  1. Yep I prefer the more modern look compared to the blocky designs of my childhood. And there are pieces whoes existence i questioned at first, like this one: Why not simply stack two 1x1 plates, eh?! But the hole in the center makes the new piece so much more versatile and useful. Some pieces may look useless at first but they wait for you to unlock their true potential!
  2. They don't get donated to charity! I guess the sets get destroyed by private companies under supervision of customs. But i don't know how they get destroyed. Do the sets and boxes get shredded and recycled or do they burn everything in incineration together with waste in waste-to-energy facilities? I don't know. Generally it is not something unusual. Customs destroyes stuff every day i would asume. Counterfeit clothes or shoes, luxury articles like bags and parfume,...
  3. Lego needs to pump out new piece after new piece, so they can get a protection for these pieces (for 10 years or whatever the number is) and competitor companies can not use these pieces or copy whole sets and sell in the EU/US. It happens that whole shipping containers ordered by shops/importers get stopped and the sets destroyed because the sets contain a few protected pieces. Now many of the competitor companies have minifigs that can not be attacked anymore because recent court rules provide clarity as to how a minifig has to be different from Lego's minifig. That's why protected pieces become more important. Consumers directly buying from Temu or Aliexpress are basically save though because customs is overwhelmed by a flood of parcels from China and they can only spot check few of them. At least that's what i hear here in Germany.
  4. Great contest! Does a black border count into the size limit?
  5. I don't care for the movie itself. I just want the Lego!
  6. POTC 6 is my last hope when it comes to Lego pirates. But instead of a big expensive icons set i hope for a wave of playsets and battlepacks
  7. Thank ye The printed tile also looks very good. Here's hoping the torso, legs and printed tile will show up at PAB eventually. Fingers crossed!
  8. Honestly, i think the Endurance will sell even worse. The set is too niche and there's no nostalgia factor to it.
  9. Welcome to the forum @Yperman Great to have you aboard! What kind of moc are you working on with your son?
  10. Looks great! I really like the body of the speeder bike. Is the trooper's upper half held in place by the arms/handles? The posing looks very good! Only the front with the L shaped plates looks maybe a bit too blocky? Though i have no idea which parts to choose at this scale. It's always hard.
  11. A Mandalorian Nite Owl will come with the LSW Magazine in December in Germany. We got quite some Mandalorians with the magazines in the past 2-3 years and this will be the 6th one i think.
  12. Microfighters are a good opportunity to get a minifig I still am angry about myself for not getting the Zorii Bliss microfighter at the local supermarket when it was on shelves.
  13. Only the best is good enough We'll see... The NT battlepack is one of the few sets we know for next year that i am exited about. So i hope the best. Fingers crossed!
  14. What does that mean, there are 3 main variants? Every night trooper should have different (battle) damages to the armor and helmet. It is very unlikely that two troopers get the exact same damage that is repaired in the exact same way. When i look at the wookieepedia picture of Ezra and the six background actors in NT armor, they all look different. Copy/paste lazyness of digital troopers should not be the benchmark for merch or Lego minifigures.
  15. Ideally no Night Trooper should look like the other, so there should be four unique ones in the battlepack. Knowing LEGO on the other hand....
  16. I read that the prints for legs and torso are new! But i have not seen the torso without the beard yet, so i have no idea how it looks like. I wonder what that long tan thing is that he is wearing? Must be this fur collar thing?
  17. The Lego string with studs at both ends now comes in two different lengths in dark tan color for the first time, thanks to Da Vinci's Flying Machine:
  18. I hope it's not a stormtrooper battlepack! We got some regular stormies in various sets lately and everything else is better than a stormtrooper BP at this point, sorry.
  19. Another great addition to the series! The pose of poor Nick Wosh in stasis looks so good and he shows the fitting expression on his face. The light really adds to the scene! I also like the door design and floor detailing. There are just enough gaps and cracks in the floor for the good guys to crawl through
  20. Unfortunately we are getting these three CMF series next year (Spiderverse is only a rumor at this point): Regular CMF series 27 Formula 1 cars Spiderverse
  21. Better late than never! Welcome to the forum @sondh
  22. What's the price of the 4+ set?
  23. Can't find it. I must be blind Hope we get more info soon (in other places )
