I'd love that too, but as you say, that would just be rip-off of the EA games. True, but Lego Batman the Videogame and the discontinuation of the Lego Batman line went hand-in-hand as well. (R.I.P., Lego Batman. ) Easy: With hopes and dreams! Agreed!

EDIT: Sorry for the doube post. The stupid server is not working at all right now and I have trouble posting. EDIT 2: Btw, I removed the SWCG Ch.4 promo pic from my sig and replaced it with a link to this poll. I think everyone should do that since Season 1 is over and we don't want anyone to join it right now. When (or if) season 2 starts, we can start advertising the game again.

That's exactly what I thought when I created this type of ending! It may not make a lot of sense or make the whole season seem "obsolete", but it's better for the game. Sorry to hear that you didn't like it, though. You're right. It is getting old. So, please stop it and get over it! Both ideas sound pretty good! Hm... an ancient Sith artifact, you say? You mean, like, something that will give Dooku and Palpy ultimate power or something? Sounds interesting, even though it seems a little IndianaJones-ish. At least it would be something different than some kind of super weapon or other piece of technology which is usually the center of a SW story. I don't know about the "new type of battle droid" idea, though. It seems a little... ordinary. Besides, we already have Super Battle Droids, droid commandos, and MagnaGuards, which already are top-of-the-line battle droids. And we already have droids that are nearly indestructible, like Destroyers (aka. Droidekas), and droids that have cloaking devices. So, what else is there to create? A droid that has all those abilities and is called "Ultra Battle Droid"? Sounds a bit cheesy... If we go with another super weapon to stay in SW tradition, we could go with something like this. Aw man! I wanted to post a summary of Chapter 4 in that thread! Couldn't you just leave it open for a little bit? Also, there were requests for a summary of the entire season. I am ready to make one, but where should I post it? That's good. I was going to complain about some players going solo for too long during the last season, but I forgot. Glad it's being considered. Season 2 ON!

Hey, if you guys are interested, you can find pics of all the Steam Wars entries here. Beautiful, aren't they?
-
Erm, I think they're just a couple of differently colored 1x1 or 1x2 bricks. Nothing special. I don't have the magnet, but I did have the calendar, and they were just bricks in that one too. Kinda lame if you ask me. It would look better if they were made out of three 1x2 plates or two plates and one tile, with the second plate in a different color than the other two pieces to represent a ribbon. Just my opinion.

I agree, those pics are probably just prelim. Btw, did anyone think about the fact that you could use the new telescope piece from the Pirates line as a lightsaber hilt?

I have been playing the SWCG since the beginning and enjoyed the first season very much. I wasn't always satisfied with other players' posts. There were a lot that were too short and didn't add anything to the story. There were also posts that didn't make any sense, which sometimes was a result of confusion about earlier posts. In the next season, such confusion could be prevented if players would be more specific in their posts. Also, there were times when I didn't see nearly as many pics in posts as I would have liked to see, but I can't blame anyone for not having the time to go through all the trouble of setting up a scene, taking a pic of it, uploading it to a image sharing website, and posting it in the game. I was satisfied with Jim as a leader. He kept the game going pretty well without interfering too much at all. And I was quite satisfied with my own behavior as co-leader as well. I liked the format and wouldn't have it any other way. If we wouldn't make it up as we go, it wouldn't be a game IMO. However, planning plot developments a little ahead of time proved to be quite useful. I think that should be encouraged in the next season. There is one thing that I wasn't very satisfied with, though: The variety of characters. The average character seemed to be some kind of clone commander or republic agent with self-taught lightsaber wielding skills. In fact, more than half of the players seemed to have used a lightsaber by the end of the game, but none of them was an actual Jedi. If there is to be another season, I'd suggest that there should be a rule against changing your mind about not having a lightsaber in the middle of the game and mysteriously acquire one along with the skills to use it. If you want to use a lightsaber, you should say that you are a Jedi or somebody trained by one from the beginning. Also, by the end, it was kinda hard to visually differentiate each player out of a group. But that was mostly due to the fact that most of us were wearing clone armor, which is no crime of course, considering it's the Clone Wars. If enough people are (honestly) interested - which seems to be the case - I would love another season!

Thanks. Well, after I entered the contest with pics that I took on the fly (to enter the contest in time), I wanted to make better pics of it in order to post it anywhere. I didn't get around to taking those pics until the beginning of summer. But when I had the pics, I had to concentrate on school until summer break. And in that break, we went on a long vacation, so I forgot all about this MOC. As school started again, I kinda got into small, semi-dark age as you might remember. Then, when I was looking through the poor Steam Wars section of the MOC Index thread of this forum, I decided to finally post it here in order to enrich that part of the index and get other members to post their Steam Wars MOCs as well.

Yes, unfortunately, the standard was pretty darn high. There were some truly incredible steampunk MOCs among them. Just look them up on Flickr or Brickshelf. You can find the top 10 entries in the Steam Wars entry thread on FBTB. Judging from all the laughing and grinning emoticons, I'm pretty sure he was kidding, KimT. He was just being a smart-astronaut. Thanks! (About time! ) Yes, I do hope there will be more Steam Wars MOCs being shared here. As I said above, there are much better ones than those showcased on this website. And as I mentioned before, EB member Majek already shared his Castle vignettes with us. They are in the History forum, though. If I find them again, I'll post links in the Index thread.

2008 disappointing? Are you kidding me? The Clone Wars sets are excellent, despite the lack of clones and interior. And the DS is undoubtedly one of the greatest gifts from TLC to SW-loving AFOLs ever. So, anyone complaining about there not being enough OT sets this year should be ashamed. Saying that the CW line is boring because of the colors is also ridiculous. Isn't a unified look the whole point of a military faction? And you can't blame TLC for the general design of the ships either; if anything, that's George Lucas' fault. I really like all of the designs, except the Twilight. They are all very well made models of what they are supposed to be. The only thing that really bothers me about this year's line-up is that it's so darn pricey! I really hope this doesn't get any worse and that rumors of next year's BPs being over $10 are not true, because my wallet can't take much more of this! However, I do miss the opportunity to get main characters in smaller sets. The only set that allows you that at the moment is Anakin's JSF, but you only get Anakin with that one. Next year, there will be Ahsoka's JSF, but that one will be around 20-30 bucks as well and will only have Ahsoka and some exclusive droids. I mean, what ever happened to such neat little "Duel" sets like 7101? Oh well.

Well, I ordered the Grievous set too, of course, and I still haven't received it yet either. But I did get a shipping confirmation. However, the last update on the UPS site that that email links to is a departure scan in Memphis, TN, on 11/03/08. I wonder why it takes so long to get here... I want my Grievous, dammit!

Thanks, guys! Well, in my posts, you're always the one asking the clueless questions. Yup. Even a couple of hours before the beginning actually, as I said in the post. Don't worry, it will continue. And this time, you will even be able to give ideas as to how the next season will be like! But that'll be a separate thread, so don't post any suggestions in this one yet! I'm sorry to hear that. But technically, it wasn't a dream or anything; it really happened, but it got reversed at the end. I guess there is not much of a difference, but still, I did it for a reason. By doing this, I thought we could keep the SW universe "clean" of any time machines, mushroom mutants, and all the other weird stuff we have added to it during the game. Well, I'm gonna say no, because that was partly the point of the reboot. No more double versions of people or any of that funny kind of time travel stuff. As I said, this all did happen, so their sacrifices were needed to make it all not happen. Get it? It was supposed to be a good thing that they sacrificed themselves, but survive in the end. Sorry if it cheapens the memory. Get a life. No, just kidding, just kidding. Well, yes, she is alive, but think about it: Since there is no time machine, Dooku will never (alternately) take over the galaxy with it, so Beqin will never have reason to go back in time and try to kill you! She will grow up to become a good rebel, just like in the future that you visited with Adam. Yes, that would have worked, too, but I thought my version would be more interesting. Not quite yet. This is the time for people to fill plot holes if they need/want to, so the game is technically still going.

I saw it too! I quite liked it, but it's not my favorite. Rather shocking twists, I agree, and the amount of dueling was great! Yeah! WOOHOO! I so can't wait to see that one! I can also not wait to make a MOC of Grievous' Lair after I've seen the episode!

OK, here it is: The big finale! Rex pressed the detonator... but nothing happen. "What's going on?" asked Garviel. "I don't know, Sir, the detonator seems fine, but it's not working!" replied Rex confused. "Dammit!" cursed Garviel, "What do we do now?" "Hey guys," said a familiar voice behind them. They turned around and saw Adam, Pr0, Thok, and the present JD standing there. "YOU?? But... how?" stuttered Jim surprised. "Long story," said Pr0. "Looks like you guys could use some help." "You got that right!" confirmed Wouwie, relieved to have some back up. "Then let's show those Clankers what we're made of!" said JD, took out the chaingun that was given to him by his future self earlier, and started firing away at the droids. As they fired, they retreated backwards, until they got to the exit. But the door was locked. "It's too many of 'em!" exclaimed Rex. "Where is MacK with his grenades when you need him!" said Oky Wan. "Wait a minute," said Thok, "I may not have explosive grenades, but I do have EMP grenades!" "Droid poppers? Excellent!" said Jim. "Then what are you waiting for - Use them!" "right," said Thok, pulled the EMPs out of his belt, and threw them in the middle of the droids. After a few seconds, they went off, disabling the entire droid army. The group jumped up and made triumphant sounds. "Alright, now let's get out of here!" said Jim. "We can call in the armada and have them bomb this place into the ground." "NO, WAIT!" called JD. "Will and my future self are still in there! We need to save them!" And with those words, he ran off back to the room with the time machine. "JD, wait!" Jim called after him, but he was already gone. "Don't just stand there, after him! He needs our support!" Jim told the others, and so they followed JD. When they entered the time machine room, they were shocked by what they saw. Will and future JD lay on the ground, dead, and 8P-4C had been sliced into many parts. In the center of the room stood General Grievous, holding present JD up by his throat. The general laughed: "Isn't that touching! The noble heroes return to save their friends. Haha! Too bad they are already dead... Just like the rest of you is going to be!" And with that, he impaled JD with one of his lightsabers and threw his corpse aside. "NOOOOOOOOOOO! You monster!" cried Jim and charged at Grievous with flaming rage. Adam and Pr0, the only others with a lightsaber, followed him. Grievous split his arms and ignited all of his lightsabers. The others started to shoot at Grievous, but they were soon attacked by the mutants that the droid general had released earlier. Therefore, they were forced to concentrate their fire on them rather than Grievous. The mutants were pretty advanced, so they were much faster and much better armored than any before them. Meanwhile, the lightsaber wielders were having a fierce duel with the droid general. They fought well, but in the end they were no match for the general's speed and agility. First, Pr0 got cut in the side and fell to the ground. Then, a few minutes later, Adam lost his lightsaber-holding arm and one of his legs. In the end, there was only Jim left. He fought as hard as he could, but with no one to distract Grievous, the general was able to block every attack from him. Jim kept fighting nevertheless. However, at one point, Grievous caught him off-guard and sliced off his lightsaber-holding hand. Jim dropped on his knees, screaming in pain. Grievous lowered down to him and said: "Foolish Republic scum! Did you really think you could defeat me! I have taken on much more powerful Jedi than you! And did you really think I wouldn't notice that you set up charges in this room? Once you fled into the corridor, I defused them. Now, there is nothing that can stop me! Friends or not, you must realize: you are doomed!" Jim stared him in his yellow eyes and said: "You may have won this time, general, but the Republic will never be defeated! They will find you and destroy you!" Grievous squinted his eyes and said: "I don't think so." And he stabbed Jim into his chest. Oky Wan watched in horror as his best friend Jim fell to the ground. "Jim! NOOOOOO!" He gave the last mutant the finishing shot and started firing at Grievous. The others followed his example. Grievous dashed forward at them and started slicing and dicing the last few clones. Next, he swung towards Oky's direction, but thanks to his force-precognition powers, Oky was able to jump away before Grievous could hurt him too much. However, he wasn't fast enough, so he got a pretty deep cut into his stomach. Oky fell to the cold floor, crumbling in pain. It hurt so much that he could get back up, and so he was forced watch the droid general kill the rest of his friends. One minute later, the massacre was over. Grievous straightened up, put away his lightsabres, and joined his arms. Then, he left the room, coughing. There was silence. Deep, painful silence. Oky pulled out a shot of bacta and injected it into his wound. After the pain had decreased, he sat up straight. He looked around the room and saw all of his friends' corpses littering the floor. Tears filled his eyes. He could not believe this had happened. He dearly wished there was a way to reverse all of this. Of course, he was sitting in a room with a time machine, but without crystals to fuel it, there was no hope in getting it to work... If only he had one of those crystals... one of those crystals from the Utapau mines... Just one... That's when Oky remembered. He did have one of those crystals! He had taken one with him when they had walked through the mines! Feverishly, he reached into his pocket, and when he pulled it out, he was holding the greenish crystal in his hand! Happiness flooded his heart. It would not take him far back in time, but far enough. He got on his feet and started walking toward the time machine. In his head, he was constructing a plan. He collected an EMP grenade from Thok's belt on his way to the machine. He stepped up to the device, put the crystal into the fuel container, and set the coordinates. Then, he pulled the lever that Grievous had pulled just a few moments ago, and a new portal appeared in the center of the machine. Without wasting any of the single crystal's energy, He stepped into the portal... When he came out the other end, Oky Wan experienced a deja vu. In front of him, there was Grievous, fighting Jim, Adam, and Pr0, while the others were defending themselves against the droid army that entered the room. Adam, Thok, and Pr0 were amongst them, so they had apparently not followed JD into the portal yet, meaning that there were still energy crystals left. Nobody seemed to have noticed yet that Oky had come out of the machine. Now is my chance, Oky Wan thought, and yelled: "Hey Grievous! I have a surprise for you!" Grievous turned around and looked confused. Oky threw Thok's EMP right in front of the droid general's feet. As it went off, Grievous fell to the floor, unable to move. Jim and the others were happy to see that, but they were too confused to show it. Of course, Oky's past self was the most confused. "No time for explanations!" Oky told them. "Rex, I need your charges!" "Errr... Yes, Sir..." said Rex, still irritated, and handed Oky the charges. Oky Wan punched some coordinates into the time machine and walked up to the portal that appeared. "Oky... What are you doing?" asked Jim. Oky answered: "I'm making sure that this hellish device is never created!" With those words, he threw the pack of explosives into the portal, and as it disappeared, he hit the detonator. There was a massive explosion of bright light, and suddenly, it felt like they were all sucked into a different world. The next thing they knew was that they woke up in the place where their whole adventure started: The deserted industrial section of Coruscant. They were all there, but now there was only one Oky Wan and only one JD again. Oky looked at the time. It was mere hours before the time where he met Annix, Jim, and Thok for the first time. Jim came to his senses and said: "Oky... What did you do?" "I sent the charges back to the time and place where the time machine was first developed: the research facility on Hoth, at the time where Adam told us that there was a cosmic disturbance! I blew up the machine, and maybe even the facility, so the separatists never developed a time machine and we never went on a quest to destroy it! Everything has been reset - only this time there wont be any time machine." "But at this time, only you, me, and Thok were on Coruscant. Why are all the others here? And why do we remember what happened?" "I think it's because we were there when everything was reset. I bet MacK, Annix, Xela, and all the others who died during our mission are alive now, but they don't remember what happened because they were not with us anymore when we reset time." "Hm, that's a pity," said Jim, "but it's good to know they are OK." They all got up and complimented what Oky had done, and in return, he complimented and thanked everyone for their help in making this mission a success. When nobody had anything to say annymore, Wouwie said: "So... What do we do now?" So, pretty much nothing in the past 918 posts really happened. I hope that you liked this ending, and that I didn't disappoint. Pics will come soon! Please stay tuned for a final word from the creator of this magnificent game, JimButcher!

That's odd. I have my SBDs from the BP since a few months now. I have them set up in a diorama and have even played around with some of them a little, but they are still perfectly fine. They don't even have stress marks. I really hope they stay this way...
-
Erm... simonjedi? Could you change your post a little? As you can see from JD's post, the time travelers are already back, and there were no "thousands of separatists" that used the time machine. I don't even know what you are talking about. Also, it doesn't make sense that there are charges all of a sudden. We never had time set up any. But since it's all over now anyway, I will allow that.
-
OK, so, you were in the past/future, rescued present JD, and came back somehow, right? Or did the portal just bring the four of you directly to this point in time? Either way, I am going to post the finale now. If there is anything you want to tell us from your time travel adventure, you can do that afterwards. Everyone will have the chance to fill any plot holes after the end of the chapter. As for the next season: Nothing is decided yet, but I think we will try to keep it within the CW. However, there will be a poll where you can share ideas for the next season. Alright, are you guys ready for the big finale?
-
How many times do we have to say this? There is no Chapter 5! This is it - for now! After we end this chapter (which will happen very soon), there will be a large break, and after that, It will be a whole new season! So, hurry up with your time travel mission; we can't stall the end much longer!

Ooh! I hope this is true! That would be so awesome! The first Harry Potter game was nice, but not really fun. The idea of making one in the style of the new Lego games is fantastic! Also, just like the Indy and Batsy games, this would be a great way to end a beautiful theme like this! Agreed! Man, that would be awesome! There are more than enough locations and characters they could choose from. Every character would have his/her own special abilities, and there would also be characters with magic powers and some without, just like there are force sensitive and non-force sensitive characters in LSW! Likewise, magic would be used like the force during the game. There would be platforming levels (Hogwarts; Forbidden Forrest; London; Diagon Alley; the Burrow; Ministry of Magic; etc.) and flight levels (Quidditch practice; Weasley Car flight; Flight on Buckbeak; First Task of the Triwizard Tournament; etc.) just like in the other Lego titles. However, there are seven books, so if they want to keep their tradition of five levels per story, they would need to cram 35 levels into one game, and I don't know if they could/would do that. But if it's too much, they could split it up into two titles and make twice the money. And then there is the issue of the dark tone of the last few books. But I don't think we need to worry about that. They made five levels of Temple of Doom after all. In conclusion: I can very well see this happening, and I would really like a game like that!
-
FINE! I'll edit my post - again! Happy now? Btw, that's a hilarious vid, Wouwie! Thanks! Can we get back to the game please?
-
Hm, you're right. That was not intended. I'll change my post. After that, I hope everyone is happy with it.
-
They are everyone's clones. Everyone from the Republic that is. That explains a lot, 'cause Dutch pronunciation is always kinda weird, especially if you speak German. Oh well, whatever then. Now back to the Game please!
