That has to be on the top 10 list of "unknown parts" on BL forum Very usefull part for creating odd angles. There's also a variant without the handlebars and the 3436 with a sloped end
-
Yes, I always thought it odd that those the lines clashed (CS and Futuron). They should have picked another colour combo for the last CS wave, like white/trans-green (used in the proto M-tron sets) or white/trans-yellow (never used 'cept the little spacecraft in 6971) There was a tiny speck of trans-green in the Futuron 6893 set. TLG never seem to stay 100% to their colour schemes, there's also a bit of light grey in Blacktron besides the Technic parts, turntables and baseplates 6953 is pathetic. That flying microwave owen is uncool and the vehicle is just way too basic 6952 fits very well with the Stalker (should have used the same windows and dropped the multitude of combinations, none of them are cool) but the 6891 is a different ballgame. It's one of my favourties, the black parts and the trans-yellow fits so well with light grey and trans-green Too bad the cargo area is so minuscule 6847 and '48 fits nicely with 6940 and 6952 The 6952 (Saturn Ranger) has a really interesting description in the UK catalogue : "Turns into an amphibian vehicle, 2 space ships, a space center, a snake vehicle - you name it!" Water and snakes confirmed on Saturn Seatron is interesting with it's two distinct colour schemes in one set. I really like the white/trans-red style

Yeah, I don't get this doll collectiong craze either. TLG took a wrong turn when they started personalizing the minifigs I went into my dark age when the Pirate line was introduced and it's was quite a shocker to me to see those bearded minifigs I also really dislike those curvy female minifigs with lipstick This is THE essence of LEGO for me. Today as well as back when I was a kid four decades ago
-
Modern blue, yellow and white are not the same colours as the original CS minifigs
-
It could very well be Lucasfilm who made that call, same thing with the NBA series I never used yellow to represent me, my friends or family in kindergarden/preschool. Their colour was determined by the piece of paper which was white
-
Works great on transparent LEGO parts as well
-
No, a yellowfaced minifig clearly represents yellowfaced humans, however, no such humans live on this planet We can circlejerk this forever. Personally, I couldn't give a flying fvck
-
If yellow represents white, why didn't TLG not just use white? A colour that was in production since before the introduction of the minifig In fact, TLG did indeed use white for figure faces as far back as 1976 with the DUPLO line, but instead they chose yellow for the fancy new minifigs (and the stiffs before them)

Lol! Speaking of interesting names, I just found out that 6825, 6872 & 6882 all have "Xenon" in their names in the 1985 UK catalogue. Yes,they do indeed look like they could part of the same faction/group I think it's a very nice looking model with some interesting building details. There's nothing quite like it I don't like the monorail extensions though. They're not in system, would have been much better to use two 8x16 baseplates Much better looking than the similar Futuron base. In fact, I think this should have been a Futuron set and the Futuron base should have been scrapped. It's really poor compared to this one and the Blacktron base MFG, Ole

General Part Discussion

Red is not only a test colour. Parts can get produced in any colour if the official model builders need them. Also parts get sold of by TLG through various channels and the parks also dump parts from time to time. Nothing mysterious about thsat But do beware there are several companies making LEGO knock offs of now, it can be very hard to tell with Technic parts!- 5,507 replies

Yes we did, we'we had proper studless parts since the mid 90's (and the Technic fig legs and the City crane parts since the mid 80's) so +25 years = decades Just about any and every part imaginable have been prototyped by TLG, I know, I've owned a lot of them Now why TLG chooses to release the parts many years after they've designed them, or not even release them at all, who knows- 5,507 replies

No, it's a neutral colour. TLG had a limited colour palette back then and I for one am thankfull that my minifigs back then weren't blue-faced I did have the indians and a few black heads from Home Maker

You can bet TLG made prototypes of those decades ago (they did with the flip flop plates) but for some reason we're not worthy to build that way. And this is how you get run over by the competition- 5,507 replies

The IDEA Books and alt box images are my primary sources of inspiration (besides my little grey cells). Maybe I'm not going to keep my bricks forever but the books will go with me to the grave .. It was actually that book (6000) that drew me back into LEGO. I've had an recurring dream about some missing pages somewhere around those shown above, Searching the net led me to Peeron many years ago, but alas those pages are all but a dream Yeah, modern LEGO is just build and forget. Kids want to be reminded of their favourite IP character, not that they're playing with LEGO. Adults MOC, kids not so much .. Cheers, Ole

Some BL shops actually do have a physical shop. I had a very good experience with a shop in Berlin : https://www.sadk-berlin.de/ They had a ton of nice parts and you can pick the parts yourself. Interestingly enough, most prices are (or were) below BL average prices I think there's a few similar shops in the US Cheers, Ole
-
But that part is two years old, so that render colour is not chosen wisely

Looks like a classic US/JP system from the 70's, thus the CD player is a wee bit anachronistic. An 8-track would fit better but since you got a dual cassette a R2R deck would be awesome and very doable in LEGO Unless it's possible to take the individual components out of the rack you could motorize it, the cassette player and the turntable. Maybe even with some cool lights Cheers, Ole -
You're welcome. It's an awesome set and yours looks in very good condition to boot TLG really liked the split function in those years, several Space sets around '85-'86 have that option I like to MOC alternative cockpits and cargo sections (6891, 6931 and the missing section from 6872). Haven't done anything with the Stalker but I guess it's about time Cheers, Ole

To connect the grabber with the cockpit

I have no problem people calling the company "LEGO" (or "Lego"), tons of companies are known for their (main) product and not the actual company name But "LEGOS", "Legos" and with the ' makes my blood boil
-
Stone is a better and more expensive material. He seems rather good at his work and thus succesfull. Elaborate stonework fits the MOC. However, he should be able to afford fixing the roof, that looks out of place An entire series of medieval artisans and their homes would be a nice, and very doable in LEGO
