Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion

Yeah, dismissing an entire prequel just because it contradicts one line in the original which could easily be chalked up to an insignificant joke seems pretty silly to me too. Give the movie a chance.- 279 replies

Again, you have some good points, but I still don't think that World of Chima is going to draw in as big a crowd as a World of Ninjago would have. The press release only states that it is the highest tested theme in recent years, which doesn't necessarily mean that it will actually be successful. If you look at toy isles right now you'll see that Ninjago is still flying off the shelves while Chima is mostly warming the shelves. I can understand that they want to be ready for when the theme finally takes off if it ever does, but I still don't see why they couldn't have based this Legoland expansion on a safer bet like Ninjago, especially since they seem to plan to continue the theme next year. Oh well, I personally don't really care what they have or don't have at Legoland, so I just hope Lego's plans work out in their favor.

Hehe, cosmic brick. Shoulda seen that coming. Cool, thanks! The animation and gameplay look as good as you could expect! Can't wait for more! Yeah, Tony sounds nothing like what he has ever sounded like before. Spidey and Coulson will need some getting used to, but they're not so bad. Yeah, that's his unmistakable roar alright. And that's definitely James A. Taylor as Spidey. Not my first choice for the webslinger, but I like him, so I'm okay with it. His last line in that video was hilarious.

Happy Birthday, officer! I hope you have a great day and thank you for all the awesome work (and raffles) that you do for EuroAmeribricks!

Okay, thanks. I was just wondering since you said that all the prizes had been sent out over two weeks ago.

Yeah, I'm getting that feeling as well. They did the same with Ninjago, but in that case it worked because the theme on its own was popular. With Chima it feels like they're just trying to force it into popularity. (Nice Easter themed analogy by the way. ) What about it? Are you always creeped out by life-size versions of minifigures? I guess you're right, although it still surprises me that they are doing this with Chima and didn't do it with a more proven successful theme like Ninjago. By the way, is it just me or is shooting water the Legoland equivalent of flick-fire missiles?

I still haven't received my prize. Should I be concerned?

Yeah, they're just too perfect not to do! I still have some ring-related crossovers planned, but this is the last one involving the Mandarin, I promise. At least for now. Looking forward to your next one.

Hehe, nice one, 8BrickMario. I had to think about it a little too, but I got it. It's been a little while since I posted here, so here are some new funnies: Teenage Mutant Riddler Turtle by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Lacking Office by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Collector of the Rings by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Looks like Mandarin has finally seen the true power of the One Ring and decided to add it to his collection, much to the dismay of Gollum.

Not sure if this has been discussed already or if this is even the right place to discuss it, but apparently Legoland Florida is going to get a whole new section completely devoted to Chima. When I heard about this I thought it was an early April Fools joke. Chima isn't bad, but it certainly doesn't seem popular enough to warrant an entire section of a theme park. What do you think?

Some good stuff here, guys! Detective Chimp made me laugh. Not bad! But Captain Atom definitely needs the Peeves head and perhaps a flat-top hairpiece. Love the Cyborg Supes as well!

Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion

I think this comment is getting redundant. Everybody wants to see The Incredibles 2. But I guess they must have their reasons for not making it (yet). Lucky! Can you peak inside their window and tell us what they're working on? Not sure where the release date for the Inside Out is coming from, but it sure would be great to have two Pixar movies in a year (as long as their quality doesn't suffer of course)!- 279 replies

Uhm, yeah, aren't you overreacting a little? So far they've had only three sequels, two of which were great, and one prequel which is too early to judge but looks pretty good. The idea for this one sounds interesting enough and it's based on a great movie, so I am optimistic about it. There are enough original Pixar movies to look forward to, so I don't see the problem.- 279 replies

I don't know, I thought the story was a bit lacking and cheesy, and the pacing was all over the place. It kinda reminded me of the Ice Age movies in that it was mostly about the characters trying to escape natural disasters while bonding as a family. It was still fun, though, and the animation was beautiful as always. I also saw Olympus Has Fallen... Not as bad as the critics say. It certainly has its silly moments, but it's suspenseful and action-packed all the way through, so if you're looking for some mindless fun a'la Die Hard, you'll definitely enjoy this movie. In fact, I think this was more enjoyable than the last two Die Hard movies. Sorry, Bruce, but I think you're getting too old for this.

Sorry, I didn't know that was already known. Anyway, I think it's neat that it comes with a turntable.

Hehe, not bad Leewan. I have some jokes regarding the STWOR sets too. Thanks to CopMike, I now have a Darth Malgus and can finally execute some funnies I've been wanting to do, so here they are. Remember that discussion we had about Malgus a few pages ago? So that's my entry. As you can see, I like to think that Fabuland is what Chima used to be like before all the animals got addicted to chi and started fighting each other. I hope you enjoyed this little demonstration of how the war might have started. Also, yay for my first multi-pane comic!

There's also a new carry case that should be useful for people who are looking for a nice way to store their Friends minidolls and animals:

Hello again everybody! Here's my next Fabuland contest entry, a sailboat. There have been many rowboats and steamboats in Fabuland, but none that sail. With this, the Fabulanders can go out to sea to go fishing or to just enjoy themselves. Hello everyone! I don't have many Fabuland parts, and the ones I do have are all from other themes. When I was looking through them, I saw that I do have two Fabuland airplane engines, so I thought about I could build with those, and this is the result: a seaplane! With this vehicle, all the Fabulanders can transport larger amounts of persons or cargo, by water and by air! I like to think that the pilot is named Steven Seagull. C&C welcome. Have a fabulous month!

OMG! I just realized: If you switch the hair piece on this minifig out for the new Count Dooku hair, you get Stan Lee!! Can't wait to get this fig now!
-
When Fabuland month started, I dreamed that I found a bunch of Fabuland figs and parts in my grandparents' attic. Too bad it wasn't real because I could have used those to make some contest entries.

I agree with most of what's been said. It's a shame to see Green Lantern go since there were still so many great stories to tell, but at least it went out on a good note. Young Justice was just... UGH! Green Beetle gets ruined, Wally dies, the Runaways split up, the team finally gets to work alongside the League, a story arc with Darkseid is being set up, and THIS is where they decide to end it?!? Are you friggin kidding me?! I didn't notice all the out-of-character actions the first time I watched the episode, but after rewatching it and reading all the comments here, they are starting to annoy me too and make me hate this episode even more. Summit would have been SO much better as a series finale, so I'm trying to forget that Endgame ever existed, but it's hard to just forget it. And seeing that preview of Teen Titans Go and how terrible it is doesn't help. And I don't know if you've heard, but it looks like we can add Transformers Prime to our list of cartoons that are really good and critically acclaimed, but get cancelled anyway for some stupid reason. At least we have one last, short season to look forward to which starts tonight. I'm sorry, but I'm just so pissed off. I don't usually like using memes on this site, but seeing all these great shows getting discontinued and replaced by mediocre ones leaves me no choice but to say:

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. And yes, I love the Nostalgia Critic as well as the Angry Video Game Nerd. I'm so glad the Critic is back and can't wait for the AVGN movie! They are my inspiration for my own reviews, even though I'm not even nearly as angry as them.- 279 replies
