They just keep getting better and better every year huh? I love that kitchen and patio area. One thing though, the way the pictures are angled made my eyes hurt. Could just be me though.

Well first off, I love the miniland scale and you pulled it off really well. Second, is chess that big of a deal over in Europe that its shown live?

That monster truck looks more like a random off-road pick up truck than a monster truck.

I'm honestly a little bit nervous about the pats this week. That front seven is very scary to me with the pats shaky o-line this year.

Where did that set come from? It's not on brickset and I didn't see it in the wal-mart leaks. Hmmm

Do you have a picture of the spreadsheet at all that you could post? I've done one as well and I'd love to see yours.

Winter Village: Ferris Wheel (Competition Entry)
tomdobs55 replied to Paperballpark's topic in LEGO Town
As others said, I'm surprised you fit it on a 16x16. Good luck in the contest!! Love the stair railings with the control sticks -
Hot tub time machine. I've seen it before but just watched it again last night. So much funnier than I expected it to be. White buffalo...

I like the idea of a UCS theme for a city, but aren't we already getting that in the modular series? Highly detailed models aimed at AFOLs?

Oh okay I see it now. My first glance they seemed to be one piece wheels like the old space wheels.

What are the wheels on the new fire truck? I feel like I've never seen them before.

What about sites for instructions for mocs? I can't think of the names off hand but I know one of them had a chili's restaurant on it. Anyone use that or know of any others?

Quick check: LDD or real bricks?
tomdobs55 replied to Mataroa's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The majority of my Lego is packed away in storage at the moment so I generally do most building in LDD. That being said I'm generally much more impressed when a MOC i's in real brick because the way the colors and whatnot come together in real life seems much better when photographed as opposed to a screenshot of a computer program. As an aside those who say it's easier to build in a computer program have apparently never tried to make an entire modular building in LDD. Not as easy as it looks. -
We all love the great discussions, MOC's, and news here on Eurobricks, but I'm wondering what are some other favorite sites/blogs for Lego? My 2 personal favorites happen to be brickset.com and the new elementary blog. Brickset always seems to have great news and is a fantastic resource for looking up old sets and parts. I'm not part of the forums over there so I can't speak for the discussions they have, but I'm definitely a fan of the site. The new elementary is a fantastic blog detailing new parts and some old ones aswell. It goes into uses and is just generally a good resource for all things Lego elements. So guys what's your favorites? I can think of a few more but I'll see where this post goes.

.....Ummmm okay...... Anyway...I went as a dad, and my fiancee went as a mom. Kids were ghosts, the 3 year olds, and my 5 year old boy was a trashman complete with homemade cardboard trashtruck made by my fiancee, how I love her. I work in Lego and she creates in cardboard.

LDD and chromebook
tomdobs55 replied to tomdobs55's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Woah that seems a little complicated for my level of computing...maybe we'll stick with a windows machine -
I used to listen to talkradar from gamesradar.com, but it has since ended. The guys who did it now run the lasertime podcast which is a hysterical take on pop culture. I also really like the how stuff works podcasts. As for web series, I always liked red vs blue .

You see $800 I see 800 VIP points hehehe...but on a serious note, (haha pun!) I believe it's for stuff like team building exercises and whatnot in big businesses

So after my laptop became a useless expensive blue brick, I'm thinking of what to get when I finally replace it. Seeing as I really only use a computer for the internet and watching movies/tv, I'm thinking of a chromebook. I already use chrome for a web browser plus google docs for most of my documents anyway it seems like a good idea. I realized what I miss the most is LDD! Does it run on a chromebook? Or should I stick with a PC?

LegoLand Discovery Center to Open in Boston MA May 2014

This is fantastic, I can walk there!! And opening right around my lego-fan son's birthday is icing on the cake! -
I think Batman vs Iron Man would be a good fight, between the gadgets and genius level intelligence between the two it might last forever. My money would be on Iron Man though, better suit.

The giant duck with human hands is quite possibly the most terrifying thing I have ever seen. I'd be surprised if Lego sold anything with that ad.

You mean George Carlin right? Anyway, this really is fantastic setup you have there, so many details! I like the fact that Cranky is represented

In the press release for the Parisian restaurant, it only mentions the town hall and palace cinemas as available modulars
