  1. Yeah, I cannot say I am a huge fan based on what I've seen. It looks okay, but I would have expected better from a theme that (in my opinion) has largely been excellent, especially since Lego clearly has experience with dragons. My opinion on it might soften once we get some more pictures of it, but I've been trying not to buy as many dragons lately, so I will probably skip this one.
  2. That is my worry as well. I can't see myself picking it up for anymore than $60, and even then I'd probably cringe a bit at the cost. It would be one thing if I had nothing else to buy, but this is already looking to be an expensive year. I definitely want to get the armory, but I don't know if that will be any time soon.
  3. Overall I think it looks decent, though I'm definitely waiting for a sale based on the rumored price. I somehow still don't have Nick Fury, so it'll be nice to finally get him as well.
  4. I really still don't understand why they always hold them until August for North America, but I guess I wouldn't be buying many (if any) of them right at launch, so it's not the end of the world. Is there any word on official USD prices? I'm hoping the Dragon isn't quite as expensive over here, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  5. The Heavenly Realm looks perfect. I imagine it'll be pretty expensive, but I will be buying it no matter what.
  6. The new wave looks fantastic, so much so that I really don't know which sets to pick up. The three smaller ninja vehicles don't interest me as much, but the rest are all great. The Crystal King is super unique, and the just looks really cool. Kai's vehicle is also good, but I can live without it. I'd also be remiss I'd I didn't mention the Samurai X Mech and the Ultra Dragon. Both of those general archetypes are highly saturated for Ninjago, but those two are certainly among the best they ever made. All in all an amazing wave. I'll probably pick up at least either the Crystal King and either the Dragon or the Mech, and maybe the other along with the temple if I can swing it.
  7. I don't think whether a set is a D2C or not is typically a deciding factor in how good the build is, so I wouldn't worry. If Lego is expecting that people will pay $200+ for a set, it's got to be good, D2C or otherwise.
  8. I had the exact same thought. I don't usually buy more than one of an army builder, but I actually was considering picking up another one or two of them. It not being a part of the deal doesn't make much sense to me, but if I had to guess Lego probably didn't bother because they know it'll sell either way.
  9. Based on what we're hearing I think a crab droid would make sense, but Lego does occasionally add things in that don't make too much sense, so I don't think a Dwarf Spider Droid is off the table.
  10. Yeah I didn't see much interest in the UCS Bomber either. It's always seemed to me that most of the demand for a Tie Bomber is specifically for a minifig-scale model, though even then it's hardly the most requested ship.
  11. If it includes spoiler characters then I feel like they might want to push it out a little further, but then again, I'm not really sure how far they can push it back since it's supposed to release at some point in May. Maybe a week or two after it releases, so they can still capitalize on the hype without spoiling most people. I guess Lego themselves probably don't care if they spoil people on plot points, but I would think Disney would prefer for them not to reveal anything too major before most people have seen it.
  12. I think it's fair to say that we will almost certainly see the sets in high resolution around the beginning of May. Other than that this stuff just varies a lot, as we have already seen this upcoming wave having been leaked in three separate instances (the lone image of Zane's jet, the leak of most of the sets on the gray background, and the recent extremely grainy pictures). It is not out of the realm of possibility that we could see the new sets any day now in better quality leaks, or even an official reveal, but I think it is best to just keep expectations low since there's an even more likely chance that we will be waiting until May. If we the sets before May then it will be a pleasant surprise, but expecting them within the next week might not be a great idea.
  13. I don't really think this "leak" holds much water as is, but I do think the timing makes a lot of sense. Unless they end up introducing a new Razorcrest somewhere down the line, the ship is only becoming less relevant as time passes, despite it being a pretty popular ship from a super popular series. If Lego is at all interested in making a UCS Razorcrest, it would be in their best interest to do it sooner rather than later. Obviously there's no precedent for them doing a UCS based on a TV show, but the Mandalorian is popular enough that it would sell at least as well as some of the other recent UCS choices.
  14. At the moment we don't have any way of knowing for sure one way or the other if Legacy is done, but I don't think it seems especially likely that it will come back since CORE does fill a similar position. I wouldn't be surprised if Legacy as a concept is explored again at some point, but I did feel like it was starting to feel a little long in the tooth, so maybe Lego just felt the same way.
  15. No, I think you're 100% right. Luke is fun but not really all that interesting as a minifigure, whereas Rebel Friend would work well as an army builder and as a cool reference to one of the most popular games of the Wii/Xbox 360/PS3 generation. I assume Luke was chosen since he has a lot more appeal to the general public, but it does feel like a missed opportunity.
  16. I hate that this seems realistic.
  17. Bad Batch originally seemed like it might be a possibility, but Promobricks mentioned that it comes with a Dwarf Spider droid, so unless it's based on something from the next season then it wouldn't really make sense.
  18. I would be surprised if it isn't based on Episode II, given that the only other option is Clone Wars. Clone Wars has gotten some sets lately, but the fact that Episode II has been neglected for so long and that we already know for sure that we're getting Obi-Wan's star fighter from that movie makes me think Lego is going to try and cover some of that ground this year. The AT-TE hasn't played a major role in any Star Wars media as far as I can remember, so I think Lego will probably just go with its most famous appearance, that being the AoTC version.
  19. I think it is also worth pointing out that we already know about the sets for the next wave, and the two largest are a dragon and a mech. We definitely are going to keep getting big dragons and mechs in the future, Lego just wants to have a good mix of sizes and price points available at any given time. Next year we'll probably get some more small dragons and mechs in the first wave, then some larger ones in the summer of 2023, and so on until they find that people are tired of them (assuming that ever happens).
  20. I don't know why I didn't think of that myself, I would be willing to bet that this is probably what happened. Hopefully we see some better pictures within the next few weeks.
  21. Considering how abysmal the quality of the images is, it kind of feels like someone must have intentionally made them look worse. Is there any reason a leaker might do that, or were the pictures actually just taken on a potato?
  22. The tank (unsurprisingly) looks better in the new images. I still think it's a tad too expensive, so I will probably get one once it goes on sale. The highlight for me (and I think almost everyone else here) has got to be the new Mace and clone figures, they all look really good. I was really expecting to get the UCS Gunship version of Mace in this set, but I much prefer this new one so it's no skin off my back.
  23. I think I'd prefer Core. Both have their advantages, but one problem I had with Legacy was that the villain factions always ended up being really small since there were so many factions to be covered in each wave. The Core wave could have been better in terms of giving us more villains, but I think in theory focusing on just one faction would be better. I don't think there's much to be said about the new leaks, but I do like the proportions of the temple. The Samurai X mech also looks smaller than I was expecting, but I wonder if it might just be made to look smaller on the box so it can all fit on there.
  24. I think part of the problem is that they all have that border around them. It's not really what my eyes go to at first, but I imagine those eat up a fair number of parts, which in turn makes the sets more expensive. It also kind of feels like Lego is charging a little more than they would have normally since these are very much aimed at adults, who naturally can afford to spend a little bit more, but that's purely speculation on my end. The prices of these sets were probably set before everyone knew how bad the recent inflation (in the US at least) has been, so if Lego is going to factor that in, we probably haven't even seen the effects of that yet.
  25. The Fighter Tank is one of those sets that looks just alright, but if I see it on sale I'll probably pick it up. The figs are pretty nice, though I still find it strange that they opted not to go with one of the more highly requested Clone legions.
