LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion

Might I ask what exactly you were listening for? I tried this on a few boxes (tried to listed for the bar rolling around), but I didn't get any luck. Did you listen for the cape-box instead?- 574 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
JohnTPT17 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, now that we've had some time to sit on this (and no one is saying that the sets are fake), here are my thoughts on the new leaks: Sith Infiltrator: Boring, but inevitable, I suppose, with the anniversary. I mean, Lego probably couldn't do an N1 Starfighter due to Mando's being around so recently, and Padme's ship wouldn't look right in normal grey tones. If you wanted to do another vehicle, I guess you also could have gone the AAT route (though that's been done recently) or the droid command ship (never been done at minifig scale, but it would be hard to have that work as a $70 set). Some Naboo location for the Battle of Theed might have been nicer and still have playability (and potentially temp people getting nostalgic for the old Lego Star Wars games), and give more unmade Padme variants (and maybe Boss Nass, even if it doesn't really fit), but I digress. Pass for me. Peridia: Still feels surprising that so many desired, unique minifigs are in one set, but I imagine it will be extremely popular. Personally, I maybe would have swapped Enoch for a Death Trooper or two (I'm not a fan of the guy - just seems like Phasma 2.0 to me), and hopefully Morgan's parts will be able to be reused for other Night Sisters, but I can't complain too much. I imagine the build will be a small platform/circle for Ahsoka and Morgan to duel on, plus maybe one of the Imperial transport ships? (The Imperial Dropship remake was 125 pieces, but would need to be bulked out a bit). Will need more details/photos to know if I would want to get the set, or just a few minifigs. Jedi Bob's Star Fighter: I think it would have been great if this was a May release, and announced by Lego on April 1st, just to mess with people. I do think the set would do better as a $30 set though - that's a price that it could work as an impulse buy for some shoppers/people nostalgic for older Lego sets, but being $40 makes it fall out of that category. For the second minifig, I imagine it will be either an astromech (I think L3-G0 or BR-1CK would be a good name), or possibly a clone. Might get this on a slight sale, depending on how the ship looks. Dark Millennium Falcon: No interest in the ship, but I'm intrigued by the minifigs. I especially might need to see if I can find that version of Vader. I would love it if "blue outfit Gungan" turns out to be Darth Jar-Jar - otherwise, maybe Senator Jar-Jar? I also don't think that Evil C-3P0 is 0-0-0, as new descriptions just say that he has a "black arm," not all-black. if that's the case, then Chewie is also probably not Krrstansen (however you spell it). I imagine that this isn't entirely Lego's idea though - I imagine there could be a tie-in short on Disney+ that could give some background to this, but that's just a guess. Might be into the minifigs, but I don't need the Ven-linnium Falcon. 75392 "Creature Build": Zero interest - most recent Lego creatures have looked anywhere from "fine" to "kill it with fire," and I don't think this will be any different. My guess is that it will be a Loth-Cat. Young Leia, like everyone else is saying, is also a totally wasted spot (even if the description is wrong and it turns out to be a buildable Lola or something). Easy pass. X-Wing vs Tie Fighter: Like the Sith Infiltrator, it makes sense, but I'm not interested - especially when those ships were just available separately for cheaper (and with more minifigs). Being able to make a Z-Wing out of them sounds nice, but it's not a set that interests for me. Death Star Playset: Sorry if I confused anyone yesterday by the incorrect price! $80 sounds like it could be a fair price, but I would need more info to know if I want to get in on that. Cal confirmed is nice - hopefully he also come with BD-1! Not sure exactly what the build will be though... Maybe a hanger of some kind? Sarlacc Pit: Now there's the Lego Str Wars I know - bad PPP and all! I wonder if they will go with multiple skiffs, or one skiff and a Sarlacc with some kind of "stomach," which could even tie in with Book of Boba Fett. No interest in it, though. Buildable C-3PO: As long as it looks better than 8007, this set should be okay at least - droids are easier to make than furry critters. It would be interesting if it has similar functions to 8007 and had a head/limbs that could easily come off, though. No interest from me, though. Advent Calendar: No real thoughts - the mini builds are almost never the draw, but the minifigs still sound reasonable (at least it's a B2 instead of another B1). Jabba's Sail Barge: Was never going to be in my price range anyways, but I can't say rumors of a small to nonexistent interior surprise me after the Venator and Gunship. I imagine Bib Fortuna would be one of the plaque minifigs (to then get his own mech in Summer 2025, to the great sorrow of Bib investors), and Jabba would also make sense if Lego's still got the mold. Either way, I'll pass, as the UCS series has never been for me. So, overall, I think that I'm going to be more interested in picking up a few minifigs as opposed to getting full sets (except maybe Bob's Star Fighter and maybe Peridia). I am very glad at the direction Lego is going with this, though - many of these seem to be a balance of both general audiences and hardcore AFOLs, and hopefully this trend continues. (Still hoping for Rebel Friend in a set though) -

Yeah The only thing missing is Rebel Friend... Hopefully he shows up somewhere, even if unnamed in the Tantive IV set. I could also maybe ask for a Jedi Temple or the Arena... But we're getting plenty. -

I mean, 75096 was $90 retail at 662 pieces (and only had Ani, Watto, Maul, and Qui-Gon). This one sounds like it will be a bargain. -

It's almost too good to be true if you ask me, especially after the "filler" characters in two out of the three Ahsokah sets. Maybe those were all spoiler-locked, and now they get to have their own set? -

Wait... This is all really bizarre. FalconFan is one of the good ones, but this all feels too far out there to be real: 75385: Battle on Perida $40-$50 382 Pieces August 2024 Includes Ahsoka the White, Ezra, Thrawn, Enoch, and Morgan (new face print) 75389: Dark Millennium Falcon $169.99 Includes: Dark Rey, White Outfit Vader, Evil C-3PO, Evil Chewbacca, Gungan in a blue outfit, and potentially one more figure 75398: Buildable C-3PO 149.99 August Release Includes a reused C-3PO 75396: Escape from the Sarlac Pit $89.99 558 Pieces August Release Minifigs: Han, Chewie, Lando, Boba, and two more figures (I'll believe this one more due to Renown's clue) Also not FalconFan, but MichaelBricksForever is claiming that there will be a Cal Kestis minifig this summer. Edit: Missed another one: 75393: X-Wing and TIE Fighter $109.99 Includes a TIE pilot, X-Wing Pilot, an astromech, and 2 additional figures. LEGO Ideas Discussion

Yup - they updated the images yesterday, and added in the creator biographies and photos (which is a really nice touch, I think). I do wish that they had a few more images, though, so that all of the angles and details can be seen on some of the more complex models. I think a few things have been tweaked here and there for some of the models with the new photos, so I'm guessing that these are the "final" products. As far as my personal priority list goes, I think it's roughly: General Store. I've always liked the Wild West, and the build seems fair for the price. The only major concern I have will be the stickers: the page lists that there will be four, and I see three places where they will be applied: the large sign above the store, the small one above the front door, and a "keep out" sign on the back (which could be seen in the earlier product images). I just hope that doesn't mean that the large sign turns into a "GRINGOT TS BANK" type situation. Mountain Fortress. Lovely design, and probably makes a good companion piece for the Lion Knight's Castle. Still, it's a big chunk of change to spend on one set, especially after I talked myself out of getting the Lion Knight's Castle for $300 during Black Friday. I also got lucky and got the Castle in the Forest, so I might simply be good on big Castle sets... Hard to say. Snack Shack. I'm with you RichardGoring; the main build itself feels a little bit small. It reminds me of the Retro Food Truck GWP that is currently out, which is 310 pieces and "valued" at about $25. I don't think the baseplate and outside decorations are quite 200 pieces, and that very well could be a part of the atmosphere/adult-ness of the set , but I do think that getting just the Shack for $30 would be a better buy. (I also feel very similarly about Wave 3's Camping Adventure). So, while it is the cheapest set, it could have been even cheaper... Parisian Street. I'm not a modular guy, so it doesn't appeal to me as much, though I think it's very well designed and has a lot of excellent detail - especially with the "dollhouse" playability. Good set, just not for me. Old Train Engine Shed. I've never understood the appeal of Lego trains, but I do acknowledge that it is a niche in the Lego fandom. Happy for those excited for it - it just doesn't appeal to me at all. So, will I actually get anything? Hard to say... I'm 100% getting the Wave 2 Mushroom House (which will probably be $100), I'm tempted by Art of Chocolate in Wave 3 (probably $250), and unless it's a total dud, I'll also want to get the Medieval Town Square at some point ($230 - though that one should be around for a little bit and doesn't have to be a Day 1 purchase). That would be nearly $600 on Lego this year just between those three, and I'm not sure if I can justify many more purchases than that as a college student. I mentioned this elsewhere, but I am tempted to pull a little bit out of savings, get two of a set I like, and flip the second one to bring down my price a bit to help justify the price, but I also don't want to feel like a dirty scalper for doing that... Dunno. I'll have to give it some more thought as well. -

The App that I used has worked for me just fine. I have noticed that sometimes it will want to scan the barcode instead of the dot matrix code, but I either put my thumb over the barcode or try to "cut off" the barcode from my camera. It took a little trial and error, but it's worked just fine for me for those larger codes. Though that was just from my finds at Best Buy - I've only seen one box (with a smaller code) at either of the two Walmarts close to me. Some day, Bat-Lord...- 574 replies

Sorry to revive this thread again, but the prices for Wave 1 are now up. Pre-orders start on February 7th at 8 AM Pacific Time. Reminder that a household can order up to 2 of each set, with 3,000 being the minimum required to have the set be created, with a total cap at 30,000 copies made, with the sets shipping in July. Old Train Engine Shed - $229.99/EUR 219.99 (2298 parts) Mountain Fortress - $369.99/EUR 339.99 (3986 parts) Parisian Street - $329.99/EUR 289.99 (3465 parts) General Store - $159.99/EUR 139.99 (1848 parts) Snack Shack - $49.99/EUR 44.99 (548 parts) I'm tempted by the General Store, but I'm still trying to keep some money for Medieval Town Square (and possibly the Chocolate Factory come October)... I'll have to stew over it for the next month to see how I want to do it. Maybe I try to get two and resell one when they arrive to help recoup the cost? Dunno, maybe that's bad of me...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Was able to find some today! ...at Best Buy, of all places. Only half the boxes had the larger codes, but I was still able to get three Goatherders and two Harpies - which is enough of those ones for me. Still on the hunt for a few Bat-Lords though! I'll try again Monday to see if Walmart has anything out. Hmm... That's not great, as I know a lot of people used those 6-packs to start, or even complete, their series. However, (and this might be me trying to find order in chaos), but it look like there may still be some kind of pattern based on those photos, with four groups of three: Set A: Harpy, Mushroom Girl, Barbarian (photos 1 and 3) Set B: Dog Groomer, Gamer, Nior Detective (photos 2 and 3) Set C: Bat-Lord, Triceratops, Sprinter ("leftover" from photo 2) Set D: Train Boy, Goatherder, Workout Lady ("leftover" from photo 1) I could be totally wrong in that, but based on those three picture (and what was shown in this unboxing video), it very well could be that that is how those boxes are split up now... More data would be needed to know for sure, though. Anyone else have any six-pack experiences?- 574 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Glad I was able to help a few people find these - though all the credit goes to Jay! No luck yet for me though... Nothing at two Walmarts, a Kohls, or a Smiths (all of which have had past series), and the local Bricks and Minifigs just closed (hopefully to reopen under new management soon). At worst, I do have some boxes coming from MinifigureMadness in a few weeks, so I'll get a full set from that, but I was hoping to pick up a few duplicates. Hard to say if those stores just sold out super quickly, don't have them on shelves yet, or simply won't be getting any more minifigs.- 574 replies

Jay's Brick Blog now has a good write-up on the newer QR codes. It also includes the regional differences, which should also help with some of the confusion. My local stores haven't had them in stock, but I'll try a few other places to see if I can find a few goats, Bat-lords, and Harpies. I would imagine that putting braille on every Lego set could get spendy (and it might not work for a few items, like polybags), but it would be an interesting way to solve the blind box dilemma.- 574 replies

Disney Properties 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Huigberts Builds's topic in LEGO Licensed
They're also on Reddit on the Lego leaks page, if Instagram is giving you trouble. Stitch looks pretty good, even though I'm not really a fan of the character or the movie. I do think it's a bit odd that he has a shirt and not full blue body, but I'm sure he will still be very popular. Heck, they could even re-release it with a new design like Groot with either a full-blue look, or with the red suit. Not for me, but I highly respect it and think it looks pretty good. The Encanto ones are a little more mixed for me. First, why not minifigs?! I guess not enough Disney Trains sold to justify more princess minifigs, even though we've already gotten a Mirabel minidoll. Ah, well - those sets are probably more for a younger audience anyways. The Isabella set is much stronger in my opinion - I could see it even appealing to those in to the Botanical line, and her new minidoll looks well-designed (Pocahontas's hair is perfect). The Mirabel set is much weaker in my eyes, but I'm also not the target audience. -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
What If has been some of my favorite Marvel content in awhile! I haven't been super interested in many of the most recent films, and I've even been disappointed by a lot of the shows (I'm probably one of five people out there that didn't like Loki Season 2). But What If was exactly what I was expecting - not perfect, but still a fun, enjoyable time through the whole season. If we're going to keep wishlisting the What If minifigs, then here are my two cents: I was also at my Target the other day - they had the X-Jet out for $84.99 - right next to a pile of unsold Hoopties, with almost everything else sold out. Feels very poetic to me... -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Interesting that Jay's Brick Blog mentioned that box distribution is now fully randomized (though still with three full sets in each box) . With Marvel 2, there was a pattern that was fairly accurate to where the figs would be. I also noticed that most early reviewers seem to have gotten the 12-minifig boxes instead of a full case - maybe that means the 12-minifig boxes will be more widely available this time? Also, as someone who sorted through four cases of the Marvel 2 boxes, I could visually tell that there is a difference with the amount of glue that is used on these things. Some boxes had small, straight lines, while others would have slight curl on one or both ends. I don't know if that is enough to throw off weights (I don't have scale to know for sure), but it is something that I noticed.- 574 replies

LEGO Ideas Discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Okay... The Botanical Gardens set is one I get. The Friends set with the same theme was pretty well received even by people who aren't in to Friends, and that set could very well retire, or be close to retiring, by the time the Ideas model gets produced. Maybe not my first pick, but I still respect it, even though it feels slight more Bricklink Designer Program level of niche, and might struggle a bit as a $300 retail set. I could be wrong, though. Probably going to be out of my price range either way,, but I still respect and understand this pick. Twilight though?! That has got to be from the same creative minds that chose the BTS set. I mean, what kind of cultural relevance does Twilight still have? Maybe they think that people who grew up with those books are now in AFOL-age territory, and would be nostalgic and want the set? I don't have any stake in it - I think I read the books back in grade school and didn't think much of them - but I feel like pop culture has make it sound like Twilight is just a collective phase everyone went through a decade ago. Seuss, Shrek, Narnia, or Bluey would have been much better "pop culture" choices. Bizarre choice, and I think it will be, at most, a parts back for most AFOLs, since I don't even know how impressive the build will be unless you really want that style of a modern home. There were far better choices in that wave, but Lego Ideas has been making odd choices for awhile now. Too bad those licensed ones won't be in the Bricklink Designer Program - any of those four would have been much better picks. -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Luke, Han, Leia, Maul, Anakin, Padme, Stormtrooper, Fennic Shand, Kylo Ren, Rey, Zori Bliss, First Order trooper, Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, and several clones can be played in the game. Phoenix, Black Widow, Hulk, Captain America, Captain Marvel, X-23, Daredevil, Patch, Cable, Domino, Psylocke, Cap Falcon, Ghostrider, Green Goblin, Gambit, Rogue, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Mary Jane, Black Panther, Nick Fury, Ant-Man, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Gamora, and Taskmaster are all available as well, as long as you have bought the original skins. Unless if you are talking about villager characters, though, in which case you are correct. I also imagine that more will be added with future updates from Star Wars, Marvel, and hopefully DC and other licenses as well. For those curious, I went through the Wiki and found where each of the Lego villagers originate: ["real" Lego name/In-game name (set of origin)] Hiker Guy/Silas (Series 16) Birdwatcher/Robin (Series 22) Farmer/Otis (Series 15) Groom/Roan (Series 22) Sprocket (Set 40409) Paleontologist/Flint (Set 21320) Archeologist/Petra (Series 13) Pirate Girl/Sally Sails (Series 20) Pirate Cook/Salty (Set 70413) Snow Cap (Set 60194) Jungle Explorer/Sawyer (Series 19) Shipwreck Survivor/Carl Reef (Series 21) T-Rex Costume Fan/Gus (Series 24) Penguin Slushy Vendor/Slush (Set 60384) Yeti/Yeti (Series 11) Tiger Woman/Tabby (Series 14) Lionbrand (Set 10305) Gold Prospector/Nugget (Set 45023) Dana (Set 7189) And the list of Fortnite-original villagers are: Aura Beef Boss Blue Squire Brite Bomber Cuddle Team Leader Crystal Hayseed Meowscles Peely Frozen Peely Sparkplug Sunflower Raptor Rex Skye Blackheart Calamity Fishstick Frozen Fishstick Mazy Notably, that's exactly 20 Fortnite-original minifigs at launch. It would be interesting if, come September, those 20 were used as a minifig series... Not a lot of my first picks, especially with two frozen duplicates, but still an idea. -
Capybara is my guess for a new animal. It seems to be the new trendy "cute" creature, and the mold would be smaller to make. My most wanted ones? Tigers again (that old one is super expensive), with new cubs. Wildcard picks: anteater, aardvark, or Asian elephant, depending on the continent.

Brick Clicker just reported that the Snow White Cottage will be coming next year: 43242 - Snow White's Cottage - March 1 2023 - $219.99 USD Should include Snow White (he said it would probably be the same one from the castle) and seven dwarf minifigs. -
Huh, that leaked surprisingly quickly. Leak photos of Medieval Town Square next, please! (Though I fully know neither we nor the leakers have total control over that). I have a lot of feelings towards this series like I would a "normal" licensed series. It seems to mostly cater towards a very niche audience within the Lego community, but unlike something like The Simpsons or The Muppets, I don't see a lot of appeal here for those who are outside of Lego... Especially in a blind box format. However, even if you aren't totally into the older space series (like me), there might be a handful of ones that might interest you. Anyways, my thoughts: A better photo might improve my opinion a little but, but this one isn't really selling the "small aliens inside a big alien" story to me at a glance. The legs and torso also seem a bit boring. Antenna is an interesting touch. Pass for me, though. Odd that this guy is chef-inspired, and it looks like he might have on some skates to make him taller and could possibly use the legs from Doctor Rathbone from Monster Fighters, but is (EDIT: Looking again, I think the legs are new... Possibly one piece?) Still doesn't interest me. Another pass. Why would they not bring back the nifty retro gun that the original Space Hero had, and instead give her this overused one?! Wasted potential on that accessory. I also think she maybe could have been given a cape - I'll probably give her one if I end up purchasing one. Maybe for me. I have no connection to the old space themes, so the impact of this guy is probably a bit lost. based on what I see, though, nothing overly interesting. Pass. From the list last night, I assumed the UFO would be around the waist like most of the other costumed minifigs, but being around the neck is unique. Maybe. A bland, filler character that could have been from any series. I think the Classic Alien from Series 6 did this classic alien look much better. Easy pass. The first one I like! Glad to see the Faun legs continuing to get used. Interested to see what he would look like in a higher-quality photo. Kinda reminds me of those spider-morphed people from The Orville. On my wishlist. I can't knock it too hard since it does seem to be accurate for real-life, modern astronauts, but to my casual eyes, it looks almost identical to dozens of other ones the City line has produced for several years. Pass for now... Might be a maybe with better pictures. Like the M-Tron guy, I don't have any connections to the older themes, so a lot of this (especially things like the orange chainsaw) don't mean much to me. I've always liked penguins, but it's hard to get a read on this one. Pass for now. Another bland, uninteresting character to me. Feels like the newly-leaked half-Venom characters from Marvel, where the transformation feels a little forced and only half-baked. Pass. (EDIT: On closer look, I can now see that he does have a faun leg and double arms on the green side of his body, but it's still a bit of a hodge-podge for me). Poor Orion is going to break his back carrying this series. Fantastic idea, looks pretty good, and what looks like a new weapon, and his constellation on his shield?! Easy MVP of the series; would love to see follow-ups in either future series or even in a stand-alone set with other similar heroes/gods. I wonder is the club will show up in Medieval Town Square, it would be a shame to just have it here. Wishlist, will try to get a couple if possible. So, combine EVE from Wall-E and Pixal from Ninjago's designs, and make her a nurse? Sure, I guess. Pink space baby carries this one - another bland and uninteresting minifig for me. Grumpily wishlist just for space baby. So, three on my wishlist, two maybes, and pass on the other seven. Again, Orion is the only super strong standout for me, but overall I just might not be the target for this series. If it's everything you've been wanting since the original themes retired, though, more power to you!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
JohnTPT17 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Descriptive list leaked via Childish Landino, and reposted by FalconFan. So, this should all be legit: Human robot suit for tiny aliens Classic Space Robot Retro Spacewoman (Female version of Series 17 Fig) M-Tron Redux Alien in UFO Costume Grey Alien Tourist Alien Insectoid Modern Astronaut Ice Planet Redux with Space Penguin Mutated BlackTron Orian with translucent parts Space Nurse with Pink Space Baby I was initially hesitant on this series, but this could actually have a few interesting ones for someone like me with no big ties to the old space themes... Orian sounds almost like a ghost/mythological minifig. I'm also interested in what a "space penguin" could look like, and another space baby. I would need to do more research in order to better appreciate most of these though... Think we have enough to start a dedicated thread now? -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
X-23 As much as I would love some of these minifigs to sneak into "real" Lego Fortnite sets (assuming they come... They have to come, right?), I do think the chances are going to be low. I think the most cross-themed standard retail set I can think of 70815, with The Lego Movie, Batman, Ninjago, and Adventurers... But three out of those four were in-house themes anyways.
