At this point I would think it's best to refer to Sandy, but in my opinion it would be best if we didn't restrict what counts as an "effect" to the list in the rules page. For example, I would still very much consider camaraderie a positive effect - some with aura, as you guys probably have guessed.

I would consider Phalanx an effect as well. I don't see any reason why the definition of effect shouldn't be something that influences the hero's statistics?

My reasoning is that any modifier to a Hero's statistics not in their equipped items would be an effect, which I further reasoned that since it was the one and only result of their shield, it should be positive. Plus, unlike Guardian Angel, is is almost always noted on the hero's stats themselves.

The All Consuming Flame: The Regret unleashes hellfire on the hero who rolled Special Damage, reducing them 1 HP, 1 Ether, cutting their SP in half for the rest of the battle, and removes all of their positive effects. Specials decided randomly. Passive Specials: Adaption: All negative effects, Poison and Bleeding excluded, last for only 3 rounds against The Regret. After they expire, they are added to his list of immunities. Hyper Contagion: Any hero who rolls damage against The Regret becomes infected by The Regret's sickly aura. They recieve 2 random effects from The Regret's list of immunities. Nemesis: The Regret gets his own turn at the end of each round. Parts of a Whole: Each part of The Regret's body that is destroyed inflicts 300 damage to him, disregarding Fragile. Lifeline: The Regret cannot be defeated until all of his other body parts are destroyed. When all of them are destroyed, however, The Regret is made permanently Fragile, disregarding any immunities he may have. He stares at the heroes with insanity, a hood of smog and sickness surrounding his head. With the steed and rider manifested, the horse rears up and slams down its front two hooves, the impact nearly toppling the heroes. "Pestilence, my daddy called it, the Rosalia. Pestilence...!" Will the party say or do anything before the final battle? -

Johon, fueled by his resent, rushes through the battlefiled. The Regret's sabers are split in half, the burst of light severing his arms. They are thrown off, the sevred appendages disintegrating as they fly through the air, becoming nothing but black plasm before they hit the ground. Bleeding profusely, The Regret casts a horrible curse over the entire party, rendering their positive effects null and void for the next skirmish. The Regret's Turn: >Erdathcath: Pestilence! Specials: Power Surge: The Regret overflows with power. At the end of the next round, the first 3 heroes in the battle order are hit for 90 damage each. Saber Storm: With a horrific roar The Regret makes fatal needles descend from the sky, impaling 3 random heroes. If the needles lodged in their body are not destroyed by the end of the round, those heroes are knocked out instantly. The All Consuming Flame: The Regret unleashes hellfire on the hero who rolled Special Damage, reducing them 1 HP, 1 Ether, cutting their SP in half for the rest of the battle, and removes all of their positive effects. Specials decided randomly. Passive Specials: Adaption: All negative effects, Poison and Bleeding excluded, last for only 3 rounds against The Regret. After they expire, they are added to his list of immunities. Hyper Contagion: Any hero who rolls damage against The Regret becomes infected by The Regret's sickly aura. They recieve 2 random effects from The Regret's list of immunities. Nemesis: The Regret gets his own turn at the end of each round. Parts of a Whole: Each part of The Regret's body that is destroyed inflicts 300 damage to him, disregarding Fragile. Lifeline: The Regret cannot be defeated until all of his other body parts are destroyed. When all of them are destroyed, however, The Regret is made permanently Fragile, disregarding any immunities he may have.
