Heroica RPG - Quest #4: Taming the Lions
Tanma replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
IC: De'kra stares in shock as his lightning strike managed to draw blood from the powerful Prongcanis Axeman. It wasn't the greatest attack, but he actually had wounded a foe. De'kra after a period of shock and pleasure, the shade resumed the attack, swiping at the Axeman from the Front Row once more. The shade flicked his blades carefully, as he readied to attack. -
Still, earth is not only uncreative, it doesn't really give the right amount of respect to a home world. You give the prisons and outer rim colonies the bad names and you give the nice habitable worlds names that reflects their pleasant nature. I could understand calling Earth Gaia since that is a word for "earth" yet also elevates the world to mother goddess standing, but dirt has no such positive connotation.
-
Nice to see that there are other planets in our solar system, I wonder which one is our's? Either way at the least the name isn't bland like Earth. Who names a mostly ocean planet after dirt anyway?
-
I would have the opportunity to see it, but until I finish the quest I won't have the funds. Still, the quest is enjoyable enough for me to not worry so much about gems.
-
So many pretty gems to merge with one of my many blades. Sure I have no money, but if we win the quest we will have 250 gold each(if I calculated right). Even subtracting the 42 De'kra owes to his comrades, I could definitely get a gem and fuse it. But since we are only halfway done, the odds of completing the quest soon are not likely. Curse this epic quest with a rich cast of characters, fascinating plot, and night system of travel that adds a nice layer of realism to the game. Curse this quest and all it's wonderful features that make me have no regrets about joining it! ...but seriously, hopefully I remember to not take a quest near October next year, so that I have a better chance to claim a gem.

That would mean that all of us are stronger than a level 1 hero even without weapons. Even De'kra who is a level less than the rest of the group.

De'kra nodded, a little nervous that he was an important part of the battle strategy. "Okay leader, I will attack Prongcanis Axeman of Back Row. Hope I luck work now time." The dshade flicked his dagger back and forth, as he readied to attack. -
Nur will forever be called the Hero who Lived(should he pull this off).

De'kra turns to the group and clicks, "Things change fast here. Heroes and I head back towards Eubric now? Nothing more heroes and I can do here. Also, heroes and I have two clues to look at in Eubric. Best heroes and I hurry." -
Okay, all Nur has to do is get a perfect throw, and he wins. That's all, no pressure, you just can't make a single mistake or you will die. In other news, I have a question about quests. Could a player pitch an idea for a quest to someone with more time and sets? For instance, you think of an idea involving a grant castle, but the biggest structure you can make is shorter than a 2008 Matoran. Or you have this long detailed quest dreamed up, but you have midterms fast approaching and a fewpapers coming up. Could you present the idea to someone better suited to running a quest, so that they could use it if they so liked?

IC: De'kra noted that the elve lords seemed to have a rivalry, even in a time of war. He would have thought that during a war you put aside your differences completely to defend your people. Still it wasn't like the two lords we're engaging in battle, it was merely an insult or two. De'kra realized that once more he would have to revise his understand of social interactions between the Ulanders. He also didn't understand that Rome-ant-icism sickness that those two heroes, but he figured that said emotion was his limit, and everything else could one day be understood. Hopefully. -
If Nur and Maurice can pull off this victory, they are some of the greatest heroes the hall has ever seen.

IC: De'kra nods and clicks, "I agree. Heroes and I need to continue. Heroes and I no know how long before Lion Knights attack, it best might heroes and I not waste much time. I have question, I was think about it while other Makuta play card game. Might outsiders were come to Eubric, why Boat-House not react? Boat-House drove off orcish invasion long ago, why boat-house not react now?" The shade waited for a response, worried that the Bonepartes might also be allied with the Lion Knight invaders. -
Oh course, but I think I might as well to show how he has grown by the time he reached level 15. At the least I will find a better hat for him.
-
I wonder what a cleric and a Rogue would make? But despite the cool sorcerer features odds are that De'kra will become an assassin, as one, they look so cool; two, rangers were my second choice for a character, and three; the clothes for an assassin might be easier for me to obtain than the color garb of a sorcerer.
-
It's over nine thousand! But seriously, now I fear for our quest if you plan on making the boss unique in strength. And with De'kra's record, a foe of over 180 will slaughter him easily.

De'kra describes the event a little better, all the while having a vague memory of sailing to the south and then towards the sky. The memory is full of gaps and he isn't even sure it involved a boat at all. But there was something important to the southern sky... -

De'kra reminds the group of the dragon themed knight they met so long ago, the one who told them that the dagger was of the Lion Knights. Do the other heroes remember that far back in their adventure? -

De'kra clicks, "I think person who told heroes and I about lion knights said one Lion Knight mention Crownies. Remember other heroes? He had dragon theme I think." Will the others remember this encounter at their first town? -

De'kra clicked softly, "Sail southwards, then up." His eyes were dimmer as he spoke, like a king whose kingdom has fallen. In the next second his eyes were back to their normal glow, as if it had been a dream. "Heroes and I also know knights had near Mopag Forest," clicked the shade, "might it help." -

De'kra nods to Tomas but nervously ways for the news on the Shadeaux hiring the team previously to be brought up. De'kra knew they would be safe as they had permission, but he worried a little if the leader would remember to show the form. The shade knew that the odds were that the cleric would know to inform the lord, but a part of him still worried. -

De'kra thanks the others, bowing deeply at them. "I try use cloak well," promised the shade, "and when heroes win quest, I hope, I repay money. Now heroes and I head to meet elf lord Normom?" -

De'kra nods and clicks, "I reafy to go." The shade feels a little sad that he cannot afford the capes of the stand, as they would be quite useful to him, and in some cases to the group at large. But sadly it doesn't appear like he will get them anytime soon. -
At least De'kra has an excuse in his currently unrevealed origin story. Technically he has two reasons for the universe and or gods to hate him, but one he has no control over so it isn't really his fault. The other reason for the universal kharma De'kra actually remembers, though he won't talk about it around clerics unless they re attacking him.
-
De'kra only learned the concept of personal property just before reaching Heroica, after it got beaten into him. Apparently people don't like you breaking their vases to look for valuables, even though there are so many colorful gems within. And so he learned that people can own things and have the right to smash you with a frying pan until you leave. would think they would let short people with funny hats get away with it, but apparently not.
