  1. QM Note: I'm sorry that updates have been sporadic lately! It's been complication after complication as of late for the moving process... But now, a significant update! Punii is scooped up by Karie as Jeaux drops a smoke bomb, the grey smoke clashing with the Monolith's own veil of crimson smoke as it stomps into the room. The party gains a quick glimpse of the monstrosity as they flee the scene. "Well, it looks like the marionette and the sapling brought their friends along! Unfortunately, people who intrude in The Regret's factory have very short futures." The party sprints through the emergency doorway, and close the door behind them with a desperate slam. "So that's a Monolith?!" The heroes, still hearing the heavy steps of the iron giant behind them, elect to flee across the hall instead down it, finding themselves in a disposal room. Once again they slam the door shut and lock it, a conveyor stands static at the side of the room, leading towards a furnace possibly dropping all the way down to the first floor crematorium. Masson runs over to a desk in the room's corner and rifles through the documents, finding a paper with today's date. On the other end of the room was another door, this one with no discernable way of opening it... "Take those parts off the be-" The distinct sound of crashing and drilling can be heard near by. "Dammit, I think he might be drilling his way into here... Listen to this! "Heartbreaker Lance: Monolith Mk II determined emotionally stable. In order to not cause any emotional turmoil and possibly undo his loyalty training, it has been slated for destruction." Those parts on the belt are part of the weapon we need to kill it!" The party takes the parts off the blet and spreads them out... Blade Components Hilt Components Building The Heartbreaker -The Heatbreaker has been divided into two components: Blade and Hilt. -Using a description, physcial brick, LDD, drawing, etc., you must describe how to assemble the parts into their specified role. -For parts that can be attached in multiple orientations/angles, as long as they are attached to the correct part/stud, any orientation or angle will be accepted. -The red brick in the "blade" parts has studs on all four sides. -After every failed attempt, Punii andor Masson will observe the attempted solution and provide insight on how to build it correctly. -If both parts are not assembled after 10 attempts, Monolith Mk II will bust its way into the room, and confrontation will be inevitable.
  2. Vindsval was incapable of seeing the objects that feell - na dindeed, so was Salt - the odd objects apparently invisible, as if it bleached out of existence. As he wipes his hands across the odd substances that cast the shadows and fell from the ceiling, they felt disturbingly... Organic.
  3. After many moons of absence, I walk back into the hall, a cane in one hand. It clacks along as I walk to my typical post, step by step - my stature was still tall and dignified, but the presence of the walking stick told the true story. My hood still removed and my other arm bandaged and medicated, I sit down. "Take bed rest for a few months and everything changes..." I audibly note.
  4. Beneath the grate is an expanse of murky, gurgling water, with a ladder leading down into the soggy pit. It seemed like it extended all the way back, with the only way too truly see what was down there was to climb in and explore the basement grotto. Noticing that candles on the ceiling were the only thing that could be casting the shadows, Asphalt holds his weapon up towards the ceiling and scrapes it around, coming into contact with several objects. They fall down with a disgusting squelch, as if moist... What would the party do?
  5. "Not at all." I attack the Spearman from the front row.
  6. I think a lot of the bombs are inexpensive: for example, Blind Bomb + Sleep Bomb = 3 free turns against pretty much anything, for 30 gold. I'm worried that this is going to cause a lot more "Immune to Blindness and Sealing" as a result, which is no fun...
  7. QM Note: They're arranged in no particular order, really. Mortimer fires an arrow into the Oculoid Drone, not even mortal injury stopping the Oculoid's alert. It seems to have drawn the attention of some of its brethren, multiple red rings now fixated on the party. "Intruder! Intruder! Intruder!" The footsteps were getting closer!
  8. As Boomingham stares the Oc uloid down, the demon's eye fixates on the Paladin for a second, before it recoils back... As if it had just been released from a hex of sorts. It stares down the heroes with a newfound calculating glare, life and awareness flooding back into the Oculoid. With the stupor broken, its sluggish speech melts away, causing it to call out a far more dire message. "Intruders! Intruders! Identification: Lawrence Boomingham, Karie Alderflask-Cour, Jeaux Emfyre, Mortimer Mahzan, Erdathcath Madilinas, Johon, Punii, Masson Cour, and Alice Incor! Affiliation: Heroes of Heroica! Threat: Citadel's most wanted, positions 1 through 9! Alerting Monolith Mk II! Alerting Monolith Mk II!" Despite the Oculoid regaining its sentience, it seemed to be far more robotic, even still, than its bretrhen. Was this oculoid just a surveillance drone...? "Boomingham, what did you *wheeze* do to set it off...?" The sound of heavy mechniacal stomping can be heard approaching at an alarming state. "If that's really a Monolith coming, we need to get out of *cough* here, now! We don't have the *wheeze* means to fight him yet... And I don't even know if we have the means to even flee him fast enough, not without some sort of distraction or diversion..."
  9. QM Note: Back to our regularly scheulded Citadel scaling! The Monolith-braned Oculoid speaks for the first time, it's voice slow and sluggish. The usually arrogant tone of the Oculoids merely sounded hoarse and drowsy here, as if it was struggling to choke out each word. Something was wrong with this Oculoid.. But for what reason, and why here, in the very core of Oculoid production...? "Who... Are... You..." The oculoid was practically a zombie, and yet, somehow, its lifeless gaze had only one spark of sentinece: an expectant look towards the party, as if he was waiting for something to happen between them...?
  10. QM Note: Home officially sold, seleaed the deal on rented house... Busy busy busy 36 hours. I hope you'll forgive me for these constant delays, the transition has been rougher than I had been anticipating. There are not many things I usually put Heroica on the backburner for, but this has to be one of them... Vindsval pockets the salt, before reading the demented writing on the wall. It was in the all too familiar demented scrawl of the leech room, apparently by the same author. The writing on the wall read: The shadows appear to be odd, globular shapes, like someone spilled ink on the floor. And yet, none of the gnarled woodwork could possibly produce such a shape, the flikcering candlelight casting the shadow of some sort of object that doesn't seem to exist, or at least able to be percieved. How can that be...?
  11. It is rather scary, and a well crafted battle ( to CMP), but I suspect you'll be fine.
  12. Lynne stands in the harsh, desolate settlement, brushing her jet black hair out of her white face. "North sounds good to me as well, although I have to question something: how would they get a boast from a the mountains? Is there a steep drop at the end of this wilderness, or a gradual decline..? Eithe rway, North is the shorter way to follow the footsteps."
  13. The party walks through the door, stepping over the billowing smoke and hissing remains of the statues. They pass into a similarly cramped room, odd shadows being cast over them with seemingly no source. In front of them was a steel grate, slightly ajar, much similar to the one they found in the old foyer. A locked door is to their left, while there is more childish scrawl written on the wall. A table is hastily pushed up against the corner of the room. The edges of the table were old and gnarled, the quiet thumping of deathwatch beetles audible from within it. A plate of rotten meat is on the table, long since abandoned. Also on the table is some salt and cutlery. What will the party do?
  14. "The, the warmachine Jeaux, Erdathcath, and *wheeze* me, encountered. When we split up. I think The Woun d mentioned it, how we need to find a weapon in here to beat him. As far as we know, he's... His heart is protected by a ribcage, and the ribcage seems to be unbreakable. Without that *cough* weapon, I... Don't know if we could handle him..."
  15. Johon soon realizes his attempts are in vain when the ceiling is without any sort of holes, besides several tiny pores for ventilation. Although the Lifespark was not too far above them, they couldn't reach it from this room alone... Punii responds to Jeaux's plan. "That would *wheeze* work! Alright, I'll set up the bombs..." Punii succries over to the pillar and plants the two devasting bombs onto the weakest pillar he can find, haphazardly attaching them to the pillar's base and midsection. He motions the party to back away, stretching out the fuse as long as he can. "Shoot the *wheeze* fuse, Jeaux, and we'll sucrry. This way, we'll have range and the long fuse benefit..." Jeaux obeys, an expert handcannon shot ingiting the fuse, the party hurries away from the blast, Punii shouting out one last instruction as they clop up the steps to the ledge they were standing on: "Be *cough* sure to cover your ears-!!" The party does so just in time, the combination fo bombs blasting the pillar to smithereens. With the collosal weight of the ink passing through, the pipleine collapses to the side, black plasm spilling out with a horrible sloshing sound. That noise was soon cloaked by the defeaning crash of the conduit collapsing, hitting another pipleine and damging it, as well. One conduit destroyed, and the other clogged, the emrgecny door hisses and upons. "It worked... But we've been... *wheeze* spotted..." One Oculoid hovers near the party, dripping ink from the carnage. "It's an Oculoid, but... It looks... Mindless, I suppose, you could call it." Indeed, the spark of sentience in the oculoid's eye was dim, and its red iris glassy, the Oculoid simply staring ahead placidly. It did not move aggresivle,y simply bobbing up in down in place, lookingat the heroes but not truly seeing them." ". . . . . . . . . ." "isn't that Monolith Mk II's eye, or... At least *cough* how it looked?"
  16. "A longer fuse is *wheeze* about the extent I could do... We'd be able to make some headway, but not a lot..."
  17. Although Karie could see nothing, she had an uncanny feeling there was a tleast something else in this vast room with them. It ha not laid eyes on them yet, but... Who knows when it would...?
  18. The party walks down the stairs and steps beneath the shadow of the network of inky conduits, overflowing drops of ink sloshing out of their tubs and seeping into the floor. The party finds themselves winding around a pratical labryinth of pillars and spports, a rhythmic mechanical clang heard above them. Just above them was the source of the oculoid menace... And only a little bit higher, the origin of all "life" in this accursed citadel, the Lifespark. "I *wheeze* found a pillar we could blast, but it's going to take 175 damage from bombs to blast down a pillar. I can rig smoke bombs to do 10 damage, and other nondamging bombs would do 25 damage a piece. ...Do we have the firepower for this?"
  19. Round Four >Vindsval VS Distraught Statue (back) Shield: Miracle! (All heroes restored to full health) >Salt VS Distraught Statue (back): Critical Hit (1 durability removed) ------------------------------- Round Five >Vindsval VS Distraught Statue (back): Hit (1 durability removed) Vindsval and Salt-Upon-Wounds bludgeon the remaining statue to death, a putrid smoke emitting from its mechanical innards as it was slain. "i just WanT what's MINE... WhY... what did I dO, doC?" Was the statue regressing...? "WhaT diD I do wroNG doC? What diD I dO wrOng??" With that, the statue collapses, destroyed. The Battle is Victrious. All Heroes gain one level. Distribute the loot: Potion x2 Restores 10 health to the target. Remedy x2 Removes all negative effects from the target. Smoke Bomb Allows the party to escape a battle. Fire BombCauses 5 points of fire-elemental damage to all enemies. Would the party forge through that door?
  20. "I mean, we can *wheeze* go down and try, although I imagine we'd have to plant it somehwere rather specific..."
  21. "It's built well to stand up against the elements - I'm surprised something this tall can stand upright, really. then again, he had to invent a time portal in case his minions screwed up the building process to go back and revert it, so who knows how well built this place really is... But, yeah, the lack of a full elevator up to the top is weird. For a bunch of teleporters, though, I guess its more liability than anything else?"
  22. A trail of crimson blood pours from the wound. "Did you guys really think I was one of... them?"
  23. Alice silently offers her palms. "I... betrayed you once. But I'm not one of them! I did not emerge from these pipelines!"
  24. Alice shrinks back, looking confused. "H-huh..? What... But you need Oculoid blood for it, I thought Cour said?"
  25. Masson shakes his head. "No... It's blood based, not code based, and I think The Bleeding drained me of all the plasm in the system. Thank god he did, but it would've beena little useful right now. Looks like we're going to have to open it another way..."
