LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!

Last summers wave for me was terrible it is what this summers wave is going to be for many of you on here. I don’t think anyone really knows how they plan sets or what data they have to suggest what sells well and what doesn’t. Maybe some of the RTG sets sold well and that why we’ve got another this year. Someone said a while back the U wing is selling well which could be a good sign for next year for more Andor sets. I think the reality we have to accept now is SW is big so many eras so many potential sets within each era that it’s an impossible job to get the perfect balance. 2025 is an off year for SW as Andor is the only mainstream media being released every year for the past 10-11 years we’ve had new media with the potential for Lego to cover it with sets and that heavily reduces the odds of things getting remade. This is where the balance is wrong clones get a lot of coverage but they sell, x wings and tie fighters sell we’ve had 4/5 versions of x wings since Disney took over and maybe 10 different ties as well in various shapes and forms. Still got the ep9 falcon in shops in the U.K. i don’t know if that’s because it’s popular or they can’t shift it. The balance is wrong and now throw in the 18+ helmets/dioramas/midi ships and constant buildable droids/creatures the theme has changed forever and I think our expectations need to change with it and really we need to start showing any unhappiness with your wallets. Again I’ve no idea how they design sets or plan for them, are they current lead designers clone fans and that’s why we’ve had a lot of P2 clones? Does someone at LEGO got beef with Christopher Lee and that’s why we haven’t had a Dooku for so long we don’t know. Lego is getting more expensive and it’s harder to enjoy and justify it as a hobby. We are struggling to get coverage with stuff in the normal Lego universe there is no way as a business they would focus on obscure stuff that 90% of SW fans wouldn’t know about. SW is a double edged sword it’s popular because Disney has been making content for over 10 years now but that’s come at the cost of Lego making 10 years worth of new content at the expense of stuff from the original 6 films. I’m still in the boat of rather have new content and sets based off that than remakes -

Would have been a better route the micro fighter just for the figure but not everyone wants the figure. Some may want both in a decent size. Ships that get the UCS treatment should also eventually be released as a system set and they do in the most part just not in the same year but whenever they come I don’t see it as a problem. If it’s released in the summer or even in 2026/2027 they will still be on the shelf at the same time. Is it such an issue because for you this summer is not for you set wise and I get the frustration. I’ve had that for years now and tbh it’s saved me quite a lot of money and let me focus on other themes. -

Lego is for kids and used to be the odd set for adults, now it’s mainly adults. If they are going to do Jango fett figure makes sense to do it in one year. It’s not like Mandolorian or Darth Vader where he is going to be used every year until eternity. I get your point really do. It is strange to get it in the same year but I’m kind of glad they did. UCS sets are out of a lot of people’s budgets, especially kids, kids can like Jango fett to, I couldn’t afford the og slave 1 back in 2002 or 3 when it came out and I can’t afford the UCS one now so to get one in a cheapish category I’m over the moon. -

I’d say not many people have the budget for UCS sets, and more than likely the summer one will sell well. I don’t want the UCS one but I’ll pick up the one in the summer. Also aren’t the UCS sets marketed as 18+ sets and system scale sets at different age scales? It does give children Lego’s previous main target audience a chance to get a slave 1 with a jango and boba. I personally hope they do keep doing it. In the past few years we’ve had a UCS tie interceptor and UCS x wing on the shelves even the UCS gunship was still being sold in shops at the same time as system scale equivalents. they do compete with themselves which is why i think their shift towards the adult market will eventually be their downfall. l -

I know they turned them in to the dioramas. Extra details but 3x the price, I’d rather cheap and some good figures -

They had a good run of those under £30 location sets. We had Yodas hut, obi wans house, Luke’s house, final duel from TFA, the duel on Naboo, bespin freezing chamber, even dark trooper attack. There is a lot of potential for these kind of sets and to get so many desirable characters in them -

I’d argue we need Lego to focus on making cheaper sets more at the £22 point lol. Considering CTT and MTT is going to be 150 what’s another 70 quid going to get you in terms of size and scale? -

I presume because it would be like the gunship. People would want it minifigure scale and come with a million different clones/droids/separatists and all people would do would be complain about it. I can’t see why they couldn’t do it the same way they did with the ucs AT-AT and have battlepack to accompany it to fill either vehicle up. Then are they as iconic as other vehicles from SW? In the films the MTT is only really in the first film and isn’t really the most prominent trade federation vehicle featured and the CTT gets what a few seconds in RoTS and a few more in R1. -

I thought there was a cancelled set which was the bounty hunter pursuit. But in terms of prototype I know TT used to let Lego produce real figures for the games but Zam would have been for the cancelled set. I kind of wonder what other sets have been cancelled that we never heard of leak wise. -

Same just want to see more details and pics of all the sets really. Probably have to wait a month. Then we will probably start getting leaks for the Death Star. Hopefully the leakers won’t leak figures one by one for that set. As that would get really tedious especially if there is 40 of them -

The prelim was just an At-rt. 4 clones (think they were the ones from the At-te and had no pauldrons or yellow arms. Then there was the stud shooter a small build that looks like some cover for the clones with one of the og BF2 bacta tanks that gave you health and then 3 B2s and the spider droid. -

I don’t mind the clone sets but in moderation and if like they are doing which is new things or remaking but making it a little different. I do want more legions don’t know why it’s stupid they are clones they are all the same just got different armour. But it’s like Jedi star fighters I have a whole rainbow of the bloody things and if Lego made a new one tomorrow in a different colour I’m buying it same as that damn hotrod snowspeeder that’s going next to my hoth and sandspeeder. It’s like Lego knows me they are releasing 4 new castle factions this year for the specific purpose of making me build 4 new armies (they are one faction off and could make a really crap GOT moc lmao). Thinking for 2026. Even new republic ships there’s an opportunity for a new Y, A, X and if we are lucky even a B wing. Supposedly Ahsoka 2 has a few big battles in so it’s a chance to get OT ships but with new figures and colours. Like I think I’ve mentioned before guaranteed to get a new AT-AT from the Mando movie. I think 2026 and 2027 will be a big year for new republic/imperial remnant sets and hopefully should be enough to appease OT fans and Mando fans at the same time. -

I know the clone fatigue is here but out of genuine genuine curiosity. With regards to P2 clones is there much else they could milk set wise :D. Past few years Lego has been remaking republic vehicles but with new legions, and new colours etc. we haven’t had an AT-AP for a while or the AT-OT but I wouldn’t want one with the kashykk troopers but is there an alternative that hasn’t been done legion wise. also the pauldrons they can’t be a one off so would these suit stormtroopers or are there other clones that would benefit from the new piece? Or is it a combo of both? the only redeeming grace of the past few years of clone domination is that it has given us new and updated vehicles with new and updated figures. Now I do want to stress I hope this kind of effort goes in to some OT sets but I think the next few years the only kind of OT sets we will get will be linked with Ahsoka and the Mando movie. Which may suck for some but again could give us an opportunity of remakes with new design/colours and figures. but looking to the summer I am genuinely buzzing my tits off for how good these sets are. I know the price ain’t great but Argos and Smyths and B&M always have quick sales on LEGO SW sets. Also before someone asks im not a clone bro and I hate the clone wars show. I just like the sets for what they are. -

It’s a great wave every set is a fresh take there is nothing that hasn’t been done recently. Yes it’s very clone heavy but it’s not the 501st, it’s not Rex and Cody, it’s legions that aren’t as common knowledge to the casual fan and legions that have never been done before. First Jango figure in a cheap set in years. The only thing with this wave is it’s expensive extremely for what some of these sets are. Going to need some very good gwp or points offers to tempt me to get them from Lego direct -

I expect the V19 to be downscaled compared to the last model. Don’t know if that will be good or bad as I’m not really a fan and never really seen the ship in action. i get where your coming from but imagine the outrage of releasing Bly in a set and then not having any of his legion. We would all be getting the pitchfork out and moaning about Lego not doing the 327th. Maybe they should have just done one legion and saved the marines for another year -

I’d sacrifice Ki Adi for a 4th marine imo unless they are going to pop up in another set I kind of want more guess have to be eBay/bricklink. MTT sounds pretty good as well imo. First time I’ve had a chance to get a CTT and an MTT and like the coruscant guard gunship I think it’s cool that’s it a different variant to the norm. if Ventress has the curved lightsabers that for me 100% guarantees we are getting a Dooku in the near future. I’ll definitely pick the V19 on sale. like the sound of the RTG snowspeeder. I bought the sandspeeder years ago and hoped they were going to do one for each terrain type lmao. Interesting to see how the speeder bike works with the snowspeeder? again might pick up the slave 1 on sale. Maybe save a few of these sets for next years May the 4th tbh. AT-ST might possibly potentially maybe if I find some money from somewhere be my first UCS set, they are one of my favourite vehicles but I’d need to see some more detailed pics and maybe a few review videos before I go mad and buy one. Happy for those who’ve wanted a buildable ewok but it’s not for me. Set wise imo one of the best waves we’ve had in a while in terms of what we are getting. We are getting an MTT and a CTT remake but with new designs and colour scheme(at least for the MTT). 3 different Jedi, new pauldrons, return of the commando droids. Slave 1 which I think Bobas one at this scale was fantastic (I’m a fan of downsized sets if done right). The only thing that let it down are the price some of these are far too expensive for what they are. i know there are few that are disappointed in the lack of OT but maybe next year we might get something very OT heavy to make up for it. I think the nature of the SW beast now is we can’t make everyone happy and even if it was perfect nobody hates things more than a Star Wars fan does :D -

Correct me if I’m wrong but technically isn’t the next TIE fighter already coming this year as a GWP for the Death Star or am I misremembering that. I feel like I might be getting it confused with the Christmas set. -

I feel like in other themes armour pieces have come on so well especially in some of the more recent Castle/Viking sets, ninjago as well carrying the torch for new armour/weapons. I thought cloth would be more expensive to mass produce and print on compared to plastic? Also Lego seem to like to change the clones every few years. 2020 they bring back phase 2 and ditch angry clone head, 2022 they do the helmet holes and 2025 they now have the plastic pauldrons. Maybe they did some market research and their sample of people said they don’t like the cloth ones? change is good hopefully they come out well I for one can’t wait. hopefully the feedback comes from response by fans not through sales data as clone bros buying 20,000 of the BP will sabotage any proper or true feedback. i don’t know why Lego changed the stormtrooper helmet so much, I had loads of the rebels ones which I swapped out for the ones that came before the current family guy ones and now I have a load of them. It’s odd especially when other things in the theme have never had a redesign. -

Marines alone of course. Kind of like similar number to what appeared in the AT-TE gave I get that, didn’t the leak suggest it’s similar to the previous version from 2014? So how many did that one fit? Think it’s more the pauldron could easily be repurposed and redesigned to suit stormtroopers in future sets. -

That’s what I thought. I think it would be good for Clones, Stormtroopers and even FO stormtroopers. I don’t know why they didn’t do it earlier, they’ve been doing better armour moulds for ninjago and castle(icons) sets for a few years now. While I am a sucker for a new clone legion, I am not one for accuracy don’t really care as long as they look cool but it’s literally the same clone as before but this one is yellow and not blue, red, purple or any other colour. MTT I get why people are disappointed there is only 6 B1 but are we all not sick to death of B1s do we not already have 10,000 in our collection because save for last year the previous 10 years Lego only thought that the separatists only consisted of B1 droids. I have so many B1s and I don’t even go out of my way to collect them. I kind of wish we had a commander as it’s a little different but I feel like the inclusion of the commando droids does balance it out a little. Guarantee they’ll chuck them in the magazine next year as well to be able to get more. Do we know what/if there are any droids coming in the turbo tank? They always have like one of two at least just odd we haven’t heard anything on that just that it’s ki adi mundi, commander and one marines (hopefully 4/5 at least) -

I wonder what people’s thoughts on it more than likely being downsized compared to previous ones. I’m oddly a fan of the downsizing most of the time it’s been done well. It’s not on my radar this set as I’m not really a clone wars fan but if it looks good and the price is right who knows. finally finished my post Andor watch of Rogue one, and you know what it does completely change the film for me it’s still my favourite. They need more grounded wares type films from the rebellion. You can’t really do it live action with the clone wars but surely there is a story in there somewhere for that kind of thing. Also you don’t see Andors body so he could be alive lol anything is possible
