Mumakil set with Witch King battle for $150 would be AMAZING. But I would gladly take dioramas. One with Eowyn, witch king, and theoden and the other depicting the set with Legolas taking down the Mumakil. Throw in Sam, Frodo, Faramir to finally give us boromir's brother and I would be SOLD.

I feel like all the forum regulars who got Rivendell and Barad Dur at launch got this as well haha. But our number is definitely dwindling, this forum was crazy hot when Rivendell came out, same with Barad Dur. Didn't go to the Lego store this launch but I remember how crazy the lines were for the first two icons sets))))

Have pretty much pushed this set back to be bought later in the year. The GWP is awful and I want to snag a few PoTC sets before they fly up in value in September(((

How much are you looking to get for the QAR...

Overall apart from interior and lame sidebuilds the set is solid. But I saw a picture of it next to Rivendell and barad dur.... The price is the killer. This set just isn't worth more than HALF of rivendell.... the original sets hold a special place in my heart, I watched Lego reviews of them for hours to keep improving my english, which means there is no way I'm missing out on more Lego LOTR... even if overpriced. Let's hope the Balrog set is fantastic. What worries is me is that the Balrog set belongs to its own subtheme. Maybe LoTR is done as an icons theme? I hope not. I want the white city next year.

Boat design is laughable, tree is ugly, and the figures are a poor excuse apart from the faceprints. wow. Set is already disappointing, even with the GWP paying $270 will be difficult. Picked up most of the dwarves for not too much recently though so I'm happy I at least have them to make this poor bag end look a little better)))

Incredibly happy for @BrickPerfection His model is absolutely gorgeous. Up there with the imperial flagship and recent barracuda. Only set I voted this round, and have been voting for it for over a year now! Very, very happy about it winning! Can't wait to order it and build it!!

Misspoke I apologize. I always forget it's Thorin and 12 dwarves, not just 12 dwarves Completely disagree. They don't all need new molds. Get rid of the other side builds. I understand that. They don't all need new moulds in my opinion. It could be done, I would rather have that than random side characters and poor tree designs.

A bit confused by your comment. What do you mean leave one out? Are you referring to Gimli? And yes a Bag End based on the Hobbit would have been better. None of the poor side parts and 12 fantastic figures. Easy buy right there.

I have been saying I would buy any LoTR set Lego puts out after the reboot. But this set is underwhelming for $270.... If the interior isn't gorgeous I might push this set back for awhile personally. Some may disagree but having 12 dwarves would have been 1000% cooler

Oh I agree. The only Lego set I would ever spend $1000 would be a UCS recreation of the maelstrom from PoTC with the Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman. Dream set right there. Otherwise I agree. Lego should never be that expensive but that's the world we live in(((

Agreed. I think both knocked it out of the park. For their price they had no other way haha. I wonder if the second ever $1000 set will be the white city....

With the figures not likely being based on the Hobbit has made the wait not difficult at all. More excited for the build than anything. And we're already a month and a half into 2025!!!

Agreed. I am pretty sure Barbossa is at the helm more often than Jack. I don't see him being put in a GWP, that would be a horrendous choice and he already has a design from fortnite. I also thought, what if they have a PoTC book/film nook like for LoTR and HP? I know PoTC doesn't have any books anywhere near the level of the other two but Barbossa HAS to appear somewhere. He is one of the few characters to be in every single film and he is a major pillar of the franchise. So the current options are 1. Figure list is incomplete 2. GWP (incredibly poor decision making) 3. Play scale sets? Highly doubt it but maybe? Maybe a film nook of Isla de la Muerta? 4. He's in another ship set which wouldn't make any sense. 5. He isn't being made. Beyond stupid. Like you mentioned he doesn't fit the Duthcman (never steps foot on it), in OST he is working for the british and never steps foot on the QAR on screen (would be stupid if he only get this version). And that's only IF we get a QAR. That would mean we get lucky enough to get a flying dutchman which is my most wanted set of the past decade. This also makes me worried about getting a pintel and ragetti. If we aren't getting Barbossa we ain't getting them. Either way something is off. Sorry for the ramble, but I am very excited to say the least.

I want to believe that a Dutchman is next. What makes me wonder, where are we getting Barbossa and his gang? Maybe the leak doesn't cover everyone? Seems really odd since I doubt we are getting playscale sets. Was anyone else mentioned? Seems slightly odd...
