Thank you. I worked hard to spread out the design, and as well as not build everything at right angles to each other. And the stage was probably one of the harder bits to do....just building it digitally and getting it to hang off the end and extend to the rest of the base smoothly, was a challenge. And yeah.....not sure about the redcoats, 2 of the 3 at the table appear to be almost gone (plus the other one fighting ). And yes, with minifig posing, I had initially built them off to the side of the base, then tried to move and pose them on the build. Learned pretty quick its easier to just build the minifig piece by piece in the location you want them in. For the tuba, I used Google to get ideas (same with my accordion), and borrowed most of my design from this one here. I did change a few things, for a more fluid design, and also for posing purposes.

[ESL] Post Master's House and Office, Otoño
Corweena replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Those fall colors are glorious! And I love how the construction of the building is split between stone and wood. -
Thank you Capt.! I tried to recreate your building style best I could, while throwing in my own little flare. I think I spent more time on creating and posing minifigs, than the whole rest of the build. It takes FOREVER, and each one was created from scratch in place. Not sure I ever want to digitally build this many again LOL. Thank you! Thanks! There are a lot of little details I tried to add, that often can be overlooked. Hopefully the more detailed shots I'm rendering will highlight those a bit more.

Welcome to the Punto Sur Biergarten, the location of choice for all your Oktoberfest celebrations. Drinks, food, music.....we have it all! Come in, sit down, grab a pint with your mates, and partake in all the mouthwatering morsels our kitchen prepares. Steak, brätwurst, turkey legs, laugenbrezeln, biscuits...all of our food is prepared by our owners (the Schroeder family). And to wet your whistle, we pour only the finest brews and beverages from throughout the New Haven Sea, highlighted by our home-brewed keg of Dastardly Dirk's Doppelbock. For entertainment, our very own band Das Tuba commands the stage, performing some of their hit songs "Punto Sur State of Mind", "Tubaback", and "Twilight of the Beer Gods". Set aside your worries, grievances, faction rivalries (unless someone insults your mother, then fisticuffs are permitted....as appears to be the case between a few inebriated soldiers ). Enjoy the company of friends and strangers alike, stuff your bellies, drink 'til you can't see straight, plan your next move on Terraversa, and enjoy this glorious Oktoberfest season. Once you enter our gates, you'll never want to leave! Front gate: Overall View: The Kitchen: Stage Area & Tables The Bar Area A giddy Sea Rat looks on in glee as two drunken soldiers settle their dispute with some fisticuffs. Also, a hook makes for a great sausage utensil over the hot grill To be Licensed as a Large Artisan in Punto Sur. ____________________________________________________________ I did not plan on doing a digital build for the Oktoberfest challenge, but at the beginning of the month, I started a new job, and for my first two weeks I am training at a location a few hours from home, so I am away from my bricks. However, being away from home with nothing but work occupying my day, I have plenty of time to mess around on Stud.io, so I decided to go all in for the contest. I did my best to capture the colors and style set by @Capt Wolf in his trading post build, while incorporating both classic and modern Pirates elements. I also threw in some Oktoberfest flair (at least what Google tells me its looks like, don't hang me if its wrong ), and a variety of characters seen in the BoBS universe. I spent waaaayyyy too much time on this, but it was a blast creating the scene, and a challenge to translate some techniques to digital building. Enjoy!

The Black Wolf company has taken delivery of its newest ship, the Class 2 cutter Akela. From the shipyards in Tortuga, the Akela was built courtesy of @Professor Thaum and the license was gifted courtesy of @NOD (thanks to both of them). Like its counterpart the Nymeria, the Akela is a small cargo and trading vessel that relies on its speed and maneuverability to outrun any potential aggressors. [BTV1 - OL] The last line of defence
Corweena replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I really love your whole base plate setup....from the irregular shape, to the angled tiles leading to the steps. Well done! And the Knights are a fearsome deterrent for any would-be plunderers. -
The world was afire with the news of the Invasion of Terraversa. After the initial shock of the news wore off, alliances were being formed, sides were chosen, and preparations were being made to join in the conflict. In Bastion, Senor Alejandro Hernandez, a recently contracted Lieutenant for Black Wolf Company, had been island hopping searching for and enlisting the best Sea Rat marksmen he could find. His job was a difficult one....while the men could shoot, it fell to him to turn them from loose-mouthed rabble-rousers, into a well-oiled marksman unit. After weeks of endless drilling and training, the men were just about ready.....the last few were finishing up their final marksmanship test. Lt. Hernandez addresses the men "complete these final shots, and you will be Deadeye Marksman. You aren't regular infantry, use whatever cover you can find, to protect yourself from the enemy muskets. Five more shots without a miss! Ready, Aim, FIRE! The firing range targets The men who already completed their final test, pick up their brand new rifled muskets, with greater range, and higher accuracy over traditional infantry muskets. In the hands of expert marksmen, these rifles become true killing machines ready to spit lead across the field and drop any enemy that may get in the way. The Black Fang Rangers, freshly arrived from their conflict with the Lotii on El Oleonda, look on at the Sharpshooters training. All veterans of multiple conflicts, the Rangers laugh and talk among themselves, betting on how the new men will fare in the next engagement. To be used to raise 2 platoons of Marksmen and 1 Platoon of Rangers on Bastion (the Rangers actually have their own build here, but I never filed a form for them, so they will be raised now and included in this one).

[BTV1-OL] Watchful Eyes in Westface
Corweena replied to Corweena's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yeah, it took me a little bit to come up with that....I originally had a knife in his hand, but that didn't quite portray the scene as I really intended it. Thanks! And I wholeheartedly agree. I'd love if that top knot braid hair came in a variety of colors. Brown, orange, blonde....I'd make a group of "Berserker" soldiers in an instant to terrorize the seas.- 16 replies

Reset the origin? I believe if you right click, on the menu that pops up, there is a tab that let's you set a certain piece as the origin. And right below it is a tab that resets it. I'll check later and confirm.- 16 replies

[BTV1-OL] Watchful Eyes in Westface
Corweena replied to Corweena's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you gentlemen, I appreciate the kind words. Thank you, I saw someone do a similar style floor using headlight pieces, and figured by using square 1x1 tiles, they would make pretty good cobblestones. I've used LDD for years, and just recently switched. It's a bit of a learning curve, but once you use it, I found it much better with many more features. And yes, that was rendered using Studio. Correct. Their in program rendering is nice, as it just takes a few clicks. Thanks! Thank you! And you are correct. After a bit of a learning curve, Stud.io is much more fluid and the options are endless. Plus they seem to continue to update it and add more parts monthly. Thank you! And I originally had the bricks straight, but I definitely wanted that worn look, so angling a few was decided. And yes, it's a bit more complicated in the program than in physical building. But I like to think after this, I've gotten fairly quick at it.- 16 replies

The Second Terraversan War - Submissions Thread
Corweena replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Let the spying begin! -
Westface 29 Sept 620 With the invasion in full swing, Westface now stood as the lone Terraversan held settlement on the southeastern side of the island. The military had begun fortifying the city, preparing for the imminent attack that would one day come. Refugees and sympathizers streamed through the gates daily, eager to join one of the many militia groups forming to augment the army, or looking for protection from the invading forces. Among the refugees, two particularly gruff men were admitted through the city gate. While nothing of their appearance was of note, an onlooker with a keen eye and plenty of time on their hands, may have found their behavior to be quite interesting. They began methodically walking through the city streets, skillfully keeping to the shadows and alleys, avoiding the regular Terraversan army patrols. In normal times, this may have caught some eyes, but with the almost frantic atmosphere in the city, no one had any thoughts other than an army of bluecoats materializing on the horizon charging for an attack. As such, the two men continued unchallenged through the city streets, the first man making notes of any notable thing in a small ledger in shorthand, the other, hatchet in hand keeping a watchful eye for anyone who may make sense of their purpose in the city. _____________________________________________________________________________ Since I was on vacation last week, I decided to try my hand at doing a digital build. Its been many years since I've done so, and only used LDD at the time. Switching to Studio made a world of difference, but definitely takes some practice and time to learn all of the functions it offers. I'm still a bit slow at it, but the customization it offers for colors and the like made it perfect choice for this build.

BoBs Discussion : Fleshie or Yellow heads?
Corweena replied to Count Vroskri's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Like a lot of the people who grew up with Lego in the 80s and 90s, I'm a die hard yellow guy. I much prefer the classic and somewhat cartoonish look it gives. Plus, besides the new Barracuda Bay set, I haven't purchased a new released Lego set in at least 10 years, so I don't have any flesh heads at all. Even the licensed SW stuff I have is the older first run, so it still uses yellow. And when it comes to army building, I've found the yellow heads and hands to be cheaper and easier to source in bulk. But like everyone else says, its a preference. There is no "wrong" way to do it. I think many people just like the classic feel they give, and especially in the Pirate (non-POTC) line, they still use the yellow heads. -
What a fantastic ship, and even more brilliant stand and baseplate. Just a shame its being sold to the lobsterbacks. Oh well, looks like the Sea Rats have a new target to commandeer

[COR - MRCA] All Things Come to an End

If he escaped once.....maybe he can do it again? Great MOC, interested to see how the situation plays out. And I can't help but see a little correlation to the hanging of Charles Vane in Black Sails. And look how that turned out for the redcoats....a full scale rebellion. Just sayin'
