LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
hikouki replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Perhaps we can have another classic space, this time in bright light blue. That way, we can complete the "Classic Space is Awesome" theme. LOL! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
hikouki replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
LOL. I have the Sanctum and Daily Bugle in one "street", and I think I would rather have all the Ninjago's in another. I wish someone could 'modularize' the Flower and Fruit Mountain plus the upcoming Monkey Kid Hideout. It would be great to have them as a 'park' in modular form! -
I wanted to display my LOTR minifig collection in something other than a framed display. I came across this on etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/639953571/the-fellowship-of-the-ring-building?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=lego+lord+of+the+rings+display&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&frs=1&edd=1&organic_search_click=1 Any ideas on how to recreate a "gold" ring using existing lego pieces? The largest brick-round-corner in pearl gold I could find is the 5x5x1 item no. 24599. Any ideas? Thanks!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
hikouki replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Ninjago is too much of a fantasy theme for it to be placed alongside the other modulars. OTOH, perhaps Lego could consider a modular building for a CNY set! -
Ditto. When will we ever get another new member of the X-men? Sigh.
-
As for LOTR, they're probably banking on the fact that Amazon Prime has released that new series.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
hikouki replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I was looking at a video of the CMF 24 roster on Youtube and perhaps some of those minifigs from the past years could be used as references for future modulars? Potter - potter's studio Rocking girl - school or daycare Carrot boy - organic grocer (already in City) Koala keeper - Zoo? There was an admiral from CMF 23 - perhaps a seaport or city dock? Too big, perhaps. It would be great to have some colonial or Asian-inspired architecture style. I think the other CMFs can reference other lines like Castle, Space, Football stadiums, etc. I ditto the pharmacy or optometrist suggested earlier. I work in healthcare by the way, and the current Lego City hospital is anything but realistic with glass walls! Whatever happened to patient privacy?!?! LOL -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I have always wondered for quite some time now if we will ever see Asian-inspired buildings or colonial architecture. Classic example would be the ones you see in Singapore: https://www.insightguides.com/destinations/asia-pacific/singapore/historical-highlights/colonial-architecture-in-the-civic-district However, a recent blogpost here seems to say that they would like to keep the plurality of meanings and representations in the Modular line: https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/jamie-berard-interview-10312-modular-jazz-club-and-legos-modular-building-series/ Jamie was asked in that interview about having some darker skin tones and he explained that the yellow somehow represents the idea of assigning 'any skin tone' and that the buildings are not really set at a specific location or time. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I have to say, and this will be a bit off topic, that I am beginning to have some negative feelings for that Friends line - we don't get Disney princesses because they have them there, and if they are also what's keeping certain themes in the Modular line, then I will go on a rampage! LOL I think an office space would be a great idea! Although I do not think they would allow that now that there is the Daily Bugle. I think a Video Rental would be more for adults. I have not seen one in years! I do not think kids and teens these days would have an idea. Ditto. Ditto. Ditto. Conservatory of Music. Or a Dance Club - poor ballerina was crammed in a small space at Assembly Square! Music Store with Recording studio. How do minifigs repair their buildings if they don't have a handyman shop/ hardware store? -
I’d be very disappointed if this were microscale. I might still get it though if it ended up being a nice build but later and not upon release, and perhaps if it goes on sale. Some say minifig scale is just too massive. Well, they could do as the Harry Potter sets, release smaller sets that can link together!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
hikouki replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The Book Shop somehow looks out of place in the lineup as it appears more belonging to a "residential" street. I think that modular looks best with the Pet Shop and the Green Grocer. Is it a tradition to have some "easter egg" on modulars for future projects? Was there anything referenced in this modular? I have long been wanting a modular of a hospital but I think Lego will not make one for as long as they have it in the regular Town/ City line. What business or establishments could the modular line feature next? Zoo or Park: there was a CNY set that came out some years ago which was a Chinese park, but was in "modular form" Hospital/ Clinic: there is one in City Newspaper/ Printing Press: will conflict with the Daily Bugle School? Farmer's Market? Circus/ Opera house/ Theater? -
Wasn't the mould for the cattle/cow not used (or was it "lost" too?) for a long time? Then it came out again recently.

About 8-10 months ago, I was shopping like crazy for monofigs on BL. And I do know some of them were 'wiped' but were genuine Legos. Nowadays, there are far less monofig sellers, and the few that do, only sell the minifigs from Everybody is Awesome. It seems Lego banned custom monochrome minifigs?

fox,... duck,...wolf - I can't believe we have not had them, especially that duck! fawn - that deer mould is relatively new, so perhaps Lego will soon get to it. zebra will probably just be a recolored horse. LOL

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
hikouki replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Agree completely. I thought of MOC'ing some of them or even rebuilding them according to those modifications at Rebrickable. But then the changes are infinite. Either I build Lego modulars as is, or I build a MOC from Rebrickable that isn't based on an existing set. -
Is this our first female clown? I initially thought it was silly of Lego to make a blue bunny, but after a google search, there are actually real-life blue rabbits! LOL

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
hikouki replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I collect all modulars so I'm definitely getting this one. I like it, but I do feel that it is a "wow" like the Boutique Hotel, or Assembly Square. The photos show it beside the Bookshop, but I think it belongs more to the street that has the likes of the Town Hall, Boutique Hotel and Fire Station. I tend to imagine that the modulars can be grouped together where the aesthetics and business belong together. The Jazz Club is a commercial establishment, but the facade and build is a bit more 'muted' compared to the Town Hall (tall and imposing) and the Boutique Hotel (grand and ornate). This MOC would be a nice filler in between the Town Hall and Assembly Square. I will continue to collect modulars for as long as it is still a "City" or "Town" theme. The day minidolls takeover, that will be the end of the line for me. Those minidolls seem to be getting more and more ubiquitous these days and for example have taken over the Princess line (some have speculated that TLG refuses to make Princess minifigs because there are minidolls.) -
They could have released something around the time that Suicide Squad movie came out. I think that was a total missed opportunity. As much as I like many (*not all all*) of these Marvel releases, I think it would be a good balance to occasionally release characters and vignettes from the actual comics. Lego was on the right track when they came out with that DC CMF series.

(Not sure this is the right message board for help with Lego parts...) I'm trying to build a Mumakil (LOTR battle elephant) and realized that it has two sets of tusks (two on each side of its head). Is there a connector/ technic pin/ etc. that I can use so the existing or previous elephant moulds could be fitted with two tusks on each side of its head? Thanks!
-
I did not realize it has been that long. Wasn't it also the first one to feature the new headpiece? Perhaps they're just reworking the mould. Rooting for a Rhino bigfig myself.

Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion
hikouki replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I actually thought of this idea just now as I was posting on another thread about the long-lost mould for the goats. Lego could perhaps come up with a CNY set featuring the animals of the Chinese zodiac! The goat is the only one missing, if you use one of the chickens in place of a rooster. LOL -
I really hope Lego could one day come up with a goat again, and also a rooster mould (non-Duplo). This would complete all the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

Ongoing Transformers Rumors and Discussion

I wonder if we'll see another Transformers item ... Megatron? Starscream? -
Didn't we just have a Thanos bigfig just last year? And they repurposed the large head mould in the upcoming CNY parade set.

I really wonder why Lego has not released an Electro minifig - he is the only member of the original Sinister Six that has not been made into a minifig!!!
