as she does with Pirates. Kids will be the last to care about the label. Sure Space, as it isn´t really based on anything existing, is more free in it´s overall design, especially compared to pirates. But as you said Space had many different designs and that actually is even more a reason why City space works well with other space series. Because every faction doesn´t look the same anyways. I mean the classic space faction doesn´t even have a consistent design at all. Neither in shape, nor colour.
  19. Totally agree here. Actually the same issue I have with the GWP, there are so many pieces going into that function, I would rather have prefered a normal fireplace, or a system with a rotating door like they used in the whomping willow Set for Lupin. Would take less space up. Also don´t like the design of the fire place in the burrow, aside from it´s size.
  20. Not every Set needs to show a location, or if a complete one. For instance, Gandalf Arrives was a neat little Set, that doesn´t need a location at all. They could make a Balrog Set, with just Gandalf, the Balrog and the Bridge - sure a Big Set of Moria would be great aswell, with the Bridge and Balrog, the tomb with the cave troll and orcs and the gate with the watcher in the water
  21. Well I was only counting the retro Sets they make with the Icons line though. All other Sets came before they started with that ones. And if we go away from that, then I would have to count all the City Space Sets aswell. I mean, aside from the Creator Castle using two Black Falcon Knights, there is nothing really that makes it any more retro castle, than the City Sets are to retro space. Same for Pirates. It just doesn´t make sense to say Castle and Pirates get so many Sets and counting all of them, while you are not ready to do the same with Space. I am actually pretty sure that space and Pirates fans would be more than happy if they would get the same treatment that Space got this year ;).
  22. If we are counting only buyable Sets, then only Castle got one Set more then Space and Pirates, which both got one only - and if we are taking GWPs in aswell, then Space got more Sets too. Space is the only Series, that got a own CMF and yes, this year was lacking a retro Set (a buyable one, the GWP was pretty good IMO), though they might have decided against it because there are plenty of new Space Sets out there this year and a retro space set might be selling worse if other sets are avaiable. That beeing said, I would think that we have good chances to see a new retro Space Set next year.
  23. I would bet, that if they bring a troll back for LotR, they will make a new mould rather than reusing the Harry Potter one, they just look to different. They would very likely reuse the Arms and Hands of it, but the body just doesn´t work.
  24. The Weasly clock is listed in the Australian Online Shop: Collectible Weasley Clock 5009008 | Harry Potter™ | Buy online at the Official LEGO® Shop AU looks quite a bit different from what I expected, but looks good however.
