I watched "Game Over for Owlman" yesterday. I almost missed it because it aired at 8:30 instead of the usual 8:00, but I noticed the change just in time to reset my TiVo. Anyway, I really like this episode! In fact, I think it's my favorite episode so far.The Joker, even though he still seems a bit strange to me, has almost grown on me, and I found myself enjoying him a lot! He is the funniest Joker I have ever seen. I laughed so hard at that bunny-ears-on-Batman's-shadow gag! Brilliant! The "Joker & Batsy's Good Times" montage was very nice too! I really wish we'll see more of him in this show. What I also liked was the alternate Batmen! Those guys were a stroke of genius! Each one of them seemed to be representing one of the Dark Knight's traits (strength, intelligence, bravery, cunning, bat-liness, etc.). My favorite was the Zorro-Batman. What I don't understand, though, is what that Batman with the little red eyes was supposed to be. At first, I thought, he was some kind of robot, but then he started flying and stuff. Anybody have an idea? Oh, I see. Yeah, I guess that would be possible. We'll see. Seconded! Tell me about it! But I think we're moving into the right direction again. I understand. However, I do not agree. The version of Legends of The Dark Knight in Gotham Knight was much better IMHO, mostly because the animation was much more realistic and because the stories were much cooler. The TNBA version only showed a cheesy 50's style version of Batman and some kind of weird Rambo/Resident Evil style Batman. As I mentioned before, I found those to be quite awkward. The GK version on the other hand showed three very interesting alterations of the Caped Crusader: A living shadow, a Man-Bat, and an android. How cool is that! But since you are such a comic fan, I can understand that you liked the 50's style Batman thing a lot. Btw, I just watched that TNBA episode, and the Joker & Batman looked almost exactly like they do in BTBTB! I wonder if Robin will look anything like he did in that episode should he ever make an appearance in BTBTB. But I hope not, since the shorts he was wearing were way too short. That's Anime for ya! I really dislike that type of limited animation too. Usually, that's almost the only thing anime characters do - chewing. That, combined with bad English dubbing, is my definition of Anime. I respect it as an art form, but that doesn't mean I need to like it. However, there are exceptions (such as Otomo's works), and Gotham Knight is definitely one of them. It's beautifully done while still remaining the Anime style. Aha. Interesting. I think I'm starting to understand now. Thanks for that lecture in Supermanology, Dr. Batbrick! And it seems like I'm stepping into your footsteps in becoming a DC fan, so I guess I will have that enlightenment soon myself. Don't forget Batman! But yeah, I don't need to know much about Superman to know that kryptonite is overrated. In fact, it's one of those facts that make me dislike Supes so much right now since it makes him seem even more invincible. But as I said, that will probably change as soon as I watch STAS. Speaking of STAS: I have watched the episode "Knight Time" on YouTube. I quite liked it! I'm looking forward to the next episode of BTBTB. I had never heard of Adam Strange before, but his character intrigued me when I watched The New Frontier, so I'm looking forward to learning more about him!

First of all, I must say that I am pretty excited for this movie! I was always intrigued by the post-apoc future of the Terminator universe and have been craving to see more than just a few battle scenes. I guess, this is what I've been waiting for - a whole movie about this post-apoc time! Sure, without Arnold, this film will have a hard time living up to the enjoyment level of the first three, but that doesn't mean that it wont be an enjoyable movie. Like Darth Sion suggested, this might turn out to be very similar to Transformers and consist mostly of pretty visual effects, but admittedly, that's good enough for me. The motorcylce-Terminators and that huge Terminator with a freaking cannon for a head look pretty damn sweet! I am not a big fan of Bale, but I guess that he could play the role well. It's going to be quite interesting to see how the cyborg Terminators came to be. That said, I am looking forward to this!

I really liked Innocents too! It had a very nice feel of a real war movie to it! This was partly due to the fact that the animation was much better than in any other episode, from the movements of the characters right down to the emotions on the little girl's face! Really excellent work. Also, my namesake utilized his force powers quite well! And the end was pretty funny, of course, where the Twi'leks beat the crap out of the droid while he screams "Does not compute!" and Obi covers the girl's eyes. I don't think so. I think she just meant that they were something special to her: a part of her family. Hell yeah! With Mace Windu as the protagonist, how could it not be! Yes! It looked very promising! For those who missed it, I uploaded it to my YouTube: Cad Bane Hostage Crisis Teaser My observations: - Bane kicks some serious Senate Commando butt! - Palpy is in that episode. Perhaps we will see the DS plans from the Venator set in this ep? - That chubby, blue-skinned senator from RotS makes his first appearance in this show. - Threepio is caught in the middle of the whole crisis. Poor droid. He does always get himself into trouble. Can't wait! No, I'm pretty sure he is on Ryloth. In both the Ryloth Trilogy Trailer and the opening sequence of Storm Over Ryloth, you can see a short scene of him talking to some droids in an environment very similar to that of Ryloth. Also, there is a close-up of him in the preview of Liberty of Ryloth with the same type of sky in the background. So, I think it's safe to assume that he is on that planet and will get his butt kicked by Windu in the next ep! Btw, if you ask me, he really needs to get a new vocabulator! That thing can never stay on the same frequency for ten seconds! I'm sorry, Sion, but I have to agree with ADHO15. Your usual posting manner is quite immature, so that it's hard to read and understand what you mean. So please don't be so lazy and put a little more afford into your posts. Thanks. Back on topic: Well, while I agree that some episodes are quite emotional, none of them really "touches me" if you know what I mean. In fact, even though I'm a pretty sensitive guy, the only scenes in a cartoon that I find truly touching are those found in classic Disney movies. Lion King death scene anyone? I agree. There are very few animated shows at the moment that come close to the quality of The Clone Wars, and I wouldn't be surprised if it wins an award or two for best animated TV show. However, I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's better than the movies. It's hard to compare a whole TV show with only six or seven movies anyway. Also, I still think that Tartakovsky's cartoon was better than this. It was much more innovative, had much more intense action, and much better character development - all that in a series that is only two hours long in total! A true masterpiece! Just my opinion.

Hold on, guys! Don't post anything for Chapter 2 yet! THere is an issue Jim and I still need to work out!
-
He did? I never noticed. Are you sure he didn't just force-push/pull it or something? But if you're right, that must be where they got the idea from. Geonosis It's OK. You almost got it right. Name one. Btw, why do you call it "youturd"? YouTube is man's best friend!

Well, that was because Anakin relates to Ahsoka so well. As Ahsoka has pointed out, they have a lot of traits in common, so Anakin knew he would have done the same and went easy on her. Besides, Obi kinda told him to go easy on her. Yeah, seriously! Well, personally, I don't really care for those CIS weirdos but I agree that Sidious is kinda overdue in this show. If I'm right, the DS plans in Palpy's hand in the Venator set are foreshadowing a rather interesting episode featuring him, so it could be that we will see Sidious in that ep too. The SW website states that it was based on a mechanical monocle... To be honest, I didn't find it all that distracting the first time I saw that episode. In fact, for the first half of the episode, I didn't even notice it was spinning. But now that you guys mentioned it, I can't get my eyes off of it. Thanks a lot! Well, I wouldn't say that they are cooler, but they definitely make more sense. I mean, why do most people in the SW universe settle for those small, mono-colored, unstable holograms if they can have giant, crisp, colored video? The answer could be that these TVs are only for short distance communication. The first time we saw it in action, the transmission came from the planet directly below, and the second time, it came from a Venator only a few miles away. Then again, if that's so, why did Tuuk talk to Tambor over hologram instead of the screen when he was on the planet just below him? Go figure. Well, they probably cost a lot, but the producers must figure that kids don't really care, and I suppose it's all for the better outcome of the episode. Yeah. Besides, if the Republic has the money to produce billions of clones and thousands of vehicles and ships, they probably wont mind replacing one Venator. Yeah, probably! I do that in videogames all the time. Dude! That's awesome! I feel very proud having a very similar name to Obi's right now. I didn't even know that there was a force-power like that! I mean, we all know about the infamous Jedi mind trick, but not that they can actually mind-control creatures without saying anything. That's really cool, but I'm guessing that this is one of the more controversial powers (forcing your will upon another being) which is probably why we haven't seen it before. Obi only uses it here as a last resort in order to save the clones. GO OBI WAN!
-
True. GO, ALFRED! Oh? Interesting. And thanks for the tip. Are you saying that in order to save the day, they will be forced to sing? As in "the power of music will defeat all evil" or some hippie junk like that? I hope not! Ah. Thanks, I'll look out for those. I know he will. I'm just wondering how. Agreed! Meh. It had it's moments. Those moments include Supes getting his butt kicked in a matter of seconds and Green Lantern and The Flash being the ones to save everyone's sorry behinds. (Batman is cool, but when it comes to true power, nothing can beat super-speed and all-powerful bling! ) However, was not one of those moments. Also, I had a hard time getting used to Bats' voice. I know. Oh well. I know that too, but I like Supes too little to care. Oops! Forgot to list that one! Yes, I know what you mean by "amazing segments". That scene where he walks out of the fire, looking all badass, was just cool! Which one is the dud IYO? Btw, I also forgot to list Superman: Doomsday. Yes, I admit, I watched a Superman movie but I did it because I wanted to see him getting his butt kicked and bite the dust! But I was disappointed since he didn't really die. It was pretty cool, though. At this point, I'd like to clarify my dislike for Superman. He is just too... perfect. I mean, he has all these super-duper powers and only one or two weaknesses. So as long as no Kryptonite or Lois are involved, he will always win a fight eventually. Where's the fun in that? Also, fighting is about the only thing he does (from what I've seen). It seems to me that he's all muscle and little brain, and that most of his enemies are much smarter than him. And I'm a guy who likes his heroes to be believable, but Super's powers are anything but believable, and the explaining these powers simply by saying that he's from a different planet doesn't do it for me. His name sounds corny too, if you think about it. But what annoys me most about him, though, is his secret identity. I mean, COME ON! The only thing that makes Clark look different from Supes are his glasses! I was so glad that Lois finally figured it out in Doomsday. But this is all just my opinion, and I guess that S:TAS could change my mind about that. Fine! If you insist, I'll ask my friend who has the first season to lend it to me and I'll watch it. Why do I have the feeling that you're just making all these "news" up? Would be nice if you could at least state your source. Anyway, that's good to hear. Also, that ep sounds interesting, and you're making an interesting prediction. What's gonna be the little guy's name? Red Breeze? Whew! Our posts keep getting longer! But I have to say that I enjoy our conversations. Hope the feeling is mutual.

I say "mok" because the process of creating a MOC is sometimes called "mocing", and that always sounds and looks like "mocking" (which is kinda funny if you think about it ). Therefore, I make the word "MOC" sound like "mock" too. Besides, it's shorter and easier to say this way.
-
Of course not! That's the whole point of them. Haven't you seen this pic? They are just as wide as a 1x1 brick so that they can fit next to each other. You would never be able to do that if they were as wide as normal minifig heads. No. The ring on top of the heads is a normal stud. Besides, I'm pretty sure these are one mold. As for using these as babies: I, too, can imagine TLC releasing these as babies in, say, a new Suburbs subtheme to City. They are already moving toward more civilian oriented City sets with the RV and the Civilian "Battle" Pack. And even if TLC doesn't release any microfig with a baby print, we can still use the mini-mummies as wrapped babies.

Wandering up to Beat you to it, Hinck! (Yes, I despise spelling mistakes as much as you do! )

Dude, that cookie cutter is awesome! Great idea; I never thought about that! But it looks like it only makes cookies in the size of 2x2 plates. Isn't that a bit small for a cookie? Would be cool if they would now make a special offer for buying the cookie cutter and cookie jar together. I want some brick-cookies now.

I just realized something. Clawdette and the Witch can't be the same person since Clawdette has a robotic arm and the witch doesn't. Unless she exchanged it for a prosthetic (wooden?) arm that looks so realistic that you can't tell the difference on the minifig. So, either she is Clawdette's great, great, great, (...) grandmother, or as you suggested, they are not related at all. But I don't think that that's the case; there must be some connection... Meditate on this, I will. Btw, I think the theory about Inferno being Ogel's son and carrying on his work would also make sense because Agents seems to be set a little further in the future than Alpha Team. The weapons and technology are more advanced. This wouldn't make as much sense in the case of the Agents timeline replacing the Alpha Team timeline since both stories would be set in the same point in time, but the technology would still be more advanced in one of them. But then again, that could just be another result of Ogel tempering with time. Wow. This is getting confusing. True. Yeah, I guess I can see how this could be funny. If someone wants to do it, go ahead, but as Shoc said, not in this topic. What "plane challenge"?
-
Well, I'm not quite sure what's supposed to be so "amazing" about them, but yeah, they are rather cute little buggers. I wonder what game they are from. Somehow they don't seem to be from that Egypt game. They kinda look like Knights. The yellow one does anyway. Castle-themed board game anyone?
-
Well, I guess you're right. Let's just say I don't like him. Lol... "angsty emo loner"... Nope. And never will. I like Superman about as much as Aquaman. Don't ask me why. Word! Too bad they canceled it. It really annoyed me that they never finished that story about Terra reappearing. Being a big-time Disney fan and having enjoyed many musicals like the ones by Andrew Lloyd Webber, I completely agree with you! As long as they do it right, I have no problem with it. The idea of a Batman musical just seems strange, but as I said, this show has already managed to be both strange and good at the same time in several occasions, so I'm not too worried. Really? When? Meh. I'm not a big fan of The Demon, and since this plays in the 19th century, it could be that Batsy wont even appear in this ep. Then again, he does time-travel a lot in this show. We'll see. *Looks up "innuendo" in the dictionary* Well, it depends on what your definition of dirty is in this case. To me, it sounded as if there would be more violence in that episode than in others, which would be a good thing (IMO at least). However, you might be right that the dirtiness could be verbal which, as you suggested, might not be so nice. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Besides, what's wrong with innuendos? They are partly what made relatively popular shows like Spongebob or Ren & Stimpy so great. And aren't Batman's thought-monologues in this show full of innuendos? For example, when he said/thought "I thought they'd never leave!" after Aquaman and The Atom disappeared into his body? Or do I still not fully understand the meaning of this word? Btw, I have unfortunately not seen any of the JL shows either. I'm just starting to get into the DCAU, and the only things I've seen so far is the complete BTAS series (including The New Batman Adventures), most of TT, a couple of The Batman episodes (including the season finales about The Joining), and the first two seasons of BB. That, plus the movies Phantasm, Batwoman, Batman VS. Dracula, Return of the Joker, TT: Trouble in Tokyo, JL: The New Frontier, and The Justice League Movie. And BTBTB of course. The third (and last) season of BB is next on my to-watch list, and after that, I might give The Batman a second try. Also, I still need to see "The Batman/Superman Movie". Is it any good? (I know it must be some good as it features Mark Hamill Joker! ) Any other recommendations?
-
Yes! This look much better now! Somehow, I still think it could use some details on the roof, but that's just me, and I'm just being nit-picky. Good job!
-
This is the LEGO News & General Discussion forum. Why would you expect to find a comic here? And what do you mean by "jackass minifig test"? Does this have something to do with that dumb TV show?
-
Agreed! This is a very nice MOC! Excellent figs, and great building techniques! "Look, Sir, Droids Rebels!"
-
Hm... Are you implying that she is the which that Ogel marries? That would be kinda messed up, since in the case of my theory, this would mean that this is one of those weird stories where she makes herself her own grandmother. But it's a possibility, I guess. In the case of lordofdragonss' theory, maybe Inferno sent her back to retrieve his father, but she fell in love with Ogel and decided to stay in the past with him instead. Then one of the mods should perhaps rename the topic to "Ogel Discussion Thread". Awesome! Can't wait! Well, this is not what this topic is (supposed to be) about anyway. It's about there not being any deaths in the storylines provided by TLC. This reminds me that death is usually something introduced at the end of a story. TLC's storylines are usually only the beginning of the story of a theme. They are just meant to spark the imagination of the player and it is up to the player to end the story. This way, he/she is also in charge of the decision if there is going to be deaths in the story or not.
-
Huh? What do you mean? Maybe. But it's more likely IMO that he is Ogel's great, great, great, (...) nephew. Ogel probably married that witch from the Advent Calendar/Giant Chess Set and they had kids, etc. And Claw-dette is probably Inferno's sister/cousin! She has quite a resemblance to her great, great, great, (...) grandmother. (same head!) Nah. Even if you're right about him being his son, I don't think so. He's too busy trying to take over the world himself. So... When do we get back on topic? EDIT: Noobish remark: 1500th post!!! YAY! Sorry, couldn't resist.
-
You just couldn't wait for the game to start again, could you? Nice MOC, but I would work on it a little bit until chapter 2 starts. It looks unfinished, especially the interior. Also, what the heck is that red block of bricks supposed to be? And I would take those rebel pilots out of there. It doesn't make any sense for them to be there (in the CW). Unless they are some sort of result of that whole time paradox from the last season. But we leaders still get to start the new chapter.
-
Why do you expect bounty hunters like them to "chop" clones? Bounty hunters shoot, don't chop. If anything, that's Grievous' job. And yes, I hope we see some more of that too!
-
Speed Racer is not a good example here since, as you say, they did release the sets before the movie came out. I am talking about the possibility of Avatar sets being released after the movie comes out. To answer your question: Seeing how well their own Racers line went, TLG thought that a Speed Racer licensed theme would do well, no matter how bad the movie turns out. And I think they were only half-wrong with that. I think the smaller sets sold relatively well. That was over two years ago, though. I don't think that the Avatar movie was even official by then. It could have just been a planned second wave that never ended up being released. Just being realistic.
-
Yeah, probably some nerdy accountant or something. I'm guessing there is a universe for that too. He's an egoistic bird-brain whose best power is it to make animals do the dirty work for him. And he is pretty much powerless on land. What kind of a hero is that! At least this version of Aquaman seems to have some muscles, so in the worst case scenario, he can use his fists to fight. But he's still pretty lame IMO. Hm... I have not heard of this "Batmite" before. I just read the wiki-article about him, and he kinda reminds me of Larry from the Teen Titans episode "Fractured". That episode was weird and kinda stupid, so I'm kinda skeptic about Batmite. But since BTBTB is a little more sophisticated than TT, I hope it'll be an enjoyable ep. Not that TT was a bad show, of course. Sure, it had some strange episodes from time to time, but some of the episodes were really good, like that season finale with the Brotherhood of Evil! WTF!?! OK, I'm sorry, but this is just getting worse for me! Again, I have faith in BTBTB being a good show, but a musical is kinda pushing it. We'll see. Now that's more like it! The Blue Beetle is a pretty cool character, and the idea of "dirty" episode with him sounds pretty good to me! Can't wait!

I think this should be posted in the movie trailer thread. Anyway, I am kinda looking forward to this since it looks good and I liked all the previous installments. However, I am aftaid it will be a bit over-the-top when I see Vin Diesel drive under a jumping, flaming truck and surviving it with barely a scratch to his car. Here you can see the theatrical trailer and pics of the stars & cars of this film.
