  1. De'kra nodded at the other rogue, and clicked, "I call I De'kra. I think you were member of Quest 13 yes? I heard of Quest in Library when heroes and I finish heroes and I Quest. What was Quest 13 like?"
  2. De'kra sat in the hall, alone. It wasn't that other heroes didn't frequent the Hall, a few Quests had recently ended and many heroes were back at Heroica. But De'kra knew pretty much none of them, and thus he felt no need to reach out. Of course he might go on a quest with some of these heroes in the future, but for the moment there was no pressing need to interact with other heroes.
  3. IC: De'kra clicked to Benji, "good luck on you quest. Make sure you remember mistakes of Quest, heroes and I trust employer too much, nor suspect Shadeaux behind plan enough. Remember that for you Quest, even you employer might use you, so take nothing on word alone. Listen for actions too."
  4. Brilliant, the ants will slaughter all those soldiers. All you need is to collect a ton of sugar, and fling it into the battle field by catapult. The sugar will sprinkle over the battlefield and attract the ants, who will maul the soldiers over the sugar.
  5. IC: De'kra did a single twitch to himself as he heard more hatred towards the orc race. The shade knew practically nothing about Eubrics history and past, although he was aware of the war 250 years ago. But looking at the state of this city, he would be hesitant to claim that it was a good thing the Orc's didn't reach Eubric. The city is so corrupt and toxic, it is impossibly to know if the Orc's would have been this ba. They could of been worse, it is very likely that they would have been harsher, enslaving the humans and such of the land. But doesn't Eubric enslave Orc's? And no matter who does it slavery is horrible. One might even argue that the houses of Eubric treat the populous as slaves, or at least they consider the lives of their people equivalent to rocks. Besides, it is pretty much impossible for all Orc's to be bad, unless they are like an ant coloy. Prongcanis attacked the group all throughout their quest, but one of them gave the group information. The Shadeaux condemned the north to war, but one their youths worried about a missing child of a lower class. Most heroes seem decent, but then there is Wren. Only races who areone in mind can claim that they are all good or all evil, once free will is added to the equation then such unifying concepts are useless.
  6. IC: De'kra noticed that the ranger's mind had gone on to other matters, and in turn shifted his attention to different concerns. Those villagers in his memories, why were they so blurry? Every so often he got a taste of what they looked like, but it was barely anything. He know that they were roughly humanoid, with two arms, two legs, a body, no tail, and one head with two eyes, but aside from that he knew nothing about them. They could look like anything from a troll to an elf. So what were they?
  7. Now as an American I have no clue what is going on in the world unless it directly affects me, but according to Wikipedia... Now I am aware that Wikipedia is often wrong or misleading (how dare they reduce the number of Bionicle articles), but on the chance that this is true then the Monarchy still does possess power.
  8. IC: De'kra shook his head and clicked, "You read I expression wrong. I not particularly upset about quests, I have not even signed up for second quest yet. I annoy that other heroes gone, and I have few heroes to speak to. By way, look at message heroes on Quest 17 sent about Lion Knights and houses."
  9. IC: De'kra nodded and handed him the Cloak of the Elven Spy. "Use it well," the shade stated, "Remember to return it to I after you Quest, if I still here." De'kra would miss that cloak, though not too much. The significance of it to him wasn't really it's power, but that two of the other heroes had helped him buy it. Sure he had paid them back later, but it was still kind of them to do so.
  10. IC: De'kra noticed the reply and responded; .
  11. IC: De'kra sighed to himself, for soon another Quest would begin and he would be alone. It was his own fault, but it would still be a slow time. But De'kra could wait, soon enough one of the current quests would end anyway. In the meantime De'kra remembered something that the Mage might want to know. Quickly he enscribed into the strange book.
  12. Put his Deathnote in it then seal it up after he crawls inside? But on topic, I like the idea of a world map, at the least it could give us a better sense of scale of houses. I do worry about making a map for Quest 4, as we traveled all across Uland. That might be hard to bring to scale. If someone is willing to tackle it though more power to them.
  13. De'kra nodded at the ranger, though he was still distracted. Those six villages still lurked in his mind, and the more he thought of them the more details were filled in. The villages were in many different environments, one above a forest, one underground, one even lurked inside a lake of lava. Even as the island and the six villages began to redefine into better details, the shade strained to remember those heroic villagers, who appeared as blurs in his mind. Who were they, where in the world were they? Or were they even of Olegaia?
  14. De'kra accepts that cleric get their power from somewhere, but is hesitant to state it is from gods. He has had run in with false gods in the past, and although it was a benevolent entity it still made him a bit more cautious about legends. He thinks that legends tend to be born of truth, but that they grow distorted that the truth is lost.
  15. IC: De'kra wondered what this book the Mage...Arthur...left could mean for future Quests. If instantaneous communication could work, then heroes could split into two teams, and know immediately if the other group was attacked. Information could be traded from across vast distances, changing the fate of a quest. It could change Eubric, although if De'kra's memories were of Xu, the aoi already had such technology. OOC: Darths and Droids is good, how many comics can honestly say, Jar-Jar you're a genius, without looking insane?
  16. IC: De'kra looked over at the image of the Fey One, his favorite of the Veterans. The barbarian had grown on him, now that he understood that Eubric was a horrible place, but the Fey One would always interest him. Not so much because of any physical attraction, but because of some similarities, at least in the mind of De'kra. The Fey One, much like De'kra, was said to have been immune to the plague of Rome Ant Icism. Perhaps others might exist with such immunity as well, and they might be able to create a cure. Likewise the Fey One was a mystery, and although De'kra didn't understand any people cared if this elf was male or female, he understood a little about confusion and mysteries. Perhaps De'kra was just searching for something familiar, but he found comfort there. After a time recovering, the shade reentered the main region of the Hall. He was a little more upbeat, though he was still changed from when he first joined Heroica. But he would try not to wangst anymore about his mistakes, he owed those six villages that much. As he walked through the hall he spotted a note from that mage from before. The shade read through it, and nodded to no one in particular. Hopefully this Arthur would avoid the foolishnesses De'kra had succumbed to, and instead would save lives. A part of De'kra was glad that he might have saved another hero from his mistakes, but he knew that won't make up for even just Quest 4. No, he would have to go Questing again, but not just yet. OOC: looking at the Fey One, I am reminded a little of V from Order of the Stick.
  17. Check into the Orc's backstory, they accepted the job to rescue the children because they needed money for their village, which was massacred by Ennoc followers.
  18. Fair enough, what group doesn't have messed up characters in it's ranks? I was overreacting perhaps, but still those guys rub me the wrong way. Something about their...tactics, as seen in Quest 12 and Quest 16, gives me the feeling that Ennon's destruction was not unprovoked. At least a lot of them appear to be a bunch of racists perfectly willing to massacre a village because of bloodline. Plus they messed with Cronk. Nobody messes with Cronk. Actually she follows the goddess of nature last I checked. Edit: For dark and light are a part of us all, would we know darkness without light? Or light without shadow? Can the mind of mortals imagine a world with neither dark nor light, or even a world where only one exists. Inside us all lurks good and evil, aggression and submission, deceit and honesty. Without the illumination of light, would one know how to manipulate? And without the rage of shadows, would one have the will to stand up for what is right? Neither light and shadow can survive by themselves. Only Gloaming is balanced, and through gloaming we are alive.
  19. The situation reminds me a little of Quest 4, where I briefly hijacked the plot because De'kra's memories got set back to zero. I had asked the QM if it would be okay first though, so that might have changed the event. Speaking of which, anyone else have the urge to slaughter everyone who follows Ennoc? Though I am glad that Ennoc's followers are not perfect, I get annoyed when all wielders of darkness are seen as evil and all masters of light are portrayed as good. Never forget Krika and Gavla!
  20. IC: De'kra walked away from the crowded regions of the hall, leaving behind the plague of Rome Ant Icism and Uland's corruption, if only for a moment. But even here De'kra could feel the weight of the war upon him,, it never creased. The shade struggled against his mistakes, each threatening to engulf him in an endless ocean. So many would die in the war in the north, and so many had died already because of his indifference, in the time before time. He was an utter failure, and so many lay dead because of him. But in that ocean of pain lay an island of refuge, maybe two. Somewhere deep in De'kra's memories something stirred. The six villages that haunted De'kra's dreams, he had forgotten something vital about them. The people there, they were amnesiacs, their entire memories lost thanks to a great evil. For a thousand years that evil exalted the villages with great power and enslaved beasts, trying to cripple them. But yet, these amnesiacs stayed strong, and kept fighting. They had only spears and disks made from plants, yet they fought gigantic tigers and a evil entity stronger than any Mage. And these villagers had no Ether or Heroica to aid them, they had to rely on their own power, That was where the quote came from, the one that had knocked De'kra out. From a warrior who had faced down gigantic beasts, with no knowledge of his past. A warrior who had lead his people to defy an evil, despite the dangers. Mistakes were made in the six villages during those 1000 years, Heoes were exiled over misunderstandings, and evil doers were trusted. But they never stopped fighting for freedom and for a better future. They never gave in to their pain, even after one thousand years of suffering and confusion. The least De'kra could do is not to give into depression. Sure he was a failure, but that didn't mean he should wallow in self hatred. If the villages could keep fighting, he could keep trying.
  21. IC: De'kra softly nodded and clicked, "It not so bad, it just brief...coma. I only see void for second. I death worse, I was in void and unable to escape. I see Them for second. But it only coma, so only brief look of void, not in void. By way other person and odd hat, good luck in Quest 17. Remember not to act like I, you chance of success should rise." The shade began to walk off towards the hall honoring the original Veterans, the six ancient champions of Heroica.
  22. To make a De'kra kill you; Give him Hero Factory quotes. Well no it doesn't work like that, but only because I don't care enough about Hero Factory to bother remembering their lines.
  23. OOC: I wasn't sure if he was totally off the ground yet. Something to note is that De'kra's realm of the dead is different than most planes of death, should some exist. IC: De'kra felt his body and commented, "It native tongue. It not translate well, one reason I still no speak you tongue well. I no think I die now, mind no scream in terror. Mind no scream in terror: I no die. Word to wise, no die even if necromancer nearby: death not fun. I recover soon enough, I usually feel better right away. I sorry to trouble you." The shade started off, his body twitching. The shade had a faint idea of what the ranger had said, but luckily he was a little more emotionally stable at the moment. The ranger probably just heard De'kra say it before Quest 4 began, though it doesn't explain why hearing his own words freaked De'kra out so much. Regardless that concern and this episode was being swept out of De'kra's mind, even as he remembered his failures and mistakes once more.
  24. IC: As De'kra lay knocked out, a strange chatter began to pour from his mouth. It was barely audible, but to those close by it might reach their ear. It was a quiet sound not unlike the clicking of insects, with hints of gears clanging. There was some pattern to the odd whispers, with repeating syllabals and common sounds. Gradually the whispering died down, and De'kra began to stir. As he slowly gained consciousness, De'kra noticed he was lying collapsed on the ground. His body felt...less stable and his head hurt as much as had when he woke up on the beach, the battle, and after the second incident with amnesia. Realizing this De'kra muttered, "I die again?"
  25. True, I have a couple theories about her purpose. Aside from the obvious that she is just in it for the chaos, I have another theory. What if she is still an active part of Heroica Hall, used perhaps as a way to test and improve heroes? Since she kept failing quests, perhaps the Veterans tried to find another way to utilize her talents. The Hall couldn't have been so naive as to not look into Quest 7, and as someone pointed out, if she can read the minds of the heroes she could stop their plans short. And since she seems about humbling the heroes, perhaps she is used to keep them from growing too proud.
