And the 1x4 hinge tiles although they don't seem to be esential to the build One thing for sure, that roof is going to get copied by MOC'ers and currently there's only one seller who has a decent stock at ten bucks/each What I really do not like with these modern builds is the colour of the wood beams used. Chocolate brown was very rarely used in real life, it should be black. Looks dull, but that's why the walls often where quite colourfull and not using muted tan

#1. You mean green and white? #2. It's just a torso, you can find others cheaply. Creator sets are not for doll colectors #3. It's a throwback to 6074. Light blue, imho, looks terrible and was hardly used in real life #4. Dunno #5. It is rather decent and a couple or three of them could make a very nice fortified village. Needs a port cullis though and is vastly out of scale with that other recent set But at least TLG won't have to make a proper Castle theme now (until the Amaozon LOTR ) Cheers, Ole

TLG got too many complaints about there not being instructions for the alts on the back of the boxes Kids today are not MOC'ers anyway

No it's not

Well, I have enough I think. Last time I checked I had more than a thousand 1x16 beams Studded Technic beams are very usefull for themes like City and SW so I very much doubt they'll stop producing them even if they're much more expensive to make that the modern liftarms Most of them are rather cheap, even new ones, at BL if you stick to standard colours. Dark grey, green, tan and brown not so much One of the first Eiffel Towers TLG made is/was(?) in LEGOland Billund and it's made with almost entirely with blue studded Technic bricks, standing six feet tall. I'd like to replicate that with light grey parts (dark grey is unfortunally totally out of the question)

What are some Star Wars sets that TLG could never produce?
1974 replied to Pdaitabird's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, I've allready said that -
Certainly, but I don't buy modern LEGO so I don't see them It is nice to see, however, that's it's other themes than Technic that are keeping studded Technic parts alive
-
But that one doesn't break. However, Wasn't there something about the mould being worn down and that's why a 3L bar was needed to ensure the arms stick to the body? I'm sure I read that somewhere .. Anyway, back on topic! Modern Technic is not LEGO, it's an entirely different construction form and personally for me, completely irrelevant

Thank you EB!

I never broke any of the finger plates as a kid, which btw were re-designed shortly after they were launched (from two to three fingers as the two finger type got loose very quickly) I did break a number of 4081s though. Back then TLG liked to stick an antenna, or a tool, through the hole and that was a recipe for disaster! The part got re-designed with a thicker ring but that is problematic in a lot of builds. I wonder why it took so long to launch the 6019 with horizontal clip? Now, why the 4085 was re-deigned so many times over the years, I don't get? Never broke any of them and they're made of softer plastic anyway I wouldn't really put the "post-box" in that category though. Agree on the Homemaker arms, very usefull parts and nothing quite like them today The new click hinges were due to SW, can't have those X-wing wings flapping around Cheers, Ole

Will Lego ever come to make military sets?
1974 replied to MTBingNinja's topic in The Military Section
Guns, weapons and armed conflict are okay in fantasy settings. However, TLG have indeed made actual military sets, the WW1 airplanes and the nazis in the IJ theme Modern warfare is a no go, TLG will go bankrupt before that -
Actual flying LEGO would need to be made by LEGO elements for the crucial tasks, not for cosmetics only. I mean you don't even have to unbox the 9396 if you strap a JATO on it So far the motors output vs the batteries weight and the limited control options makes that absolutely 100% impossible on this planet. Maybe on Mars (as that is all the rage right now) or the Moon

6363 is in fact not a Town set but a long lost Space set ...

I despise Apple junk so that's fine with me However, you do win one of these for answering in a mature and good spirited way There's no doubt that you're passionate about Technic and I'm not at all bothered by you linking that RC chopper video here, it's just that calling it a flying LEGO thing REALLY GRINDS MA GEARZ Cheers, Ole
-
They just build a few Mindstorms operated cranes. Got diddly to do with artifial bones, so why mention that? Why didn't you just make a topic about a cool RC chopper clad in LEGO parts instead of that clickbait headline? I too can enjoy LEGO used in non conventional ways but I don't enjoy silliness like that Has nothing to do with being pure LEGO or not, you know Edit : It would be like saying : "Look at this cool Ferrari Don Johnson is driving in Miami Vice" ... that shit would get you laughed right out the door in the automotive world Cheers, Ole

Both 7824 boxes are in the BL cat Edit : And so are the 785X boxes ZezaR probably know when the change happened (Year, month, day and hour - lol!) Cheers, Ole

Factory moulding error Black Seas Barracuda, mast piece 4844 - Any interest?
1974 replied to SImmony's topic in LEGO Pirates
This part is not uncommon to find with the hinge missing. It props up on the BL forum from time to time- 12 replies

Factory moulding error Black Seas Barracuda, mast piece 4844 - Any interest?
1974 replied to SImmony's topic in LEGO Pirates
I dumped mine in the trash. I may be worth noting that I got a lot of those directly from Billund via an ex-employee (who worked in the design department). I know the subject have been discussed at the BL forum but those messages have now been purged I've had them for a number of years before I found out. It was only when I started building I notced so some could indeed be for sale on BL- 12 replies

It's not uncommon. I've had at least five out of +100 parts. The mast is not twisted, it's the top notches that are misaligned Cheers, Ole- 12 replies
