Looks pretty funny! Not sure if it's too goofy even for Neville (I know, I can't believe I said that either), it's growing on me though!
-
I'm happy. Madam Pomfrey, plus variant Trelawney and Moody? Classroom specific props and stickers in the Moments sets? Count me in. I've gone past wanting specific castle parts to be built because LEGO have clearly decided to change it up, any exterior part of the castle can be MOC'd if so desired anyway. I'm sticking around for new minifigures, new prints, interesting minibuilds etc and sounds like we'll get a fair amount of that with 3 of the 4 Winter sets.
-
In the spirit of the set I hope JVN is given a skirt.
-
What do we think for the other hairpieces? I'm guessing JVN will have Phoebe's hair in brown, Antoni will have the Cedric Diggory or the spiky hairpiece, and Bobby will have the spiky hairpiece OR a new moulded hat piece. Karamo has to be in a bomber jacket!
-
Oh yeah, that's right... I think even if DH was going to happen they'd skip that, as it is very dark. In terms of non-speaking Professors/Staff, we have Vector, Binns and Madam Pince left (and only Binns was left out of the films, Vector was a "cameo" role). I suppose you could get real obscure and add in Grubbly-Plank and the Ancient Runes teacher, who I think is called Professor Babbling but was only named outside the books. (We've had Sinistra so I say anything is possible at this point, although I suspect LEGO were pushing for more diversity in their sets and opted for the non-white Professor in that instance).
-
Do you mean the scene where Harry and Ginny are screamed out of the library for eating an easter egg? I would love that but alas, only in the books. However, Pince does appear in the films as much as Sinistra did so never say never! Padma - I just use the Cho from the Hogwarts Students Accessory set (I swapped out CMF Cho's face for Rose Tico's), the resemblance is almost there to be honest. There's so many minifigures left to see and to be honest I would rather have the odd new minifigure here and there. Sirius (OoTP), Tonks (OoTP), Aberforth, Percy, Bill and Rita are the big missing ones for me.

I agree with this, the Divination and DADA sets will hopefully give us some excellent minibuilds for MOC classrooms, so much appeal for me. Plus Moody and Trelawney figures, which we haven't had since 2018! Thematically, perhaps yes Lupin would make more sense as he and Trelawney feature in Prisoner of Azkaban, but maybe we'll see him elsewhere this year. I wonder if they'll mix up Trelawney and Moody's moulds, CMF Ginnys hair in a tan colour would work well for Trelawney actually. A moulded eye piece attached to hair for Moody would rock (I'm not holding out hope though). Not mad about the Hospital Wing based on the description, but count me in for Madam Pomfrey. I think with her, we've covered off all Hogwarts Staff with a speaking role in the films, is that correct? The trunk could be interesting, I get the feeling it might be a bunch of pieces we've had before though that's being pushed out. Do we think this is it for Moments waves? Perhaps they're going down to 2 per year, thinking they overdid it last year? They could go back and do DADA Lockhart/Lupin, Care of Magical Creatures, Slughorn's Potions. Gryffindor and Slytherin Common Rooms in miniature book forms would be super cool too. Or knowing LEGO, we'll never see Moments again.
-
New Pomfrey, Trelawney and Moody minifigs? I'll take it! Due to MOCs making most Hogwarts expansions possible with a bit of creativity, I'm here for new minifigs more than new sets at this point (Deathly Hallows nonwithstanding).
-
If the theme is going evergreen, do we think we will see a third CMF next year? AFAIK, no theme has got more than 2 waves other than, obviously the main CMF and The LEGO Movie franchises. Assuming we'd see Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Luna and Neville again, I would like to see the following based on the later films: 01 Harry - Actually drawing a blank here, perhaps in yet another Gryffindor uniform variation. 02 Hermione - Slughorns Potions with a unique bushier hair model, distressed uniform, love potion cauldron 03 Ron - Quidditch uniform, with removable chest guard and helmet. A sickly face and a victorious face. New broom mould/build 04 Dumbledore - Half-Blood Prince (greyer tinge compared to the lighter blue version) with no hat, greyed hand and a firestorm piece to represent the Cave 05 Luna - Order of the Phoenix, Forbidden Forest with baby Thestral build 06 Neville - Order of the Phoenix (blue tank top) with a Mimbulus Mimbletonia unique mould 07 Draco Malfoy - HBP Suit with something Room of Requirement themed i.e. a bird or apple 08 Professor McGonagall - Darker outfit based on later films, new hairpiece based off her neat DH hair, plus her Animagus cat form 09 Sirius Black - Order of the Phoenix suit, not sure on an accessory as a full dog mould might be a bit much for a CMF bag. 10 Kreacher - Probably Slytherin's Locket 11 Nymphadora Tonks - Order of the Phoenix, Purple hair with a duck face/attachment somehow? 12 Rita Skeeter - green suit with a copy of a Daily Prophet and a quick quotes quill! I doubt we will see Crimes of Grindelwald minifigs again unless they revisit it for the next film, but that would have been perfect for a 12-minifig CMF too. Newt, Jacob, Queenie, Tina, Credence, Grindelwald... plus Dumbledore, Nagini, Leta, Theseus, Yusuf and Nicolas Flamel.

For next year I'm just hoping that we fill the gaps with some minifigures from the later films, such as Sirius Black in his suave suit, Aberforth, duck-faced Tonks etc. I'm not too fussed about specific Hogwarts sets as pretty much everything has been MOC'd to a brilliant standard this year anyway, it's all out there to be built. (It would be nice to see a Hogwarts D2C that is a smaller scale than 71043 but is complete with Clock Tower, bridge, Owlery, Quidditch pitch, lake etc. A man can dream). I would like to see more non-Hogwarts sets. The Leaky Cauldron and Gringotts is a biggie, I want to see what comes out of next year before resorting to MOC. On another note, I'm glad I MOC'd the other side of Diagon Alley this year, because it's kept me going with love for the theme, despite not really wanting any of this years sets.

What info we have been drip-fed hasn't exactly been presented in a positive light so peoples expectations have been lowered massively I guess. Hard to form a neutral opinion when every piece of guesswork has been met with "lower your expectation" with no real reason as to why that should happen. Perhaps hypocritically of me, that saaaaaaid....I think Hedwig is an improvement from last year but the rest of it is forgettable. Probably not going to pick it up.

Hi, I don't have photos as I am not at home to take them (although I posted some custom minifigs a few posts up where you can sort of see it in the background), but I have built all of these MOCs and display them with my DA. You can't tell they're custom, with SP's stickers that they also sell they look like an official expansion. Well worth it if you have the room. They have an instagram which may have some real photos. Just be aware that each set will set you back around £150 for the parts on BrickLink through no fault of the MOC creator, so perhaps look at splitting the builds up. Definitely worth it though!

Yeah I suppose there's easier sets to make from the earlier films... castle sections and the like. However the DH Battle of Hogwarts could have showcased a wider courtyard and the bridge and kept it child friendly. The Escape from Gringotts and perhaps the Tent are the most engaging non-Hogwarts DH sets they could make (albeit the Tent is associated with the Locket which made everybody miserable...), I just want some DH minifigures more than anything!

Ooh, what is that green torso from? -
Such a good idea! I really hope that we see some new hairpieces - JVN could have Phoebe's hair in a browner colour, Tan should surely have the one from the Everyone is Awesome set that is so clearly his hair. I know this set is just a rumour at this point but that hairpiece existing really lends credence to it.
-
I imagine it will be like a couch area, maybe a small kitchen for Antoni and a TV or something with some cameras like the Friends set? Maybe Bruley?
-
I suppose it could be a fun set but I don't really remember much of the apartment. Hopefully they have fun outfits on and Tan has a french tuck

FRIENDS 2021 - Rumours & Discussion
drewdotexe replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Licensed
This has been bothering me for a year now -- does anyone else have trouble getting the curtain in their Central Perk to stay up? Mine falls with the slightest touch and the connection feels loose. -
Just a few 'custom' minifigures I've cobbled together from spare parts and duplicates. McGonagall (made pre-Moments) with the hat swapped out for a grey bun, Lucius Malfoy with his old hair (lucky find - in my nephews box of random LEGO pieces!), Tonks (not sure about this in its entirety.... the top and bottom feel disconnected. Qi'ra's hair and Lucy from The Lego Movie's legs). And Remus Lupin (just a brown cape attachment to look like he's travelling). Here we have Lavender Brown, Parvati Patil, Ron Weasley, Cho Chang (with Rose Tico's face) and Ginny Weasley, all standard minifig-size in Hogwarts uniforms. In particular I want a Ron at this height to have robes on so hunting for pieces for that. Wish they did a robe leg-piece at full size but I don't think they do one that lines up with a Gryffindor robe torso? Ginny here has the CMF Ginny face, much nicer. Slightly updated Lavender with Eleven's skirt from ST, a third year Seamus (fits in nicely with the trio, Dean and Neville from the CMFs), and a Yule Ball Hermione with different hair. Not accurate but I really dislike the hairpiece we got. I forgot to picture a mid-sized Draco Malfoy to go with the PoA lot (just the Diagon Alley Draco with the mid-sized legs in black). Weasleys! Molly and Arthur come sporting new capes to reflect their Diagon Alley outerwear, and Arthur even has a spare scarf! Percy the Prefect, and a Ginny with the CMF face. Charlie Weasley is basically Owen Grady from Jurassic World, with Yule Ball Ron's hair to make him look like a rugged dragonologist. Up next I'm planning a full Gryffindor quidditch team, Quidditch Cho, more Hogwarts students (full size Seamus, Dean, Neville, Cormac, Malfoy's gang, Ernie, Hannah, Susan Justin etc), and an Aberforth Dumbledore. Looking at the Central Perk Phoebe I think that torso looks very magical and it's inspiring me to have a go at Charity Burbage or a Diagon Alley resident (perhaps a medium/seer/psychic?). I also want to make some Hogwarts ghosts, Madam Malkin and a Tonks out of Scarlet Witch pieces paired with the legs on the custom above. edit: sorry, I have massively mucked up the formatting on this post! forgive me. full sized pics available if you click through to flickr. @Metanoios91 Sorry for posting right at the same time as you! Must be something in the air today haha. I love that Flitwick - where does that hat come from?

Agreed, I think they've covered everything. With the mid-years there's still some obvious sets like the Triwizard challenges that they could make.
-
Think this is the year I stop buying every set, knowing that the 2018-2020 plan is over, not holding out hope for any consistent DH sets. I will be picking up Fawkes and Hogsmeade, but I think from the other sets it will be selecting minifigures and interesting parts and picking them up from BrickLink.
-
Love the new prints - that Leaky Cauldon print would really come to life with an actual pub to put it with -- perhaps a Gringotts/Leaky Cauldron D2C this year pretty please Lego??

Ordered on VIP and now there's rumour of a Friends-themed GWP coming in June, a mug of some sort allegedly. Bit annoying but at least it's just a mug and hopefully not any exclusive minifigures.
