When flipped that is a nice shield. Would be cool is those parts came as inverted versions also

So more like actual body panels from a real car? With proper connection points at ends? That .. makes sense I think the current generation of panels are actually quite good for a number of things, like most machinery and stuff that needs wings. But the trend of making more and more fenders because they have to look like a certain IP vehicle is a dead end. Parts should be more generic AND come in a wider colour range Also, the integration with System parts is often very clumsy looking. Perhaps some of the studded panels could have ... gasp .. studs on them?

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

The trick is to lift the building not grab the baseplate by the edges When I'm talking about baseplates, I don't only mean the plain ones, but also road, space and crater plates. There are really no substitute for those unless you build something yourself. And takes a metric ton of parts. Kids do not have that Yeah, 6080 should never have sat on baseplates, quite a blunder there I got rid of mine (+200) because I had to scale down. If I still had the space I would still use them It's been a few years since I was a LEGO exhibition/LEGO World but I do remember seeing vast amounts of baseplates, roadplates and yons of blue plates used in pirate layouts. Can't really see that being replaced with standard plates, especially since there are NO new fancy roads with turns (wtf TLG?) and 16x16 blue plaets are rather hard to come by in massive numbers Anyway, let's just agree to disagree -
Certainly not my experience. My kids and his friends (12-13 year old) have high priase of Darth Vader and not weak sauce Bye-Low Rent. They play a lot of Battlefront

The mould was recently used and most likely not worn out. Could be in production again. And/or TLG could have a bunch in stock, we do't know why they choose the other helmet really I can see that but it's not for me. When I need a stone pattern I use 4444p01/2. I use a lot of those panels

The only "classic" about that MOC is the figs, shields and flags. It's just a generic modern take on a castle

Technic 2021 Set Discussion
1974 replied to LvdH's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The rings are one brick thick and there's an 1L liftarm in between. Interesting with the crossholes (?) between the pinholes This does not look it has been created for those two sets, that's just NPU. Must be in an upcomming Technics .. or SW set -
And it's unique to that set
-
Yeah, you're probably right. But it's a bit sad when I see an exellent MOC like the Farm that uses doors and bricks with shutter tabs that are definitely not comming back Also that Chitty Bang car is covered in chrome silver and gold. Not gonna happen

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=73878#T=C&C=1 Cool thing is that it uses the same panes and lattice parts as the common square windows

Which I don't. In fact I don't own any myself. But they do fill a gap in that I do not see standard plates, the new Technic bricks nor the new half-baked roadplates They have worked in decades yes, they suddenly do not stop working just because TLG decides not to sell them anymore. In fact I'm prettu sure that'll just drive customers to the competing brands -
Which one is that? Why do the MOC'ers keep on using long gone parts that are definitely not coming back and parts in colours currently not available?

What? That Hyrule castle looks like a decade old kiddie MOC

TLG have listen to our critque and there will not be 500 small liftarms for the dozer to move about. Instead a huge boulder comprising of 233 new panels in a brand new dirt colour made especially for this set (but still connected with blue pins) -
Look again ..

But it would be strange for Technic to go in a direction where larger and more specialized panels are used when LEGO in general are going for smaller and more generic parts, no? The current Creator cars are only so accurate because of the vast amount of new small parts that have cropped up in the last ten years (just look at the first generation VW) and the current Technic IP cars still look like broken china hastily glued together. I don't see a myriad of new smaller panels can make those sets more accurate, only a single large monocoque (as used in most normal RC vehicles)

Well, you do what you do to find enjoyment in brick building, be it LEGO or other makes. I'm no fan of TLG strategies either, I don't really care for anything made after '89 and I think modern Technic suck donkeyballs. But I still like to see what MOC'ers come up with Cheers, Ole Ach so, eine linky bitte? -
Lol! Nah, the real black falcon is in set 6081

[MOC] REXX Truck 1:15
1974 replied to KirTech LAB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A monster! However, I'm surprised how small and normal looking the actual truck is compared to those gigantic CAT and Komatsu haulers. Quite a different approach Edit : It's also not diesel-electric. Interesting https://bisindustries.com/rexx/ -
The timber in timber framing was, and is, always painted to protect the wood. Black being a common colour, but you'll see others as well. That building style was still common in the 20th century In my city we have a living museum with old buildings from all over Denmark that been taken apart and rebuild, it's called "The Old Town" (Den Gamle By) https://www.dengamleby.dk/en/den-gamle-by/about/ There are many timber framed buildings allthough I do not recall any with reddissh brown timber. Dark red and black seem to be the choice. Fascinating place! If you ever come to Denmark this place is only a hundred kilometers from Billund and coffee is on me I've scaled down a lot, but I still have a quarter of a million light/dark grey, brown, red, blue, white, yellow, black and green parts. NO new colours, thank you very much. They look cheap and the mismatch within the same colours are horrid

Then find a forum for all those cool non-LEGO sets?
