You put Bombur instead of Dori in the last pic. But thanks for the images.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Ardelon replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Dwarf females dont necessarily have to follow Tolkien or PJ versions. I myself would take a female dwarf! Even i she came with a beard, I would simply remove it and use it on a male (assuming it would have bows or somesuch in it). The lipstick, I see it as rather unnecessary, but still the number one way to distinguish between male and female minifigs. I myself would be content with the eyelashes as the sole distinguishing mark. For that matter, lipstick is meant to represent the ideal of full and red female lips, so what if the "lipstick" is just that - naturally feminine lips? I never assumed the Islander princess wore lipstick, I just thought she had full lips, and maybe thats whats going on with todays female figs (except for strange colors like the CMF space heroine). -

Emmet sounds like a good idea. I could also imagine Laval or Kai/Zane/Lloyd - recognizable protagonists of TLGs big media properties. And maybe the duplo bunny o whatever is it supposed to be. -

These all look great! (except for the Cyclops with lipstick...). I epecially like that its so heavy in historical figs - I thought S12 had a lot of them, and S13 would be more city oriented So, the Samurai is the 5th female (unless the fencer is too, and the number of females per series has gone up to six). -
So I offer my congratulations to NujuMetru as well. Hope is kindled!

This set looks just as good as it did from the unofficial pics. The backstory is pretty cute - thouh a bit beyond the romance narrative mentioned a while back .

Thanks for that pic, I do like Ori better with that beard piece.

Wow, this is a fantiastic project! I dont mind at all that its not gray, MT from the movies wasnt snow-white either. Its instantly recognizable by the shape and proportions, which are even to minifig scale... mindblown! If I were to change anything, it would be to modify the front of the cliff so it isnt so geometrically straight.

Great peek at the new molds! The handsaw is great. Im pretty sure the headdress is for the Egyptian warrior, and I expected a new pith helmet mold with female hair (but now we need the same helmet for males!). Im surprised by the fencing helmet, I assumed it would have a solid grey front, somthing like the welders mask. The Cyclops headpiece looks like it could also be used for a male. I wonder if the eyelashes on the Cyclops head will be visible under the headpiece. On the old Cyclops, it looks as if only the yellow of the eye is visible under the headpiece. If this were the case, it wouldnt even be possible to tell from the head if the new Cyclops is female (of course I expect a feminine torso). So we still dont know what the ninja-esque headgear is for. Hmm. Kind of like the robo-shark mystery. I wonder if these leaks will influence TLG to show us the final images early. -
Lets not forget that the appendices revealed that Dain wielded a red axe in the battle with Azog... Pretty relevant for the LEGO Dain. I believe it was chalked up to the influence of his dwarf-ring... I honestly expected that to be a bigger plot point in these movies, seeing as they take quite a bit from the appendices and they are meant to tie in to LotR. In The Hobbit movies, he is. And thats what counts.

I would be pretty disappointed in a fleshie non-licensed Castle theme. I have a better solution: switch the yellow heads & hands for fleshie ones. Of course I could do the same with any fleshie Castle figs, but that wouldnt mean a reversal of TLGs policy.
-
I was thinking that Ori could use the Wiley Fusebot beard piece.
-
Im all for a Scooby Doo theme. Though Im not a fan of the Be Cool designs, Ill take all the Scooby I can get, TV or LEGO. The only downside would be fleshie figs. But an in-house theme also sounds interesting, though Im afraid Monster Fighters will be hard to top. I, at least liked it for the historical angle as much as the horror angle; not a fan of robo-sharks if they indeed belong here.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Ardelon replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I like this modular a lot, precisely because its more city-scale, and because its "busy". And I like the originality of the concept. The details (pool table, ceiling fan, armchair) look very good. And like many, Im blown away by the use of the bionicle fists and the unikitty tails. Yes, the blue building is a bit garish and narrow, but those arent big issues. Its strange the staircase isnt separated from the barbershop (not enough room maybe?), but its nothing a small mod cant fix. The floor dedicated to the bathroom stall is the weirdest. But in all, I like the way the modular line is going. Is the newspaper a new print? -
Yeah, I assumed the catalog was only for the first half-year. If so, there is still hope, if not, then bummer...

I havent bought a big lego set in quite a while so I only have a couple of the old grey separators. They do their job well, but I wouldnt mind seeing them included in smaller sets. At the very least, they make for some interesting MOCs, as seen in this thread...

Well, Castle tends to be a summer release, so I would expect news sometime in the spring. Its way too early to say now...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Ardelon replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So now we know the Goblin will be olive green. Good fit for Moria Orcs, bad for fantasy "Trolls". Hot dog guy is funny. I wonder whether he will still be a vendor, or what accessories will he have, if any. It is also interesting to get two suit-people in a series - it throws one pattern of the CM Series out the window. Not that thrilled about the possible trooper helmet, it depends what the fig will look like. -
Great MOC. The tent is very well thought out (an inside look would be nice!). I like the landscape as well. But I would use the short bow for the Tatars, as these Asian nomads used short recurved bows instead of longbows...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Ardelon replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I assume the gnome beard, and a crown+hair mold. Im not as thrilled about the new crown as some, as I find it more limiting than the old piece - limited to brown-haired characters. -
Color me intrigued by a TBBT set. I dont know about the latest seasons as Ive only seen the first two, but it doesnt seem disparaging nor inappropriate. Im especially interested in any accessories we might get.

Its difficult to say which sets this wave could have included, without first having seen the film. But I guess an army-builder type set with generic good guy soldiers (mainly an Iron Hill Dwarf or two) would have been most welcome. Apart from that, the gates of Erebor stand out in my mind as being set-worthy, in the style of the Fantasy dwarf mine or the Lone Ranger silver mine. And maybe the dwarvish battle chariot...
