  1. I'd like to see more b models again. If there are models targeted for kids the instructions should be available printed in the set. Kids should be able to build and learn sth. without the need of a screen or to print tons of pages with a background colour. I enjoyed b models as a kid and kept building back and forth and still would build them just for fun and to relax :) And printed instructions are way better than on screen in my opinion (yes, I could print instructions).
  2. What if those popular parts are bought by resellers (scaplers)? Happens a lot these days and is totally a business case. Buy reasonable priced from Lego and sell expensive while it is out of stock. Only put a smaller number into your shop not to be suspicious. When there are finally enough parts available you can still sell it for a reasonable price with a smaller margin. The tools to scan onlineshops and buy automatically are available
  3. Hey, I am not into cranes thus I have no clue what needs to be where or how realistic this set-up is but your crane looks awesome and the size is beyond impressive! I would love to see some video of it lifting a small Lego set :)
  4. I would really like if Lego released such a great custom chain/ sprocket design. To me it would feel more Lego than their standard track / sprocket design made from "special" pieces and just look great :)
  5. There is also a comparison on eurobricks :)
  6. Just mount them in a line and compress them. The harder shock will be slightly longer than the soft one :)
  7. Was really tempted to buy 42145 & 42144 BUT checking my surroundings I found 42053 (incl. PF), 42042, 42052 and 9396 for a total of 200€ (4 different private sellers :) Only had to get two instructions separately as I prefer building from paper. Which forced me to make bricklink orders which made me buy more pieces as it absolutely does not make any sense to buy only instructions and pay shipping
  8. Great model. Wish this would make it to the front-page as it really shows what I like in technic builds. Clever functions although it's an alternate model with part limitation! Technic is more than diecast like models :)
  9. This is great. I suggest you make some nice pictures and it gets frontpaged! It is not Lego Lego but I still would like to see it there :) ...and if you ever share the files please let the forum know ;)
  10. Hi, Philo made a NXT joystick which uses two hubs and I believe they use Bluetooth to communicate. Maybe you can use some of his code. NXT joystick by Philo
  11. I really like the model and it needs some skills to fit everything in there :) one thing is that this was a 'WIP for month' as written in the description in the first posting? Is this allowed? I thought the spirit of the contest is to build a model in the given time for the contest
  12. This is on another level! Just amazing
  13. For the instructions simply search the internet for "the spawn 42039". It took me two more clicks to get the instructions...
  14. This question bugs me a lot and a looked a little bit into it. Again I am no expert. Your looking at this in the wrong way. Changing the gearing with the same motor doesn't help as you will loose torque. You would need another motor with the same characteristics but a none loaded rpm of 2000 instead of BUT the problem is that at 50km/h you don't have the stalled current it is the point where the motor has not enough power to further accelerated but keep the speed thus the whole thing does not work... Link to a page with details on this topic
  15. I am not sure but with the different gearing you double the rpm at the wheel but cut the torque in half. Even if the motor has its peak power at half the none loaded rpm the 50% loss in torque won't be compensated. Another problem is you can't just go from 50km/h to 100km/h. You have to hit the sweet spot where the motor rpm is actually 50% of the none loaded rpm.
  16. I like the MOD a Lego set idea. But I would prefer mod whatever you like but keep close to the original structure or looks. So it doesn't matter if the helicopter goes spaceship, RC a none RC vehicle or add tons of functions. It doesn't need to be to strict as at the end the votes decide what wins and ppl. appreciate different styles. Pretty much take a set and go nuts :) This would be a contest I could join. I am short on time and skills to build a whole model and would feel bad as I can't match the the skills of others here. But I MOD a lot of Lego sets as I can focus on a single update and only have to make everything fit. Often RC mods but also gearboxes or additional functions. my proposal: take any Lego set and go nuts modding it using only Lego pieces. The forum will choose a winner based on what the majority likes most thus no restrictions needed :P
  17. Is it possible to keep the Mindstorms subforum and include the posts in the technic section? I believe the Mindstorms topics will often be pushed down fast and if someone only checks now and then for Mindstorms or a first time user might really have to dick for those topics. The idea is that a new topic in the Mindstorms subforum appears in the technic one too and you can answer in both forums. Seams complicated but what if in the technic forum someone posts a topic with [Mindstorms] it also appears in the Mindstorms subforum. Could be useful for Mindstorms topics not to get lost. On the other hand, if [Mindstorms] or similar is used it should be easy to search for those topics. Guess I am thinking to complicated 🤯
  18. I support to include Mindstorms in the Technic topic as I think it fits well and deserves more attention.
  19. About copy cats. Maybe, just maybe it's the way a mining truck or excavator looks in real life :/
  20. Hey, I believe BMS tend to drain batteries slowly when there is nothing else connected. As I am fare from experienced I hope someone with the proper technical background can comment on this. For my lego lipo battery box I placed a switch to disconnect the lipo from everything and added a lipo warner (saver). Not the buzzer as they are way too noisy for me but a super bright led.
  21. @Phondly Hey, the design is neat. My lesson learned is to make it possible to disconnect the battery from the circuit. The step down converter in my lipo battery box always burned some energy (don't ask me why) and thus managed to deep discharge and kill the lipo while it was not used for some time : ( Not sure if it applies to your setup
  22. I saw something similar before and it got on my 'I wanna build this one day' list. Your dumper looks good and seems to drive well. Any changes on building instructions or detailed pics of the mechanics and inside for a rebuild :)
  23. This is awesome. I really like when something is build I haven't seen before and thought it was impossible! I think this is better than another vehicle moc and way better than the average 350€ Lego Technic vehicle! Makes me jealous of the creativity and building skills :)
  24. This is awesome! I would like to do this to. But sadly I don't know any adults who enjoy Lego (technic).
