  1. I believe that is the case. I’m curious how creative critic voting will look in comparison to the traditional voting. @Mister Phes please let me vote for more than one creative critic, there are so many helpful people (YellowFrog you’re one of them)
  2. I think the second round of posting prizes is complete. And Sydney actually won the first to 25 portion of this contest! Thanks again to @Mister Phes and everyone that has commented. And thank you for your kind words @Christophh
  3. I like how you secured the sails and the shape of you ship is very nicely done. I’m not sure how I feel about seeing Steve without facial hair, but I can definitely tell it’s him. The cannons are cool looking and the steering mechanism is good too, my only critique is I kinda wish the helm was a bit bigger and had an old style wheel for steering, but it’s not necessary. Great build Matey
  4. That’s a good idea. Maybe the “Islanders” are really ancestors of the Lion Knights… the mask and colour scheme is somewhat similar after all!
  5. This as Classic as Classic gets! I love the overflowing chest of coins too (did you place a filler or do you really have all those coins?) I like how Steve really cleans up as an Imperial. The only thing I would suggest is to maybe add a prisoner in the cell to give us some variety on the minifigs. That’s my only critique. You already have a monkey, so that was going to be my next suggestion, lol.
  6. It’s a deal, but don’t get your hopes up. The competition is fierce over at the BDP
  7. I appreciate the classic pirates style. It is simple and clean, and the fact that you made the floors accessible leans into the play features that all older set had! A critique I can give you would be to add a little more to the base plate, maybe some splashing water? I’m happy you included a parrot, that was going to be my other suggestion. Well done Matey!
  8. Very cool MOC. I think you depicted Steve nicely and the journal entry story telling is engaging and interesting. Good job building with physical bricks and photographing your build! One critique I have for you is white and red striped sail should be for pirates, not imperials. But seriously this is a nice build, it was hard for me to comment on anything. May I ask approximately how many parts were used?
  9. Cool, I’ll check that out. Do you happen to go by “Math Wizard” on LEGO Ideas or something else?
  10. A new chapter! I’ll need to check it out. And don’t worry about a duel, yours is better simply because you brick-built the canoe. I took a short cut and used the Islanders red canoe, lol
  11. Just so long as you don’t apply the sticker over multiple parts! I still have an old Shell Gas Station set where they used to put the logo on top of a 3 brick stack.
  12. Thank you, I wanted to make sure I captured most of the suggestions I received. Good luck to you as well and I appreciate all the critiques you’ve given on this and the other entries! Wow… this are some amazing ideas. You may have just inspired my next entry into the BrickLink Designer Program, lol
  13. Perhaps one of Steve’s distant descendants is Johnny Thunder? That would be a cool little call back if LEGO put some pirate artifacts in the new Jungle Explorer sets. New images added to the main post!
  14. That sail looks perfect as a little sticker. I was going to suggest using the Islanders shield but I don’t think it would have looked as good.
  15. Unfortunately they are not pirate themed, otherwise I would share them on this forum. I currently have ones for the video games Chrono Trigger and Kingdom Hearts. I also participate in the BrickLink Designer Programs, just say hi if you ever see my name!
  16. Hahaha, I’d love that. Maybe the Hand Emporium should be a location in the Brethren of the Brick Seas so Capt Tongs can get his hands back.
  17. Shhh don’t tell anyone, lol But I guess I could have used a standard tile and applied a decal. My daughter did most of the searching for parts so that one looked the most appropriate for what was already available on BrickLink Studio. Yes, the Skulls Eye Schooner was especially challenging since it was hard to find the right scale for certain elements. To do this Trading Post, I found a couple plates to use as a template and let my daughter try to fit the buildings onto it. Stickers are an AFOL’s worst enemy after all, lol. Whenever I submit something to LEGO Ideas I tend to use decals with the hope that if it ever was turned into an official set, they would make printed elements and not use stickers.
  18. Yes that sail looks good! And I hope you don’t mind, I kinda copied your canoe design for an update I’m doing to my large entry. It’s not Islanders so it will look different, but I did take inspiration from the outriggers.
  19. Yikes, this was an interesting MOC to stumble upon. I’ve got to ‘hand’ it to you, you made me smile. I really like the adorable slimes too. Nice sideways building technique on the slimes and floor. My critique for you would be to leave the slimes out, they make it more fantastical, but I guess it’s important not to take it too seriously seeing that Steve has become a serial killer
  20. Thank you for the notice! I’ll go check it out now.
  21. I don’t envy the work you are doing @Mister Phes and I appreciate all the Creative Critics out there. They all deserve a prize in my opinion, but we also don’t want to bankrupt Classic-Pirates otherwise we wouldn’t get to have these fun and engaging contests! I’m looking forward to the voting stage, I already have so many favourites!
  22. Wonderful, I’m glad you liked it and thanks for the continued feedback! I played around with the Microfigs last night so I will add a couple photos above!
  23. Masterfully done my friend! And you used the shoulder armour as the canoe and boat, I love it! Are those bucket handles for the bridge I see? I’ve been smiling the whole time looking at this. I’ll show Sydney when I get home from work. Once again, great job!
  24. Very true. I checked LEGO Ideas to see if One Piece was eligible for entries, but unfortunately it is not. Maybe they consider it too violent or mature for their platform. But I totally buy the Thousand Sunny in LEGO form!
  25. Congrats YellowFrog! I really appreciated all your helpful comments! Congrats MathWizard! A prize well deserved!
