6th Anniversary REVIEW: 76010 Batman: The Penguin Face Off
K-Nut replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice Review! This set is definitely one of the best $10 sets out there, and is a really nice small thing to have. In fact, I think everything looks great besides the Bat-Ski or whatever it is.- 3 replies

Nice Review! I never managed to pick up this set, but I always thought it was neat. All the different areas increased the playability and 500 pieces for $30 USD?

With him being my favorite hero, I'd gotta say the GL set still. After that I'd go with the Manta set. I never thought we'd get a Black Manta fig after getting Aquaman in the 2013 Winter Wave.

Though this may be more suited to the game thread, I feel like this would be pretty out of character for Brainiac. In the DC Mythos basically he's a program that wants to take all knowledge from the universe and destroy it all so it won't change. I doubt he'd team up with the JLA, no matter how desperate.

The set looks good! The figs are great as expected, and the build is pretty good too.

Heroica RPG - Quest#100: To The Tower of Babel
K-Nut replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Dain swings the Oculoid Claw at the Mud Golem from the back row. Everyone else repeats in the same Battle Order. -
Personally, I think it's cool. It seems to be a love it or hate it set, though. I won't pick it up seeing as there's other sets I'd want first, but I think it's pretty good.

Very scary and sad topic, but the use of LEGO's illustrate's it rather nicely and is a great visual aid.

It's possible that Grodd is smaller, but still.

So if 76026 is supposedly bigger and more expensive than 76027, why is the number lower? Or is that just because the numbers are wrong?

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

Hermione's head, Tamina's head. There's a few purist solutions. I'd just like another option for a female face without the god awful cheekbones. -
Got a couple new figs t add to the collection. 1x 2010 AT-AT Han Solo 1x 2014 ISD Vader 2x 2014 Chewie 1x 2013 Slave Leia 1x Max Rebo 1x 2013 Jek 14 1x Darth Revan 1x 2014 Pilot Luke Skywalker

Got the Sea Cow and SDCC Batmobile today along with a couple OT figs including the new ISD Darth Vader, new Chewbacca, new Slave Leia, Max Rebo, and 2010 AT-AT Han Solo.
-
Managed to build my new Sea Cow and SDCC Adam West Batmobile while watching Desolation of Smaug, Empire Strikes Back, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and The Lego Movie. Not too shabby if I say so myself.

Neither did Widow's face. I really hope with the new sets we get a new face for her in the new wave, though I'm not sure how likely it is. -
Heroica RPG - Quest#100: To The Tower of Babel
K-Nut replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Sarge attacks Granite Golem from the back row and Iron Golem from the front row. Pyro posted in Quest #106 that he's out of town, so I figured we can move this along, seeing as these are who he'd probably target. -
There's a few options. You could sell him, which wouldn't be too weird I think. You could also do what Zblj said and trade him. One other thing you could do is customize a figure/figbarf with him (if that's your thing). Whenever I get doubles of any fig, I dump the head, torso, hair, and legs into different buckets so I can customize later. I do get what you say about Yazneg, though. He does have a very specific torso print that doesn't suit many other types of figures unlike Thorin and Bofur.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
K-Nut replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah. I feel like if Rhodey had a large part in the film they would have had him on one of the Comic Con posters they were releasing. He could just be a liaison to the Government in the construction of Ultron, which would mean he wouldn't really need to be in any of the sets. More back on topic, a small set with Strucker, Quicksilver, and SW could make a good buy and get us a couple good figures. Just for $10/$20ish. -
That's actually true. This wave seem to be lacking a $10 set, and the size of the Jet may not be too promising if it's just a small part of the Grodd set. Then again, we don't know how many parts the mech takes up in that set, so we still could get a nice, sizable one consisting of 200 or so pieces.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

It seems to be centered around the release of a film, though we did get some in March/April this past year for no movie. I doubt we'll get anything before AoU, though, seeing as we'd have probably heard something about it by now (and before we heard about AoU sets). We'll probably get a set or two in June to coincide with Ant Man. Whether it's Avengers Assemble or Ant Man, we don't know. -

I was counting him among the nine Avengers, though I did forget about War Machine. We also don't know how large of a roll Strucker has in the film, or if he's only in the beginning. I'm sure we'll get all the necessary figs. -
Nice crater! The saucer is nice and has a definite UFO/Area 51 feel to it.
-
I guess that's true. Cheetah was one of the first LoD characters revealed for the game, so I thought that may have led to a figure coming out.
-
I'm honestly a bit surprised they didn't end up putting Cheetah in any of the sets just so Wonder Woman could go up against someone in her rogues gallery, seeing as she's one of the main Justice League members/DC Characters (Supes has Lex/Darkseid/Brainiac, Aquaman has Manta, Flash has Grodd, GL has Sinestro, Batman has various enemies...) A purist solution isn't too hard to make though.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
K-Nut replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, with the first Avengers wave we ended up getting 14 figures (9 different) plus the Hulk in only four sets, so really about 10. That gives us room for the 9 Avengers and Ultron (plus a couple of extra drones that can be fit in with the extra set).
