    MOC: The Void

Thanks! Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one who liked it. You think so? BZ is dark green, so I thought the green body would be very fitting.
  2. Hello everybody! Since the deadline has been extended, I built another entry for the CW community build! I present to you my most intricate MOC yet: a recreation of the most exciting and action packed episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars EVER! A Sunny Day in the Void The Void by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Okay, maybe I just wanted to show off my pit droid and Gascon designs. Although I did genuinely enjoy this episode a bit. Here is a profile shot of D-Squad: (from left to right) WAC-47, R2-D2, U9-C4, M5-BZ, Colonel Meebur Gascon, and QT-KT. D-Squad by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And here's A close-up of what is probably the only truly original part of this "MOC", the frog-like leader of D-Squad. He's a little oversized, but this is as small as I could make him. Colonel Meebur Gascon by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And for those unfamiliar with this episode, here's a reference picture:
  3. Thanks, glad you like it. Hehe, nice one. More fun with Harry and the Dark Knight: WereWakz by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr The Dark Knight Jumps by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Nizamdarin by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  4. As Wedge Antilles would say: "Look at the size of that thing!" This is a very impressive way to introduce yourself to this site, Outworlder, most impressive! Aside from the sheer size of this MOC and the fact that it is built entirely out of Lego pieces, I really like your use of studded and studless plates which gives it a nice texture. Very nice greeble too. I was unfamiliar with this EU ship before I saw your recreation, but now I don't think I will forget it any time soon. Great work, and I hope to see more creations from you!
  5. Don't get me wrong, I'm not critical about EqG because I think it's bad or that it ruins "Faust's vision" or the franchise or anything like that. I don't have a problem with the designs either. Sure there are better fan arts out there, but these do a good job at staying within the style of the show. It just seems like a very cliche high school drama from what I have seen (even the song used in the trailer sounds like a very generic pop song), and that's just not my cup of tea. Plus, as I said before, I'm not a fan of the concept of turning the ponies into humans since that kinda takes the magic out of their character - in Twilight's case literally. I just don't see the appeal. Then again, everything that can be said against this movie is stuff that every brony would have said about MLP:FiM before they watched it, so who knows, maybe the creators can work their magic again for this genre. It is definitely worth checking out, I'm just lowering my expectations because I just can't see myself enjoying a high school drama, but hopefully I'm wrong. At the very least it will be interesting to see how the whole stolen crown plot fits into this and who the villain is.
  6. Well, it looks like it has a pretty big budget and a decent amount of action, plus it seems to have Luke Cage and possibly other Heroes for Hire, so I'm excited for it! As for Coulson, I think they were probably able to save him, but Fury chose not to tell the Avengers. There is no need to make it any more complicated than that. While Faefrost has some interesting points, I don't think there is anything really inhuman about Coulson (he's just what you would expect an agent of a secret spy organization to be like - stiff and well trained in combat and infiltration) and I just don't see why SHIELD would want to make an android of him.
  7. Yeah, I'm not either. Never been a fan of those humanized fan arts, and this is nothing like what I would imagine the first MLP:FiM movie to be like. And seriously, this is going to be shown in theaters? If this movie was about the mane six going on an epic adventure, I could see how it would deserve to be shown on the big screen, but this seems more like a straight to DVD movie at best. I'm actually kinda hoping that this movie will flop so that they give up on this concept and don't make a whole series based on it. I might check this out when it makes its way onto the internet or the Hub or netflix, but I certainly wont pay to see it.

  9. Time to get back into reviewing!

  10. Great work, ISC and Mood! Alright, here are my two Ventress vignettes: And here is my new Durge scene:
  11. Thanks, Mood! I guess they didn't want to copy too much from the original series. After all, they already borrowed Ventress and the overall look of the show along with some story arcs like the Mon Cal battle. I'm guessing Cad Bane is supposed to be his replacement in the new show.
  12. Hello everyone! I got a lot of requests for a scene with Durge, so here it is: the first big duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Durge during the Battle of Muunilinst from the original Clone Wars series! Obi-Wan vs. Durge by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Surrounding them are the burning debris of the Muunilinst buildings and Obi-Wan's split speederbike which Durge used to attack him with. Obi-Wan vs. Durge back by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Durge uses all kinds of weapons and gadgets against Kenobi, including blasters and small round energy shields. Obi-Wan vs. Durge side by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Here's a close up of the two duelists. I didn't push Durge's head down all the way on purpose to give him the tall look that he has in the show. Obi-Wan Kenobi & Durge by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Obi-Wan eventually manages to cut Durge into pieces, but the fight is far from over... 13. Yeah, I did too, and yes, there was a flyer included saying "We would like to thank you for shopping at shop.Lego.com with a free trial of the hottest new LEGO theme! We sincerely value you shopping with us and hope this free gift provides hours of LEGO build-and-battle fun! Remember to visit shop.Lego.com for all the newest, most exclusive LEGO products and information!" It then goes on to briefly describe what Chima is about and how to play with your Speedorz. There's otherwise nothing special on there, but I can provide a scan if you like. It doesn't really say why I got it. Maybe it was only for May the 4th orders or maybe you have to spend a certain amount to get it? Who knows. Either way, while I'm not a fan of Chima (the TV show is truly awful), it was quite a pleasant surprise to receive this in addition to my free Han Solo fig and Yoda poster. I even received a Mr. Gold sticker as well. Very generous of Lego!

    Star Wars

Perhaps if they make a Battlefield: Star Wars Edition... Seriously though, if there was any hope of a Battlefront 3 before (which I don't think there was) there sure isn't any now. These new games will probably be based on the new movies, like pretty much everything else is. If we're lucky, we might get a game that's similar to it some day, but it wont really have anything to do with Battlefront.
  15. Peter Griffin vs. Giant Chicken Minifig: Chicken Suit Guy Theme: Family Guy My entry for this category depicts the beginning of the famous chicken fight from Family Guy. One day while at the grocery store, Peter is handed a coupon by a giant chicken and is delighted at first, but once he gets to the cashier, he finds out that the coupon has expired! Enraged, he lunges out of the store's window at the chicken, and so a never-ending battle began... Peter Griffin vs. Giant Chicken - Sans Chicken by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr In this back view you can see the cash register and Peter's shopping basket with milk in it. Peter Griffin vs. Giant Chicken by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And here's a frontal view of Oky Peter jumping out of the window, a chicken POV if you will. Peter Griffin vs. Giant Chicken by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And for comparison, here is the scene it was based on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpoki4wBwtA Click here to see the scene with the chicken.
  16. Yeah, you're probably right, especially since they always have a new gimmick armor upgrade in each movie. Quite frankly, I wouldn't mind if War Machine returns and takes Iron Man's place in Avengers 2 (although Iron Man would be preferable of course). And I don't think the suits were packed with explosives. I'm pretty sure he just set their arc reactors to overload or something. Hehe, good point. I don't think a relationship would be worth it either if it required you to blow up all your Lego.
  17. Thanks everyone! Glad you like it. Well, at this point of the duel the rain had already stopped and there were no puddles on the ground, so there was not much to recreate, but at least I chose a hairpiece for Anakin that would portray his wet hair from this scene. I hope you can tell that it's supposed to be wet. Just regular old gray. Yeah, it's a quite nice, albeit rather un-Lego-y looking piece. Before this MOC, I used it as a base for a Republic artillery tower. What have you used it for?
  18. Thanks everyone! Although I find it funny how everyone seems to be more fascinated with the shredded paper on the ground than the joke itself. Haha, good one, Kiel! I never noticed that they were in so many movies together! People were asking for a funny about Shredder's head, so here you go: Fire Lord Shredder by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr This idea came from the MCU thread in Multimedia: Selfish Superheroes by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And another crossover: Chi Colors by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  19. OK, so here are my thoughts on Iron Man 3:
  20. Thanks! And yes, she is a bounty hunter now. This was early on in the CW, right after she became Dooku's apprentice.
  21. Thanks! The base is from the Piraka Stronghold. As you can see, those Bionicle sets were quite useful for Star Wars MOCs.
  22. Happy Star Wars Day everyone! Here's my next entry to the Clone Wars community build which is a follow up to my previous one. Having proven herself to Count Dooku and Darth Sidious, Asajj Ventress was tasked to assassinate Anakin Skywalker. She lured him into a trap on the moon Yavin 4 where they engaged in an intense duel throughout the jungle ruins. Eventually, Anakin gave in to his anger and was able to defeat her, fueled by his rage against the Jedi Council. Ventress was assumed to be dead, but she survived and continued to serve her masters. I hope you like it, and May the Fourth be with you!
  23. Well, I guess that's possible (and that does seem like something Azula would do, forging the letter to control Zuko), but then again, what else would get Ozai so infuriated in that flashback? It would be an incredible tease if this turns out to be false, especially seeing how much sense it makes in the context of the show. If there is one thing A:TLA is not known for, it's cheap "soap opera twists" that go nowhere, and as you said yourself, the involvement of the original creators of the show gives this twist a lot more credibility. I also agree with pretty much everything else you said, about how this fits into Zuko's story and how much more awesome this would have been in animated form with the voice actors. And yes, it would indeed be great to see the characters grow up and form Republic City. Perhaps they could skip ahead a little? Either way, I look forward to more from this series. And yes, it's never a bad time to rewatch the old episodes! I keep seeing reruns on Nick and every time I still get glued to the screen. They're just so darn good, way beyond all the other crap on TV nowadays. Seeing every other show with the same level of quality and potential getting cancelled makes me even the more glad that A:TLA exists and was given the chance to reach its full potential. It's also great that it's legacy continues to give us good entertainment in the form of Korra and these comic books.
