LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Yperio_Bricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I left my dark ages in the winter of 2028/2019 and from what i read in the past years, researching all the stuff, looking at all the pictures of all the sets.... i really missed out on the best years of Lego Star Wars And those years ain't comming back. It only gets worse with every year. So sad EDIT: I want to add, that i bought sets from many different themes in the first couple years. By the time i was focussing on LSW, all the sequel sets were basically retired. -

What about the Iron Islands and House Greyjoy? House Greyjoy even has a kraken on its coat of arms. -

A 1000$ death star? More buildable characters? I hope Lego goes bankrupt! -
I can only agree It's such a wholesome and touching story! You are a great storyteller @Sentinel_Brix And it's a nice little build too! How did you connect the door frame pieces? There's some grey pin or what is it? And you even have some sand red pieces! Also i must say on a general note, that sand red is the weakest of the sand colors and if Lego ever revives this color i hope they go for a better shade of the color. Or would they stick to it as is?

What do you think of the forrest peoples black trees? As a kid I played even more with castle than with pirates and I loved the forrest people but disliked their black trees because they were not realistic. -
MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules
Yperio_Bricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
Yeah, maybe the whole map is played more like a boardgame. At the pace the game is progressing and with 200 empty sectors on the map, i don't think anyone needs to be too aggressive towards the other factions for the next few decades If we would play along a set timeline and we reach a certain event and a sector changes hands unconditionally (needs to change hands to match the time line), then the whole points system would become meaningless?! -
MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules
Yperio_Bricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
In my opinion we are not reenacting canon or legends or some particular movie. We are creating our own stories and time line! I simply go by the Mysteries map. Kashyyyk is in grid sector P9. P9 is under rule of the imperial faction. Therefore Kashyyyk is controlled by the Dark SIde. Or look at Coruscant. Coruscant is in L9. Sector L9 is controlled by the Light Side, so Coruscant is under Light Side control, no matter how it was at some point in time in canon or legends. The map shows the situation straight forward and there is no doubt about who controls a certain planet. This is how I perceive the game -
[O17-DS] Sold Out on Naboo

It is not forbidden, but not very nice imo. -
As I have said, it would be a interesting social experiment that I would like to witness. And i am not sarcastic here. It would be interesting to see what really will happen when: The world's biggest toy company going full retro, dismissing all licensed themes, turning back the time 30 years and re-releasing all the blocky sets from the past. Will 90% of the customers turn to other brick companies while Lego has to rely on the nostalgia of middle-aged people. Will this turn out ot be a golden future for the Lego company?
-
So you wish Lego to go bakrupt? Because that is what would happen when they bring back these outdated sets and negate ~30 years of improvement Although it would be an interesting experiment. I mean, I was born 1983 and had a lot castle and pirates sets, city of course, even some space sets, but everything (techniques, parts, colors, printing (if we get it)) we have nowadays is so much better imo!

But wouldn't Lego want the faction to be exlusive in the IDEAS set for a while? When is that minifig dispenser set supposed to be released? -

Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
Yperio_Bricks replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah, i know! Like the famous 1x5 plate, which Lego tried to protect years after other companies started using it I just wanted to add to the discussion one reason why Lego keeps pumping out new pieces non stop. -
Love the rain drops and the water flowing into the gutter is such a great detail! First time I see it mocced like this, with the water flowing along the side of the road and then into the drain Vonreg is traveling in style with his elegant limousine speeder. I guess the minibar offers some exquisite and expensive beverages But why did the Baron change his mind? Or is it just fake? I am curious to find out! And i am waiting for a build of the castle in all its glory!

[D13 - DS] - Thrawn's childhood dream
Yperio_Bricks replied to Max_Lego's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
Nice SD bridge moc and very interesting story with many references I was reading about the Ssi-ruu and their Entechment procedure recently and to see one Ssi-ruu in this moc is a fun coincidence. I am really looking forward to see the story continue and how the fight against the Mnggal-Mnggal will turn out! -
Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
Yperio_Bricks replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yep I prefer the more modern look compared to the blocky designs of my childhood. And there are pieces whoes existence i questioned at first, like this one: Why not simply stack two 1x1 plates, eh?! But the hole in the center makes the new piece so much more versatile and useful. Some pieces may look useless at first but they wait for you to unlock their true potential! -
Unpopular Opinions about LEGO

They don't get donated to charity! I guess the sets get destroyed by private companies under supervision of customs. But i don't know how they get destroyed. Do the sets and boxes get shredded and recycled or do they burn everything in incineration together with waste in waste-to-energy facilities? I don't know. Generally it is not something unusual. Customs destroyes stuff every day i would asume. Counterfeit clothes or shoes, luxury articles like bags and parfume,... -
Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
Yperio_Bricks replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego needs to pump out new piece after new piece, so they can get a protection for these pieces (for 10 years or whatever the number is) and competitor companies can not use these pieces or copy whole sets and sell in the EU/US. It happens that whole shipping containers ordered by shops/importers get stopped and the sets destroyed because the sets contain a few protected pieces. Now many of the competitor companies have minifigs that can not be attacked anymore because recent court rules provide clarity as to how a minifig has to be different from Lego's minifig. That's why protected pieces become more important. Consumers directly buying from Temu or Aliexpress are basically save though because customs is overwhelmed by a flood of parcels from China and they can only spot check few of them. At least that's what i hear here in Germany. -

Great contest! Does a black border count into the size limit?
