The hands once again screech, forming their murky fingers into the shapes of claws. They were sloshing, closer and closer, perhaps ready to pounce... "StoP taKing ThiNGs thaT aren'T yoUrs! GiVe it baCK! You'RE gonNa maKe dOc ANGRY!" -
"I'd watch your mouth, warden. You're currently surrounded by these "so called" worms. And don't think I don't encourage a little bit of, ah, audience participation."

"You're falling apart icely, Mortimer. Last time we talked you had fight in you. Who pushed you over the edge? The Gladius Unit, perhaps?"

Vindsval reads the writing after grabbing the gloves: Vindsval soon realizes the mistake he made by taking the gloves, the water behind the party churning and stirring. The muck accumaltes and amasses, forming disgusting, handlike amalgams reaching out from the sewer water... The same strained voice from the statues rings out from seemingly below the water, the sorrowful screeching gurgling around them. "giVe it BAck giVe it Back gIVE iT baCk noW noW NOW!! It'S noT yoUrs!" -
"You've been desensitized, it seems. Shame. I guess having to kill poor, innocent Monolith made the last of humanity in that wooden of carcass snap, didn't it? I'm sure the crowd would welcome you with open arms if you decided to spectate. After all... Ever since you killed my little brother, you've been just like an Oculoid."
-
"I don't think the consequences of your pride have sunk in quite yet, Boomingham."
-
Ther party, their resolve as steeled as it possibly could be, throw open the large doors. A cold rush of wind welcomes them, as they step in from the oppressive and lifeless halls of the Oculoid factory into the gargantuan room... The party expected an amphitheater, but not one brimming with Oculoids. Hundreds, possibly even thousands, of Oculoids were crammed into the sides of the arena, all staring down the Heroes with devilish glares, or talking to their comrades about the bloodshed that was sure to ensue. In the center of the arena stood the Monolith MK II, his size dwarfing everything else in the room. He looked at the heroes with a similar, dire gaze, but still he stood nonchalantly, perhaps thinking his victory was ineveitable. Flanking the sides of the rooms were massive mobs of Oculoids, struggling to get a good view of the main event. Above it all, hovering above the announcer's podium, was none other than Oculoid Mastermind Seerus. "I told you I'd stack the deck, heroes." Monolith Mk II's voice is drowned out by Seerus's. Interestingly, he only had 4 tentacles - and all of them were still wounded in some way. "Well, well, WELL, look who decided to show up! We were almost afraid that the Monolith would go without opposition... Buit it looks like you dredged up enough nerve from gods-knows-where to come and face your executioner. Yes, the old Monolith had a few bugs... But we made a few changes, you see. One, two, a dozen!" The audience erupts into a twisted cheer: "MON-OH-LITH! MON-OH-LITH!" "We took the old model - a reluctant killer - and turned him into a perfect living warmachine, the perfect murderer! So, heores, are you going to run and hide and wait for The Regret to kill you? Or will you accept your fate with dignity?" QM Note: I'll give you folks a couple of hours to RP before I start the battle!

Lynne runs over to Polly's side. "Just hold still, okay? Just hold still and I'll try to make it better..." Lynne heals Polly from the back row. -
"Uh... Okay, *wheeze* Boomingham. Do you really think he'll be that tough?"
-
"With the height difference and Mk II's shield.. I'm not sure how we can actually reach and pierce that ribcage..."
-
"We have the... Heartbreaker, we should be perfectly fine, yes..." The paragon was actively struggling to hold the lance, or so it seemed. "...You okay, Mr. Cour...?" "Yes, I spent 3 years of my life hauling animal carcasses at the butcher shop during my teenage years, I can carry this.. thing... Hrrng."

Lynne brushes her hand across her face, wiping off a trail of black blood, wondering if anyone noticed the odd anamoly. She hadn't been so throughly injured since... "Hang on guys, hang on, hang on... I just have to patch myself up, real quick..." Lynne heals herself from the back row. -
105ers/115ers/111ers, my internet is being shut down in about half an hour due to the move. It'll be back Friday night, so fortunately we won't miss another night of updates for the foreseeable future - just don't expect anything Friday afternoon or the rest of tonight.

Heroica RPG - Quest #115: The Tale of One Bleach Too Many

The party descends down into the waterlogged basement, various debris bobbing in the murky waters. Wuth every step down the rusted metal ladder the heroes are assaulted by a more and more horrid stench, descending into the practically oppressive disposal level. Leeches, the mystery authoer's so called friends, prowl the knee deep water, but they mostly stay away from the heroes. They were instead drawn to one of the hissing pipes n the wall, every joint spurting out filthy water. Below the pipe is another chalk inscription. Bobbing in the water, the party finds something - or rather, a pair of somethings - a pair of quality gloves, only recently disposed of. They appeared to be Jonathan's size. What would the party do? -
"That... That might just work!" The sound of Monolith still tearing down the walls behind them, the party excitdly assembles the impressive lance: Well-Crafted Heartbreaker: A heavy lance tipped with a sharpened diamond blade, and loaded with a specially made explosive. Using it on Monoliths pierces their ribcage and then blasts it to smithereens, exposing its pulsating heart. Due to the party not improperly forcing the pieces together too many times, it also deals an additional 500 damage to Monolith's heart. After using it on a Monolith, however, the explosion ruins the weapon... Masson heaves up the lance, holding it with both hands. Even then, Karie can tell even he was struggling with the weight, despite his years of physical labor.Shal "Shall we go confront the beast, then?" With the drill causing the wall to rupture, the party rushes out with the new lance in hand to confront the rampaging Monolith. "Here to strike me down, you little-" It was then when the warmachine spotted the lance Masson was gripping, his knuckles white from holding the weighty weapon. He speaks with a caged madness. "...No no. That... That will not do. You think you'll just beat me so easily, as you did my younger brother, heroes? I think not. Full disclosure here, heroes, I'm interested in stacking the deck in my favor. So... I think I'll stage a tactical retreat for now, until i'm in a more optimal position." Before the party can react, the Warmachine flees the scene, surprisingly fast. "Coward... Lets follow him!" Indeed, the Monolith Mk Ii's heavy feet tore up the concrete floors, the party easily tracking him down through the winding corridors of the oculoid factory. To their sides were vats upon vats of Oculoid ink, enriched by the Lifespark... And above them was the steel conduits carrying their plasm flesh, oculoids being assembled above their head and delivered throughout the citadel for programming. The party uses the machines tracks to navigate the labryinthine factory, leading them to a large door. The door's label: "Amphitheater." "Prepare yourselves for battle. If he's "stacking the deck", I can hardly imagine what lies beyond here. Either way... When we dispose of the Mk II, all that is left is The Regret himself. So... You guys ready...?" Will the party prepare for the imminent battle?
-
The pieces don't fit quite right... "Hmm... I think you had the full cylinder piece right... I think you're attaching too many pieces to the bottom end of the thin hilt."
-
Masson speaks qucikly, but his words are heavy and unsure. "Mortimer... Mortimer, calm down. Deep breaths, or - or something. We have the solution to killing that warmachine in our hands. We can do this."

The half gaint first tries to force the lock, but fails, the doctor's lock too high quality to be picked or broken - a bizzare contrast, considering everything else here was decaying and ruined. Vindsval swings down his hammer towards the door with a heavy swing, bearing all of his weight into the smashing gesture. However, as he makes contact with the door, wood splinters bursting off of its surface as the hammer hits his mark, the half giant recoils backwards. He feels a burst of wind and chilliness explode out along with the splinters, nearly sending him tumbling backwards, as if someone or something repelledhim. -

Khorne, if my inactivity has been impeding his quest, I'm really sorry. I know I've repeated this excuse about two dozen times now, but I'm moving, and yet another issue emerged today. "They're... *huff* dodgy for looking so sluggish." Lynne regains her breath and repeats her attack. -
"The blade is *wheeze* right, but..." Punii is cut off by another loud crash as the Monolith breaks down the first wall. "The hilt is off... By two pieces, now."
-
The facial design for Mk II was indeed inspired by CallMePie's red ring of death remark.
-
"Close, incredibly close! But... From what I can tell, you have one piece wrong in both." 9 attempts remain! QM Note: Collectively. "O-okay, Karie...!" The two women frantically push the desk against the door. It wouldn't stop or slow down Monolith's assault on the disposal room, but if it DID break in, it'd now likely stumble over the desk.
