As much as I am a big Marvel fan, I am not really a big MCU fan. As long as Lego makes Marvel sets that are not MCU specific, I will buy them. Classic sets are the best.

Good point. But they could have placed a minifig in each of the rooms corresponding to the fairy tales they represented. Your point is my main reason why I wonder if the Sleeping Beauty castle will come out this year or after the Disney 100 celebrations. The theme has to be "generic" enough and will likely feature Mickey and the usual characters instead of a fairy-tale-specific minifig. There are so many fairy tales and stories out there that Lego/ Disney could produce and resonate with fans of those tales, who are not necessarily Disney or Lego fans. So much potential! Is Mary Poppins celebrating any anniversary soon?

Hoping for more sets. I love Disney, LOTR, Marvel and DC themes, as well as the modular. I think it would only be Disney and LOTR that I would be paying $400 up for with D2Cs. Have you guys read all the complaints not the other boards about the price of the D2Cs? I mean it is quite a lot, and the quality has to match. I am happy to pay for the $500 LOTR set. I am willing to pay for an expensive Disney set if the quality is good (first off, NO minidolls!!!). The Cinderella castle came and went, and we have not seen a shadow of Cinderella herself. I really think they should have included her in one of the previous CMFs, or perhaps this one (and left out Stitch and Baymax). We previous had the Cinderella Castle, but without Cinderella still. Now we are getting Sleeping Beauty (and previously Maleficent), but no Sleeping Beauty castle still in sight. Hmmm...

I think the Snow White cottage was originally supposed to come out this year. They provisionally approved the Ideas set, but later retracted it (Disney was reported to be the one that backed out?). Perhaps because of the dwarf controversy, or generally not being released the same time as the delayed (?) movie. Perhaps by the time they delayed or canceled the Ideas set, the CMF roster has already been finalized. It makes sense to release the Snow White cottage because of the significance of the original movie to Disney, and to coincide with the latest movie. It also makes sense why it is now 'delayed.' LOL Short list: Sleeping Beauty Castle Main Street Mark Twain River Boat Haunted Mansion. May I add the Epcot globe? LOL They discontinued the Cinderella (minifig scale) Castle and Train Station. There is no flagship set for Disney at the moment. I am thinking (and very much hoping) that it would be the Sleeping Beauty Castle. Why did they have to discontinue the Cinderella castle if they weren't making another one? Or perhaps they will delay that next year? And just make an alternative flagship set from the list above, based on attractions that others in this thread have named? Is a Sleeping Beauty castle doable with the price points leaked so far??? Isn't the 100 years starting this October, officially? I would like ALL of those, please!!!

I would definitely pay $500 for an X-mansion with all the X-men included! If Lego got lazy and make 20+ X-men with the exact same lazy repeating torso/ suit as say the MCU releases, then it would not even be worth $100!!!

Lego not really making a Lego set, but rather just cashing in on a BTS merchandise. Perhaps this is their experiment - trying to see if venturing out on these kinds of things will rake them more money than say, what AFOLs truly want. :(

When list of characters first leaked some time back, someone posted on here that there would be "another princess". I cannot remember if that was the right wording. Many took it to mean that it was Moana being a new minifig we have not had before. Some interpreted it to mean there would be a chase figure.

People over at the Super Mario boards are excited about this Pink Aurora - they are saying she would make for a good Princess Peach!!! LOL Compare the initial Evil Queen leak with that line you are saying, then this on the leaflet. That line on the torso appears to be gone and she has a design on the chest. Also, the black belt/ tassel has been replaced with the correct red ones! Totally agree with you on Stitch. The least they could have done is add antennae to make it worth it. That just ended up wasting a slot, like with the botched up Baymax. Perhaps there were multiple designers working on this project? Goodness, no!!! If there were a chase figure, wouldn't that have been on the leaflet as well? Exactly. I believe the pink dress appears on the poster with Maleficent. I think Celbrimbor's forging of the ring might be the only iconic scene there. But it would also be great having that Numenorian ship - might even appeal to Pirates fans!

Excellent set, I agree. If they could not execute a character well, they should not have made it. They should not have made Baymax a CMF. He looks deflated. Agree! So, we are still missing: Snow White + 7 dwarves; Beauty and Beast; Cinderella. Snow White is *rumored* to be getting a set. But how about Beauty and the Best? Cinderella??? Except for Baymax. :( lol I am happy they decided to do 18 for this set. We will always get bad eggs, and in this case, I feel like there were two wasted slots: Baymax for the poor execution in translating him to minifig form. Stitch only because he already came out in a CMF before. We should have gotten Lilo. Or they could have placed Lilo and this version of Stitch in a separate small set. They probably just wanted to reuse the double arm and ensure it would sell "well".

It could simply be because Lego is riding on the wave of RoP, to sell sets from whatever license they currently have. I think whether Lego makes any sets from RoP would depend on a lot of things. Perhaps they have good relations with Amazon, the fact that they have their own store there. Would the other stake holders be onboard granting Lego license? Are there scenes from RoP worth turning into sets? I just finished binge-watching the whole of series one. It is not that bad. However, if you got used to watching the original trilogy, this one could be a bit slow at times.

I think the Evil Queen would be awesome with a collar and cape. (Maybe these CMFs are just samples? Her belt here is red: I'm a big fan of Sorcerer Mickey, but this CMF is a little 'off'. I wish Lego would have actual robes. It is a bit weird with Cruella having that yellow robe. Should it not be a tan robe? She would look better with Kraven's tan fur collar.

Tinker Bell: new grin, new wings, torso side shadow print appears more pronounced; new skirt print. Peter Pan: new torso print (CMF had collar outlined in black), plain legs. I am thinking it would be great to mix and match the two versions? I'm getting the train set only for the Moana fig!!! Hopefull, it IS a 18+ set and not minidoll! That Mickey has a celebration outfit. Could they really put it in a 'regular' set that would be available for quite some time? If it were in the much anticipated Cinderella castle, then it means that castle would not be on sale for a long time since the 100th anniversary celebrations will be ending. That is indeed a very interesting idea!!!

That would absolutely be THE dream! Perhaps character releases will be based out of whichever ones will feature from the cartoon reboot? From the internet, I'm getting: Rogue, Beast, Gambit, Jean, Wolverine, Storm, Jubilee, and Cyclops. Plus Cable, Bishop, Forge, Morph, and Nightcrawler. (I do wish we get, Havok, Polaris, Angel, and Colossus as well, but they are not mentioned in the series.) Enemies will be: Magneto, Hellfire Club, Mr. Sinister, Bolivar Trask.

I really wish there were at least six floats on that train, and that there were NO repeat characters. That would disqualify Mickey, Minnie, Woody, Tinker and Peter. I basically would be buying this set only for Moana.

What is the idea/ inspiration for this upcoming Disney anniversary train? Is it a real life park ride, or just a placeholder Lego set for the spillover from the CMFs?

Exactly! Disney needs to complete that line of characters into minifigs!

In these very trying times, these are my main sources of anxiety: - rising price of goods; - social instability, and prospect of war from certain parts of the world; - natural calamity, including global warming; and... - Lego making most-wanted Disney mini figures into mini-dolls with no prospect of a minifigure version.

Been wondering if Lego might consider taking some of the events not quite elaborated during the movies and make them into small dioramas. As far as the superheroes are concerned, they release some classic-theme, Batman/ CMF for example, sometimes side by side with the classic movies.
