Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Hehe, I thought you two might like that one. Thanks! I guess we can call him Bozo Baggins now. Well, the SW sets this year seem to focus very heavily on the Battle of Geonosis, so that's why the Geonosian is there, and Twitch is kind of a stand-in for the mosquito-like alien from GS which I don't have. I think I got the point across despite half of them not actually being 2013 figs. Thank you! I do always try to take good pictures, even if these are just meant to be funny.

Thanks commodore! This next one is probably not my strongest batch, but here it goes anyway: Year of the Bug by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr War Fury by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr An Unexpected Result by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr

This is obviously not the case. This theme has been in testing for years and they made sure that it is just the way it appeals most to little girls. Girls liked the minidolls better than regular minifigures, so that's what they went with. I don't know why exactly their arms are angled away from their body so much (I think it's so that they can raise their arms up despite their large hairpieces) but I don't think that's the real issue with binoculars or microphones not lining up with their head; it's because their arms are so long. They are more proportionally accurate to a human body than minifigs, so their arms and legs are longer and they would probably just point accessories at their foreheads if their arms were more aligned with their body. As for their hands not being posable, I'm pretty sure Lego wouldn't be able to make them rotate on those thin arms without making them too unstable. Besides, just look at how long Barbie has lasted without being able to move her hands. Ultimately, I believe minidolls weren't made to be posable as much as they were made to look pretty/cute. I guess that's what girls care about more. Sorry if I got a little carried away, but your assumptions that TLG would just quickly and carelessly throw together a girls theme are both ridiculous and disrespectful to the good people at Lego who worked hard to make this the successful theme it is today.

I guess you only have to be 16 to pilot airplanes and yachts as well in Heartlake City.

The Penguin's Movie and Cartoon Minifigures. )
Oky replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Hi Pengy! Have you ever considered making customs based on Pixar films? There is a good bunch of characters from Toy Story that never got made, such as Mr. & Mrs. Potatohead, Slinky, Barbie, Ken, and (most importantly) Wheezy! It would be awesome if you would make some of them! I would even appreciate alternate versions of characters we have already gotten, such as Buzz Lightyear in his Mrs. Nesbitt outfit! It would also be great to see you make characters from other Pixar films as well, such as The Incredibles. I am not sure if you are even a fan of their movies (then again, who isn't?) but I just thought I'd throw that out there. -
Wouldn't a "Like" button improve the forum
Oky replied to Vindicare's topic in Forum Information and Help
I think I'm in the same camp as people like Cornelius and Big Cam here. I find Likes to be rather meaningless as people will "like" pretty much anything nowadays, and I always prefer an actual comment over a Like any day, no matter how short it may be. For example, many people on Flickr seem to be using the Favorite button as a Like button whereas I actually use it to mark my absolute favorite pictures on Flickr. Sometimes people go through my photostream favoriting every single one of my pictures, which can be a bit annoying. While I appreciate that they like my work, I would much prefer it if they just left me a message or comment saying so instead of hitting a button a hundred times. I do see how a Like button would make it easier for people here to show their approval of something, especially for the non-English speaking members, but I think it would make it too easy and might reduce the amount of posted comments, which would be a bad thing. It is of my opinion that things like Like buttons are making people lazy nowadays, and I don't like that. We need people to comment more, not less. So in conclusion, I think a Like button would do more harm than good. However, that's just a theory and I'm an open-minded person, so if there are enough people who are in favor of the addition of one, and if it's not too much work for the admins, I guess it couldn't hurt to add one and see how it goes. If it doesn't slow down the discussions on the forum during the trial period, we could keep it. In fact, why don't we add a poll to this topic and see how many actually want one and how many don't? On a side note, I find it funny how much controversy one little button can create. -
Are you sure that's not just Iron Fist cross-dressing? Hehe, nice work. And I agree, your Phoenix is brilliant! Well, if you're just looking for a torso, then I think one of the PoP torsos might work, but if you want him to wear actual armor as well, I think this is as close as you can get.

I don't know why everyone is saying that "it's about time we had LR funnies" seeing as the theme just got released, but that sure is a good one, CM. Great use of those faces. Anyway, since I don't have any of those sets yet and know next to nothing about the Lone Ranger, here are more of my usual superhero crossovers: Captain Boomerang by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Iron Fist isn't the only laid-back, masked, crime-fighting martial artist voiced by Greg Cipes currently. Iron Mikey by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr This one is not so much a crossover than it is yet another joke about the Malibu Mansion. It's just too easy making fun of this set. Yay! My first Fabuland set! Thanks to all of you who voted for me and congratulations to Cecilie who did a fantastic job with her animation! I'm sorry for The Penguin who lost to an entry with a similar subject matter. His entry was great as well, and I feel like he put a lot more effort into his entry than I did. And thanks to the staff of course for this fun themed month season and the generous prizes! I shall give Marc Monkey a good home. I believe Cecilie should have 45 points, not 48, but I could be wrong. Oh well, not like it matters. Everything else seems fine. So should we send you our addresses?

Has it been confirmed that they weren't put into the phantom zone? If so, that would indeed make sense. Speak for yourself. If god-like beings from another planet came down from the sky and started shooting lasers out of their eyes, I'd be a whole lot more freaked out than if they just carried guns. I do see the need for space ships, but the handheld guns are just redundant in my opinion.

Well, yes, there is one rumored to be released this year under that number, but it will not be the one pictured. EDIT: Looks like someone removed the pictures. Good.
-
That's a MOC, and it doesn't have nearly the amount of supporters it needs on Cuusoo to be produced yet, so it's very unlikely that it will be released this year. Don't believe everything you read on a wikia.
-
I guess that makes sense. They just never needed them before, so that's why I'm asking. I guess it comes down to how much weaker they want to portray them compared to Superman, which must be more than usual in this film.

Meh, looks decent. But as others have said, it still looks too origin heavy and I'm still not sold on Supes either, both the actor and the suit. The story just seems too predictable. Oh well, at least it seems we'll get some nice action. I'll watch it, but I can't seem to get excited for it. By the way, has it been explained yet why in the world Zod and his army need armor and weapons? I mean, they are friggin Kryptonians, aren't they? Meh, still doesn't beat

Well, even in that case it wouldn't be unfair since you can just print those out. The TMNT set instructions come with the same poster that you get at TRU (just a little smaller I think), and some of the LotR/Hobbit sets do too, I believe. And yes, that's fan-made. You can tell by the weird yellow color and the pose. And it has been posted about a million times already, so please stop!
-
All they're saying is that there are IM3 sets with these minifigures in them. What do you mean "not fair if this is true"? Are you saying that it's unfair that they are implying that Iron Patriot is in the sets when he is not? I think it's very likely that they have no clue which minifigures exactly are in the sets, so I wouldn't put much weight on such a general statement that is obviously just meant to promote the movie and the sets. I think everyone just needs to calm down about Iron Patriot and wait. Nick Fury was on the Avengers poster, and while we didn't get him in the first wave, we still got him soon after, so it's possible that Iron Patriot will be released in some form or another down the line. A Marvel Visual Dictionary is one possibility. I think there is enough material from the Spider-Man line and the Avengers, X-Men, and Ultimate Spider-Man sets to fill one half of the book with, and the other half they can fill with stuff from the videogame, just like they did with the Batman dictionary.

Great work, everyone! I had the same idea for Vigilante, Plissken, and you executed it perfectly! Anyway, I had some more ideas: 1. Batman and Robin from the upcoming Batman boardgame could be used as Bat Mite and Larry respectively. 2. Has anyone used the Shaq head to recreate Steel yet?
-
Yeah, I thought that was a little odd too. Oh well, it was still funny. Nice work everybody! Here are some more from me. First, an old movie reference: Steel by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Masked Tumbler by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Superhero Guns by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr

Just because there are microfigs of them in a board game doesn't mean anything. I'm still waiting for those Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students from the Hogwarts game.

Why is Black Widow wearing casual clothes and what's she doing in a Superman set? Also, that pod... Galidor anyone? Seriously though, that set looks pretty good, even if just for the parts and figs. I think I'll buy this and skip the other two. Quite frankly, I can't imagine why anyone would get the Metropolis showdown over this set since you get Lois, Zod's battle armor, and a lot more parts in addition to Supes and Zod for just a few dollars more. So does this mean they will be released soon?
-
I'm sure you can do it. And if you haven't seen the original show, I can highly recommend it! You can find it on Youtube. True, but I'll leave that to the Moodland Master. This was just one of many ideas I've had in mind for this CB, so I have plenty of other entries to build.

Thanks! I was actually thinking about doing something like that since that scene was so awesome too, but I decided against it since there wouldn't be any actual building involved as it would just be Mace Windu with some battle droids on a baseplate.

Really? Almost an entire month has passed and only two entries? Let's hope the entries will start pouring in during the second half of the build... Anyway, here's my first entry: Let's get building, folks!
