I don't see no robot, and the one alien still looks like an orange skull twin to me, but I guess all these mysteries will be solved in due time (i.e. Toy Fair). Until we get some better pics, feast your eyes on this Behind The Bricks look at the SP animations: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">I always start drooling when I see footage of of the Lego model shops! I wonder if he can keep the bricks he got from there. If so, I would have come out of there with all the boxes I could carry. What I really want to know though is how the heck this guy got the honor of doing these animations for Lego?! (Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but I really would have wanted to do it. )

Nice work. The pics aren't the best, but I know that it's hard to photograph mostly black objects, and from what I can see, it's quite a sturdy little craft. I like the little details like the spikes on the crane. Interesting backstory too. As for names... How about John, Bob, and Steve?

@ Roncanator & CommanderFox: Thanks. @ Admiral Woodhouse: Sorry, but I'm not really impressed with your entries. The armory looks very empty and the turbolaser is just too colorful. Try to improve them, and they can become great entries. @ Ratshot: Well done. Did you have an actual WWII radar room as reference? If so, can you share the pic with us? @ Eskallon: Good work. Being a big fan of Battlefront, it was instantly recognizable to me that this room was based on the games. That working door is great too. The only things that would have made it better are gunner clones and some transparent 2x2 round bricks coming out of the generator thing in the middle. Btw, I have some suggestions for the build: Why don't we call it EBSWCB instead of EBCSWB? It just makes more sense to me. Why don't we turn the list of rooms into an index by adding a link to each room that leads you to the post with the MOC of the room in it? Why don't we make it a rule to provide a top view? This way we could put all the top views together in one picture in the way that all the rooms are supposed to connect to each other an thereby recreate the map of the Venator.

It's a new year, the most recent contest has ended, and it's time to turn our attention back onto this community build. Therefore, I have posted my first entry, the Battle Strategy Room. C&C welcome. In case you haven't been able to figure out how I made the table, I bent a flex tube into a ring and attached clip-plates onto it. The droid repair bay will follow soon. Looking forward to everyone else's entries.

My first entry: The Battle Strategy Room This room is based on a room from the Clone Wars TV show which is behind the bridge. My version is a little smaller and located on the 2nd Floor. Click here to see a reference pic. Credit to def for that pic. As you can see here, the umbrella thingy can easily be removed A straight-on view where we can see Obi Wan, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Rex engaged in a briefing while a clone is reading a map in the background: A view through the door on the left: Some three-quarter views without the figs and umbrella thingy: Top view: And here are some views of the Back, Left, and Right side. The room without the map screen (which I had to improvise since I don't have the ones Ratshot used in his Radar Room): Hi-res versions of the pics can be found in this brickshelf folder.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys. You still do. You have an excellent entry. Size matters not, remember? Thanks. I wanted the seat to be green, but this was the only green seat I had. Plus I thought it would add variety to the color scheme.

Not bad, Tereglith, not bad at all. But you're right, it does look a bit too much like a conventional ship. Plus the sails remind a bit of a circus tent (No offense). The skullface-ramp still feels very been-there-done-that to me, but fine. The Rebel flyer also looks a bit too much like something from Agents. I want it to be a rowboat with (flapping) wings and one or two propellers in the back - a cheap little add-on like the row-boat in BB's Bounty. I'll try to mix your and CB's ideas into one and see what comes out of it. Btw, looking at some current sets and the World Racers prelims, it seems that TLC incorporates more and more Bionicle weapons into System sets. So, which do you think would be good for the fortress? I'm thinking either the bazooka-type ones or the crossbow-type ones. With some tubes and brown bits attached to them, they could look like pretty cool steampunk weapon And that's why it was that much more awesome than Power Miners (and PM is already pretty awesome ). Anyway, nice to have you on the team. And it's nice to see you again too, zouave. I'd be interested to see that animation, so if you have a link or something, please PM it to me!

So you will go with my suggestion after all? *does victory dance* Well, since you already have the BPs, you can either get a second batch or get another 7749, considering the Wampa Attack is Tauntaun-less. Definitely the BPs. Not only do they have a better value, they also will probably be discontinued soon, so grab 'em while you can.
-
Well, the Tri-Fighter has the best price-to-parts ratio out of the four. I agree that the Swamp Speeder is a neat set though. It depends whether you like OT or PT better and if you're interested in minifigs or the sets. Well, I always prefer getting a set rather than money, but then again, you could get more money than the flagship is worth, so you'd be better off, especially if you can snatch some good deals on brickfair. I don't know how it is with deals at brickfair, so I can't judge that. You again? And what happened to your green writing? Anyway, I'd save the money for Wampa attack and the BPs. You get more and better figs this way, and you can always mod the wampa cave into the Echo Base door.

Hm... I do like the sound of a UCS Imp. shuttle, even though I wouldn't buy it. Strange, I mean, wouldn't that make more sense for the ROTJ anniversary? Oh well. 8099 is the Midi-ISD, right? So does this mean it's a walmart exclusive? Bane's speeder excites me the most. I like speeders in general, and I definitely wouldn't mind a second Bane fig. *crosses fingers for commando droids* I know Aura Sing isn't in the speeder, but it would be amazing if she were in the set!

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
Oky replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
You know, the design of that ship is based on concept art for the imperial shuttle. I was pleasantly surprised to see this because I have a small Micro Machines model of it from back when I was a kid. And yes, Aadi was good. She seems like a smart Jedi. -
Very nerdy interesting topic. I get the building craves a lot, especially when I get toward the end of a quarter at college and haven't really built anything for about two months because I don't have time to! At that point, I start buying some new sets to keep me satisfied, and usually it works. And when the finals are finally over, I start building like crazy, but since I am a perfectionist, the quality of my MOCs never suffers under this building craze, or at least not too much. Fortunately, I have never encountered any of the three other phases, or at least not in an extreme way. I always have lots of inspiration for MOCs from all the cartoons I watch and from all the great creations of fellow AFOLs I see here on EB, and I have a pretty good amount of bricks, so I never have a problem with that. Of course there is the occasional builder's block (not "building block" ) when I get stuck in a somewhat complex construction, but then I try several techniques and find a solution, and that's just always part of the building process anyway. @ Legolas: Why don't you just take one of your old SW sets and motorize it? Perhaps we should have a "I have a building slump/block and need help!" thread for people like Legolas to get their inspiration.

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
Oky replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The new episodes were good, but not great. I expected more from Grievous. I think they should have stuck to the original script and have Koth die. This way Grievous would have officially killed a jedi master and would finally have gotten the reputation he deserves. But no, all he did AGAIN is to run away. Plus there's that bit with him cutting through an electro staff... The commando droids are as badass as ever though, and I want them as minifigs more than ever. "The Deserter" wasn't bad, but kind of boring. It had the same idea as Hidden Enemy, but it didn't have the action and suspense. Btw, Hidden Enemy is what I would show your dad, simon. It has a great story and character development, shows the characteristics of the individual clones, and serves as a prequel to the CW movie which your dad has seen, so he will know what's going on. -
That was Mr. Potatohead's bowler he was wearing in that scene, but although I'd love to finally get a Lego bowler, I don't think this is one. Not only does that scene in TS2 have nothing to do with this train from TS3, but it looks like a normal old conductor's hat to me. All sets (including Zurg!) are now available on S@H. Still no update on the mini-site though. Nice pic, smokebelch. Very funny! Poor Buzz must be so confused right now.

Nice MOCs. I too have thought about making some MOCs for the Arny Men. I love the tank and machine gun. But the machine gun is the only one that seems like a real Army Men MOC because it's the only one that's all green. Try to find green solutions for the grey bits here, and the Mocs will be perfect. And yes, the "Dynamite Bomber" does remind of Combat Carl.

Plus there is already a topic like this, but with a poll.

Thanks lego-maniac. Yes, it is pretty big. I wonder why no one else had the idea to make their landspeeder in a scale other than minifig scale. Oh well.

Hello there. I have just finished my entry for this marvelous contest and I must say I am quite happy with how it turned out. It's a UCS model of Santa's Landspeeder, the Snowflake I. The jolly old man uses this craft to deliver presents to the good children of the Star Wars universe. It features the latest in present delivery technology, comfortable seats for both Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and an elf-operated gift cannon. Here's a top view which shows this vehicle's sleek, aerodynamic shape and snowflake decal. And here's a side view showcasing the side greebles. A back view where you can see the engine's exhaust ports and the custom license plate. Close-up of the gift cannon where an elf sits and shoots presents into the houses. It turns 360 degrees and can tilt up. The presents are fed to the cannon from inside the landspeeder. The design was inspired by the Phinneas & Ferb Christmas Special. Click here to view a reference pic. Hope you like it. Sorry that the pics aren't up to my usual standard. I took them late at night. You can find more hi-res pics in this brickshelf folder. Merry (late) Christmas and a happy new year!

I was thinking the same thing. In fact, it's a big honkin' space cruiser which would stand out among civilian vehicles quite a bit. I guess we'll have to wait for the S@H description to find out why it has that name.

Thanks, Bonaparte, I'm honored. I'll definitely consider joining the Academy. Thanks to everyone else for the kind comments as well! It's funny how I always get such good responses to my reviews without having passed the academy. It's like I'm a reviewer without a license.
-
No, but that doesn't mean that everyone comes here to rant about it. If you don't like licensed themes, you should stay out of the Licensed forum because you're not going to make any friends that way. Just a friendly advice.

The only Lego I got was the Pirate Code game. Better than nothing, but considering I was expecting a Death Star or at least an AT-OT, it was pretty disappointing. The good news is that I got $300 instead, so I can spend those on the 2010 sets. I also got WALL-E in Blu-Ray, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, a $25 iTunes gift card, some comic books by Don Rosa, and a car cleaning kit. The latter came from my dad's car-loving colleague and was part of a raffle.
-
Uhm... There already is an EU subtheme. In fact, at least one of the sets coming out in early 2010, the TIE Defender, is EU. There already is a thread for expressing wishes for Future Star Wars sets too. It's right below this topic.
-
Thanks for the info, Alywin! I wouldn't be surprised if these turn out true, considering 3 is an odd number of sets for a summer release. 7598 is probably the scene from TS2 where Buzz, Ham, Rex, Slinky, and Mr. Potatohead follow Al to the airport, so if there is any chance we get a Potatohead fig this year, this is it, but I'm not holding my breath. And 7599 is probably from a scene from TS3 which follows right after the recently released clip where I just wonder why we have seen pics of the previously known sets, but not of these...

I'm assuming it's the end too. I mean, they already captured the big bad lava monster that's causing all the earthquakes, and they're at the FREAKIN CENTER OF THE EARTH! Not much further you can dig there. And PM has got to make way for all the new themes including world racers.
