Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
Yperio_Bricks replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hehe, I've never bought a set directly from Lego. And if it is an Lego exlusive set, then i don't need it -

All sources i checked say the same but i don't know if the date has been officially confirmed. But i'd say that people who want to get the set, they better get it in the next weeks. You never know how long the stock lasts.

See, you will always find an explanation that supports your behavior. And Lego knows that. EDIT: It's ok, we don't have to further elaborate on this. -

That is exactly what Lego wants you to think! Of course not only Lego is using these marketing methods. Think of "cashback" or the 11th bread is for "free" at the bakery -
Maxbaut just posted a review of the 40755 Imperial Dropship vs Rebel Scout Speeder and says the set costs almost 40€, so i guess the price is 39,99€. The set has 383 parts. EDIT: Ok, later in the video he says the price is around 40€. Maybe he does not know for sure. OOPS, wrong thread.

GWPs are never gifts. If it would be a gift, you would get them without having to buy anything in return. Actually, all customers pay for these "gifts", even if only few people get them. That's why i hate GWPs. It's just marketing. Creating FOMO or addressing people's nostalgia and psychological tricks like that. And some people really think they get something for free. From a big company... -
Great story and nice little moc! The golden treasures, falling into the river, look so good! Excellent technique

Looks like two of the Design 3747 ROOF TILE 2X3/25° INV. -
So today i bought Jedi Bob's Starfighter and it turns out Jedi Bob's torso is completely useless for me because of the yellow neckline. Bummer I also got a 3rd Mandos vs Imperials battleback. I love the Imperial Commandos!

Since I am mentioned, I feel the need to defend myself. I didn't follow the contest closely due to the creative critics writing so many posts. Often I just marked the whole forum read because if the sheer number of their posts. So I didn't feel to be the right person to update the entry index because i would have probably missed something.

Yikes, the price for the governor's hat is 2.95€ here. Is the hat dual-molded?

A great moc all around and you really can be proud! The dark orange once again shows that it's one of the best Lego colors and really shines here in contrast with the dark grey. I like all the trash and damaged droids, the Jawas carrying their goods, the Rodian wanderers. And I especially like the cargo crates, as they add some more splashes of color to the build. Are the 1x1 tiles supposed to be freight documents? I can only second what @Sentinel_Brix said. You should use this moc for Mysteries! Just swap out the clones and add some lines of a story. Or keep the clones as part of a flashback scene

Yeah, nice bar vibes! And it looks like a fitting watering hole for a swamp planet and with all the scum and shady patrons the barkeeper better keeps his pistol near him! The barrel tables, the fish tank - only a harpoon is missing on the wall And i love the smoking device! I think i have to steal this technique in the future...

Seeing the pictures reminds me that i want to order some of the banana leaf pieces. I'm still waiting for the bush and finger leaf to come back in dark tan, so i can upgrade my palm trees.

Impressive fleet and fortress! I like that you used all those yellowed and outworn bricks for the fortress! The French even bring a mobile guillotine The chopping bears no delay! -
[BRICKLINK] 910053 The Thieves of Tortuga
Yperio_Bricks replied to Retrocity's topic in LEGO Pirates
I guess we agree to disagree. For me it is the other way round. Omnious Isle and Forest Stronghold are mainly grey and i find Tortuga to be much more visually pleasing. Build with bricks Tortuga will look great! -
*Your entry has earned 9 XP (S:3, T:3, A:3) The Dagro Episode: Part VI: Epilogue After the Dark Lord was taken into custody, he was trialed for his crimes and detained for 236 standard days on a prison ship for the mentally ill before being transfered to a Mid Rim mining colony. The extraction of Nergon-14 was the subject of the mining colonies dangerous efforts. Being a explosive substance, working in the Nergon-14 mines was a job for hardmen. His fragile mental status did not allow for hard labor and so the imposter became supervisor of the facility's cleaning droid brigade. Being in power of many 'subordinates', it was a job which he eventually learned to love. ~ The End ~ (This time for real)
