  1. I think many of you need to calm down a bit. How can you feel so negative about sets you haven't even seen yet? I think we can rest assured that they will not be anything like Galidor. Not only because front said so or because Ben 10 toys with snap-on limbs already exist, but also because TLC has proven to learn from its past mistakes. Keep in mind that Lego is a child's toy. Only because YOU don't like Ben 10 it's NOT a bad license. Ben 10 is popular with the kids, so why shouldn't TLC sell sets of it? It looks like the Spongebob license has come to an end, and there are not many iconic vehicles/locations left that they can release in the Indy theme, so the only licenses next year will be Star Wars, Disney, and Ben 10, which means there will still be plenty of space for other themes. Therefore, I advise you to think positive. At the very least, this might give use some interesting new parts. @ computerbug & Mr. Mandalorian: Of course it would be great to get a Lego Rustbucket and figures of the aliens from the original Ben 10 show, but unfortunately the sets will be based on the current show, so I don't think we will get those.
  2. This is great news to me. I like Ben 10, even though the new show, Ben 10 Alien Force, isn't as entertaining as the original to me. Ben 10 is almost as popular with young boys as the Clone Wars, so it was a no-brainer for Lego to pick up this license. There are not many sets that I can see coming from this since Ben and his friends always travel around so that there are not many iconic vehicles or locations in the show, but I'm sure TLG can think of some good sets, just like they will with Toy Story. One thing is for sure though: They will definitely make a set of the most iconic vehicle of the show, Kevin's car: And who wouldn't want that! (I can already see the hood popping up to reveal flick-fire missiles! ) Good point. Most of the aliens are twice as tall as Ben, so it's likely that they will be new molds. I guess we'll have to wait and let TLG surprise us, just like with Toy Story. You might be right about that one. Lego Space themes always had trouble co-existing with Star Wars, and now this could mean double the trouble for Lego Space. But then again, Ben 10 alien Force is mostly set on present-day Earth, so there are not many futuristic vehicles that could rival those of SP3.
  3. Awesome! I can hardly wait for this! The trailer is hilarious and baby Harry looks so cute! And years 1-4 are my favorite years! This is gonna be so much fun! As for the renewal of the License: Well, it would be wonderful of course, but look at what happened with Batman. Although the game was fairly popular, TLC didn't even bother to keep the sets that were being sold at the time in production and ended the line. And besides that, there is also still the issue of the tone of the last few movies being "too dark" for TLC make sets of. But I'm an optimistic guy, so here's hoping they will give us some more sets!
  4. Well, since this thread has been revived (although for quite hateful reasons ), let me take the chance to ask everyone: How are you liking the "decoded" episodes? I think they are alright. Sometimes they point out rather obvious things, which is annoying, but at other times, they give you interesting EU facts and other behind-the-scenes type info, which is good. I'm not so crazy about the comments of the characters that "host" the episodes, although some of them are funny sometimes. For example, it was interesting that they had Grievous hosting Destroy Malevolence and have him try to clear his name. Of course he has all right to blame the idiocy of the BDs for the fate of the Malevolence, but it was partly his fault too since he knew exactly that the BDs are good for nothing and let them fight Obi Wan instead of facing him himself anyway, which he admitted. On a side note, it still pisses me off how unspectacular this episode ended up being in comparison with what it could have been. I mean, come on, they could have had Plo Koon fighting Grievous in space for pete's sake! Stupid Network! Oh well. Btw, has anyone noticed that when Anakin, Ahsoka, and Secura infiltrate the Separatist base in Defenders of Peace, in one scene, Ahsoka's lightsaber blade clearly casts a shadow? That makes no sense at all! Oh well. Any news on the second season?
  5. Maybe they'll have a big Buzz Lightyear figure with lots of play features, kinda like they had the Build-a-Bob! That would be freakin awesome, and the new large dome piece from Robo Attack would be very well suited for Buzz' helmet! Thanks for the trailer btw. It's nice to finally see Lego in Toy Story. Interesting that they released it already, considering that they didn't give us any trailer for their last movie, UP, until only a few months before its release. But who's complaining.
  6. Thanks for the links! Finally some pics that you can zoom into! The more I look at it, the more it becomes clear to me: Hyperspeed Pursuit is an absolute must-buy! The Enforcer doesn't look too shabby either but I still wont get it because of its price. Are those pieces around the engines new? They kinda look like Belville-sized diving flippers.
  7. Sorry. Guess I got carried away a little. I'm usually not the type to start such discussions. Anyway, now that it's officially available, hopefully we'll see a review of Hyperspeed Pursuit soon!
  8. Funny. Wasn't the UK initially supposed to be the one not to get the SP3 sets? How come the US is always worse off when it comes to Lego lately?
  9. Just saw "UP". It's a very nice movie with the original storytelling and quality animation that we came to expect from PIXAR. It does have some slow and depressing scenes (perhaps more than a cartoon should have) but not as many as WALL-E, so most of it is still a lot of fun! And the animated short film that runs before it is very funny too! So go watch it!
  10. Cool topic! Here's what I can think of right now: Games: Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Videogame Lego Harry Potter: The Videogame Jak 4 and other Jak games SW Battlefront 3 Mirrors Edge 2 Ratchet & Clank sequels and spin-offs A new Podracing game SW Rogue Squadron IV Worms: Open Warfare 3 Movies: Anything made by Pixar Iron Man sequels The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn (coming 2011) and sequels (if it's good) The Avengers (coming 2012) The Flash T5 Jak/Ratchet & Clank: The Movie Halo: The Movie Batman VS. Superman X-Men Origins: Deadpool (confirmed!) A Pirates of the Carribean sequel that doesn't suck! LEGO: The Movie! Books: Uhm... Anything by J.K. Rowling or Timothy Zahn.
  11. Not sure if it would work, but you could try using this technique to get two arms to hold on a minifig. But what is the technique exactly? Cutting extra holes into a torso? I think Arthas is looking for a purist solution.
  12. Do we know for sure that the impulse sets will be released in the US? Even though they are available in Europe, they can't be found over here to date. But maybe they'll come out together with the large sets here?
  13. Interesting premise. It's like a combination of Independence Day, Terminator, and The Fith Element! I'll join, in the hope that this will do better than the SWCG. I might either be a robot who was reprogrammed to be on the side of the humans or a cyborg. I'll give it some more thought as soon as this gets going (if it ever does). Just one question: How does the "No main characters"-rule apply to this? We don't even know any main characters yet! Do you mean, like, the leader(s) of the aliens and that/those of the robots and such? I agree with Jim. It's much better if you do most of the pic-posting and just let everyone else volunteer for it instead of trying to force them to do the pic-posting themselves. That unfortunately never really worked at all in the SWCG.
  14. Now this is a pretty good impulse set! 18 pieces is an acceptable amount for its price, and K-9 seems very well designed! It even gives you rare pieces like the white droid bodies and arms. I'll be sure to pick up a couple of these as soon as I find them. Thanks again for the review.
  15. Is it just me or is this a really bad excuse for an impulse set? Thirteen pieces plus a minifig is a laughable amount of Lego that you get for $3.50! I could see past that if the set was at least well designed, but it looks like a young kid designed it. It was really cheap of them not to include the visor for the helmet IMO, and the way the flame comes out of the blue pin is jst hideous! The fig included isn't all that interesting either IMO. Not very reusable. I might still get it just because it's cheap and provides a black telescope (can never have enough of those), but this is a pretty poor set. Thanks for the great review, though!
  16. I have four because I have two of the old speederbikes set. Hopefully there will be a BP with them next year, along with one with Endor Rebels!
  17. Looks very good. I like all the little bits on the maintenance bridge thingy. Your two new villains, Lucky & Dice, are great too! But what is that little house above the door? Some more pics of that would be nice. Vertea makes some good points. Something that would help the baddies to get in and out of the truck would be a good addition. And I remember you saying in the old thread that this is supposed to be an indoor hangar now, but it still looks very much like an outdoor one. It would be very good if you would add a wall in the back and another one on the right side (opposite side of the rocks) and some big sliding hangar doors in the front. The doors could simply be large plates that are placed at a right angle, and the walls don't have to be all solid if you don't have enough bricks; it would be fine if they look like the walls in . A black & red color scheme would be best for this. In the end, you could add some turrets on top of the walls, like Vertea said. After you make those changes, we can talk about details. PS: If your dad is a professional photographer, why are some of the pics so fuzzy?
  18. I like all of these a lot, especially the plant goon and Freeze, even though he doesn't look a lot like his cartoon counterpart: He should look more sci-fi than medieval. I assume his head jar is easily removable like in the series? Did you cut a hole in that round piece or did you just put the armor higher so that you could put the jar on top of it? Keep up the good work.

    Pirate Barge

Nice work. It really looks like a Pirate ship while essentially still looking like Jabba's Barge. Funny scene too! But I would remove the top sails because Jabba's Barge only has two sails. Also, the addition of some of the parts from Shipwreck Hideout (like the steering wheel) would improve the MOC quite a bit as well.
  20. Yeah, but the SP are wearing hard armor, not jumpsuits like the Agents.
  21. Looks nice! You successfully convey a Indy/Adventures feel with this MOC. The only thing I would change is to have the engines face the other way. The speederbike is neat too, especially the greebling in the back, although the front looks kinda weird. But are you even allowed to have two vehicles in one entry?
  22. Thanks! You can download an LDD model of the Mini Fortitude and/or buy it here. Btw, Jim, could you please add those minis, the above link, and the other pics from the finale to the index? That would be great! PS: I'm also very glad that you liked the finale, simonjedi. I was afraid you'd start bitching about the problem being resolved by time travel again.
  23. Wow! That is insanely awesome! Such a great deal, especially for the Wrecker! I wish I would have seen this earlier! Wow! Lucky! Can't wait for the reviews!
  24. Thanks, JD! Glad you like it. If you want one, you can simply get the Space Skulls set and build your own. A note to KimT: Sorry, but I forgot that I had to type "Invasion Contest Entry" in the sub-title. Could you please exchange it with the "BEWARE!"? Thanks. Also, please let me know if any of the pics are too large.
  25. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... The Space Skulls got tired of getting their butts kicked by Star Justice, so they set out to find a different galaxy to take over. After a long travel, they found a very large galaxy full of many different vehicles, minifigs, and locations - the Lego Star Wars galaxy! So, they decided to invade it! But in order to match the awesomeness of the Star Wars vehicles, they had to adapt. And so, they created this: The All Terrain Skull Terrorizer (AT-ST for short)! This beast of a war machine is mostly made up of parts from the Space Skulls set for authenticity! Front - "Say Aaah." Left Side - As you can see here, the front laser cannons can be tilted 90 degrees down. Back - This is where it carries its fuel cells. Right Side - The side with the big missile! Just like the missile launcher on the left side of the vehicle, this one can turn 360 degrees. Top - The "head" can turn about 40 degrees to each side! The top can be easily removed to look inside where the Space Skulls commander sits at the controls! But here is the best part: The teeth glow in the dark, and when you put a light brick on the ceiling like this... ... then you will see a scarry glowing face in the darkness! More pics in this Brickshelf folder. I hope you like it and feel intimidated! :skull: Comments and criticism are welcome! :skull: THE INVASION HAS BEGUN! :skull:
