  1. Agreed. I definitely do like the reliability and certainty of other leakers, but having some riddles on this little corner of the Internet was also great to have. Hopefully Lego doesn't take out anyone else... Assuming we're reading this correctly and we're not all getting sentimental over nothing!
  2. Looking through Renown's profile, there are some other smaller quotes from other sources/the Bible. Though I don't think that any of them were a direct tease for a character - moreso in response to a Eurobricks user. So, sadly, it may be a sign that Renown (or Renown's source) has gone dark... If, so, thanks for the fun teases you have given, @Renown!
  3. Okay. So, the last lines of 1984... I can only find two things that relate to that year on Wookiepedia: the birth years of E. K. Johnston, who wrote the Ahsoka novel, or, it's a refence to the year that Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure released. If it's a refence to the first one... The only thing I can think of is that the Inquisitor that goes after Ahsoka, and it's a reference to us getting a set for Tales of the Empire (which has a shot of the same Inquisitor). I think the second one makes more sense though... What is "Young Leia" is actually the girl from the film, Cindel Towani? And the "Creature Build" is an Ewok? It even came out at the end of 1984, and the line comes from the end of the book. Now that would be a deep cut. Unless the line is supposed to be more literal, and it's a hint at a character that's accepted defeat/been brainwashed and indoctrinated. Something to do with the First Order? Barriss?
  4. I might have thought that at one point as well... But, we've got the Twilight set coming from Ideas sometimes soon, and I would have thought that demographic was outside of what Lego would do as well. And I also don't think having a one-off popular character from something unrelated means that the set might not be popular with them - just look at the prices on Harley Quinn from Apocalypseburg. Either way, though, it would require 1. Deadpool 3 sets to be made, 2. TS signing off and getting her cut, and 3. Finding a set that would still be sellable with that minifigure in there, especially over other characters who may be in the movie. It's not impossible, but I don't think it's going to happen (especially when Taylor Swift Ideas sets have been shot down numerous times). That would really be a waste of a CMF, in my opinion. The wider Marvel ones have given us characters (or at least versions of characters) outside of sets we might not otherwise get from shows that might not have gotten sets. If we get a vanilla Avengers CMF, it would probably have to have the six OG's in there in some form, which would take up half the roster, and is there interesting enough versions of them left to justify them being there? If not, then it would turn out like the Harry Potter CMFs (featuring the main characters in usually ordinary looking outfits), which, at least near me, weren't very popular.
  5. If by "Franchise" you're talking about the Deadpool trilogy (widely known for being crass and not matching Lego's standards), I could see an argument being made that this film acts more of a standalone than as a "Deadpool 3," if you get what I mean. Especially if they make a PG-13 cut, it could help separate it from the previous films. Again, it's splitting hairs, but there could be an argument there (not one I think I'm willing to defend... But it's there). If by "Franchise" you're talking about Lego's reputation of only making PG-13 and under characters - Well, Echo slipped through the cracks, so there is technically precedent now. And you could even possibly make an argument about Punisher or Daredevil, though they are probably comics-inspired and not tied directly to the Netflix-based series. Same argument for the already-existing Deadpool minifigure. Either way, I don't think we're getting sets based on Deadpool & Wolverine, even with a PG-13 cut. I agree with you - there's a lot of baggage with the series that doesn't really mesh with Lego. I'm mostly just playing Devil's Advocate and thinking through some possible scenarios out loud - as unlikely as they are.
  6. As far as Marvel at large goes, I do think it's possible they throw a PG-13 cut on Disney+ at some point - especially if this movie is going to shift things around in the "Sacred Timeline" main branch of the MCU, and they want everyone to be able to stay "caught up" for future films and not be locked out of certain films (which aren't available in certain areas/under certain age restrictions). They've already tested those waters via Once Upon a Deadpool, so I don't think it's completely out of the question. If there are plans for that, then there's a slim chance Lego could produce sets specifically for that version (and basically have both the PG-13 cut and the sets release about 6-8 months after release, like the No Way Home sets), but that's an unlikely loophole that probably won't be used - even if this film does rake in a bunch of cash at the box office.
  7. I'd be willing to take a slightly lower minifigure count if it means we get more sets down the lines with more characters (at a better value than the X-Jet), especially since there's more seasons of X-Men '97 coming up and this series arguably has the most goodwill towards it out of all current MCU products. If this is supposed to be a one-and-done deal, though, then I want Lego to go all-out with the minifigs - especially if a significant portion are reusing prints and/or repeating characters. I don't think it would be unreasonable to think Lego could afford to give us 15ish minifigs in a $300 set, especially with reusing parts - though, I am still going to keep my expectations closer to 10 until we hear otherwise.
  8. Oh, I agree. Even something as simple as throwing in a few hair pieces with clones/stormtroopers could add a lot of value and not hurt a set's price in any major way.
  9. Reused Aurora? Really? Took the words out of my mouth. I do like the Aurora that we got with the CMF - I'm only familiar with the broad strokes of the movie and the character, so I thought that the minifigure looked good and wasn't bothered by inaccuracies to the movie - but having a Briar Rose minifig, especially if a full princess dress minifig was in the pipeline, would have been much better. And it's not in the same boat as, say Snow White, who was locked to an expensive set and is being put into something cheaper - it's going from a $5 blind bag to a $35-40ish set, and most people who really wanted her would have gotten her at this point, either at retail or on Bricklink. Ah, well... Another leak, another wave of waiting for Belle to come to the minifigure party...
  10. At the same time, erring on the side of caution is probably good - to make sure there aren't any false hopes that are crushed. Last year, the updated Disney castle was rumored to have "at least eight" minifigures, which lead to some disappointment when there were only eight minifigs in the final product (someday I'll have you, Belle...)
  11. Oh, yeah... I keep forgetting about those tail end licensed Lego board games that never made it to the states. Those always looked cool, and I'd love to get them if they weren't so expensive... Still, if we use that set as a template for Helm's Deep minifigs, that would give us: Aragorn, Eowyn, Gimli, Haldir, Theodin, and Legolas for named characters. 4 Rohan soldiers 11 "regular" Uruk-Hai 5 Uruk-Hai Beserkers 2 specialty Uruk-Hai If we cut out those two specialty Uruk-hai and have only one Beserker, that would be 22 minifigs. Yes, it's more than Rivendell, but a lot of those prints would be repeated for the soldiers and Uruk-Hai, and I think that gives enough soldiers on each side to feel substantial.
  12. Everyone's who's hoping for new minifigures in the GWP - be careful you're not wishing on a Monkey's Paw. All it takes is one internet outage, or the Lego website crashing at midnight, to make sure you don't get that GWP - and, if people ever want it down the line, it's going to be very expensive to find it (just look at the old Star Wars exclusive characters). Either way, hopefully we can get smaller sets again at some point... I don't have the budget for any of this. I'd cut down on the number of Rohan soldiers and elves - I think Uruk-hai should be the focus. I also might throw in Eowyn if there's not any plans for Edoras (which is probably not super high priority for Lego) - that way, there's a new, exclusive character to attract old-timers, and it's one of the few times she would be able to be gotten in "normal" clothes (since against the Witch-King, she would be armored).
  13. I doubt it's related to LoTR at all. It's probably either the Micro Fruit Store that's been leaked or the Single's Day Ideas set - though that one is more likely November.
  14. I honestly think that a Max Rebo mech would sell just as well, if not better, than a lot of the other mechs that Lego's put out. Let Jabba and maybe Crumb be reused for a smaller playscale set, keep Leia and some of the aliens exclusive, like Yularen... And let Max have a mech, because why not?! I doubt it would ever happen, though.
  15. I don't think Lego has given any proper names to the minifigs from minifig series - outside of licensed ones, of course. Even in Series 4, which clearly had Frankenstein's monster, just has "The Monster" as the official name. Sounds like the name of a Gyroid from Animal Crossing. 1 Imposter Remains...
  16. I don't have near that much cash or room for the set, but at least those minifigs/molds are getting reintroduced - and hopefully they can pull a Rex and get used in cheaper sets down the line. Any bets on a Max Rebo mech for Summer 2025?
  17. I see we're going the Sesame Street route and sticking minifig heads on BB-8 bodies to beef up the minifig count then, eh? I personally think that Joy looks pretty good as a minidoll. That being said, it's still a minidoll, and I don't need any cubes, so I'm not getting the set. Maybe I'll get Joy at some point down the road if I can find her for dirt cheap, but I'm not going to loose sleep over it.
  18. Qui-gon and Ani look good, and I like that Saw's green is darker than first impressions made him look. Maul's cataract eyes are a miss, though. I don't really have any opinions on the ship either, since I don't really care about it. I feel like if the price was a little cheaper, or if it had another minifigure or two, it would move a lot more units. As-is, though, I think it will be stuck on store shelves.
  19. Thanks for explaining that! I missed the translation as well, personally. Has Lego ever printed glow-in-the-dark parts before, though? Like, where the ink glows, and not the base part underneath? The closest I could find was 9464 from the Monster Fighters, but that's a glow-in-the-dark sticker.
  20. Even if that's a hill you want to die on - that's not something that happens with MTS. The Wolfpack Thief, Guardstower Guy, and Tax Collector - the three "soldiers" of the set - all have masculine heads, and that shouldn't be an issue. Looking at the rest of the set, having some women tradeswomen isn't completely unheard of - especially if all of the men are away fighting. Also, since you have a newer account - there's already been several discussions about the heads used for the Lion Knight's Castle (which is what you may be referring to) over in the thread about that set. If you really want to spend an extra $400 to purge yourself of less than a dozen heads (when you could just get a few extra from Bricklink, or even from Lego directly via Pick a Brick for a few dollars) - that's on you. Sorry if that was worded a little strongly, but I personally find it a little ridiculous when adults get upset over a could of heads in a premium set, when, if they have the money to get the set in the first place, also would have the money to get a few replacement heads, if it really bothers them that much - especially when the set is already clearly at least a little bit in the realm of fantasy, with a wizard and a family of thieves living in the castle undetected.
  21. I'm glad to see that the scannable codes are continuing for these, based on some of the comments! Hopefully they'll all the the "big codes" this time and not have smaller ones mixed in like with S25. New thoughts based on the new images (which can be found here: https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-71046-series-26-brings-back-best-feature) Modern Astronaut: Basic, but I also can't fault it - it does exactly what it sets out to do, and it would feel odd to not have it in the series. Looks like it could have several interesting extra parts. Mini Alien Suit Guy: Brick Fanatics is reporting that the antennae is detachable from the hair, for those who were interested. Still a miss for me overall, though. Alien Tourist: Sorry, y'all - I still haven't been able to come around on this guy yet. He's not bad, he's just not my favorite, like he seems to be for so many people. Retro Astronaut: Whoever called her having a ponytail - you were right! Still not a fan of the gun choice, but I should be able to replace it. Probably one of the ones I like more in this wave. M-Tron Man: I have no nostalgia for the classic space wave, so I don't have any ties to him. The grabber arm and hose look nice, though. Robot Nurse: It looks like she has trans-blue arms with the new photos, which I think is pretty cool. I think that small detail (along with Pink Space Baby) brings this one up to Number 1 for me! UFO Costume: Pretty good - he's got Earth and the moon on the back of his torso. I wonder if it would look better if it was on the front, though... I'm a little more interested in him than I was before, at least. Ice Planet Woman: She does have an ice planet logo under the armor part, but like the M-Tron Man, I've got no nostalgia for it. I wish the penguin was less robotic as well. Classic Robot: I feel like something is missing, but I can't put my finger on it... Maybe it's the head? Or he needs a backpack/jetpack of some sort? I dunno... Alien Insectoid: Cool, but I feel like the Monster Series Fly Monster I recently picked up scratched the itch I had for a minifig like this first. Orion: So close to greatness, brought down by that goofy grin and the choice of hair. The shield looks great though - probably the best accessory after Space Baby. Blacktron Mutant: I'll say it again: I don't have nostolgia for the old Space themes, so this guy doesn't do it for me. He also just feels cobbled together - I think that if they went full-out on the mutant green legs and arms (even while keeping the torso as-is, for people that would want it - not unlike that purple alien from a few series ago), I would like him more. Overall, my top ones are Nurse PIXAL, Retro Astronaut, UFO Costume, and Orion. I've got two boxes coming from Minifigure Madness that I'll be splitting, so I'll end up with all of them anyways, but for the most part, it's been a miss for me.
  22. First off, I don't buy the random "Fake Falcon" post. Renown was teasing the Jedi Bob set as early as November (two months before the full leak came out). I think it's far more likely that there's some joker over on Reddit trying to stir the pot, than both leakers getting things incorrect. I am looking forward to R2-KT though! Especially with it being a cheaper set, I might even be able to buy that one outright, as opposed to just getting the figure loose on Bricklink, to help show some support. All depends on what the final set ends up looking like, of course, but I'll keep my mind open to it. Overall, strong choices for bonus anniversary figs (besides Young Leia, of course - even if you didn't think she's a wasted slot, she'd be easy to make a purist custom of). Instested to see what the full sets will look like!
  23. This mentality is what brought us that overpriced, minifigure-lacking X-Jet, which, at least as far as I've seen, has been warming shelves ever since it released. Just look at the Bugle - there was no "need" to put in figures like Daredevil, Punisher, Blade, Black Cat, Firestar, and more - but, it lead to more satisfaction and "perceived value" of the product, leading to more sales. Even the Avengers Tower, which had a lot of repeats, had over 30 minifigs. Unless they really go all-out with the minifigs, the Mansion is going to feel very underpopulated compared to the Bugle and the Avengers Tower. 10 minifigures might be enough to cover the basics... But, without more than that, I might skip, or just look for the figs on Bricklink.
