  1. Kind of a good thing in a way as it’s something we aren’t going to miss. No exclusive figures shit build. Most people who want it will buy it years down the line on sale. Only a few people will buy it on release.
  2. Official DS pics are out and it’s nice to get more detailed pics. I can see the scale now of the set it is a proper full half sphere and looks deeper than the earlier pics would suggest, might be blind but they still haven’t shown the outside of it yet not that that is the main draw. I’m going to wait and see when a 3rd party retailer gets and puts it on a big sale only way I can justify it or maybe try and win it on a raffle on collie competition or some other Lego raffle site
  3. It’s definitely going to be smaller than the last one. Although saying that the holiday one has loads of small pieces and an interior whereas a normal one won’t have that. Like the Xmas lights alone are probably a fair few pieces.
  4. I hate the style of P1 clones, I avoid them like the plague. P2 “my army” is normally 10 of each. But that’s the same for any faction I collect within SW except for battle droids which I just have a billion of. Gingerbread looks cool would be better if it was edible :D
  5. Well it’s releasing on the other May bank holiday but you are right weird not on May the 4th itself. It’ll make loads of money regardless but just find it weird how they’ve been showing the same trailer for at least a year? Remember seeing it leaked from some sort of convention or celebration a while ago. Just hope to hear more about the sets for this film
  6. If one of those may/march sets is a battlepack I do have faith that it’s going to be an OT one. But if it has to be clone at least let it be a new legion or the marines in a cheaper set so we don’t have to buy that monstrosity. I’m holding out hope for maybe a ATT or AT-AP next year I know we’ve had them recently but I sold my last versions for really good price back in the day and I’d love a chance for a newer one. But watch that potential battlepack be a 501st one. I mean next year it will have been 6 years since the last one came. More images of the Death Star because of an apparent eBay listing. The more I see it the more I want it but man the only way I’d get it is if there is a lotto win or I win won of these lego competitions that keep popping up online in the U.K. Mando and Grogu film is intriguing as it feels like it’s so quiet news wise. There’s four actors on IMDb for the film plus rumours of a couple of others in the film. I wonder when we will know more. As those films sets hold a lot of potential imo.
  7. So first thoughts for the March wave is 75420 has got to be another Jedi starfighter right similar price point to this years. Guessing 75422 is another starfighter again similar price to Arc170. If these two are ships I do actually hope they are CIS ones. 75424 screams big battle pack gonna be optimistic and say maybe it’s like Hoth or Endor themed one. I know it’ll be a clone one really but at that point next year there would be 3 on the shelves already. Maybe if it is CW this will have a few commando droids in?. But with the fleet and stormie retiring this year it’s an opportunity. May wave seems good minus the busts. first thought maybe I missed it but does this mean no UCS set in May? Normally leaks would include the UCS sets. Not that I’m a UCS collector but there always interesting to see. that January wave is rough as f*** only two interesting sets and that’s the 2 cheapest sets that are speeders. Was interested in the shock trooper design wise but then with it being cheap 2nd hand and being in a magazine twice by the end of the year it just seems pointless. Still don’t know why they went for shock trooper for the mech and not 212th.
  8. I like it I reckon there are loads that do but no one likes the price. I’ll probably get it from a 3rd party next year or two for 20-25% off maybe then I’ll get it
  9. The GWP TIE for the Death Star sounds underwhelming imo. Not something that would make me think I need to buy this day 1. Interesting to see how it fits in with the Death Star.
  10. I agree 100% it’s just when you have slim pickings you grab what you can. Wonder when they revisit ESB if they’ll attempt another Hoth base. Whether it’s a single MBS/UCS style or my preference kind of like what you suggested a Harry Potter style multiple sets that all link up into one.
  11. I get and see a lot of the MOCs but for those who don’t and it was more aimed at like as a general themes primarily aimed at kids like Ninjago and City, feel like a castle theme would get boring quickly. But I love the MOCs. BDP is fantastic as well when they choose a castle set for a series. I agree about the SW just location in general feel like it died and got replaced by the dioramas. They could easily extend the Yavin set for example with Andors house and chuck a few characters in there. I thought for a time the corridor set had a lot of potential with the Dark Trooper attack and Tantive boarding. I remember one of my first SW sets being the opening scene from TPM if they remade that now that would fit the corridor sets well I feel. So many scenes that happen on ships or bases that could suit that alone would keep them going, and even marvel could borrow the idea and do a few daredevil corridor sets well:D Moff Gideon set last year was one of my personal favourites from last year perfect example of a basic location set at a reasonable price
  12. The way I see it it’s an everything theme. Yes they are ninjas but one season it’s like cool ice samurai in sets, next season it’s cyberpunky looking video game kind of sets. Then it’s mechs, helicopter, bikes, cars, castles, ships. It’s so versatile and fresh in a way Castle could never be. Every wave is different with Ninjago. Kind of like City how each year there is a new sub theme, this year its the arctic, last year they had jungle, space, f1 and even like diving, they can keep the content fresh. Feel like classic castle only could pump out new sets by bringing in new factions. Realistically there’s only so many Castles you can buy or blacksmiths, carriages, gatehouses, towers, dragons etc. I love the themes from the late 90s and early 00s they always have a place in my heart but you have to take your hats off to designers in the city and ninjago teams they’ve managed to keep things going. I know we all complain about constant X wings and clones and whatever remakes they do but city literally release a new police station every year and get away with it because they change it up enough and kids love it, afols love it. SW could learn a lot from City and Ninjago teams. I’m guessing different people work on different themes at LEGO.
  13. I don’t really understand Ninjagos success but then again I wasn’t a kid when they came out I was a kid when castle was out hence why I like the castle sets but from what I’ve seen kids like ninjas, and they have new themes/enemies every year from the traditional to like video gamey cyberpunk waves to random ice samurais which looked pretty cool. Lego have tried replicating ninjago with other tv series for Lego themes I saw a city one on TV when I was channel surfing one day so there is a market for it but I suppose if Lego are going to risk it they probably would have to go all in. But in these days Lego have there heart set on licensed themes as that’s where the adult big money profit comes from, and sales don’t lie, Lego nearly when bankrupt when all the classic themes were out and now they are one of it’s not the most profitable “toy” company out there. Lego knows adults want more castle every time there is a vote for a big set (LKC was after all the 90th anniversary Lego set which was voted for by fans) castle and pirates are always the top 2. I forgot about Nexo Knights I think all 2025 sets have been on some sort of sale even the August wave has already had some near 20% off in a couple of places. The only set from the past few years that I haven’t seen on a mega sale is the ISD (Amazon refuse to go below 15%) and the fleet trooper/stormie bp because they are Lego exclusive. I do find maybe it’s just me sets are retiring quicker is that because we are all fools and buy everything straight away so then Lego retire early for more shelf space for the new. I’ve never bought a helmet or diorama. Had some gifted as a present on sale do think more and more of us are waiting for the inevitable sale on SW sets
  14. I think kids are but I don’t think they are interested when you throw in the Ninjago, City theme and then all the marvel/dc/SW sets. Mechs must sell well otherwise they wouldn’t be thrown in everywhere and you can’t really do a castle mech. Every attempt to bring it back since the early 2000s just fails or doesn’t get enough support. Most get 2 years and few waves and then move on to the next rebrand. If I remember right the lion knights have had 4 maybe 5 recolours or rebranding since the classic red/blue days. But also just think what’s in the world that’s castle themed aimed at kids? GoT/HoTD 18+, Vikings and last kingdom again adult audience, every attempt at Robin Hood since Costner has been bit shite, LoTR/Hobbit. Castle/medieval barely gets a look in these days with all the superhero films/tv shows. you could definitely do a theme aimed for all ages. Small builds up to a big castle, battle packs, random buildings etc but suppose there’s only so many things you can do with Castle before your redoing it. Classic sets probably suffered from this which is why new factions were constantly bought in and that’s probably why the 00s they constantly rebranded as well. it Sucks but all I can say is thank god for PAB at least the figures are on there and you won’t get shafted like buying off bricklink or eBay.
  15. For display purposes only the new one is better as it’s small. Figures are great as it gives us another K2S0, a deadra and ISB guy. For playability and its actual function as a troop carrier the old one is better but I feel like there is a scale where they can keep the troop compartment and be functional but not have it as massive as it was.
  16. I expect 2 “big” sets and a whole load of smaller ones in one or two waves, even though we have a million Mando and Grogu figures hoping that the support characters will get loads of figures at least. Rumors of characters appearing does mean that we should get something different from what we’ve had before. With Ahsoka coming as well I’m expecting 2HY sets to be better. Unfortunately don’t think there is room for it’s own theme. City, Duplo and Ninjago, Dreams only seem to be only original themes that can stand against all the licensed themes. they could make like a weapons forge and so many other little castle builds but ninjago would have the same kind of thing. Castle is incorporated into all themes really, we’ve got the 3 in 1 Castle released now, few ideas sets with figures in and I MOC certain things to go with the castle out of other themes like Ninjago. Relying on BDP for the big sets or icons or just MOCs and rebrickable. It’s tough but more enjoyable than SW collecting atm
  17. My early 30s has caused a shift in to my desire to build on my castle collection. The lion knights castle probably my favourite Lego set and probably one of the best ever. Also picked up the ideas blacksmith, the medieval town square and ideas Viking village as well as the last 2 BDP castle sets port and siege encampment. With the factions all being non licensed army building is easy with PAB and with the help of other themes like city, ninjago and dreamzz you can get extras as well on PAB. It’s a simpler and stress free life compared to SW. the future looking good as 4 new factions hopefully to pick up on PAB so by next year I’ll have armies for Lions, Falcons, Wolfpack, Forestmen, Griffins, Krakens, Horse Knights, and Serpents as well as a horde of Vikings. Couldn’t be happier with my collection now and I do have to thank SW for producing sets that I’m not keen on as I’ve been able to put my money in other sets. As a kid it was one of the other I had to choose between SW, Harry Potter and other non licensed themes and the idiot in me choose SW and Harry Potter. Glad I’ve had a chance as an adult to make up for that mistake. I still don’t hate SW and I will always have hope for it but these days I’d choose a grey castle over a grey ship/vehicle in a heartbeat. And I’d choose a shiny new knight faction over a shiny new clone legion
  18. I remember it being the Death Star 2 as what he was hinting at the time. The redwood was a red herring because it was a picture on Endor with the DS2 in the sky if I remember right? Think the confusion was why redwood if it had nothing to do with Endor
  19. With a film out next year I really can’t see there being room for many other remake sets. Especially with the growth of the 18+ sets. It’s the first SW film of the 2020s they are going to go all out on the merchandising. We can all have our views on the D+ shows and whether they are good or not but SW at the cinema it’s all or nothing. They always put a lot of effort in to films even though people on here might be meh about it there are people out there who will go to the cinema for Star Wars regardless of the past and they will have all kinds of sets and crap to get people to spend money. Lego knows how to get money out of all of us and they know how to get new people to spend their money. I just can’t see a world in 2026 where we have a spring or summer wave that isn’t dominated by Mando and Grogu sets.
  20. Apparently it is one with Mandolorians in. 2 of each figure
  21. So Cal has better odds of being a RTG set than from the games we love him for. I hope he makes his way to live action at some point
  22. I highly expect 2026 to go as follows a May wave for Mando and grogu film. Couple of random cheap sets in June and August wave having follow up “spoilerish” Mando sets and a couple of sets from Ahsoka Season 2. I don’t see much room for anything else. For me I’m quite excited for those projects and I’m expecting a lot of new republic and imperial remnant sets to come next year.
  23. Just find it a crazy coincidence how we was all hoping for a set with all these kind of scenes spurred on by a rumour of an imperial base. I always thought the rumour was it was a big Death Star play set as at the time a few assumed it would be the imperial equivalent to the Yavin set.
  24. An advanced was inevitable it was the only TIE that hadn’t been shrunk in recent years. I just assumed they’d do it as the GWP or it would be a mini build for the Death Star. It is just crazy how much they marketed the avenger for it to get nothing from Lego. Don’t think there has been a ship feature so prominently in trailers and build up and not get the Lego treatment (I’m sure there has been but I can’t remember that far back). Question for everyone with long memories now that we’ve seen the pics for the Death Star am I the only one that thinks it sounds like a lot of what the rumors where hinting at for the cal kestis set last year before it became a ISD? Someone could have seen some prelims like in the big 2022/3 prelim leak and just got the wrong info on what it really was? Either that or it’s just a big coincidence or my only personal theory is that one of the designers of the Death Star set was reading how much we all wanted a Death Star play set and made it happen and now we hate it for the price :D
  25. I’ve just never thought about it as with the cheaper sets the price difference isn’t that much but obviously the higher the price the more difference there is between £ and $ if your converting it exactly. 850 and when Argos and Smyths get hold of it and knock a third off on big sales I might actually be tempted to get one I do genuinely like the design from what I’ve seen just don’t like the price. But haven’t seen a single person admit to saying it’s a good price yet. I think if there is anyone who does they are not brave enough to say it lol
