*Your entry has earned 9 XP (S:3, T:3, A:3) The Dagro Episode: Part VI: Epilogue After the Dark Lord was taken into custody, he was trialed for his crimes and detained for 236 standard days on a prison ship for the mentally ill before being transfered to a Mid Rim mining colony. The extraction of Nergon-14 was the subject of the mining colonies dangerous efforts. Being a explosive substance, working in the Nergon-14 mines was a job for hardmen. His fragile mental status did not allow for hard labor and so the imposter became supervisor of the facility's cleaning droid brigade. Being in power of many 'subordinates', it was a job which he eventually learned to love. ~ The End ~ (This time for real)

[BRICKLINK] 910053 The Thieves of Tortuga
Yperio_Bricks replied to Retrocity's topic in LEGO Pirates
What is wrong with the color palette? I am sure, if Tortuga would be build with bricks, it would look much better and the reception would be much more positive. -
Have you ever found Lego pieces outdoors?
Yperio_Bricks replied to SpacePolice89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Luckily big companies can not dictate people how they have to speak. Millions of people use the term legos. There are many other examples where brand or company names are used as a general term (for a class of products). Once a German youtuber triggered Lego by using the term in combination with other companies names and of course Lego's lawyers sent him an letter This thread is fun! I don't remember finding any Lego though. Probably as a kid, but i don't remember. I have a box of never-use-Lego and now i think i should build small "mocs" and loose it on purpose in the train etc. so other people can find it. -
So I jumped over my shadow as we say in Germany and ordered 2 of the Governor's torsos with my latest PAB order. Now that i have the torsos in my hands I can say that the printing quality is abysmal as expected and I detest them. This "white" color looks so so bad

Thank you very much for your kind words I hardly could have built it any bigger, but i hope to revisit this setting in the future and build a bigger moc. My first rocks and snow and i really liked it! Thanks a lot!

MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules

It's a pleasure! -
I read that the new crocodiles were already available at the Günzburg Legoland Factory. There is also a new mineral piece available in different colors. In pictures it looks like it glows, but that is maybe just artwork. 49656

[BRICKLINK] 910053 The Thieves of Tortuga
Yperio_Bricks replied to Retrocity's topic in LEGO Pirates
Got it! So it must be this one: Between Thieves of Tortuga and the Forest Stronghold I would choose Tortuga! We've seen a truckload of castle mocs in recent years and the Forest Stronghold 'is just one of them'. Maybe I am oversaturated by looking at all these castles that look the same, but to me Tortuga is much more unique and a more lively moc. But I also want to take into account that we see much more castle mocs than pirate mocs and of course there will be much more repetition in the castle theme just because of the sheer number of mocs. I also feel, like mentioned before, that the black background is doing Tortuga no good and it would be received better with an other background. Then there are the black trees. I understand it is part of the forestmen folklore but to me it just looks so wrong. Tortuga has brown docks at least -

Which forestmen set do you mean? 910001 Castle in the Forest? -
I don't think the black structures are supposed to be made of volcanic rock. No one would say that the black docks at Eldorado Fortress are made of volcanic rocks too. I don't think the designers had such elaborate thoughts when they designed the set back in the day. They took whatever pieces and colors were available at that time when parts and colors were very much restricted. White and yellow were already used by the imperials, so there were not many options left and they chose black. The build itself is more of a fantasy build than something that resembles reality. I'd say the original set depicts some ruined buildings or maybe even an ruined fort, but yeah, it's more of a fantasy build. The brick prints on the black panels make it clear, that the whole thing is some man-made structure. As for a moc i guess one has to figure out how to build the raised base first. If you choose dark grey for the rocks for example, you want to avoid buildings that use the same color. The next question is how much green parts you want to use for the base.

Should LEGO become publicly-held in 2032?

*Your entry has earned 15 XP (S:5, T:5, A:5) Mando Mayhem: Prologue Part I The location is somewhere on Krownest, the frigid mountainous ice world in the Mandalore sector, historical home to Clan Wren. Skirmishes between Mandalorian factions and imperial remnants are taking place on many planets and moons in this part of the galaxy. Politics and bureaucracy of the New Republic have not yet reached this region of the Outer Rim Territories, which is home to Mandalorian clans, smugglers and mercenaries and where the law of the strongest still rules. Now an imperial splinter group arose from the ashes of the Empire and is seeking control over Krownest and the whole Mandalore sector. The imperials sent out patrols but are yet to discover any sign of life in the icy mountains of the planet.... Another shot of the edited picture of the moc:

I couldn't agree more People who make these statements, that 'kids don't care' are certainly not around children. And it sounds like an excuse is made up in support of Lego being lazy because children are dumb and they won't notice or care anyway. The opposite is true! And i remember, as a child, playing with castle and pirates Lego in the 90s, i always aimed for the most realism possible. I read a lot of books about these topics at that time and had more knowledge than any adult i knew Of course i would have wanted to get the most realistic and true-to-source Lego as possible. Only the best is good enough eh!?! -

I simply want to go into a shop and buy what i need (I never ordered a Lego set online myself. In rare cases i ask other people to add a set to their amazon shopping cart. The last time was years ago though). Crowdfunding of sets and whatnot.... i am just much too lazy for all of that -

Maybe this is due to the render with the black background? I feel that the set would look much better with a more lively background Overall i really like The Thieves of Tortuga (Although the BDP is not the right format for me and i will not get any of the sets.) -
