Doesn’t seem to be an elavator in this modular. -

I also really want to see how this thing connects to other modulars, because right now it’s not obvious. I wonder if that Clayface on the monitor was a minifigure design that went unused, like a not small number of teases in the X-Men Mansion. -

Just to add to this, there’s a Dark Knight Returns reference in the magazine on the security guard’s desk. I’ve also got to say, including an office for Harleen Quinzel but not actually including her, per se, is hilarious. -

SDCC starts tomorrow and goes through Sunday. It could be anywhere in that time period, but if I had to guess, I’d say either Thursday or Friday. -

2012 is still my favorite, of the ones so far released, mostly because I prefer the all gray color scheme to the brown and gray. But 2025 might take the cake despite that just because it’s a fully enclosed building. 2006 Arkham is definitely a product of its time, but it’s gotta a creepy vibe to it that I really like. The 2017 one just feels like if Friends did a ski cabin that just happens to be a prison. Penguin too. I really like that new white fur piece they have on him. And it’d be nice if that new Ivy wasn’t forever locked behind a $300 pay wall. -

Probably an unpopular opinion, but TLBM Arkham is the only bad Arkham we’ve gotten. -

They skipped High Evolutionary and Gamora in the GotG 3 wave. In the one Aquaman movie set, they skipped Ocean Master. There was no Doomsday in the BvS wave. Lego has zero problems skipping characters, even when there’s no apparent reason why they would. -

I’m skeptical that MCU Punisher or Daredevil would even make it into sets even if they were in a TV-14/PG-13 project. Both are so closely associated with the R/TV-MA ratings at this point, I think it’d be a hard sell with parents. Which is probably why we’re yet to see either outside of the Daily Bugle. And since he always seems to enter into these discussion, I wouldn’t be surprised if Lego had a giant no-Deadpool poster hanging in their office, because he’s not showing up again anytime soon given his reputation. -

I wouldn’t put too much stock in a Daily Planet set at this point. And even if it does happen, there’s no guarantee it’d be modular. It could be more of a small facade set like Oscorp. With that said though, something along the lines of Superman (reuse, with red trunk legs), Supergirl (new torso, legs), Mr Terrific (new head, torso), Guy Gardner (new torso), Hawkgirl (new torso, legs), Lex Luthor (reuse), Brainiac (new head, torso), Lobo (new head, torso), Bizarro (new head, torso), Lois Lane (purist), Clark Kent (new head), Jimmy Olsen (purist), Cat Grant (purist), Steve Lombard (purist, Ron Troupe (purist), and Perry White (purist) would cover plenty of Superman (movie and comic) characters and put us at 15 with less new prints than Arkham or the X-Mansion without needing Batman and his villains. -

There appears to be some medium nougat round plates laying on the ground where the gate is busted open. Clayface reference? -

I just realized something. Last year we talked non-stop about the Aslume. Even turned the forum into the Aslume. Now, we are getting an Arkham set. This year, we’ve talked non-stop about Superman and how much to sucked we aren’t getting sets. Now, we have a rumored Superman set. Somehow, someway we have gained the ability to manifest sets. Next year, I expect y’all to be spamming this thread about a Flash museum, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet. I think it’s partly speculation based on the sticker in Arkham, but it also seems like there’s more to it than just that. -

LEGO DC IS BACK!!! Set looks great. Green skinned Ivy, at long last, and she looks great. Building itself looks good. I think another floor would have made it feel a bit more imposing, but otherwise great. Connection points are… not what I expected. There only appears to be one. Unless there’s one on the backside and it’s not meant as an inverted corner. But then theres no sidewalk in front or around it. It’ll be interesting to see how this connects to other sets. Since we got a leak this early, I’m betting a SDCC reveal is very likely. Bane and Killer Croc are also standouts with that oversized barbell and backpack for Bane and the 2008 esque face on Croc. Scarecrow really needed a hat or hood. -

Both look great, although I am disappointed Catwoman’s mask mold didn’t make a return. Only thing holding either of these figure back, from what I can tell. Comic Con reveal would make a lot of sense. LEGO DC IS BACK… to giving us all whiplash. This theme dies and resurrects more than Jean Gray. If we do get the Daily Planet, regardless of whether it’s D2C or Oscorp styled, I expect Lex and Superman will be recycled and Supergirl will be included. Jimmy, Lois, and Clark are also probably safe bets as purist figures. Some new villains like Bizarro or returning villains like Zod, Brainaic, or Lobo would also be great. But I consider just getting a Daily Planet set a W. -

The Punisher minifigure is based on the comics, not on the TV-MA shows. Echo was originally TV-14, but was changed to TV-MA after the series was already in production. There’s definitely a hard line for R-rated and TV-MA movies and shows. Echo is the only exception and it’s only because Marvel changed the rating on Lego. -

It’s probably on the lower end of that. The break even points I’ve seen estimated range from $530 - $750 mil. Films tend to make 50% of box office earnings domestically, 40% internationally, and 25% in China (opening weekend for domestic, at least, is also usually higher). Domestic numbers are strong while China is basically non-existent in terms of box office, meaning the studio is making a higher percentage off of the box office than usual. A 2.5x multiplier of the budget is typically standard, but in this case it’s probably much closer to 2x. So the actual number is probably closer to $600 mil. Most CBMs tend to make roughly 3x their opening weekend, depending on how strong their legs are and extenuating circumstances. Superman has had strong legs so far and will probably make around $600M. And that’s not taking into account merchandising deals (this film definitely seems to be moving Superman merch) and profits from physical copies, digital copies, and streaming services. In short, this film is probably fine in terms of profit. -

Nothing in January for sure. Supposedly there could be 4 in summer, but they could also be Doomsday sets. But it’s Lego DC, so expect the worst and you’ll only be disappointed a little. https://tenor.com/68oA.gif -

I think the lack of sets for next year has more to do with Lego prioritizing Doomsday over everything else. There’s something like 60 named characters that we know are going to be in there. That’s a lot of minifigures. We certainly won’t be getting all of them. But, even if we get 20, that’s a lot of the budget for superheroes. Cuts need to be made somewhere. Makes sense they’re made to DC. Also, as for 2026 content, we’re talking about Supergirl and Green Lantern. They’re certainly not nobodies, but they’re also not characters I’d expect sets for (especially when Superman can’t get more than a comic tie in). -

DC’s last six films all bombed at the box office. Marvel is releasing a sequel to the highest grossing film ever next year. As much as it sucks, it’s not hard to understand why DC is getting shafted next year. -

That’d make a lot of sense. Hopefully another Endgame Final battle. Haven’t seen one of those in a while.
