  1. IC: De'kra clicked, "I take ice bomb. Thank you for trade, though I worry group was overpay." As he clicks this De'kra dips his head in thanks to Tarn for the share.
  2. Why assume it is only those two options? Human are not a binary, Sandy could be a xe as well. And technically you can't be sure someone on the internet is human, Sandy could secretly a member of an alien are with seven reproductive groups. And those options are ignoring the possibility of computerized intelligence, do we have proof that Sandy is not a robot? Can we take anything for granted about anyone online? And more importantly, does it matter? Yes, Quest 17 was incredible. I won't want to the hypothetical quest to be too close to Quest 17's though, that way you can't just steal the Quest 17 heroe's ideas and plans. But I definitely would be interested in such a game, provided De'kra doesn't loose any of his gear.
  3. IC: Seeing no one else stepping forward, De'kra clicked, "Group found crystal-like creature that eat ore in tunnels. Group figures that crystal entity main cause of disapperance of ore, since they eat it. Tarn has one crystal entity's remains, since group saw no others. If there were more crystal creatures, they hid too well to find. Aside from cystal eater, group also encountered a group of bandits, but they now dead. Only other entity that endanger minerals was an furry human who had signs of mild madness. He attack us, and sadly slain before group could learn anything from he. Tarn better at explain than I though, so might what I say confuse, he will make it clearer."
  4. My thoughts on the current matter is mixed. I think that the war machines do deserve XP, but only if the player gives thorough detail on it's creation and principles. So you won't get XP for saying, "I make a catapult," but if you describe the process well and how it works, that should get some XP. I do think that the training might be a bit much, but I still think that the war machines make sense.
  5. What about roleplaying buying things? For instance, let us say your character goes to Anwyl Smokebeard to have their most treasured blade reforged and embedded with the power of a diamond. I can easily see someone writing a detailed post of Anwyl forging their character's ancesteral blade anew, as the hero thinks back to all the battle they shared with the sword, all the hardships they faced. Then there could be some defining theme of the character mentioned, like always moving forward or defending the defenseless, just as the blade is finished. Next the character test out their reforged blade, and make some comment about the blade being an extension of their arm or something equally cliche.
  6. IC: De'kra sighed with relief that this side adventure went well, as he was worried they would kill again. As he glanced at the metal disks De'kra clicked "Each member of group get one hundred gold each?"
  7. IC: De'kra had the gist of the conversation, and clicked, "Snake might exist telepathic, but Mask-Rogue could exist correct that Dak mind suffer. Dak might also exist trap in illusion, skill illusionist able to make someone believe their old life was dream. Look for inconsistencies in latter case."
  8. IC: De'kra half listened to the other rogues discuss the hissing, even as Ul-Mata crawled back to De'kra. The shade stroked the slug-like creature, before allowing it back into his clothing. That taken care of, De'kra moved on after the rest of the group, though he still hanged back.
  9. IC: De'kra nods in thanks and clicks, "I think only one not explore passage left, unless group find new passage here. I assume group explore last passage now, then inform employers what group found."
  10. Kind of, though I plan to do it in written form rather than spoken. That way I have less constraints with timing and lining up scenes and comments. Plus if I choose to do intermissions like in the old show, I won't need warnings to pause the movie at a certain time. But if I actually complete this idea for once, I might try to take the next step. Interestingly, while surfing the Tv Tropes I found a ton of good MST3K fan fictions. Of course the premise for those stories is for Mike/Joel and the bots to be forced to read terrible fan fictions. So it's basically a fan fiction within a fan faction. Fanception.
  11. I have been thinking of an idea for a story, and I thought I would run it by here. As some of you might now, I am a big fan of Bionicle, to the point of having dreams about it that connect into one story. But I am also a big fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000, (MST3K) a show whose premise is that a pair of mad scientists have shot a man into space to force him to watch terrible movies. To survive these horrors, the man riffs on the movies' flaws, in order to make the film more humorous and easier to swallow. (there are some parallels between my comments in the Heroica RPG and the test subject's survival stategy. Not that Heroica is hard to endure, I enjoy it a lot) This show lasted eleven years (10 on national television) before its final episode in 1999. Since then it has spawned a child project called RiffTrax, as well as numerous imitations. Knowing my love for Bionicle and my enjoyment of MST3K, I am considering creating a sort of fusion of the two.Of course this relies on if I can find a copy of MoL's script, and possibly the later movies as well. But first I have to ask if this seems like an interesting idea, or if it is just another one of my weird ideas that is unable to be merged with this reality?
  12. Now I have a ton of information/items, to the point that my gear alone is two lines, not counting pictures, stats, and so on. There isn't really a way for me to narrow it down to two lines. Is it okay if I hide that information in spoilers, that way all the data is there but it isn't as distracting?
  13. Why didn't you reward players like that in Quest 4? (cue quivering lip and puppy eyes) But seriously I am joking, Quest 17 is designed in a very different way from Quest 4, and XP rewards makes more sense with Quest 17. Although we could have gotten a Island Tour achievement or something, as we walked all over Uland.. Still joking here.
  14. Their current arrow weapon unleashes a rain of fifteen arrows aimed in the general direction of an army all at once. (as far as I can see) The arrow machine gun is more precise and only fires one arrow at a time, but it fires swiftly and automatically reloads. So in one round it could score multiple hits on a singular foe, while the other device seems to fire one hit on multiple foes. And since we know that the enemy leader is powerful, this could allow them to weaken him rapidly from a safe distance. correct.
  15. IC: De'kra glanced at the fallen miner and asked, "that force truly necessary? Either way, group search his body to see any identification or clues on him?"
  16. Okay, first line the fort with jet engines, they will totally knock over all the elven Taxis. You can power the jets with a ton of Bagdad batteries and Althior's Topaz. You can also bombard the elves with frozen turkeys if you run out of stones. In case they attack at night all of you should wear eyepatches, but resist the urge to make a giant lego ball of destruction. That event was faked, and it would take such a large chunk of the battlefield to make that it won't be worth it. You should also make that arrow machine gun. ...you know even I don't know if I am serious. The arrow machine gun is fesible though.
  17. Not sure, but however the adaptation is done I think the cast shouldn't be rendered too humanoid. They need to keep some of their simplistic Minifigure charm, and using live action actors for instance would diverge from that. Cartoon animation or a webcomic might work, but if it is a Lego web comic it would be kind of redundant. It also shouldn't be OOTS style because that is just unoriginal, but something similar in simplicity might work. I am not sure how it would look in manga/anime style, but I worry that the characters might still be too humanoid unless they are constantly chibi. However I am not sure how feel about the characters in chibi style, as it might conflict with some of Heroica's themes. Then again we are talking about Lego figures.
  18. IC: De'kra clutched his head as time spend up, the figures around him a blur. When time stopped, the group was getting ready to battle the breaded entity, who appeared to be outfit the group's blood. With a sigh De'kra grabbed his Prongcanis Dagger and readied to attack from the front row. As he stands to defend De'kra asked, "What Mask-Rogue say to him? I was distract"
  19. ...Yeah so my response got kind of weird, since I had just been watching Transformers. Then I got stuck on this "interesting" metaphor and had this weird comment about Agori, so I figured it would be best to spoil the whole thing. I actually considered removing the weird part of the post, before deciding that I spent too much time making it to destroy it. It doesn't say anything important anyway, just know that De'kra sees Tomas more like a mentor than anything and that while the scenerio is unlike, it could work under certain circumstances. However it is extremely unlikely as De'kra doesn'y have concept of close relationships beyond mentor/student, brothers in arms. So you can totally avoid clicking it. Seriously, don't do it.
  20. OOC: De'kra notices that talking is a free action. IC: De'kra's eyes widened, but chose not to comment on it. The emories of the group had changed, and only De'kra seemed to notice. This would be odd by itself, but there are other anomalies. Often in the middle of battle time will freeze, at least long enough for the group to have a discussion. The flow of time here is odd, there is something wrong with it. And De'kra couldn't help but wonder if his conflicting sets of memories are connected to this. De'kra needed to think about this carefully, before making a comment. Noticing a reply from Arthur, De'kra sighed and wrote.
  21. Yeah, and many of the letters sent between Tomas and De'kra would have to be cut, along with whenever Tomas gives him "the talk."
  22. And this is why the movie of Heroica would not be rated PG. ...Thanks a lot, now I can't stopping thinking about the MST3K treatment of Phantom Planet. Why did the dueling tool have to be called a combat rod? By the way, De'kra replied to Arthur's last message. Some of it is useless, but aspects of it has potential.
  23. OOC: As far as I know there is no rule that says we can't walk and talk at the same time. I do understand the concerns here and I will try not to slow the plot down. IC: De'kra wondered why the group was standing here in front of the tunnel, and hadn't just entered it yet.
