[MOC] Rejected Ideas submission: Spacebabies
Brickshipyard replied to jodawill's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
You guys have touched on an important issue that Lego wishes would stay ambiguous so they can make convient decisions, in this instance rejection of Lego Ideas due to war like material. And yet... like Lanterne Rouge accurately pointed out, there are so many sets across multiple lines that have war machines for the benefit of Lego marketing. Marvel may be the biggest recent offender, followed by the fantasy themes like Star Wars. Don't get me wrong, I FREAKIN love Lego Star Wars since I was a teenager 24 years ago when it started (really shows my age lol)! However, I have a problem with any organization pretending something is anything else than what it is. Lego needs to come clean on allowing war themes and admit they in fact take advantage of these exact themes. Lego's old school values of the 20th century are not embraced by the company in the 21st century, even though Lego sincerely wants to make you, the consumer, believe so. Just wait until the new Indiana Jones sets come out this summer or fall. Literally Jones fighting historical armies with war vehicles. Com on! -
[MOC] Rejected Ideas submission: Spacebabies
Brickshipyard replied to jodawill's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Brilliant idea my fellow builder! Rejected due to 3rd party license? I can't make sense of that logic... like jodawill said, they must have something planned for these guys. Really strange though that classic space would be protected in such a manner. -
I salute your 40580 tribute as someone who just built a spaceship 40580 tribute myself. Super impressive mech building skills!

She is a beast! My favorite sections are how the rover can slot into the ship and deploy. Some impressive Lego engineering there. I have to agree with GeoBrick the back side looks plain and is a literal wall of bricks. I understand the reasoning is because of the shape and keeping within the stud length limit. Overall a lot to love such as the dual cockpits, multi levels, vehicle bay, and command tower. A full playset in a ship!

[MOCs] The adventures of Ned, a FebRovery story
Brickshipyard replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That CS Baby sure is an active participant :0. Great to witness such effect for FebRovery and the helpful TV special coverage! -
I always love a solid Blacktron 1 man fighter, having just posted one myself, so great to see your design! It's almost like you took a traditional city plane design and turned the head around to face backwards. Now the tail makes a good targeting crosshair :).

For a first CS build you made a rather excellent craft! I am most drawn to the well sculpted under belly and landing gear. Very handsome.

[MOC] Missed Space Faction Contest Entry
Brickshipyard replied to Brickshipyard's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks Danth and A Forest of Lego for checking out my models! The colors and designs were a lot of fun to play with, but the models were rushed and I had very limited parts with me at the time. -
Hello to all in the midst of their Feb chilling and building. I just wanted to share my faction creations that I ran out of time with back in Aug - Sept 2022. The contest was really neat and tasked contestants to create 2 factions from almost any theme that would compete or fight against each other. I ran out of time to post, but you can see the fun I had with old Explorien, Spyrius (the robotic heads) and newer Nexo knight parts. I love the contrast of purple, white, and the newer shade or orange, plus trans light green and dark blue. The baseplates are actually from the Aquasharks theme and the Scorptron torsos from the latest SW Republic tank set. A real mash of themes here. I suppose the faction story I was going here is pretty traditional in Lego space lore: an invader force, the Scorptrons detected a desirable mineral resource on the Ox-tron planet and seek to harvest it. The usually peaceful, cybernetic Ox-tron faction reacts with hostility against Scorptron's invasion and harvesting. While the Ox-tronians are mostly a land based forced and not very quick, their bio mechanical bodies are powerful and fearsome. Scorptron forces, with smaller vehicles, mechs, and isolated outposts are unprepared for what they unleashed! Agility and clever tactics are their only defense on the Ox-tron planet! :0 Let me know your thoughts or comments. I probably won't revisit this theme any time soon, except to make some digital artwork.

[CSE] Blacktron Dark Hornet (40580 Alternate Build)
Brickshipyard replied to grohl's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Another sick Blacktron spaceship MOC! You integrated the yellow and trans red markings into a convincing hornet color scheme. Best of luck in the contest! -
Slight discount from Walmart. Otherwise only from Lego like Pchan1983 said. Initially I didn't care for this set, but since seeing more images it has grown on me. Not a bad starter set that could lead to bigger outdoor and Sci-fi MOCs.

[MOC] Shield Generator Bunker, Forest Moon of Endor
Brickshipyard replied to A_Goodman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So good!! You captured the scene beautifully. I suppose that one Imperial Scout Trooper raising his hands was an imposter Rebel? ;) -
I love the Taintive IV hallway fight! Super dynamic and it captures the Rebel trooper's fear and domination by Vader quite accurately.

[CSE] Classic Space LORS-3T and mini LDRC
Brickshipyard replied to mms legobuilding's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I dig the aerodynamic shaping! Great entry into the contest. I suggest you use bricksafe to host images of your MOCs mms legobuilding so that icm and others can view them. Totally free and a nice altnative to Flickr. Bricksafe is used by rebrickable. -
You should post your entry Prof! Such a sweet looking ship and the M-tron faction builders magnetized their creativity for this contest :).
-
Very cool CS to SW crossover ship! The U-wing design makes a worthy ship for the treatment and I love the engines, plus windscreen integration. Also, your post photo editing skills are on point! I can't wait to show you my crossover and see what you think :). Not a U-wing though!

[MOC]THE EXPLORIENS GALAXY BASE (Ultimate Fantasy)
Brickshipyard replied to MRYJ's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Great to see the Exploriens getting a decent base layout here! The base appears to functions as a strategic ship repair/refuel area, perfect for staging the space voyages :). The photography and lighting is top and your passion as a space and mecha AFOL can be felt.- 5 replies

I know this is your original design before the Blacktron GWP, but it's very fun to think this ship could be related, yet with a ton of upgrades. I like the rear the most and then the transition to the exposed frame work back to the smooth cockpit area.
-
Beautifully designed Ice Planet Jet! I almost love the underside as much as the top. Smooth and slick just like the icy environment it flies through!

[CSE] Space Police 1 Enforcer
Brickshipyard replied to Mandalore_The_Indomitable's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Cool!!! We can always use more SPI MOCs! I like that the frame has a tactical fighter jet profile. Perfect for intercepting some Blacktron baddies! -
Cool contest entry! Blacktron I is so hawt right now ;). Especially with the GWP release.
-
Excellent and practical cargo transporter! I really like the cargo crate, which is identical to the train and ship crates of the late 80s/early 90s in the Town/City sets. My only criticism is the transporter is too white and needs more black and trans red elements. Otherwise, what a great ship for the Futuron faction!
-
Wow! You created a simply stunning vessel of the seas! Without reading the details and scrolling through your images, I was like hmmmmm, these figures remind me of an early 2000s Naval movie... especially the younger looking lads. What do you know! You based the ship and crew off the Master and Commander movie, which was an excellent flick.

Whoa very nice build! Lots of intricate rock shaping. The narrow river and tall cliffs make a perfect ambush for... who are the blue skinned guys? Happy Halloween btw!
