  1. Finally got my copy today thanks to some Honey cashback and the Galileo GWP. I won't be able to do anything with it until the holidays, but I think this will be my best combination of some kind of discount and GWP. Super excited to get to it eventually!
  2. The Star Wars one from this year comes with five minifigs, Harry Potter has six, and Marvel has seven. So, I don't think that 5 minifigs/minidolls is out of the question at all. I do agree that the leak came really early, but it's coming from a source that has been reliable in the past.
  3. Looks like things going well for the Bricklink team! I'm fine to let them take the time they need to get things figured out to make sure everything is safe... But I'm also very ready to getting back to shopping!
  4. Leaks have indicated that there will be a "Disney Princess" advent calendar - set number 43253, and supposedly have Elsa, Moana, Ariel, Mirabel, and Tiana. I hope it's Minifigures, but all of the leaked stuff titles Disney Princess is minidolls, correct? Also, buildable Simba is seemingly confirmed: not set number. That's another one from the leaks confirmed if so!
  5. I stand corrected - good catch!
  6. I'm surprised Lego didn't opt for a Rex mech to get a few more dollars out of us AFOLs - it's not like many of us would buy either one for the parts. Either way, I'm super excited that it's coming, even seemingly following in the first Rex's footsteps by being in a sub-$20 set. Yippie!
  7. Another set name has leaked for Animal Crossing: 30662 Maple's Pumpkin Garden. Looks like it will be a polybag, so hopefully it will be inexpensive and easy to find!
  8. Well, that looks... Not good at all. Looks like I'll place an order now and get Galileo!
  9. Hmm... I can't put my finger on if I like Rogue or not. I'm going to wait until we get more pictures until I make a final call, but something does feel off. I hope she's not too expensive to get on Bricklink...
  10. I really hope we get pictures of this thing soon... I want to know if I should wait to get the Viking Village with this, or get it now and get Galileo. I imagine the threshold will be $200+, but if it's good, I might get a few other things with it...
  11. Thanks for the heads-up! I decided to just get my order in now and not risk anything else going out of stock. Got a few of that Viking torso, several purple space parts, and a few other things I've been keeping my eye on for awhile. I got basically everything I wanted, besides a few imperial soldier torsos and an orca that were OOS, and a handful of Bestseller items that weren't worth getting with the service fee.
  12. Don't worry, we're feasting on goat cheese! At least, that's what I hope...
  13. Hmm... I'll give myself half a point for "gamer girl" (wrong accessory), and a quarter point for "medieval goat herder" (wrong description, incorrect accessories). .75 points for my first try!
  14. Now that I've had some time to sit with it, here are my thoughts: Noir Detective: The very first time the "fish" piece has been in red! I might need to look for more so I can save some red snapper/salmon for my Animal Crossing figures. The minifig looks well put together, but it also doesn't really go with anything that I have. Gaming Girl: The "regular" CMFs seem to frequently have a minifigure in this style (which is why I guessed something like this in the Guessing Thread). Good parts, but otherwise indifferent. Medieval Bat-Man: Basil's gotten quite the glow-up! Too bad the image makes it hard to see what his armor looks like. Solid minifig that matches with my tastes. Para-Athlete: Like the gamer girl, this was another archetype that was hit recently with S22's Wheelchair Racer. Glad to see representation, just don't need the minifig. Goat Herder: Best CMF by a mile, not just for the fig himself, but also for the goat! I'll pretend that he's a younger version of this guy from the originals MMV. I imagine that he's double-faced, and I'm interested to see what his second face looks like. My only note is that I wish the goat cheese was a printed "cheese slope" piece, but that's a super minor quibble for who will easily be the most popular minifig from this series. Mushroom Girl: Hard for me to say. I think the Acorn Kid from S22 looks better overall, but this one has it's own charms. The face looks like City ones that we've gotten before, so I hope her second face looks better. Overall, decent, but nnot my favorite. Kettlebell Athlete: This is one CMF archtype that I've never liked. Not a fan. Triceratops Suit Person: I actually had this on my original list for the Guessing Game thread, but took it off last-minute. Good companion for T-Rex Suit Guy, but I only need one. Harpy: I'm torn. Like a lot of other people, Something about this feels a hair off, and I can't put my finger on what it is. Possibly it's the hair? The gold claws? Maybe it will "click" more in person? If the prices are low, I might get a handful so I can have a little band to hang out with Medusa. I think I might give them spears and shields though... Train Suit Boy: Makes sense, as we've gotten a racecar, boat, and airplane at this point. I like the paperboy cap in blue, but it's also not something I would personally be actively seeking out. Barbarian/Cosplayer: It's hard to tell based on the shine, but I think he looks more "historic"? Seems like he should be okay, though. Dog Groomer: Afgan dogs have always looked... odd to me. I'm sure there is an audience for this particular breed, but there are a lot of other animals that need to be made besides another dog breed, Lego! Not a fan. Overall, I think this series has some very high highs (Goat Herder, Basil), and some very low lows (kettlebell girl, dog groomer). I'm going to end up getting a complete set for myself since I split boxes, and I'm pretty excited for over half, so I say this should be a pretty good series. I do feel bad for any stores that stock boxes and will have people ripping open boxes for TikTok challenges to find goats though...
  15. The goat lives! Too bad about the sets being in boxes, it's going to be a lot more difficult and expensive to get multiple of that one... Still, that should mean that we get goats in the Market. Only a few months before we know for sure!
  16. Maybe a mech? They've put popular characters in them before.
  17. That phrasing makes me wonder if we are getting multiple Lilo and Stitch sets, or at least multiple sets with Stitch in them. Maybe one buildable figure, and one minifigure set? I also hope the Encanto tease is for minifigures. I'm not a minidolls person, but might try to get minifigs from that movie if it comes out.
  18. Happy to help! Enjoy them!
  19. I've played Population: Growing on the Gamecube, City Folk on the Wii, dabbled with New Leaf on the 3DS, and New Horizons on the Switch, fully paying off my house and completing the museum in all of them except New Leaf. Heck, I even have Amiibo Festival, and I even have the villager Smash Bros amiibo on my desk at home. Yes, I know what the human villagers look like. Again, look at past Brickheads (as I mentioned in my originals comment) that focus on making a custom character. Both the Barcelona Go Brick Me and the original Go Brick Me focus on creating your own human looking characters. Both genders are "included" in the pack, and parts for different hair styles and outfits are included. This means that you don't have to buy "masculine Go Brick Me" or "feminine Go Brick Me" - the basic shape of these characters (and most "human" Brickheads) are the same. The only exception to this are the Wedding Brickheads, though those were broken up so that one could more easily buy two Grooms, for example. Compare that with most other Brickheads (especially those basic on creatures, like Sonic or Tails). They are meant to look like just one character, and many include specialized builds to look more like those characters. Tails, for example has his... Well, tails. Tom Nook would probably have his nose, and possibly a bushy tail. Isabelle has her hair and ears. They're trying to adapt more complicated and specialized shapes, which means each one gets their own designated Brickhead. The Villagers, at their core, are basic shapes that don't require any specialized parts, and, based on past trends, would probably come as one set.
  20. I don't think that there is enough difference between the different genders of villagers to have it be worth making two different sets - not to mention all of the different skin tones/hair styles that could be included. Having one big set with enough parts to customize it however you want (like the 40542 Barcelona set) would be a better fit. So, I'm going to guess Tom Nook and Isabelle, since we're getting two. I think the best bet for big location sets are the museum, Town Hall, and Able Sisters. They've been in every game and look similar (though not identical) in each installment. I think they'll wait to do Town Hall for a bit (so there's more of an incentive to buy the sets with Tom Nook and Isabelle), and there could be a conflict with the big museum coming out in January (though they obviously appeal to different audiences), so I'll predict that we get Able Sisters next. I'm less sure about what other locations could be coming... It probably depends on how heavily they want to lean into New Horizons, and how much they want to go to older locations (or even new ones, depending on when the next game comes out). An advent calendar could also be interesting... It would probably have more useful furniture builds than the mini ships we get with Star Wars, for example. Even if they do miniaturized locations, that would even fit in with the mini locations you could get back on the Gamecube. And, of course, we could get even more characters/outfits for the characters. The only issue is that it would be one more thing on my shopping list to get...
  21. Wasn't the initial leak for the LKC that it was going to be $350 in price - about $50 less than what it released as? Maybe Lego realised that the price hikes in the last 1-2 years didn't equate to as many sales/as much profit as they had hoped, and so they're going to try to make these kinds of sets less expensive to get more purchases/more profit overall? Viking Village is already really well-priced, and has all printed pieces (including several new ones). Market Square can probably reuse at least a few, and, at most, might only use one new mold for the goat, which would also keep prices down. Either way, I'll stay optimistic for now...
  22. If you want all of them, I would just get them on Bricklink. The cheapest set in the US that I can find, including shipping, is $62.50, not including sales tax. Then, there's no risk involved, and you don't have to worry about paying for duplicates/putting in the mental effort to hunt them down.
  23. Wait... We already know the entire wave? This has got to be one of the quickest leak-to-reveal Lego has done with a line as far away as it is from releasing. The sets maybe feel slightly disorganized, but I think that it helps add to the overall charm, in some way. All of the prints are also nice, especially the KK album covers and the Bell coin. I maybe would have preferred if the fossil was a 2x2, but since it's smaller, it will come with a spare, so I'll give it a pass. Nintendolife has links to all of the sets on Lego's website, if anyone needs it. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2023/10/lego-animal-crossing-launches-march-2024-five-sets-announced
  24. Huh... With Tom Nook and Isabelle in their New Horizons outfits, I was sure that the "big set" would have been Town Hall. I guess Tom Nook wanted to get back to shopkeeping, and Isabelle needed to get out and stretch her legs! I'm also hopeful that the brick built island pieces can even play into the playability aspect, like X-printed tiles that can be lifted or pressed open to find fossils. My thought, set my set: 77050 - Nook's Cranny & Rosie's House: I hope that both the house and the store will be sufficiently large, given that the piece count is only 535 pieces. I could see this set being jam packed with different brick built furniture, though. Based on Nookpedia, Rosie's house seems to have a lot of pink furniture, so hopefully the store will have some different colors? 77049 - Isabelle's House Visit: I initially thought that this might be either Marshall's or Fauna's house, but the more I think about it, the more I think that this set could be the player's house. If I remember correctly, I think Isabelle even ran by the player's house a few times in New Leaf? 77048 - Kapp'n's Island Boat Tour: Haha, I was right in this guess at least! Maybe a part of this set's cost will be going towards some new fish molds? At least give us some printed fish tiles, please! 77047 - Bunnie's Outdoor Activities: This one could really go anywhere, but I imagine it will have a lot of foliage, bugs/fish, and maybe even a small river section or a bridge. Maybe even a slingshot and a balloon present? 77046 - Julian's Birthday Party: If he's throwing a birthday party, he's going to need guests, so I imagine either Marshall or Fauna will be here (I'm leaning towards Marshall, just to break up the spread of the ungulates). So, I'm going to guess that Fauna is in one of the "middle" three sets - though I'll lean towards the Kapp'n set. Seeing how this wave really only visits one major location (Nook's), I think it's a safe bet that there will be a lot more sets down the pipeline. Hopefully that also means we get even more villagers, NPC's (Rover please!), and locations. I also really like how this series has the potential to appeal to a wide variety of Lego fans. Even if you don't care about the minifigs, I imagine that most of the other builds will be able to integrate into other sets/builds pretty easily - and, even then, most of the minifigure parts aren't super specialized and can be used in lots of scenarios. I think this will be a major hit for everyone! Maybe we can get a set like this for Able Sister's, with a lot of clothing items?
  25. No idea. Apparently, that same mod said in the legoleak Reddit Discord server (which I'm not a part of) that the two of them would be coming in an "interesting way," and before August. That's why I'm going to set my expectation low and say they're just going to be brick built portraits, haha.
