  1. Sony has released their first Spider-Man Brand New Day teaser. Not gonna post it here, but it looks like they have confirmed that
  2. I gotta disagree with this. Doomsday will be lucky to get six sets. Heck, with the way they’ve been cutting back on movie sets, I’d wouldn’t be surprised if it got four or less. There’s a lot of material to cover between the Avengers, New Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Dr Doom, and who knows what else. No way they’re gonna cover everything, or even the most important stuff. Plus, putting all their eggs in the Doomsday basket is risky. Sure, the Avengers movies did well, but a lot of that success came down to how much people loved Iron Man and the other OG Avengers. The new team isn’t much of a box office draw outside of Spider-Man. It’d make more sense to make a couple of X-Men ‘97 sets to cover things the Doomsday sets won’t. Plus, there’s plenty of characters that are covered by the show that aren’t likely to be in Doomsday. As far as the Blackbird and Sentinels are concerned, we have no idea if they’re even going to appear in Doomsday, and if they are, if they’re going to be important enough to include in sets.
  3. OMG, ROBIN IN A SET THATS NOT $300?!?! LEGO DC IS BACK!!!!
  4. I wonder if this is just that project he’s already confirmed that’s not a sequel but also is or if this is another project altogether that is Superman 2. Either way, I look forward to the $100 Batman and Robin Batmobile we will get to coincide with this film’s release.
  5. We couldn’t even get a set for Superman. No way we’re getting a set for Supergirl. Best case scenario, that Daily Planet rumor winds up being true and she comes in that. I doubt Clayface is happening either, tbh, not with him getting an R-rated movie next year. Hal Jordan will appear… in a Zoom meeting on the Bat-Computer.
  6. A Batman and Robin Batmobile with just Batman and no Robin would be hilarious. In all seriousness though, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a remake of the 2006/2012 waves with a Batmobile vs Two Face, Batwing vs Joker, Batcycle vs Catwoman, and Batcave vs two random villains with a common theme uniting them.
  7. I think most likely case scenario, if we do get more X-Men ‘97 sets next year, is something along the lines of: Sentinel ($50) Brickbuilt Sentinel similar (but slightly different) to the one in the X-Mansion. Includes Wolverine, Gambit, Nightcrawler, and Jubilee. X-Jet ($120) A remake of the X-Jet set from a few years ago with a slightly bigger and more detailed Blackbird (think the recent Quinjets we’ve gotten). Includes Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Havok, Polaris, and a new villain (either Mister Sinister or Apocalypse).
  8. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve gotten a minifigure scaled Burton Batmobile, so we’re definitely due.
  9. New Lego Marvel Disney+ special has a poster in the usual places. Lots of new characters, probably none of which we’ll get as minifigures. Exabricks also posted a close up of the Howard the Duck on his instagram story. I’d be surprised if that ended up being a hint at the character appearing physically next year, but I certainly wouldn’t complain. Also, I’m surprised we still haven’t gotten part 2 of that set list yet. It’s been well over a week.
  10. It would be hilarious if the theme ended up dying with the release of a Lego Batman video game.
  11. He’s the BIG BOSS™️of all the bad guys in Lego lore. Dr Inferno, Brick Daddy, Ogel, etc all answer to him. He runs his operation out of the basement of the nefarious Luigi’s pizzeria. No one dares cross him because he’s not just the Joker, but he’s also a brick headz which means he’s Joker but bigger. Turtle was the only one brave enough to expose him and now he’s disappeared. Truly terrifying stuff.
  12. Interesting https://www.instagram.com/p/DMsikTnz6mN/?igsh=dWVyZDEycnQ1M2N3
  13. Exabricks has a Lego built Baxter building on his instagram story. Doesn’t look like it’s a modular scale. Looks microscaled. I wonder if that could be the $120 18+ set for January. Or it could be a tease for next year’s modular. Doubt it’s just a Fantastic Four tease, seems specific to the Baxter Building.
  14. Ironically enough, this is how I was introduced to the character. Lego is the reason I know about the character. Lego is the reason I want the character. And now, Lego is the reason I can’t have the character.
  15. The strangest thing is it seems to have infected the Disney theme too. Three CMFs and multiple sets later and we haven’t seen a trace of their Mad Hatter either. Is it just because Lego doesn’t seem him as a priority over other characters, or is there something darker at play here?
  16. I finally thought of one example - ⚡️Electro⚡️. Both his first appearance based on Ultimate Spider-Man and a ⚡️Electro⚡️ polybag based on TASM2 both came out in 2014. So Nightcrawler would be in good company if he gets both an ‘97 and Doomsday minifigure next year.
  17. Have we ever gotten both comic and movie versions of a character debuting in the same year? Not saying it’s impossible, btw, just wondering if there’s any precedence for it. Probably not. It seems like it’s just a marketing gimmick.
  18. They put a prostitute in the film over him.
  19. For most of those characters, or at least the ones I’m familiar with, it’s a one time thing and doesn’t define the character the same way it does Mad Hatter. They all have plenty of stories where they’re not predators. Meanwhile, even when he’s not robbing the cradle, Jervis is typically shown brainwashing young adult women into being with him romantically. So even at his best, he still belongs on a registry. And I think that more than anything is why we aren’t likely to see him. If the modular building line continues for DC and we sets like GCPD, Wayne Tower, Wayne Manor, Iceburg Lounge, or anything Batman related, I could see Mad Hatter, Victor Zsasz, and Professor Pyg being snuck into those the same way Daredevil and Punisher were able to be made by sneaking them into the Daily Bugle.
  20. Oh, no, I’m not saying that only popular characters make it into sets (although that certainly helps) or even that Lego will never put a less popular character in a set over a more popular one. I’m just saying that Nightcrawler is a popular character who was bound to appear eventually (especially with major roles in two projects next year).
  21. Doubt it. Characters appearing in R-rated properties tends to hurt, rather than help, their case. And with Clayface in particular, the only other projects he’s been in recently have been Harley Quinn TAS and Creature Commandos, so it’s not even a case like Joker where, yeah he’s been in mature media, but there’s plenty of other child friendly things. Probably not. Most Easter Eggs in these modular sets have led nowhere. Nightcrawler appearing as an Easter egg in the X-Mansion and now potentially as a minifigure somewhere else just comes down to the character not making the cut for the mansion but being popular enough to appear later (being both promoted to a main character in X-Men ‘97 and appearing in an Avengers movie no doubt helps).
  22. Exabricks just shared a picture of Nightcrawler on his instagram. Looks to be from a Legoized version of Giant Sized X-Men 1, but could be a hint at the character coming next year.
  23. I assume you are talking about Rises, but it would be absolutely hysterical if after skipping over a family friendly movie like Superman Lego decided to make a whole wave of sets devoted to The Dark Knight Returns.
  24. Sure, in the case of Doomsday, it may have been spoiler related (personally, I think Lego just didn’t want to spend the money to make a new bigfig mold). And prioritizing Black Manta over Ocean Master, who was the main villain, is still an odd choice IMO. But Gamora and the High Evolutionary seem to have just been skipped for budget reasons. And, of course, those aren’t the only four examples of Lego skipping main characters. You’ve got Zemo in Civil War. Ego in GotG vol 2. Wong in the first Dr Strange set. You’ve got Scarlet Witch in Infinity War (also Drax and Mantis, but I wouldn’t consider them as playing as essential a role as Wanda did). Silver Surfer in the Fantastic Four. Etc. Which leads into my main point… Lego has shown they’re completely willing to skip over major characters for budgetary reasons, lack of room, or even completely unknown reasons. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think they’d skip over two dark and violent characters who they’re already carefully when putting in a set or just outright avoid altogether, just because now they’re in a PG-13 project. I really doubt Lego wants to deal with the backlash (they’ve canned sets in the past for much less).
