Heroica RPG - Quest #20: Missing Minerals!
Tanma replied to UsernameMDM's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: We didn't complain that much... IC: De'kra jumps back at the sight of the spider, though he calms when he notices that it has six legs. "Leader; what you suggest?" he asked, "If you have no attack plan ready, I guess I attack Spiderling A from back row. I able to kill it in one blow, so I not need risk close attack. I will use Prongcanis Dagger in attack." IC: De'kra paused as time rewound itself. Carefully he stated, "If barbarian think it best, new heroes and I enact that. I then attack Giant Spider of back row with Prongcanis Dagger." The shade was glad that this spider had eight legs though, half that number and it would have been horrifying. Though he had no clue as to why... -
Speaking of Wren, if she can hack into the network, why isn't she using it to talk to the heroes of quest 7 that aren't on her current quest? For that matter she can use it to mess with any hero she wants, like those spammers but with personal messages.
-
He's like De'kra in reverse. De'kra has terrible spoken grammar and lexicon, while his written language is perfectly understandable.

I will try to remember that. It's just easier with the villagers, they are color coded. Fire villagers are red and orange, and ice villagers are white; so it is easier to tell them apart. And all the types that are called "she" have at least one shade of blue. But if a person if a different color here, the odds are that they are a different species, like Orcs and humans. I am afraid I also would rather say this in person, as people might be looking at the letters before we get them. I would prefer this not be known, as the people of Eubric don't inspire that much trust.

Must...resist...urge...to...comment on...Althior's long flowing hair...or why...he needs...that goatee...

OOC: you okay Tomas, you seem sweaty... IC: De'kra caught the next letter with a twirl, and read the message; After a pause he replied; Alright, I can wait. I just want to know because when I was traveling to the Hall in order to join, I got confused between male and female a lot. Appearantly people here are much more hostile if you confuse male and female than if you confuse fire villager and ice villager. And those two types really don't get along. Ice villagers are usually cold, calm, and cautious, while fire villagers tend to be impulsive, quick to anger, and aggressive. Their personalities rarely mix. If you mean a young entity, then yes I know what a child is. I don't think I ever saw one though, as the villagers live for a while. The oldest one was over 100,000 years old, and he has a long time left. But new villagers are made often enough, though for the longest time no one knew how. They did find out eventually, and although it was surprising it wasn't as disturbing as half the stuff going on then. I forgot about those other things though. I would tell you now, but I don't know how safe this method of communication is, and I get the feeling that the people of this city won't like it. With that De'kra sent the message and moved on.

It appears that the rare Monkey Cheetah has apeared in quest 15. This incrediably unique creature is a feline who has taken to trees as others do land. While neither cheetah or monkey, it gets this mname because of the cheetah like speed it has in the canopy, and its keen primate like intellect. However it is much closer to an ocelot than either of them. Native to the lands of the Metasimians, these Monkey Cheetahs are often used as pets for the elite. Their main diet is made of lemur-rats, though Monkey Cheetahs in turn fear the shadows of the draco bats. Although not good for their diet, some Monkey Cheetahs will also eat fermented berries. Aside from that madness Monkey Cheetahs are quite intelligent, and have a complex language of tail-flicks and hisses. Monkey Cheetahs will frequently use simple tools as well, like simplistic boomerangs. As of yet their conservation status is unknown. Poor Tomas.

Thank goodness De'kra never eats and drinks anything in the hall. Still, best not anger her since he could be thus seen as loitering... By the way, one of the earliest rumors involved her son, will that ever pay off?

De'kra grabbed the next letter with a flex of his hand, and read; With a pause, De'kra answered; I never had one of those, this term parent escapes me. But I do remember people who did have something like that, though they were called elders. From what I recall, heroes who gave up their power, whether to save lives or to create new heroes, would become the teachers, leaders, and to a degree role models for the village. Their experience from being heroes would be used to keep the village safe and to protect their people. Of course villagers could be leaders too, and heroes had their own leaders, but elders were the most respected. I see. Could the plague be render void if this difference vanished? If it helps, this is the way my people did it. Basically in the race I speak of, there was a type for each element. You had fire villagers, ice villagers, plasma villagers, plant life villagers, gravity villagers, and so on. Each type had a specific job to do, like water villagers were fishermen and iron villagers made technology. Each type tended to live in certain places, like fiire villages lived near lava and other sources of heat, while air villagers lived in the tree tops. Each type had a special chractoristic, and sometimes a flaw to match. Fire villagers had some resistence to heat, while ice villagers could endure the cold. Air villagers were quite agile in the trees, but waddled on the ground. Stone villagers were stronger, but couldn't swim. Earth villagers could see in the dark, but were blinded by daylight, and so on. Some types have certain pronouns, like fire villagers are all called he, (or rather it is closest to he) while water villagers are all called she. (or its equal) Types tended to stay separated, and some groups dislike each oher. But when danger came, all difference was thrown aside for the greater good. That is what is wrong with Eubric, no unity. Now before you suggest it I already know I am not an earth villager, light doesn't blind me, it just makes me sad and angry. Like when a friend who purposely left you to die sees you and says, "Hi, how are things." It knows full well how things are! But I digress. Well if she replies to your message, you could suggest that Makuta contact me then. If she bothers to answer after all odds are that she isn't currently fighting. With that De'kra sent the message, and continued on.
-
And so it was that Arthur was revealed to be the reincarnation of the god of awesome, and all did bow before him.

IC: De'kra caught the next reply as it appeared, and read through it. As he followed after the group De'kra wrote, I apologize for this, but what is a grandfather? It appears to be based off the words grand, like great and possibly noble, and the word father. I also don't know the exact meaning of father, but based on what I have read from finished Quests father is a title given to a human usually possessing power who is usually male. So is a grandfather a term for a male emperor? Or have I misunderstood your tongue? Speaking of which, you have a lot of experience in this world, correct? Can you tell me the exact differences between males and females? I knew something like this system once, but your system doesn't seem to operate under the same rules. I assume you would just write to him with this messaging system. If you are at the hall his face and name should be on file. He is a mage last seen clade in white, blue, and gold, and this was his first quest. If you manage to talk with him, can you ask him why he hasn't responded to me? I am not so certain about you on the revenge point. It is definitely bad to be blinded by revenge and to be obsessed with killing someone, that is true. But there are people in this world that make this world worse, and if they died or were crippled the world might improve. Vengence might not be good to take, but justice should exist. And the more I see this Pit of a city, the less justice I see. I am afraid I haven't. At the moment I do not know if Cinna is in battle or not, so I can't send a possibly distracting letter to her. Those messages just sort of appear from nowhere, if you are in battle it could distract you in a key moment. B=If you see her in the hall, would you ask her to send a message? As De'kra clicked the words he continued on his way.

So it will be a boy then... Regardless the concept is amusing, and it might be interesting to see heroes abusing this. You can have a hero what knows a lot about ancient machinery talk to a hero who knows a lot of psychology, allowing the two of them to trade information and help each other complete quests. Pretty much what De'kra and Arthur had been doing, but on a larger scale. Speaking of which it looks like De'kra will have to wait till after the third wave of Quest 17 for a reply. Still, this will just mean that the reply is well thought out and not rushed.
-
De'kra jumped back as a message arrived beside him. Glancing at it in the shadows by the light of his eyes, he nodded as he read.
-
And so Guts had his revenge on Haldor, and the Heroes of Heroica learned a valuable lesson about identity theft.
-
Subtract De'kra from that if you haven't already, and probably the herald of the almighty chicken too.

Heroica RPG - Quest #20: Missing Minerals!

IC: De'kra quickly memorized the paths, knowing that more might be ahead. "New Heroes and I go straight?" he clicked softly, "New heroes and I have no need to change course now." -
I take your two gold and raise you five. To me at least a more plausible couple is a pair of heroes who were childhood friends and have known each other their whole life. That scenerio has the potential for a lot of shared experiences, good memories, and bonding through difficult times. I got to admit a part of me can't wait for the madness of De'kra waging war on the plague. Right now he will focus on guarding Cinna though, since he has no real leads to a cure and because no one has mentioned interest in Hybros yet.
-
De'kra believes that the love sickness in the hall is an actually plague. De'kra trusts Cinna because she guarded him when he lost his memories. De'kra doesn't want Cinna to get sick from the plague and go all loopy. Thus De'kra must defend her from the infected since he is immune. If Leo goes after Cinna, De'kra will defend, possibly with violence. De'kra however knows Arthur, and although he quested with Leo they never really talked. De'kra is less willing to beat up Arthur since they talked a bit, so there is a chance that Arthur will be able to explain De'kra's confusion before violence occurs. Trouble is he already knows Arthur is interested in Cinna, so he is wary. Does this help? Still, you never went on a quest till after you linked up and I don't think you planned it out too thoroughly. It just felt sudden.
-
Then like a unicorn De'kra's blade shall descend upon the hunters and skewer them. ...There aren't that many mythical creatures that I can think of off hand that connect to that sort of thing okay. On the matter of Leo, I mean no disrespect towards him. I just don't get him, like how I don't get Haldor. You see Jess like once and you write a letter of love? It seems...rushed. Go on a quest together first or something. Of course thus far that is working well for him, so maybe Leo has the right idea.
-
For Leo's sake let us hope it is not Cinna. De'kra doesn't want her to be infected with the love plague, and if he thinks beating up Leo will stop her from getting the infection, he will beat up Leo. Depending on Arthur's response to De'kra's last message, violence might be a viable mthod for Arthur too. Originally that option was completely viable, but after their talks De'kra isn't as happy about smacking him upside the head. Of course De'kra has a horrible record with die so odds are he won;t hurt much, but when he gets lucky...
-
Agreed, it won't be long now till he is burning her name in a street or trying to kill a house leader "for" her. And although he hasn't done that yet, when we factor in Quest 6, Quest 15, and maybe Quest 13, along with certain individuals; it looks as though Herpica Hall is just as bad as Eubric. Perhaps there should be a group of Heroes to police their brethren, to keep them on the Good part of the alignment pool. But who watches the heroes....
-
I believe you mean Quest 17? Either way, what Arthur said was beautiful and I won't let you destroy it! ...I am joking of course. But I am sure this horse thing is very important to the battles ahead and character development, so if we all wait I am sure it will make sense. Of course the first time I watched the Giant Spider Invasion I thought the random discussion about talking to plants was a plot point. Edit: By Lewa's tendency to get brainwashed! Rogue-Prime has appeared!
-
...what? Wha-why? Why would you write that? On the matter of Quest 18, what has Nur been drinking? He's been having mead hasn't he. We saw all too well the affects of mead, back in Leo and Alisha's battle. Remember kids, you don't need mead.
-
Well since De'kra is very interested in the Ji Pei, this will hurt his association with Hybros. Although the fact that Hybrod isn't the one putting a knife to her thoat will help him. But I can do that intro thing with any quest. And so it was that the eight heroes stood before the army of elves, their small ally force hanging back. Though their minds quivered with doubts, these heroes held firm. For despite their wounds and their misgivings about the war, they would not, could not, surrender. They knew that it was neither elf nor knight that began this fight, and that both parties were pawns in the games of the Shadeaux. But yet they had to press on and fight this fight. For by hero's hand began this war, and by hero's hand it shall end. Those hands may be bruised and filled with splinters, but they can still wield a mighty blade. Some in this world believe that there were no heroes in this world, others believed that heroes are insignificant. What could they do against an army? But there are heroes left in this world, few they are. And sometimes, a few is all you need to make a difference...

And so the heroes of Quest 15 grew tired of the bright sun, and decided to relax in the the dark side of the hall. There were some people in their way, bystanders and family, but they could shove them aside in order to get in that shade. The heroes could always apologize later, and wasn't it more important to get in the cooler shadows than the method they used? This way would save time, several seconds if fact. Sure that might seem short, but the sun was quite warm today. Besides, it's not like those people were as important as heroes, or in as much of a hurry. And they had to be insane to just stand there and not get out of the way of heroes...
