Since 2022 marks 30 years (!!!) since the release of the wonderful Black Knight's castle set 6034, I wanted to make this special, expanded scale MOC. Really this MOC is a Frankenstein of many Lego themes and even non-Lego pieces! For example, the knight is a Technic figure riding a Belville horse. His armor, shield, and feathers are custom sketched paper by myself. Other parts of the set use the biggest system scale castle doors and regular pieces. Finally, Black Monarch's ghost is actually from the Playmobile line (yes he glows in the dark!). I've had this idea for 2 years now and decided with the 30 year anniversary I had to bring it to life! I hope you enjoy Lego Castle fans and Happy Halloween!

(moc) "Star Warsified" RF-101C Voodoo

No worries, it's been a busy fall season! Ahhh ok, the storage doors are an entry way to the cockpit. Also thank you dvw2 for explaining the source material aircraft. -
(moc) "Star Warsified" RF-101C Voodoo
Brickshipyard replied to LordsofMedieval's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I am not sure why no one has commented on this MOC, but I'll go ahead and say it's very cool! I am not familiar with the real source material, but I can Republic ARC-170 vibes especially in the nose area to middle area. The rear landing gear looks a little strange at those angles, but I understand those were the attachment points with the wings. What is behind the storage doors, or is that how the pilots enter/exit? -
Star Destroyer - Set 75055 UCS Mod
Brickshipyard replied to rx79gez8gundam's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Since I missed the original posting, I'll say now this mod is amazing and a great way not to fork over piles of credits for the UCS Star Destroyer! Set 75055 really is all around good Star Destroyer you can mod both externally and internally. It's frame is quite stable compared to the 2006 Star Destroyer, although it lacked the "hangar" and bridge that could hold mini-figures. I'll try to post my 75055 MOC which has a redone frame to accommodate interior sections like hangars, etc. Anyways, stellar job and I also note you completed the wedge triangle at the bottom, not an easy task!- 11 replies

[MOC] 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Revisited
Brickshipyard replied to legolux1973's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love this MOC! I own the official set and your remake really upgrades the details. Like Falcrum said, your model is elegant in a way befitting the Mon Cal ships. -
Happy October Eurobricks community! I've shifted away from contest building back to making MOCs in the Star Wars universe and here is one I take a lot of pride in, the Imperial Shuttle in midi scale. I've built bigger and more detailed versions (this is version 8 for me over 20 years) that were closer to minifigure scale with all the bells and whistles. However, this version hits the sweet spot IMO, because it's just a bit downsized from Lego's 2001 Shuttle. I really liked Lego's first Imperial Shuttle - it was sturdy, simple in that early SW Lego way, and got the transport job done. My goal was to capture those same qualities and to add higher accuracy and features. I believe it does that reasonably well with retractable landing gear, opening ramps, cockpit, etc. Please have a look at the photos and let me know what you think! Instructions are available at Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-126385/thebrickshipyard/imperial-shuttle-lambda-class-midi-scale/#details

Awesome castle creation! I like the detailed floors and accessible swinging walls. Quite a cozy Black Knights Fortress :).

[VOTING] Create a Theme Contest - Best Theme Category
Brickshipyard replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
3 - 1 point 9 - 1 point 17 - 1 point -
The most unique lego contest I have seen in years! So kudos for coming up with the contest because it has a lot of creativity potential for the community. Having said that, a few gray areas exist in what topics the participants can mold their theme around. For example, The Lego Company (TLC) has its own rules, especially for introducing sets on its Lego ideas platforms. Some are no duh type of rules (no sex, profanity, racism, etc) and it's safe to assume that would apply here too. Yet Lego has broken its own rules in the past when it comes to warfare for example (not modern warfare like tanks and such, but factions fighting each other with weapons). First question: is it acceptable to use weapons in our builds with factions fighting each other? Second question: can the theme be competing or "fighting" over a resource? This point is where things get tricky because often some of Lego's best themes always revolve over two factions battling over a resource, whether that is territory, gold, diamonds, even cash, or made up resources. For example, the Aquazone theme pits two under water factions competing to mine crystals (energy) off the ocean floor. Very cool concept, but total fantasy of course. What if I submitted a theme involving a real life resource such as water? Because that resource is real maybe that goes too far into the real world and involves politics, campaigns, and environmental concerns? Even if the factions are goofy and made up. Apologies for getting technical here, but Lego's ambiguity on acceptable content within themes has always been a discussion point and this contest mimic's the creation power Lego has. Because Eurobricks usually follows TLC's guidelines, but is not required to follow them, these questions seem relevant. The final point is that historically, the most popular Lego themes always involve some controversy: factions, fighting, competition, and often over resources which defy or bend the "rules". Their raison d'être. Thanks.

These Senators are so colorful and inspired, I had a feeling when first seeing them they would rise to the top! Congrats Inconspicuous on a very strong line up. -

Thanks MKJoshA, Ephseb, and Oky for the compliments! I am very proud of how this vignette turned out and hope to create more of similar quality in the future. -
Whoa! This news is literally the best way to end the weekend. Thank you to panel of judges for recognizing the hard work I put into my vignette. Congrats to the other winners and thanks to everyone else who participated to make it a competitive contest. The timing of this boost really picks up my spirits!

[M4-22 - Alphabet Fighter] – J-wing Corvette
Brickshipyard replied to Brickshipyard's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Thanks for checking out my entry MKJoshA and for giving it's sizing a pass! I suppose just like the real Corelian ships, most of the innards are for systems and not much leftover space for people. In summary, this ship was not designed for cargo transport. -
[M4-22 - Brick Built Creature] – Kowakian Monkey-lizard.
Brickshipyard replied to jp-30's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Hah! He is a great build! You def nailed the facial structure and those ears have a fun blend of sail and tree trunk pieces. My favorite and most unexpected brick built creature of the contest :D. -
[M4-22 - 12x12 Vignette] - Betrayal at Bespin Cloud City
Brickshipyard replied to Brickshipyard's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Hey Thanks Yperio_Bricks! I appreciate your comment and support :D. Initially I started with the rear looking through the window from the viewer's perspective, but decided it was too tough to see the sky effects. A forced perspective. I think this way works much better for atmosphere. I may make some free instructions if it's popular enough. My brother already asked for one and he does not display any Lego, so I must be on to something. -
I created this special vignette for the contest. To arrive at the finished model, I re-watched Bespin Cloud City scenes from the Empire Strikes Back to find the right one with high visual impact. The one I selected is when Leia peers out the Cloud City apartment in frustration as a cloud car zips by. She knows something is wrong and rightfully does not trust Lando’s motives, she just cannot prove it. Her gut or force awareness… Han enters the suite and attempts to reassure her everything is under control without success. A scene not depicted in the movie, but estimated to happen shortly before and during the Rebel’s arrival is Lando’s covert meeting with the Imperials to arrange for the trap. His trusted sidekick Lobot and a Bespin Guard are in attendance. The build involves a mixture of micro such as the cloud car, sky, and overall saucer shape of Cloud City and macro such as the apartment building with window. I used bright orange pieces to capture the right feel of the sky, plus some purple and pinkish hued plates to enhance the mood. The new cloud pieces from the Mario sets offered a simple and effective cloud motif. The whole vignette sits on a 12 X 12 stud base. - theBrickshipyard

Alright, for my second entry into this contest I went and redesigned a Taintive IV into a J-wing corvette. Does this ship exceed the size limit? Possibly, but it sure has some muscles huh? :D It comfortably sits 2 pilots in the front cockpit and does have ample cargo space in the middle. However, for it's bulk, most interior space is limited and the main focus is on the systems, weapons, and oversized engines. The back story for this ship was that the Rebel Alliance salvaged a heavily damaged Correllian Corvette from a space battle, with only the engines, mid hull section, and radar systems in good enough condition to be stripped. The rest of the ship had to be scrapped. Therefore, Rebel engineers decided to try a new approach by rotating the main engines in a vertical formation, beefing up the central hull, and add the distinctive J hook at the front to form a cockpit area with greater field of view. Additionally, 2 heavy double laser cannons were placed on the front to give the ship firepower that could punch through Imperial Blockades with more force. Naturally, the Rebel Marines caught wind of this unique ship modification within the fleet and pulled a number of strings with high command to add the ship into their squadron. The J-wing corvette probably lacks a stealthy enough profile for long term use with the Rebel Marines and needs a hangar bay for dropship capabilities. However, for now the enhanced firepower, powerful engines, and strengthened hull check enough boxes for the Rebel Marine's objectives. As you can see, photographing the ship was a challenge because it barely fit into my light box ;). I also discovered dark blue is a difficult color even with LED lights to capture. - theBrickshipyard

Hello Eurobricks Community, I am pleased to introduce my entry for the purist minifigures category: the Rebel Alliance Marines. In this Marine unit we have a battle tested Duros Commander (center), a courageous, young Lieutenant to his immediate left, a skilled, elite long-range specialist/ sergeant (female to Commander's immediate right), a hotshot and daredevil pilot on the Commander's far left, and finally a heavy duty weapons expert and tank of a Marine Corporal on the Commander's far right. Together, they compose one of the Rebel Alliance's most elite fighting forces who are assigned the most critical and high stakes missions against the Empire. They are all trained for zero-g environments (space and ship boarding combat), different terrains, and advanced weapon handling. Additionally, they are cut from a different cloth than the typical Alliance soldier and have deeper motivations for fighting against Imperials (some being former Imperials themselves). Lore aside, I have been researching these very cool Rebels for a while now and wanted to put them in Lego form. Also this contest is a great opportunity to introduce them. Dark blue with white, dark gray, and red highlights seemed the ideal way to present them and is somewhat source accurate. Some torsos from the old Alpha Team figures are used, along with newer torsos from the Marvel figure line. Their standard full armor helmet is a unique blend of the motorcycle helmet and red spaceman visor flipped upside down. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. - TheBrickshipyard

[M4-22 - 12x12 Vignette] Scarif data vault entrance
Brickshipyard replied to CrappyMocMaker's topic in Watto's Junkyard
I had a good chuckle reading your write up :D. Humor aside, you made a very decent vignette and it fully convinces it is part of larger Imperial facility. Rogue One had some excellent source material. Good luck in the contest! -
[M4-22 - 12x12 Vignette] Transmission from Lord Sidious
Brickshipyard replied to Artizan's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Stunning vignette Artizan! The wall angles and use of the planet piece contribute nicely to the scene. You even made a nice pattern using those spring bricks on the bottom. The subtle techniques help to recreate this scene. Good job! -
[M4-22 - Alphabet Fighter] T-wing Heavy Assault Craft
Brickshipyard replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Awesome T-wing design Mandlorianknight and I like it better than legends one which was such a weak craft. Like an after thought. You incorporated a lot of clean angles and a catching color scheme. I know you had to follow the rules of the contest, but the rear compartment does have the perfect setup for a passenger bay. Maybe later you can make into a drop-ship. -
Good copy. Thanks for the clarification. Now to get to work!

Hello. Question for the MODs: would you allow a star ship entry based on the Aurebesh Alphabet found in Star Wars or should we only stick with the English Alphabet? Thanks.

Thanks for making this topic and I agree it's a real shame Pirates appear to be snubbed on the Bricklink designer program. I did take the time yesterday to express my frustrations on their survey. Recently, I browsed the 2015 Pirate line and even though the play set designs were weak, the figures and pieces had a lot of charm. The designers should have taken the chance to give us a medium sized Bluecoat ship, among other things. Anyways, lets hope that Bricklink can eventually provide those type of Pirate sets.
